I got their strawberry cheesecake and a slice of I think German chocolate cake. Strawberry cheesecake gelato was delicious, reminded me of the old strawberry swirl cup ice cream you'd get at the grocery stores that came with the wodden spoon. But upgraded and a lot tastier. Wanted to rate higher because it is a cute place and good service but based on my food choices it was disappointing. Ordered a sfogliatelle and a cappuccino. The sfogliatelle was very pretty but the dough was very crunchy. Dipping pieces of it in my cappuccino helped a little. The dense filling was tasty but tasted more like orange than cardamom flavored. The cappuccino was just ok. I drink it with no sugar and rely on a good strong espresso for the flavor and it wasn't there. Hubby enjoyed his mocha. You can add whip cream for .75 cents. He gave his almond danish a 4 out of 5. The pastas and other prepared foods looked really good so i may want to come back for those instead on another visit. We always look forward to going to Presti's when we visit Cleveland. It's very well priced, has a wide variety of menu and dessert items, and the food is just so dang good. It's always busy, even during random times during the week day. It does feel chaotic there, but that's what every other Italian deli feels like. I do feel that there is a lack of signage of the menu items, but it isn't a deal breaker. I also appreciate their packaging is compostable and biodegradable. My favorite thing to do is buy whatever happens to be on the half-off shelf - it could be bread, it could be sweets, whatever works for me! I had the artichoke pizza- it would've been better if it was warmed up until the cheese melted, the crust was still white and the cheese hard- flavor wasn't bad but it could've been better. This is the best bakery in Little Italy. The choices are overwhelming, but trust me, that is the best problem to have. You cannot make a bad choice here. Their linzers are amazing, along with the cream puffs, and almond puffs. Lemon bar is more sweet, and cake like, but very good.We visit the Cleveland Clinic regularly, and try to make it to the bakery every chance we get. We went to the other bakery across the street the last time we were here, and took home a box of cookies. They were not as good as Presti's and I ended up throwing most of them away. My kids, who I brought the box of cookies home for, said they weren't as good as Presti's and didn't eat more than a bite or two. read more

The people greet you when they call out your number (I guess it gets so busy you have to take a ticket number.) they were very helpful of what they recommend at the bakery. I ordered a selection of about a dozen small cookies to try and some caffeinated beverages. I am in an Italian bakery, the espresso drinks should be off the chart. Disappointed on several counts: The cortado(double shot espresso with foam, tasted of over roasted, old watered down beans, no foam, just warm milk poured in, the cookies were stale and had little flavor, they left a greasy coating on the roof of my mouth, the water for the tea was not hot. I needed to use the facilities while I was there and those were unclean. Being in an unkept restroom, that close to the kitchen makes me rethink ever eating somewhere again. After a few years of living near here, it became one of my favorite haunts, especially early morning during the week. Since moving, I've really missed the at-home atmosphere and the INCREDIBLE baked goods. I stopped after an appointment at UH and found that not a single thing has changed! It's always felt like your home town bakery, full of tempting smells and the "ooh" and "ahh" of fellow customers, some of which you've known since grade school. It's a take-a-number system, and typically you have some time to peruse the days options. There is a counter for savory breakfast and lunch selections, as well as a full display of fresh, colorful sweets, with a variety of breads and other baked goods behind the service counter. The staff is ALWAYS speedy, yet attentive to everyone's needs and questions. They are some of the most hard working and positive food service hosts in the city, maybe even the country! I planned on my usual, some spinach and sausage Stromboli with a coffee, but couldn't pass up on a healthy serving of the pesto tortellini. As usual, the flavors were vibrant, fresh and robust! I read the reviews before coming. We had already tried the other Bakery in the area and were disappointed so we had high hopes this would be a different experience. While the pastries tasted a bit fresher that was the only positive I can say about this establishment. Most businesses want your business, especially these days. Here you feel like an inconvenience. Unless you have a number and are being served no one talks to you. If you need something afterwards, to ask a question, you have to wait in line again no matter how long that is. Everything is disorganized. No one knows what they're doing. This is Little Italy and an Italian Bakery. I would expect to be able to get a great Cappuccino. It was terrible. It tasted old, burnt and watered down. We tried twice to get a decent cup thinking maybe it was a fluke but it wasn't. The machine itself looked as though it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. Unfortunately, we didn't notice that until after we had gotten our Cappuccinos and drank them. We ordered several Cookies and Pastries. The Pignoli cookies were decent and chewy. The Lobster Tail w/Amaretto Cream was good on the outside. The inside tasted more like vanilla pudding than custard and not quite like Amaretto or even Almond flavoring. It was just ok. The German chocolate cake tasted like a boxed cake with shelf bought frosting. * Now for the really ugly about our experience. I hope that someone will pay attention and fix these issues as it's unacceptable and dangerous to people's health. It's hard having to write this in a review. However; I feel obligated to do so. There were various food items left out. Sandwiches, Pizzas, Fish and Chicken Sandwiches sitting on the counters up above on a shelf above the Coolers, that clearly need refrigeration. Pasta and Breaded Chicken Cutlets sitting in containers next to that. These items were sitting out when we arrived, stood in line for awhile waiting to order. While we ate and when we left an hour later. I have no idea if this is a common experience as this was my first time here. read more

One of my coworkers brought a box of Presti's pasteries in to the office last week, and mentioned that the breakfast sandwiches looked great, so, naturally, we went for a visit after Saturday yoga. I had already sampled the pecan roll from the box at work, and it was very good - not too sweet, plenty of pecans. On Saturday morning, the place was hopping. You have to take a ticket like at a deli counter. There are 3 menus and a deli case to peruse while you're waiting (coffee, pastries, and gelato), all lined up across the wall, but not together, so you'll have to move around to see all of the options. I ordered a vanilla latte and one of the egg and cheese sandwiches. As I was paying, one of the staff was unloading the sfogiatelle into the bakery case, so I got one of those too. The coffee was super hot and on the sweet side, but it hit the spot. The sandwich was just OK - the croissant was good, but it since it was assembled in the case and heated in a press/grill, it was a little dry and needed something else. The pastry was great - the phyllo cracks when you bit it, an absurd amount of powdered sugar that gets everywhere, and a lemony creamy filling. We were able to snag a table by the window pretty quickly. We were impressed by the price of our breakfast - it was under $20 each for the pastry, sandwich, and coffee. Visiting the area, I had to stop at this comfy place to check it out. Plenty of seating inside and great for groups if you consolidate tables. It's a self seating restaurant and finding seats for our party of 9 was easy. They had a lot to offer whether you want a full meal or just a snack or coffee. The only thing that they can improve is the details of service. After they asked me for my order, they went back and got my order, then called me back at the "same" register to ring me up....all the same time while a new customer is at that same register trying to order and a second customer with food was also waiting to be rung up. I'm sorry to say but the cassata cake was a real disappointment. I truly believe they forgot to add any sugar. We served it to my family for my birthday and no one could even finish their portion. We offered some to our neighbor (without our opinion- trying not to have the whole thing go to waste and give it away) and she text us later saying she didn't care for it either. I'm shocked by the reviews for it. It might be one of the worst cakes I've ever eaten. The kids wouldn't even eat it. We were in Little Italy just driving around, and found this to be the only open bakery at the time. It seemed like a quick stop but we only realized how busy it was once we stepped in. They had a typical Italian bakery vibe with many servers calling out numbers and people running around. They were packing up lunch as we got there just a little after so it was a bit of a mess. Once our number did come up we were served quickly. We had decided to get a classic canoli! And well you can never go wrong with that can you now. The filling was so light and breezy it melt in my mouth, the chocolate chips added a nice flavor to it. The shell for the canoli was super crispy and not at all oily.
