If I could put 0 stars, I would. The place is beautiful, but it is just that. Prior to moving out late June, all amenities were closed due to Covid. Not entirely there fault, but other communities around the area were opening amenities with limitations. The Core did not. These are probably one of the most expensive apartments in the area, and you definitely pay for these amenities. My experience with management and the staff was terrible. Specifically one example on the move out inspection, they drug there finger across the floor to see if there were any scratch or scuff marks on the tile. They literally nickle and dime you for every penny on your security deposit. We had to pay to repaint our apartment, even though they used flat / matte white paint that literally picks up every scratch and scuff mark. The carpet is so light its basically white. So prepare to replace that too. They also choose to enforce rules whenever it is convenient for them. We received multiple violations for random things - with little to no evidence to back it up. We got a violation for putting our trash out a half an hour before the "allowed time", and another for smoking... but we dont smoke! When asked for proof, they send us pictures from one of our guest outside at the front gate smoking at the call box, from weeks/months before. Management is unfair, and I know this is why a lot of people were moving out when we were. Just look at the reviews on here. You can get just as nice and bigger apartments in the area with similar amenities for much less. Just do your research and don't let the "new community feel" real you in. read more

I recently moved out. Everything was going well until the actual day of move out. The maintenance worker is the one who did my walk through at move out and told me that my apartment was in excellent condition. He also told me that I would be charged $125 cleaning fee which was surprising. He said it didn't matter if your apartment was clean or not they will still charge you. In addition, they up charge you for paint, carpet cleaning etc. I was in a two bedroom apartment and one of the rooms was never utilized. I was automatically enrolled in Lease Lock. I was never given the option to pay a deposit although they did a background check. Lease Lock is a joke. It does nothing for the residents. It is just a scam. Please be aware they will charge you for every little thing upon move out. I asked why Lease Lock didn't cover the charges since it the apartment was considered not to be found in the condition in which it was when I moved in and they refused to contact Lease Lock or give me Lease Lock's information. This company is money hungry and running scams. read more

The apartments themselves are beautiful... stunning actually. The kitchens are unlike any other in the area. The only drawback unfortunately are some of the provisions included in the lease. Warnings against elevated cancer risks due to the proximity of the freeway and airport (March AF Base). Due to these provisions, we backed out of leasing. This information should be given to applicants before running credit and taking a holding deposit, but it is not released until you are approved and given a lease to sign. read more

I lived here from April 2019-October 2022. The only reason I relocated was for work. The amenities here are top tier. The pool was my spot, it was never crowded and always nice to just relax and feel like your home is a resort. The gym (although I didn't visit often) it's amazing you would not need a gym membership living here. When I first moved there, rent was about $1600 a month for one bedroom, when I moved out it was around $1880. I do think some of the increases were a bit high. Moving our was very easy and because I was already commuting far for work I did not have time to do a full clean of the apartment so I did not expect my deposit back. They did charge me a cleaning fee but they mailed me half of my deposit back which to me was still reasonable because I would've hired a cleaning company anyway. The leasing staff was always nice and professional. When I moved I left something important in the apartment and a month later they called and said they kept it for me and did not throw it out, I thought that was very sweet. Overall I loved living there! Parking was definitely an issue when it came to having guests over, but overall it's a nice apartment complex to live in. DO NOT MOVE HERE. The experience they provide is awful. Britany should really take courses in customer service. For the price you're paying, you would think they would deliver world class service. WRONG. They could care less about you and this is in the pre-move in process. They did not share added fees, not to mention the lease lock is a SCAM. So they don't allow you the opportunity to do deposite but they charge you a monthly fee for damages that haven't occurred yet? They failed to communicate these fees until after I applied, instead of being empathetic for a communication miss on their end. Britany tried to place the responsibility on me even though they failed to communicate. When I called Britany, she made it seem like all of the information was on the website (it's not) & acted as if it was an inconvenience for me to bother her with my questions. I read reviews online but decided to give this place the benefit of doubt but the reviews are true.This place needs to do better in their communication especially the extra charges and be up front with people when they call for information instead of referring them to the site, you should help them!! that IS YOUR JOB as leasing agents.  Britany literally lost 30k worth of business and a great tenant. PLEASE consider living literally anywhere but The Core. This complex would be fantastic if the management weren't completely incompetent, rude, elitist and dismissive. This excludes Ricky, Jackie and Ruben (service supervisor) who have always been so very kind, prompt and helpful. The grounds of the complex, as well as the units themselves are very aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained. However, the management has made living here an absolute nightmare. They are incredibly controlling and run the complex similar to a dictatorship. More on this is detailed in other reviews here. One of the (many) terrible aspects of this complex is the parking situation. There is never parking in the complex after 6pm, and street parking? Forget about it, the city recently made it illegal to park on Sycamore Canyon Blvd outside of the complex so you'll need to park about a (minimum) 8+ minute walk away from the complex. And if you work night shift like myself, good luck walking back to the The Core from god knows wherever you were able to find parking, in the dark, alone on the streets of Riverside. Want to rent an additional spot in the complex? Also, good luck!! There's a long waiting list for that. But then again, parking inside the complex still isn't your best bet because my car was broken into while parked in the complex, and my husbands car was ALSO broken into (including smashed windows) while parked in the complex resulting in both cars requiring over $2000 worth of repairs combined. A friend of ours who used to live here had his car broken into as well while parked inside the complex. Looove how successful the buildings "night patrol" team is! Keep it up!! However, my issues lie fundamentally with managements interpersonal skills, actually lack thereof, and general incompetency. There's plenty of negative reviews on here about this complex and I agree with them wholeheartedly. I have also spoken to multiple other residents at The Core who share this same/similar sentiment, and have friends who have moved out as soon as their lease ended. If it weren't so expensive to break the lease agreement I would have done so months ago. I cannot wait to move out, and again if you're considering moving here I highly encourage you to pursue other options. read more

Recently moved out with my kids. Not only was there an attempted kidnapping so we never felt safe but the opening and closing "security" gate DID NOT work during our stay. Homeless people are often seen walking around and with bikes. Never in my life did I see so many homeless people and no security. If you get locked out of your apartment they'll charge you $100 to open your door, no free openings. They back charge your utilities for the apartment complex I moved in in August and moved out by March. I got charged apartment complex charges for $70 and door to door trash pick up. They are a joke! Utilities are through the riverside utilities and I got refunded for the deposit... so how is the apartment charging for apartment utilities. Save your money! The front desk is a joke. One of their own employees told me she doesn't live in her "free apartment" because she doesn't feel safe. Do NOT waste your time. read more

I very much agree with the unfavorable reviews, but will start with the pros Pros: Gated community (though very unrestrictive), new/updated apartments, good/fast access to maintenance services Cons: Management, parking, Location is not "Canyon crest" (Really, next to the freeway: noisy, dusty, and sketchy) I have been a resident here for the last 2 years. Due to the pandemic, facilities (gym, pool) have been closed for the last year. This is very understandable, however, we continue paying for amenities that are simply not available. Even now, the gym is open only during business hours. Unless you are retired or unemployed, I don't see how those hours would work for anybody (yet, we continue paying the same rent) Parking has been a huge issue. Before move-in, we were ensured parking would not be an issue. Definitely not the case, and we were forced to have to pay for an extra for carport, as it was impossible find parking at night (People would literally have work vans parked in here, very much looking like a home depot parking lot). Because of this, they set new parking rules, which are extremely restrictive. We are allowed 5 overnight passes for a month. This means that if you have family or friends visiting for more than 5 nights in a month, they will need to park outside. Outside means street parking, a few blocks away. Not sure if I'd like to park my car 3 blocks away, in an industrial, sketchy street. Management has not compensated for these inconveniences in any way. They are impolite and quite inflexible. In summary, don't live here. You will overpay for "luxury apartment" (which is far from luxury, but nice) and amenities that you can't quite use. If you have guests more than 5 times per month, be okay with parking in sketchy zones. Pay 300-400 less across the street, and you'll basically have access to the same things read more

Very nice apartments but staff/management are cold, unwelcoming, and will nickel and dime you while watching everything you do like a hawk. The amenities being closed for the last few months was also not a very fun bonus. Keep in mind I was not the only one that shared many of these views, MANY of my neighbors had similar complaints, most of us have vacated or will vacate for good reason. Not all these incidents happened to me only. - There was a vehicle theft on the property, I would've liked to know about the incident and/or what they changed to try and prevent it in the future. It seems all they wanted to do was hide it. - They force you to pay for expensive trash pickup service even though you might live literally right in front of the dumpster like I did. - Since they don't accept packages in their office, you're essentially forced to pay for the expensive package locker service. - The 2 guests per resident policy in the amenities areas is a bit ridiculous and VERY sternly enforced. Why build such a nice pool/cabanas/fire pit if I can't enjoy it with my family if they decide to visit? i have LITERALLY never seen it past 50% capacity... - I got charged an unreasonable amount on my deposit even though the apartment was absolutely pristine when i left it, and even if it wasn't i would think the damage would be normal wear and tear and require nothing more than a mild clean. - They are incredibly strict on all their policies as if they had no control over it. Every other apartment complex I've lived in has been much more accommodating and nicer about issue they have with you. - Neighbors have gotten sternly worded letters for other tiny violations. - They watch the cameras very closely, I felt I had to be wary at all times in case I was breaking some sort of rule. - They could have lowered the rent or even offered a better deal next year (due to covid, amenities closure) but there was no such offer, so not worth the rent. Their early resign offer was paltry. I might have stayed another year or even recommended the apartment to other potential tenants if the above didn't happen, but I've now told plenty of people to steer clear hoping they can avoid the unwelcome experience at the core. read more

This review is based of my experience and my opinions. For starters the complex is gorgeous, well taken care of and the apartments are beautiful. A little on the pricey side but the amenities that come with it makes it super worth it. The only issue I had with the complex was how unprofessional the property manager is towards the tenants. I believe she picks and chooses what rules to enforce. Me and my partner had a 2 bed 2 bath apartment, one of the rooms was turn into like an office so he could work from home. Toward the end of the lease the property manager assumed their was more people living in the apartment, but instead of finding out if that was true or not or have her staff find out. They did nothing but started addressing all our Mail from the property to us, to the residents and "ALL OTHERS." Why instead assuming stuff didn't they come and find out that it was only 2 of us actually living here. They do have the authority to enter the apt. It is against the leasing agreement to have people not on the lease live in the apartment. So if she was sure of it because all our mail was coming addressed to "ALL OTHERS" why didn't they enforce leasing rules (hence why I said they pick and choose what rules they enforce or don't enforce.) I just believe that there is leasing agreement put in place for a reason and should be followed, not have the property manager decide what rules she wants to enforce today and tomorrow. Yeah I know people get upset when you have to warned them or informed them about breaking policy, but if it stated in the agreement we should have already known it was against policy. I posted pictures of our set up in our apartment and Mail we would get address to "ALL OTHERS" Then I had my sister over and her kids and they wanted to go to the pool so we decided to go. We were in the pool about 30 minutes when Michelle comes out and starts saying that I'm breaking the rules cause I'm only suppose to have to guest in the pool right in front of everyone instead of pulling me to the side or asking to come see her in the office after I was done or emailing me. So my sister was like let's just go don't want you to get in trouble so we ended up leaving the pool. The pool was empty there was no one in the pool when we got there when we left there was still no one. Then when we schedule our move out walk thru, they literally dragged their fingers across the floor by the entrance of the apt and said "oh their scratches and scuff here were gonna have to replace the floor." When we first moved in there was mold growing on the wall so we had contractors construction people walking in and out the apartment so of course their is gonna be scuff marks and scratches. I believe the complex would be a great place to live if they got a brand new staff and manager that has customer service experience..The whole addressing "all others" cause a legal issue is total BULL cause all corespondent was never addresses to "all others" except for the last 2 Mail we got from the front office all other corespondent was address with just both our names on the header...if it was such a legal issue why was move out statement address just to us 2 and not "all others." When I was touring apartments, I instantly fell in love with this place due to its luxurious appearance. 5 months in, and I can tell you it is the worst living experience of my life. I wish I had listened to the other reviews. First of all, the supposed "gated community" is a scam; the gate has not worked since I moved here in June. Second of all, your rent will 100% go up, despite the initial lease offer, because there is a portion of the lease (hidden) that says that you will owe utilities to a third party company. We pay utilities through Riverside public utilities (as required), but 2 months in, we also got a surprise bill for additional garbage and water utilities to pay to the core. They require you to pay for garbage valet and they don't even grab your trash half the week. Thirdly, there is no parking, especially beyond 5pm. If you move into a 2B/2B, you only get 1 parking spot. And if there aren't any parking spots left for the other car, you are forced to park off site into a different private neighborhood. Or, if you park temporarily in a reserved spot because it is midnight and you do not want to walk outside alone at night, you get your car towed, like me, without any warning whatsoever. They will occasionally issue warnings to other cars, but only when they feel like it. I had to call the police to figure out where my car was and missed work. This place is a scam. Please please please read my review and the other reviews, and spare yourself the headache of living here. read more

These are apartments set themselves apart from other complexes near by. You are getting what you pay for. This apartment is beautiful and modern with updated appliances including smart thermostat and keyless entry. It has truly been an amazing experience here. The staff including front office and maintenance have been wonderfully kind and extremely helpful. Neighbors are all around great with no complaints or noise. Everyone is respectful of space and privacy. Only small negative is guest parking. With the apartment you receive one assigned parking spot or garage which is great but if you were to have family or friends over in the evening time the guest parking doesn't exactly accommodate for that. Small inconvenience but with all the great amenities it's easy to overlook. read more

Today I had an issue with my payments having been made during the management change, and more likely delayed due to issues with USPS being late in delivering mail. The Assistant Property Manager, Jessica, took the time call me, to listen to my complaints (about previous experiences with the leasing office and former employees), and helped me to develop a plan of action to rectify the situation. I really appreciate how she took ownership of a mutually troublesome situation, and most importantly she did it all with a great attitude. In this day and age, Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired, but Jessica went the extra mile for me and I really appreciated it. read more

Moved in about three months ago and had to put in our first maintenance call over the weekend. When Ruben and Ralph showed up to maintenance the fan and microwave they were more than helpful and a delightful presence to be around. They were in and out and made sure we knew anything we needed to know about the replacement parts and even brought a lender microwave while we wait for our new microwave to come in! DO NOT MOVE IN HERE! While the apartments themselves are beautiful, it is a facade and it is a nightmare living here. First off, there is no parking, EVER. It is literally hunger games to get an open spot. If you park in the "new resident" parking at night, expect a text right at 9am to the whole complex that your car is about to be towed. (But the leasing staff can park in all of our guest spots?) I have a two bedroom apartment and was only given 1 space total (that my truck will not even fit into). The manager Michelle is horribly unprofessional. She will look up your pool time you have scheduled, and confront you for any and every little thing while you are trying to enjoy your "one hour only" pool time. All the amenities are closed, including the gym and computers/printers. They've been closed all year with no discount to our rent. There are cameras everywhere around the complex that they watch the residents like hawks. Also, there are many residents that blast music until 2am but nothing is ever done. But if your dog barks at 2pm, they will definitely let you know. We pay an outrageous price for trash, but the dumpsters are always full to the brim and people leave the bags all over the floor. Also, the door locks are electronic (you don't get an actual key) and they lock immediately when the door shuts. Do not leave your keys inside (or hope your door battery or phone doesn't die like mine did) or you'll be stuck paying a locksmith 200$ after hours to come open your front door at 12am after a long shift. For as much as the rent is, the stress of this place is not worth it. Find somewhere else, trust me. read more

We lived at the Core for about a year before they raised our rent 300 dollars more. I have no complaints about the actual site. The apartments are modern and well kept. However, Greystar which is who manages the apartments are complete scammers! I stand by some of the comments people have put in regards to how ridiculously high they charge when you move out. They charged us.. painting-175.00 carpet-85.00 cleaning 155.00 utilities 138.15 and a fee of 15.48. It all came down to 538!! We have tried and tried to get ahold of customer service so that they can explain to us why everything was so high. We have sent numerous emails along with voicemails but no response. We left that place in very good condition. We did have some holes from the wall decor we had but nonetheless we made sure to leave it clean. We are in the process of buying a new home so we are forced to pay them the amount but just BEWARE!! They truly are scammers! read more

Have loved our time at the Core. Having previously lived in other apartments in Riverside, I can say that the Core has been far and away the best residence for our family. The complex is new and the apartments are beautifully designed. We have a modern kitchen with a large island with quartz countertops. The interior of the apartment is beautiful and a huge contrast to the older apartments we previously stayed at. They have first class facilities including a pool table/ games room, gym and awesome pool area. The games room is adjacent to the office and is also beautifully designed and spotless. We have a parking garage and also an outdoor space for second car. Parking at night is always available thanks to the strict patrolling of cars at night. Our trash is picked up daily at the front door which is a nice luxury to have. They charge extra for the trash pickup. The apartment door and front gate are controlled by phone app or fob. They set you up when you move in. Location is perfect with access close to highways. We specifically asked for a unit not on the main road since we are noise averse. There is one building between us and the main road and we have been very pleased with how well windows block noise. Neighbors are quiet, only hear occasional footsteps from unit above. Overall, an outstanding experience so far! read more

This apartment complex is wonderful. The staff is great and responsive. The grounds and amenities are impeccable. I get a Vegas hotel vibe from the pool area complete with cabanas, flat screen TVs and ceiling fans, perfect for Riverside, CA summers. Security is courteous in closing the pool promptly at 10pm, so yes, night swims in year-round heated pool which is perfect for a pool view apartment such as ours. There is a wonderful range of ages and families in this community. But my favorite has to be that this community is pet friendly, so far as to say, that it is welcoming to my one dufus of a dog who thinks everyone loves him. Woof! Sorry to those who are not into pets, your loss. And there is much much more. Ricky has been our personal Julie McCoy. His addition to any staff is a necessary asset. Thanks for who you are.
