Although I feel they could have a wider menu to choose from, this is a great place to eat if you like healthy food options.

I want to go back already! Not to be that person but I wish this place was closer to where I lived. I would be there way more if that was the case! It is a great concept by bringing a lot of healthy options to that part of town while also still giving you the freedom to build your own meal. Think chipotle as far as the building of your meal. You can order something they suggest already put together from their menu (you can always make variations as they go along and build your meal). I loved walking down the line with all of the ingredients right out in front of you so that you can just point and choose instead of trying to remember everything you want from a list. This is huge in my book. You can also order double meat aka double protein for your meals too. I actually ended up with the regular version salad and it was plenty. At the end of the assembly of your entree there are a bunch of soups too! I ordered a side of broth. They have both chicken and beef. For drinks they have about 8 different handcrafted concoctions of deliciousness to choose from, as well as the usual suspects. The handcrafted beverages range from homemade lemonade, fruit punch, beet lemonade, cucumber basil lemonade and apple cider green tea. There are plenty of seats to enjoy there or take home! Eating there is pretty comfortable with nice places to sit ranging from booths to tables and plenty of space where you don't feel piled on top of one another! read more

Tonight I had the Cobb salad. It was great. My salad was freshly made in front of me, not pulled from a refrigerator. It was tossed and mixed together very well. Each bite was flavorful and tangy with my blue cheese. Seating was bench style. The decor was very modern style. The acoustics was loud due to all the hard surfaces. So if you're looking for a quiet dinner, you may not get that here. All in all, it was a good experience. read more

Well, I missed another opportunity to take a pic before I devoured my meal. Actually it happed 2 days in a row. "The camera eats first!", I must remember. My new workplace was buzzing about CoreLife Eatery and it's no wonder they love it. I ordered the spicy Thai chicken rice noodle and Napa cabbage bowl delivered. AMAZING. The fresh whole ingredients are so filling and enjoyable to my soul! No falling asleep after this power lunch. I could help myself and ordered again today. Today I built my own bowl. BBQ chicken with select veggies and warm purple rice- DELICIOUS. I'm going to be lunch poor very quickly. They are so efficient, use earth friendly containers, and the delivery is in record time. This is a fun concept for a new place in Grandville. I went to check out their grand opening and tried the tuna poke (poh-kay) grain bowl which was really good with lots of great flavor and tons of toppings. I got the small bowl and it had a small handful of large chunks of tuna, quinoa, edamame, cucumber, sesame seeds, scallions, avocado, almonds, kale, cabbage, and some really good miso sesame ginger dressing. My boyfriend got the small Southwest Grilled Chicken & Wild Rice Blend which I had a couple bites of and it seemed okay. Definitely not as flavorful as the Poke bowl. The building interior is huge and airy with modern decor and pops of orange everywhere. The line moved really quickly as they have at least 7 or 8 people working on the line the whole time. They also offer soups, plates (meats/roasted veggies), bone broth, and fresh squeezed lemonades and juices. The two small bowls and one lemonade came out to $20, which I thought was slightly overpriced. (The tuna poke bowl is one of the more expensive options.) The bowls were filling, although I wasn't super hungry. They had at least 8 options of lemonades and other beverage options (iced tea, fruit juice coconut water, etc.), which is really nice. I had the beet lemonade which was good and not too sweet. The cranberry cayenne lemonade was a little too sweet for me. It wasn't that spicy though. Everyone working at CoreLife was fast and efficient and they had people guiding you when you first come in which was helpful. Overall I liked this place but I don't think I would go that often. One of the girls working there said they are opening another location in the Breton Village Mall, where it will probably do really well. One pet peeve of mine is when places list calorie counts (which CoreLife includes) - these can vary so much depending on how much dressing is used, how big the avocados are, etc. that I think it's silly to include. But I know some people like to have an idea of their calorie intake. read more

Stopped here with the family. My son is having a dairy and gluten issue and it was a fantastic place for deciding what he could and could not eat. Normally I'm a big eater but the large bowl was even too much for me and I had to take it home. Everything seemed to me like top quality stuff. If you want junky food probably not the place for you to go to. Price seemed a little high but if you don't mind spending 9 bucks on just your food then it's a great spot. read more

This place is totally what Grandville needed. Awesome, fun, fresh salads and bowls. I love Póke and was so pumped to try it. I'm glad it lived up to what I have had before. I had the póke bowl, no quinoa with added arugula. The miso dressing was a great companion. I also had a small cup of the chicken bone broth. Tasty but could use a little salt. Pretty Cool that they offer that. Also I tried a few if the lemonades and the coconut fruit punch - yum! Really great ambiance. Lots of room - it's a big space. The staff was more than attentive and very well trained. We asked about the sugar content in the beverages and she knew it very well. And even the sugar makeup. For a fast casual restaurant the food is reliable. Good option for eating when you're trying to eat healthier or have a restrictive diet as you build your salad or bowl by each part that goes into it. Think Panera built more customizable and no sandwiches. read more

UPDATE from previous review: My portion size was much better this time either the Spicy chicken and Ancient grains bowl. Not quite as yummy as the one I had last time, but still delicious flavors! I opted to get a side of green beans as well, which are nicely cooked and lightly seasoned for a perfectly balanced side dish! Blueberry mint lemonade was HEAVEN with some good tart, hint of blueberry, and sweet mint! SO GOOD! And all this for $13! Score! Also, based on their menu it says EVERYTHING is gluten free!! Great spot and food. Only setback is the busy intersection, but they have done a great job at trying to create a relaxed atmosphere to this plaza. Just last night, my boyfriend and I were talking about which restaurant we would choose if we could only eat all of our meals from there. I chose this place because there's such a great variety of food options. The braund are truly exceptional, and the venues used have always been fresh and crunchy. Their drinks bar is also pretty delicious, I always have a hard time deciding which drink to choose. I usually combine 2 flavors to get the best of both worlds. I don't believe I would go out of my way to find one, but this would be a first cut consideration if no interesting local fare is convenient. Had lunch here 01/22/19 really impressed. I am new to the Whole 30 diet (new to dieting altogether) but this place is the perfect fit for a healthier meal that tastes good. I had broth bowl with steak and partner had salad with steak and avocado. With drinks about $11.50 each. Clean nice facility and very friendly staff. I would recommend as a place to go. For those of you who have negative things to say- you should continue eating at Arby's, McDonalds, and Wendy's. I read a comment about "bland" soup... news flash - high sodium soups are not good for you and shouldn't taste good to you. If you're not willing to spend a couple of extra bucks to nourish yourself with healthy food- then go back to tropical smoothie. I have a very hard time understanding the mentality out here. When I called they would not refund my money, instead promised to "make a note" of the mistake and the next time I was in I would receive a free bowl. We just moved to Michigan/ Grand Rapids and had good trips to Corelife before. Today we ordered, in advance, two "big bowl" grain bowls. My fiancé's came back much smaller than the bowl mine was in. He mentioned the issue to the lady (he's a big dude and takes food portions very seriously) and she said that his bowl was actually an appetizer - which is most certainly not the case on the app where we ordered. When we showed her the phone and our order, she just kinda said sorry. The chicken in the meal was maybe the size of a golf ball. Be aware of portions and what you are ordering! read more

I really wanted to like this place and love the concept. It's a choose-your-own plate or broth bowl of all clean and healthy ingredients (aka lots of veggies). I can't speak for the plates because my husband and I chose broth bowls, which is essentially kale and lettuce as the base, plus up to 3 toppings, then steamed, and all dumped into a bowl of soup. You have 3 choices of soup base - vegetable, chicken and beef. We got the shitake mushroom and tofu bowl and the chicken tortilla bowl. You can get 3 different sizes - small, big, and "double". The big bowl is ~$8.95. The soup base was very bland - I made better tasting soup than this in college. The vegetable soup tasted like a very watered down version of tomato soup. I guess the plus side is that it wasn't salt-loaded, but it didn't even taste like anything at all. The shitake mushroom and tofu bowl had scant mushroom, but the tofu was very tasty. The chicken in my chicken tortilla bowl was tasty, but that was the only thing in my bowl that had any taste. However, we did enjoy the selection of lemonades and drinks, including apple cider green tea, cranberry cayenne lemonade, beet lemonade, old fashioned lemonade, etc. I would only go back for that. I think what tarnished our experience even more was that my husband had to use the bathroom immediately when we came back home! This is a great option for a low cal meal. That is with the exception that you are going to pay about $5 more per meal than you would pay for an equivalent dining experience (Panera, QDoba, etc.) It is nice to have a place that is primarily healthy, vs having to customize and also be around tempting high cal food. read more

I visited for the first time today and was very pleased. At first I was skeptical of the pricing; you have to pay more "per topping" after you hit 4-5 ingredients on a build your own salad. Once I actually sat down and ate the salad - I shut up over the pricing. The ingredients are fresh. You get enough per bite without overwhelming your palette. Nothing is shriveled or stale. That's a big deal for me. They know flavor, and they advocate that well. The items are portioned appropriately so you can gage these meals to a specific diet. Great idea to have a counter to order up your custom bowls or plate dinners. I opted for chicken plate and was a little dissatisfied that it was not hotter than it was considering it was served up immediately. Food is very good, but somewhat inconsistent. I ordered the same thing on two different occasions, and got something different each time. The first order included jalapeños, the dressing was different the second time, the avocado was missing the second time, and the cabbage was entirely different. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but those small things significantly changed how the food tasted. I preferred the first version (which is why I ordered the same thing again), but now since I don't know what I'm gonna get next time (this was through a delivery app), I'm hesitant to order again. read more
