this gave me food poisoning. my boyfriend ordered a chicken tinga wrap for me and it was not only lukewarm, but there was literally a single bite worth of chicken in my wrap. he ordered a steak and bacon wrap and he received 3 pieces of chopped up TOUGH steak in his wrap. the wraps were both 70% lettuce which would be fine given there was enough meat or other filling... there are absolutely no seasonings on any ingredients in the wraps, it is bland and just overall not worth the $27 we spent. our cranberry lemonades were very very bitter and tasted out of date. the boys working tonight even informed my boyfriend of how "nasty" certain items were. not a fan. will not be returning. which is sad to me, given i really wanted to enjoy this restaurant and return. read more

Tried CoreLife Eatery for the first time today. I was very disappointed. I chose a protein plate with steak, both roasted sweet potatoes and the roasted beets along with the field greens. My steak had no flavor at all and was loaded with gristle. My roasted beets were burned. When I went up to the counter to ask for beets that were not burned, they looked at their beets, realizing they were burned and told me it would be 18-20 minutes for a fresh batch of roasted beets. I did not bother to show them my steak at that point. I ate around the gristle, threw away my beets and left. I was not offered a coupon or anything for the inconvenience. For $12.50 (I drank H2O), I'd rather eat at Outback Steak House for a steak with a sweet potato and steamed broccoli. read more

We were very excited to try CoreLife tonight and were very happy to have a new healthy option in Bloomington / Normal, IL. On a recent weekend in Chicago we tried a place called Sweetgreens and loved it. Unfortunately, CoreLife was a major disappointment from our experience at the the other restaurant with a similar concept. The quality was not the same. The service was lacking. When I paid they did not ask if I wanted a receipt and I discovered later that a receipt wasn't put in my take-away bag. This town needs a healthy choice, but I would guess this place will be closed faster than it opened. Boo! read more

It's completely my fault I keep getting ripped off at this place. I should learn my lesson and stop ordering from them. If they get the ingredients right they provide the wrong size (regular when I order a large) or don't prepare according to the notes provided on the online order. Extremely frustrating. As welcoming as the architecture was along with the admirable ability to glance at the menu that is along the waiting line, the main dish I wanted was not available because they were "low" on broccoli cheddar and most of the staff were waiting on customers to walk in instead of getting the most popular choice ready again for more customers like me asking for that dish. Missed 3 stars because as a newcomer to healthy eating, my first step wasn't tolerable tasting and none of the staff seemed to get on top of putting out more of the most popular dish. Made first trip here and was impressed. Cafeteria style place where you lineup and order your entree at the counter and move down the line of ingredients. Vegetables lined up behind the counter is nice and adds to ambiance of healthy eating. The lineup is bowls. Green bowls (salads), grains bowls (rice, noodles,quinoa), bone broth bowls, and plates. Excellent grass fed beef, fresh tuna, antibiotics free chicken are meats that can be added to bowls or plates or you can go veggie. No soda pop Coke or Pepsi which is fine with me as they have a great lineup of flavored lemonade and teas. I had the Spicy ginger steak broth bowl with recommended veggies and sriracha and red chili sauce and was awesome. Wife has the Tuna/Poke grain bowl and loved it as well. Service was quick and friendly and price was little high 28 bucks for 2 but cannot complain as quality was excellent. Many more things to try we will be back. read more

I really truly wanted to love this place & was more than excited to try it, but I was definitely underwhelmed by the tuna poke bowl which didn't have enough sesame dressing (which wasn't the biggest issue) but the fact that the raw tuna did not taste as fresh as it should have been for poke and even gave a hint of fishiness for the after taste. I am a huge tuna fan, constantly ordering nigiri and sashimi, so I know that it's not my in-experience that made me dislike it, but knowing what true raw tuna should be like. Who knows, maybe trying something else will make me change my mind about this place so that's why I gave it 3 stars. My friends know me to be conscious about what I eat, and striving to eat healthy as much as possible. So many of them recommended CoreLife to me, but there isn't one in my area of Wisconsin. On a recent trip home from the south, I stopped to eat in Normal, IL. What did I see? CoreLife... score!!! My first impression?! It looked like a grocery store with its array of fresh produce on display! There were so many menu items to choose from, but since I love anything spicy I narrowed it down to the Sriracha Ginger Tofu & Ancient Grains. Hubs got the Southwest Grilled Chicken & Purple Rice Blend. The kiddos got Chicken Noodle Soup and Power Pasta. Both items were on the kids menu. May I say, I have to APPLAUD any place that refrains from putting things like chicken nuggets, hot dogs, hamburgers, and grilled cheeses on their kids menu. I hate that kids menus are comprised of the lowest grade food items possible! The food was every bit as good as everyone told me! The whole family was happy that we stopped in, and happy with their food. We also enjoyed sampling a few flavors of the lemonade, and even got a Beet Lemonade to share. This is rare for us, especially me. I usually drink water all day every day! I certainly hope to see more CoreLife locations nationwide, and especially one close to me!!! read more

I've been eating at CoreLife since 2015/2016. I still eat there occasionally (1-2x per month). The food is great, VERY healthy. The issue is the steadily rising prices and and diminishing portion sizes. When they first opened, the prices were reasonable for what you got. Now, the size of the bowls has gotten significantly smaller. No, I'm not just talking about the size of the protein portions. It started with the 'to-go' containers. They shrunk. Then servings got smaller in the double sized bowls they give you when you sit down and eat - yes, then those bowls got smaller. Then the prices began to change - first .50 increase, then another 1.00. Now, another year after that, and during Corona, of course - it is just small portions of overpriced organic grub. I understand planning formulas and modeling. Once you are established, people are into your product, and you've had at least one expansion within the initial critical time frame (usually 3years for small businesses, then 6years for expanded chains), you know your company is potentially 'highly successful'. This is the time to make a move on your bottom line. However, I'm now an 'occasional customer' and I personally know several dozens of others that are now 'occasional customers'. We all used to be regulars at multiple locations. Literally, purchase 2-3salads 2-4x per week. Not any more. Once or twice per month if I'm feeling it. Same for them. How does that affect their bottom line? They are going to do better returning to the base price point, getting more customer throughput than focusing on providing a lot less for higher prices. Demand is there but people are put off by the gradual increase in the price point for what they are receiving. read more

However, they lose a star for the inconsistency in the employees making the salads. You will go one day and get someone who is nice and fills the salad as they should, and then you can go again another day and the employee is rude/unfriendly and they skimp on every single ingredient. It is also really expensive. Easily will spend $25+ for 2 people if you get drinks. I also noticed during one particular trip quite a few people coming up to complain something was missing in their dish. They really need to be more consistent in their portion sizes because it is annoying for you to have to ask for more and then they act like you're asking for extra when you're really just asking for what you should be getting as normal. read more
