I am very new to yoga & had heard that Core Power was "intimidating". I did the free week and fell in love with this place! Everyone I have encountered has been great and very welcoming. In fact, intimidating is probably the last word I would use to describe my experience here. I have been doing the yoga sculpt classes & talk about the best workout around. All the teachers know what they are doing and will kick your butt. My favs thus far are Brittany, Tabitha, Rebecca & Kacey. I was first introduced to Yoga by my wife about 5 years ago. After moaning and groaning I finally agreed to try yoga. That was almost 2 years ago now, like others have said, there is no looking back. I currently attend about 5 times a week. The One thing of many that I love about Core Power is the multitude of choices. Once you join one studio you are able to go to classes at any of their other ones. I regularly attend classes at 3 to 4 different CP studios. Starting out I would recommend attending C1 classes which focusing on the basics, are non heated and move at a comfortable pace. C2 and C3 step it up a notch, moving into more advanced poses. These classes will get you sweating like you've never sweat before. The atmosphere is very friendly and supportive, you are regularly encouraged to listen to your body and take breaks if you need to. I highly recommend this studio for those of you who are just starting out. For those of you who are intermediate or advance CP still has a lot to offer with programs like Yogi Training and Teacher Training as well as their regular advanced classes. I feel the best way to go is a monthly pay plan generally around 90 for Student/Teacher/Senior/Military and 120 for everyone else. If money is short I think they still offer a trade where you can clean one of their studios regularly for your monthly payment. I wish I had some before and after pictures; but Ive lost 16 pounds since I started here in february of this year with a free week. I looove the combination lifestyle of doing yoga and then having yoga sculpt as well for toning. It gives you a mental and physical balance, something you dont get at a regular bootcamp place. Ive calmed my anxiety/depression and look great. Im not kidding, my ass looks great. Even in cheap jeans. My legs look amazing - and Im not trying to sound like a full of myself d/b, I have corepower to thank for this. Im wearing clothes that I havent worn in years, and am able to comfortably wear 4-5 inch stilettos because I have strong legs and weigh so much less. Sometimes I goto as much as 3 classes in a day. I just need that release. Even summer hasnt slowed me down. That was the decision-making detail that caused me to choose corepower over the other studios--the sheer number of classes they offer, times multiple locations. And Ive tried all the other studios, and they all have their pros and cons (as does cp), and they all have different personalities and atmospheres. But above all, I need there to be a yoga class offered every hour, they are there for you! There are even 9pm classes, how cool is that. Ive done kindness (love them, but they dont have hot yoga), Qi (love them, but they make you choose one location to stick to; or you pay more), the river (love them, but again I like more availability), the root (loved it, but parking sucks and I need hot yoga), so yeah....cp gives you more. I frequent grant, broadway, and co blvd, as do many other cp goers. They have great teachers - young, cute, good personalities. And the clothes, omg they have the cutest stuff. And seem to get new things in every week. Im not going to wax on the negatives; Id just say try the free week, and choose a place that serves your own needs. Its not for everyone. Im more fitness oriented, though I need to do alot of yoga to stay balanced. read more

I have been to three different CorePower Yoga studios, and while I like them all, I love the Grant studio. There is a huge range of classes to choose from. I tried the Yoga Sculpt class and it totally kicked my butt! The teachers at all of the CorePower studios are very nice and welcoming, which I really liked. I also like how nice the other students in class are. I would recommend CorePower Yoga to brand new students and experienced practitioners! read more

I ultimately decided to cancel my membership because of the price. I did enjoy the workout and I had a few favorite instructors (Hannah, Laura S, and Alina). I didn't enjoy how crowded the classes were, the corporate feel of the studio, and one particular instructor that creeped me out (the handsy, full of himself blond dude). I've moved on to another studio with a lower cost and better instructors. read more

It's great. I've been going for about a year and a half, and it still gets me motivated to get on the mat. Before class = tight, cloudy head, and grumpy. After class = loose, clear head, happy. Plus it relieved my back and hip pain. There are a myriad instructors, so you can pretty much pick your style/form/music selection. Responses to the haters: 1. Expensive. Yes, the single class cost is $17. Isn't that outrageous? Of course, you can buy a pack of classes for $10 a class or even a monthly membership where you pay maybe $6 a class if you go a few times a week regularly. And they have $8 classes. And they have free classes. And they have a student discount. 2. Everyone is looking at each other. Right, so how would you know this, except by looking around? 3. Ick -- it's too sweaty in there, and crowded. Guilty on both counts -- sometimes it gets outrageously hot, and some classes are crowded (usually right after work or at noon), although I've seen as little as three people show up. In some ways, isn't the whole mat-to-mat thing sort of inspirational? We could all stay at home and do a yoga tape, but we don't - we go practice with other people. Something to do with energy. 4. They keep hiring wack instructors and the good ones leave. My impression of Core Power is a place where instructors start out before going solo or moving someplace else. I've never actually had the guts to ask an instructor how much it pays, but I'm reasonably certain it isn't much. On one hand, yup that cool instructor you had at the time when you like going is most likely going to take a hike at some point. On the other hand, it's probably not a good idea to get too attached to one's yoga instructor. After all, isn't it your practice? The asanas are suggestions - you could just sit there in child's pose the whole time (not looking around, even) and they wouldn't kick you out. The classes certainly vary a lot, and generally that's why I go. If I wanted the same sequence over and over again, I could just buy a tape. Also, it's fun to see the instructors improve. I went to one class, and it was pretty bad generally. Then six months later I went to the same instructor and it was vastly improved. Somewhat inspirational. Anyway, if you're going to find a guru, it's probably not your place. 5. It's too corporate/like Starbucks. I read an interesting interview with Shepard Fairey (Obey/Obama design) regarding how "corporate" is too-often used as a derogatory term by people who dislike success. Perhaps that's too complicated for a Yelp review. You know what, I like Starbucks. I find myself in a strange city, with wolves stalking the streets, and and endless maze of empty subdivision streets. And out of the darkness there rises a beautiful green sign. I can go there and get an okay coffee, and they will be playing music that, while not awesome, doesn't completely suck. And for that, I appreciate Starbucks. Core Power is perhaps the same - it isn't the best. The best would be going to Hawaii with a famous instructor for endless great classes under the sun -- then maybe we'd hit the surf and eat sushi. But instead I only have an hour off for lunch/before work. And Core Power does a great job helping me with my practice within that space. read more

Some of the instructors are fantastic and one can see they are actively growing in their practice but this place really is of such a corporate mentality. Students are herded into an an overpriced one hour class that feels like an infomercial for the latest workout fad. For a corporation that is growing so fast and with studios opening up everywhere there is a lessening of the spiritual aspect of yoga. This is a place for a workout first and then if you have enough money you can sign up for the many other programs where you can fill up more of your spiritual tank. I'm sure the instructors are not paid much and wish there was more of an alternative for cheaper yoga. Yoga outside of this country is not 18 dollars and hour, doesn't require a 40 dollar mat, or 80 dollar clothes, or the latest convenient location. read more

I have to give this yoga studio 5 stars for multiple reasons. first, parking is free and easily accessible in the garage below the studio. The instructor greeted us at checkin, made us feel at home, and gave an excellent 1 hour hot yoga class. We were offered a one week complimentary membership which always feels good as well. Finally the inside of the studio was plenty big with plenty of room not to bump into other classmates. Bravo! well done read more

Yes, yes CorePower is corporate but it's America people!! Corporate offers selection, convenience, and flexibility. I was sucked into the CorePower vortex through it's FREE WEEK of yoga. I absolutely love going to Newsha's *Hot Power Fusion* classes. She teaches at Grant, Colorado, and the LoHi location almost everyday of the week. It's always the same routine which helps me to maintain a certain physical foundation. She's really sweet and helpful and everyone loves her classes! If you're not into hot hot yoga then try ANY of Jeremy's classes. He teaches C2 Heated classes and every Thursday he teaches a *Live Music Class* which is a blast. Those are my favorite two teachers at CorePower!! If you're concerned about the heat don't fret! The first class absolutely sucks and you may have to walk out but after one or two hot sessions you get used to the heat. You actually learn to love it because you sweat out all the toxins. All you need is a small towel to wipe your sweat every now and then and some water to keep you hydrated. The heat also makes you incredibly flexible. The price is expensive but you get what you pay for. I am a CorePower Yogi for life!! read more
