Watch out! They are using their subscription process as a scam. Their classes are good but their customer service is very poor. I had tried their 20 day free trial and only wanted to take one class. They warned me that it'll auto renew so I canceled a day or two after the class. After you cancel, you don't get an email confirmation so there is no way to prove that you've canceled the class. In addition, you can't tell if it was successful because you can continue the process to cancel it. Nothing shows you that your cancellation was successful. I called and got a manager to review my case who said that I have no proof so was charged the $175 after attending one class in February... I've taken a few classes here and there last several weeks, and have liked them a lot! I do the C2 stuff, and the yoga itself was typical for CorePower, with the flows, the room temp ~95º, etc. (Spent a couple of years doing it in SF, some random locations in CO and TX when traveling, etc.). The Yoga Sculpt classes always seem to be sold out, so book early for those if you're into that sort of thing. Like with all things New York, the studios are smaller than elsewhere, so class sizes tend to be smaller. Amenities: Like most CorePower Yoga studios I've seen, they have lockers (bring your own lock, or grab one from the pile), bathrooms, and showers. You can rent a mat, buy a water bottle, and/or rent a towel if you need any of those things. Covid stuff: The staff wear masks in the reception area. They have started checking for vaccination cards, so I feel safer now. Most people don't wear masks when in session, but I don't see any shame directed at the one or two people that do. Policies will change based on local conditions, of course, but overall, I feel like they're doing the right things to balance giving people yoga while keeping things reasonably safe. Bathrooms: I can only speak for the men's room, but it was always clean, functional, with a bench in front of the showers for changing. read more

Love love love this studio! I had come here on a whim with my friend because we felt the way we were eating that weekend, we needed a good cardio class to feel better about ourselves. Well we signed up for a 9am sculpt class and in the morning it was pretty tough to get out of bed to go. We eventually made it to the studio and I can see why you need to reserve a spot in advance! The class was jam packed! My friend and I were greeted by the studio manager, who was also teaching the Sculpt class we signed up for and she was so welcoming and energetic! The perfect start to a day is to take a class from her! (I forgot her name). Now we all know in NYC, space is everything, every inch is worth $$$ so don't expect a lot of space here in this studio. The studio was beautiful and bright! Quite different than the black wall and ceilings like other studios. It was white walls, white ceilings, and a light grey wood colored laminate floor. The yoga mats the studio provides (an extra fee of course) is quite fancy! I think it's the Manduka brand, which is quite different than other studios. Now, disclaimer for CPY members outside of NYC, you will have to pay a $20 fee to attend a class if you are a Black Tag member! No exception! I was a bit reluctant to do it, but I have always wanted to do a class in NYC, and you know what, it was an amazing class and the workout was worth it. read more

Bizzare sequencing, wrong names for poses, insanely loud music which leads to teachers that almost scream at times and an incredibly filthy Changing/shower area. Two star only for the decent Sculpt class. read more

Definitely a smaller studio in terms of bathroom size / class studio size, but feels very clean and well maintained. I'd prepare to come early to any class here because it gets crowded, but I really think they have some of the best Corepower instructors in Manhattan. read more

The most corporate and saccharine yoga and sculpting I've ever experienced. It's missing all of the main yoga ingredients - soul, mind body connection, etc...and adds a side of slippery ultra branded mats, lame music and fluorescent lighting -eek. read more

Classes are very good but their cancellation policy and customer service are really poor and unfair. Black tag is a scam of sorts as you will be charged extra is you do not make it to class eventhough they have promised unlimited classes. Very misleading. Additionally customer service was entirely unhelpful when needed. read more

This is for ALL NY CPY. I'm a black tag member from Chicago. I'm told when I got here that there's a TWENTY DOLLAR SURCHARGE. I'm so pissed off right now. I hadn't come over from LES I would've left. It's absolutely maddening that because their rent is higher they need to charge out of towners. I CALL BULLSHIT! A single class in Chicago is $25. A single class here is $32. They can't just do a difference of $7.00??? Class hasn't even started yet but I guarantee their corporate office will be hearing from me. Nicole K is the best instructor! She teaches C2 on Wednesday nights and her classes blow me away. She plays the best music, is so inspirational, and gives you a killer workout. You leave in the best headspace and definitely sweaty! Highly recommend her class read more

I went to core power yoga in Bryant park Hopi g to find a great hot yoga studio convenient to my work and apt. What I found was very overcrowded classs and a management team that doesn't want to promote a customer base but is solely fueled by massive memberships with no regard for their quality. Not only did I have to deal with the overcrowded classes but also poor quality merchandise sold their that is completely not returnable. Not a very Zen experience read more

I am NOT a yoga person. I've always found it extremely slow and boring but that's changed since starting Core Power. I did a free week and after the first class new that I was going to buy a Black Tag membership. I also typically hate anything hot with humidity but somehow its not bad at Corepower. Sculpt is a great work out - I love the incorporation of weights. Teachers are all so kind and good/hard in their own ways. I would absoultely recommend to everyone, yoga lover and non yoga lover alike. read more

Wow this was the worst yoga experience I've ever had. 45 people are CRAMMED into this 20x30 foot room. Literally, there isn't even room for the instructors to walk around and make adjustments. There are tons of people in the overall tiny space of the facility - there is no such thing as savasana in here, folks! And the "changing area" -- lol. What area??? A two foot bathroom?? There is ONE small bench to sit on in the unisex locker area. And the lockers themselves are a joke. I think my chihuahua could chew through that kindergartener's lock (not to mention, there aren't numbers on the locks themselves so you're at the mercy of your memory to know what locker you're in after class). The instructor herself (Adrianna) was beyond insufferable - loud, annoying.. I don't know what these people think YOGA is, but this certainly isn't it. read more

I've been doing CPY for years in different cities and have always had good experiences, so I'm honestly really disappointed. I agree with other reviewers' thoughts about the studio space. It's tiny. It literally looks like an apartment converted into a yoga studio where you're doing a class in what should have been someone's bedroom. And there is no changing area and only two small sinks in the bathroom. I get that property in New York is expensive but that's not an excuse to have a cramped facility, especially when you're charging what CPY charges for classes...this is the first time I took a yoga class where I felt more stressed after the class than I did before! read more

Decent classes, but some of the instructors seem inexperienced. CorePower appears to be simply a factory to teacher training (which they annoying hawk at every chance) and then you pay top dollar for a brand new teacher. Other studios have dynamic pricing models based on instructor. Additionally, the studio itself is often quite messy and even dirty - not very zen. I'm definitely ready to spend what they charge for classes, but not for the level of service offered here. Take your money to Y7 which is one block away and worth it. CorePower might work in other cities, but it's not really suited for the New York market. read more

Tried the free week of yoga here and immediately bought a Black Tag membership. I've been going every single day and actually look forward to working out. The teachers are really encouraging and give such great classes (Yoga Sculpt with Wren & Jenna is !!!!!). Plus, the studio is beautiful - the class I typically take overlooks Bryant Park through big glass windows and everything is so clean. I love this studio and am so happy to have found my home base for yoga. read more

Smaller than some of the other studios but I LOVE the Flatiron location. There are always great teachers at this one!!

I have been practicing yoga for a little over 2 years and have never had such a wonderful experience! The staff is super friendly and make you feel comfortable right away. The studio has a locker room for both men/women, a separate area of lockers to secure your belongings, and a boutique. It was extremely clean and had huge windows that overlooked Bryant Park! I've completed two Yoga Sculpt classes so far and have enjoyed both teachers. The classes are heated and incorporate typical yoga poses with weights. Love this place- can't wait to go back! read more
