I found this store while looking at Konami's website. They recommended them as a great place to find Yug-gi-oh cards. I shopped here and I found more than just cards, I found some incredibly friendly associates such as Vegan, John, and Ruben. Each of them answered all the many questions I had about set releases, decks, and other things. They were super helpful to me getting back into the game. My son and I drove out to this shop from simi valley. We had came across there website and were impressed by there selection. Although it was a little bit of a drive for us it was well worth it. We were greeted and treated with respect our entire visit. There's a white gentleman who wore a blue cardigan when I came in. Extremely rude, wouldn't look you in the eye, doesn't pay attention to what you say and is pretty much a dick. Horrible customer service from this guy with the laptop. Doesn't let you look at the cards you're wanting to buy and when I asked if I could see the selection he just repeated the price. These guys bought some cards from me and didn't return the sleeves. About 50 give or take. Those things ain't free! I actually bought them from you guys and you definitely taxed me more than I would get at any other shop including F&S. Pretty upset with the price I was given for my cards as well. I know I was low balled because when I said ok to the number the guy immediately said well I give you a extra $10 because I need to round up. Hmm... yea sure bud ok. Needless to say I'd shop somewhere else for cards especially Pokémon because they aren't geared towards that game they are mostly DBZ and Yugioh. I liked the big guy John he was nice and helpful and would give me good prices on cards I would bring him. This dude idk his name never seen him before he has glasses and dark hair.. lol pretty much every guy that walks thru the door. CoreTCG is my son's favorite place for pokemon TCG. They have a decent collection of sealed products and singles. They have league on Thursday and tournament on Sunday. They also run League Cup challenge and pre- release. Beside pokemon tcg. They also have Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Force of Will plus now the New dragon ball super card game!! I went to buy pokemon cards with my 7 year old nephews and they were excited to pick out some packs. We got up to the counter and the gentlemen behind the counter looked annoyed as my nephews were just looking at the individual cards in the display case. Well as they were choosing packs they decided to get shining fates and I asked how much each pack was and he quoted me $6 per pack. Me not knowing much and only caring about making my nephews happy got them a few packs plus some others. As my nephews were opening packs at a nearby table my brother went to buy them more shining fates from another employee and the other employee quoted him $4 per pack. So either the first employee upsold us or the value of shining fates decreased in a matter of minutes. I also dropped 175 bucks on a one piece booster box only to call 35 minutes later to be told it was 160 over the phone. The place is strictly a trading card store, thank god. It seems like they host a lot of tournaments on the weekends because when I stopped by on a Sunday, the place was swarming with players. The cards can get on the pricey side depending on what you're looking for. I picked up some Neo series Pokemon Cards, and they did cost a bit more than what i get online. However, they were worth it and the price correlated with the condition. If you're lucky, they're have the same cards in different conditions so you can decide what works for you. Check in on Yelp for 5% off singles. It's not much, but it's still a few bucks saved in the long run. Also, when it gets packed, be patient with the clerks. they're pretty cool guys but you can tell they multi task with a lot of things going on at once. All in all, great store. If I had more time and actually knew how to play the game, I'd consider playing a few tournaments. read more

In the area where I live there isn't much TCG shops around. When looking for cards you have to go to Target, or Walmart. I recently got back into the hobby of collecting cards, and I looked up TCG stores near me. This shop, and one other one the only ones close to me which is a one hour drive. I can say for a fact Core TCG was worth the one hour drive. It was busy which my brother and I wouldn't know it would be at the time. They were holding a pokemon tournament, but even with all that the staff was super helpful and very respondant. They were also really kind when answering my questions about certain things, and they even price checked an item I was buying. Also I think one of the items I boguth wasn't something they were going to sell too, but they were kind enough to sell it to me, and price check it as well. For those who play TCG, or just collect, or sell they are a good spot, because what you see online is pretty much what you're going to be paying or getting on your investment. going here. Overall though the selection is massive, and I am sure you will be able to find something worth of value even if you just came by to look. The card games they have from what I saw were Pokemon, Yugioh, and Cardfight Vanguard. Once again kindness is always cool at a shop, but to be kind during a busy time, and when it is really loud hosting a tournament like that was super impressive too me. The cashier that helped me was super cool, and really helpful. Not only was he helping me with my purchase he was making tournament announcements, and even price checking cards a person was selling. All in a while I didn't feel neglected, or that the guy was being rude. Was just an overall good dude and I appreciate that from workers. Overall awesome place, and whenever I feel like looking at some cards I will make the trip to get some cards. read more

After my first and final visit I have finally decided to write a review after a very disappointing experience. I am new to the yu-gi-oh trading card game and when I found out about their shop I was extremely optimistic. Only to be disappointed through their demeaning and patronizing employees. I had tried to ask an employee for some help when he continued to ignore me to talk to his coworker and another customer. After they finally decided to help I asked various questions on multiple cards especially a dark magician that I had wanted. Only for them to say sarcastic remarks in a belittling manner. I felt humiliated that they would think I couldn't afford the card(s) for whatever reason they may have had. It felt as if they didn't want to help me either because they held a bias against new customers for assuming I was a reseller or just in there for a fad. I will not be going back nor do I recommend others to go either. read more

The staff here is extremely petty, and will block you as a buyer from their store if you have an issue with an online order on sites such as TCGPlayer. I have given this company 100s of dollars in other pokemon card purchases, yet as soon as I have one issue, after they falsely advertised the condition of the card online, I am blocked and they are unwilling to talk to me about it. They only value you as a customer as you keep giving them money, as soon as you have one issue over a $19 card, you are expendable. read more

Came to this store for the first time this Saturday around 3 after having bought stuff from them online for some time. It's pretty spacey--lots of tables for dueling, and there were a lot of Yugioh players. Vegan, the clerk, was super helpful in finding the cards I wanted. I simply went on the Core TCG website, added the cards to my cart, and showed him the cards and he pulled them from the back within a couple of minutes. This store is cool because they've got a ton of packs, even some older ones, in stock, which is nice for someone who is more into the older Yugioh cards. I found parking pretty easily, which is a nice plus. ALSO, they did honor the free booster pack for first time Yelpers, so another plus! I'll definitely be coming back when I get a bigger list of cards I want again. read more
