Unfair and incompetent staff. My friend and I arrived before the registration cutoff of 9:30. There was supposedly a person cutting off the line for late people, but was nowhere to be seen. The people registering us did not notify us we were marked as late, when we should have been marked as on time, that's when we could have fixed it. They didn't say anything when we could have fixed it, and without being told how could we possibly know. These tournaments are poorly run and the staff is a joke. It wasn't until it was too late and all they said was too bad. But don't worry, they let us know we were guaranteed for round 2. That was an L we just had to take. We had a round 1 loss but we continued playing until round 5. A player who I have a history with had punched my friend a week or two ago, physically threatened me today and then reported me. I legally did nothing wrong unlike him and I had witnesses to the event but they did not care. They said they will do an investigation after I leave which makes no sense. It should be innocent until proven guilty but in America just like with the police it's guilty until proven innocent. This incompetent idiotic staff had made up their mind upon hearing the complaint and did not care that I was threatened or investigate. Like anyone in power they don't care about the facts just what looks right and apparently you can just yell first or scream louder to get your point across or be right. It's frustrating because this player got kicked out of 2 locals for hitting people and hasn't been charged, but he can cry to this ridiculous staff and whoever spoke first is right apparently. Just like with the police getting a call they laser focus and don't look with a clear view. Konami like many of its official tournament stores are run incompetently and foolishly. Just look at the banlist and how poorly the tcg and its stores are run. They just want our money and don't care about the integrity or balance of the game. read more

I have been shopping here for about 3 years now; went from Pokemon to One Piece. Vegan, Rueben and all the other staff are some of the best and most knowledgeable people I've ever met. They know a lot about every card game and have a HUGE selection. Yugioh, Pokemon, One Piece, Digimon, Dragon Ball, Grand Archive to name a few. Booster boxes, booster box CASES, loose packs, card sleeves (Dragonshield, brand exclusive, etc). Their preorders are the best thing to ever happen. Obviously one piece is almost impossible to find for retail, but be on the lookout and be diligent because they had EB-01 for $75 and OP-04 for $80 at some point. Overall best card shop I've been to, and would highly recommend for players and collectors alike. P.S. their buyback rate for store credit is 80% (CRAZY) read more

I have been aggressively buying TCG cards in the last few months and so far I am pretty satisficed with cards I got, but I encountered similar issues the fellow Yelp Brian G. experienced below and I wouldn't recommend anyone who's picky about card conditions to purchase raw cards on the website ahead of time because (1) it is hard to keep track what cards you actually pick up because sometimes CoreTCG may not have cards you purchased in stock (2) the staff takes about 3 days after pick-up to process refunds (3) there's a potential for the staff to mess up on refunds due to miscommunication between supervisors & other clerks and you may not get the correct refunds back because you do have to sign a document to account for what you picked up. I had an issue with my refund because CoreTCG did not have one of the cards in stock during my pick-up and the card was left out from my refund. Luckily one of the supervisors was able to sort out the issue - so a big thumb up for Vegan! Next time I will probably just have a print-out list of cards ready and visit the store in person to avoid this kind of hassle again. I would still use the website to order sealed products. Please note that the wait can be pretty long (30+ minutes) depending on what time you come visit the store. For example I visited at 3 PM on Sat and didn't have to wait for more than 5 minutes, but when I walked out there was a waiting line formed outside of the store. read more

It is a small blue door at the back. You are at the right spot. I opened up the door and there were many people playing cards in side. They have lots of selections at good price. Pokemon cards..Yugioh cards...etc.. I got my pokemon card booster box at only $84.99+tax it was the special of the week. It was really good price. Moreover, before I got the booster box, Originally, I got 2 of elit boxes, threw the receipt away in the trash can without thinking, and walked out of the store. However, I couldn't stop thinking about the special price of the booster box, so I changed my mind and went back to the store and asked if I can exchange it to the booster box. Been getting my Pokémon card purchases from Core TCG for the last two months and it's been very positive experiences every time! :) They had the booster box I wanted on release day, had the cards I wanted all prepared for me on a second trip I made after doing an online pickup in store. And most recently I've purchased from their shop through the TCG Player website. Packaging was great as well! Their employees are very friendly and eager to help with any inquiries I had regarding card or product pricing. TCG shops can be hit or miss in terms of environment, prices, and customer service. I'd say Core consistently delivers on all three. They use an inventory system unlike many other local shops that helps build your deck! Glad I came here. The staff was awesome. Got my car towed the first time I came, so DO NOT PARK ON ARROYO PKWY! it ended up being a very expensive trip to the card shop. The guy managing the Pokémon side of the shop wasn't at all helpful. At least, he isn't to players of other card games like Yugioh. They were hosting an important regional competition and he was a terrible communicator. He doesn't understand how Discord works either so it was impossible to join to get competition news (knowing the name of the shop isn't enough to get access to your group... you need an invite link). He told me to check the website for the discord and they had zero information on it. When I visited the shop to register for the tournament, he was extremely dismissive when I told him I was interested in competing at the event. Why is he working there if he can't help customers beyond Pokémon cards? Why host a regional level competition for Yugioh if you can't get people on a discord server? Millions of people use discord. It just isn't that complicated. This is only about the one Pokémon guy who provided terrible service over the phone and over the counter. I don't know the other workers at the shop and am not commenting on them. Reviews for this shop are mostly positive, so I imagine they are great in comparison. I was excited to go to this shop because it has a reputation for hosting decent local events in the past, but this guy just made the whole experience incredibly annoying and frustrating. read more

Truly one of the best card stores for Yugioh, Pokémon, and Magic. Not much for sports cards though. Prior to COVID, they had nice tables set up for everyone to duel and play card games. It is a nice place to go chill and purchase cards. They have an incredible stock of older booster packs and the newest ones as well. Singles are priced fairly in my opinion. Whatever the market dictates. Because of COVID the store only takes two at a time so there are days where it takes a while to get in but it is what it is. read more

Went here with a friend for a tournament for the first time after covid died down. Was a great experience, and the staff was great at managing multiple different card game tournaments at once, which is helped greatly by the size of the location. There is so many cool and hilarious decorations that are catered towards fans of their products, which makes the place feel like it's really passionate and not just business as usual. Their prices are very fair too, whether it's for unopened products, single cards, accessories like sleeves/deck boxes, or entering tournaments. I have bought from them online as well multiple times, and the package the items safely and they arrive in a timely manner. Been shopping with coretcg for a few years now. Shop owner and workers are always pleasant and informative. Although prices sometimes might be higher than big box stores they are fairly priced. I've been able to get unique and hard to find items here that are not available online or at the big box stores. I really like this place because you can buy some extremely rare and hard-to-find cards. And you can tell these are legit. I'm updating my review since I've tried buying cards in-store twice while picking up my online orders to avoid the 24-hour process online. I'll also say these could just be my own nit-picks but I've also checked their website in advance before attempting to buy cards in-store: On the first occasion a few days ago, I was given 1 incorrect card out of the 4 that I purchased. This is partly also my fault because I didn't take a closer look when the employee showed them to me (a combination of trust in them and my own distraction). I asked for "The Flute of Summoning Dragon" card (plus 3 other cards) from the "Yu-Gi-Oh! Starter Deck Kaiba" set. Given that I saw only 1 of this specific edition/print in-stock on their website I figured it'd be easy, but instead I was sold a different print of the card from the "Structure Deck Seto Kaiba" set. Not a big deal since it only cost $0.20 and any player could use an extra print in their deck. I didn't notice this until I got home. I specifically wanted the other print because it was a Super Rare card, while the one I was sold was a Common card. Today, I attempted buying 2 Pokémon cards in-store: "Dragonair - Base Set" and "Pidgeot Holo Rare - Jungle Set." When I got an email notification about these 2 cards from my wishlist I figured it'd be a great time to pick up the online orders I've placed and try buying the cards I wanted in-store. For Dragonair, the employee said they only had a print from the Shadowless Base Set, which is a different set and much more expensive, not the one I was looking for. After that, he said they did not have the Holo Rare Pidgeot from the Jungle set. I accepted their response and I checked the website again as I stepped out of the store and sure enough the website listed both cards were still in stock. Going on the website myself, I saw the Dragonair the employee referred to but as I scrolled down just a few items below I found the exact copy I wanted. This implies to me the employee stopped at the first closest option and didn't really bother to scroll down the page. When I searched Pidgeot, I saw they had a Holo Rare 1st Edition sold out (which is probably what the employee saw) but as I scrolled down just a few items below AGAIN I found the exact copy I wanted. Holo Rare Unlimited Edition - Jungle Set. As I picked up my order I was asked to verify that all the cards I bought were accounted for. Again, half trusting them and half-rushed, I confirmed that all my cards were accounted for and left. Halfway home, I discovered 1 card was missing from my order. I came back immediately to inform them of my mistake, only to find out that it was out-of-stock the whole time. That feels like information I could've used initially when I picked up my order and verified the rest of the cards. Bit of a miscommunication but I appreciate when employees communicate important things to customers like an item in their order that is out-of-stock even though the website listed it in-stock. Now, these things are small technicalities and human error, but it'd be great if they were more aware of these small differences and technicalities. I've literally just started collecting these cards again after years without playing the actual games. I'm assuming they use the store's website on their monitors. If that's the case, it just doesn't seem there was much effort in really locating the specific cards. Just the small things help the process be much quicker and efficient. During COVID, I'm much less inclined to interact with anyone more than is necessary. I hesitate to deal with too much back-and-forth and prefer to be in and out when I buy in a store. Moral of the story: You're better off purchasing your cards online if you want to be in and out and deal with the 24-hour process for each online order. Verify your cards when you do pick up. Otherwise, the best you can do for yourself if you choose to buy in-store is write down the exact card name and edition on a paper or on your own phone. At least you won't have to walk them through locating it in their system. Otherwise they're very polite and formal and the interaction is quite friendly. read more

Such a great place to be. If your hobby is trading card games (YuGiOh, Pokemon, Force of Will etc.) this little hidden gem is fantastic. The workers here are friendly and knowledgeable so they're very helpful if you have questions. They sell just about all that you might need from the cards in packs/singles, sleeves, deck boxes, and mats. They also host tournaments here if you're competitive but it's also enjoyable to those who are just in it for fun. The manager Vigen is always there and he is such a genuinely kind person and always eager to help if we need anything. I had a recent situation where the blisters I ordered were tampered with. I emailed them about what happened because I was very disappointed in the quality of the products I received. (blister/packs obviously opened and resealed, cards in the packs were stuck together) However, they were not aware of this and had no intentions for this to happen. The storefront manager reached out to me to talk about what happened and was very kind/considerate to resend the same order. The customer service and care is exceptional here. They even added two packs of card sleeves in the resent package, which I'm very grateful for. read more
