I would have never known this place even existed if my client didn't bring me here. The restaurant is small so there can be a wait for lunch. Its located in downtown Sierra Madre so they cater to the local residences and businesses. Parking can be found in the rear lot or on the street. It was a really nice place to just sit back, relax and hang out. I felt that most of their food was pretty average but my favorite item has to be the Brie Chicken hot sandwich. The Brie cheese just spills out of the sandwich....mmmmm..... Is it Greek? Probably not, but it was their best lunch item. They have a pretty extensive breakfast menu at reasonable prices. I thought the kids menu was a joke. 1 egg, 1 pancake, 1 bacon for $2.95. Now that's a rip off. I haven't tried the dinner menu yet but prices are gonna run you over $15-$20. My client says that their dinners are very good. Im gonna have to go back. Definitely not good for groups. If you're ever lost up in this area, give this place a try. read more

I had breakfast here this morning and it was pretty tasty. I ordered the Lucky Baldwin omelette (chicken, cheddar, cilantro, tomatoes) with the breakfast potatoes and a coffee. The total came out to about $14 with tax and tip. Kinda pricey, but I guess that's what you have to pay when you eat breakfast at a place that isn't McD's or Denny's. The omelette was really good and came out piping hot! I don't think I've had an omelette with chicken before so that was pretty interesting. I don't go to Sierra Madre a lot, but there we were on a Tuesday running errands to prepare for my girlfriend's daughter's birthday. My girlfriend insisted I try their gyro, telling me that she used to come here a lot when she was pregnant with her daughter and that she frequently craved for the gyro. Well, I'm not pregnant, and despite that I can tell you that it's just as good as she made it out to be. The gyro was juicy, with just the right amount of taziki sauce and vegetables. The fries that accompanied it were stellar, as was the iced tea. Not to be forgotten were the friendly smiles and service we got from Nikki and Vik. They were so warm and welcoming and Vik even gave us a slice of cake to take home to our birthday girl, with a candle and matches, even! So, Sierra Madre, thanks to Vik, Nikki, and Corfu, your lovely city is back on our map for places to stop in for a friendly smile and a delicious bite to eat. read more

Came for breakfast. I think the menu is pretty small. The rest of the food is served after 11 so go during that time. The eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly and very yolky when popped. The omelet was filled with spinach and mushrooms. I didn't like the homestyle potatoes. They were very soft and not pan fried well. read more

Man o' Man do I love this place! After a long hike up Mt. Wilson this is the place to come and unwind with a delicious meal and iced tea. Our male server today (didn't get his name) 1/20/2013 at about 3pm was the best... my friend ordered a meal that came with rice and when her plate came out it didn't have rice (no biggie) so we just asked if we could get the rice, he brought it out to us and was very apologetic... he even brought us out a yummy lil dessert as a nice gesture!! We have been here for brunch on several occasions. Brunch is really good and the service is great. Fresh squeezed orange juice - for real. Go crazy, try it all from Belgium waffles to standard eggs and bacon. All nicely done. This review is hard for me to write because it's been a love, confused culinary adventure. Corfu is a Greek / Mediterranean restaurant and there is the rub. Breakfast is awesome the Greek food is ok. I've tried the kabobs, sandwiches it's been more miss than hit. Not bad, not great. It's a good place though. I had only an offering from their breakfast selection, which was a little limited. However, I should note that their menu is a bit odd. They have an odd mix of traditional American dining fare as well as Middle Eastern selections like kabobs, gyros, hummus and such. Turns out Corfu is an English name for the Greek island of Kerkyra. Great place to eat for Mediterranean food. Everything came out quickly and was cooked to perfection. Tons of flavor but certainly not over the top by any means. Tried Corfu tonight for the first time with my friend that lives nearby. It was her first visit too. Service started out a little slow but the server was very nice and apologetic. He was the only one on the floor inside and we sat outside. The food was worth waiting for and moderately generous portions. I had the combo plate with skewers, the chicken was tender and so was the beef. My friend had the chicken picatta and it was also delicious! Vic, the owner came ou to check on us personally and was really nice and took great care of us. Nice to see a family owned business serving delicious authentic food instead of same old national chains. Can't wait to try it for breakfast next time! See you again, Vic! read more

A group of ten of us had dinner at Corfu last night-- the food was so good, and the service was great I had to write this review. They were great hosts for our event / gathering, they gave us a generous groupon discount, served us until well after they were closed, offered some substitutions for our many sampler platters to accommodate the vegetarians in our group-- my entree was delicious (pastitso) the salmon another guest had elicited oohs and ahs. The Turkish coffee was really good-- and I have to tell you there was constant requests to our waitress, no sooner did she come back than we had another request for her and she always served us so sweetly and with a smile. Great authentic food ranging from Greek to Mediterranean and even a a dish from Italy (Chicken Piccata) -- then after working the kitchen and wait staff to the bone we handed them our 10 credit cards and they cheerfully rang us up. My husband and I are regular patrons of Corfu and probably dine there 2 to 3 times a month. I like the Tuesday and Wednesday noon buffet which consists of Mediterranean dishes from salads, chicken kabob and beef, rice, pita bread, hummus, moussaka, etc. The hummus is especially good and they do prepare their own hummus. My husband usually orders his favorite beef kabob which is prepared to his liking, medium rare. The food is fresh and prepared very well to order. In addition the service is very good and the owner takes pride in making sure that patrons enjoy their dining experience. Overall, Corfu is very good. I have three favorite Mediterranean restaurants and each has something to offer that they do quite well. But, Corfu has the best Horiatiki salad, ever! The tzatziki is the most tasty, if you like garlic. Their moussaka is quite good. Every Tuesday and Wednesday they have a lunch buffet offering the opportunity to try a lot of their dishes. They have plenty of parking behind the restaurant. At times, the wait for your food may take a little while, but CERTAINLY worth the wait. read more

The beef came out medium per request, just the way I like it, on a bed of nicely prepared rice pilaf that is moist and flavorful. The chicken breast kebab is tender and moist but not over-cooked. Even the cafe latte is way better than I have expected. A very nice local bistro for a comfortable meal. As a plus, the owner is a very friendly, cordially down to earth person that will come to meet you at the end of the meal to make sure everything is to your liking, that by itself is getting rarer and rarer these days.
