Our server was very friendly and mostly attentive - we did have to remind him of some things a few times but overall, he took good care of us. We decided to split several things: -Seasonal Salad - Caprese-style with a bed of spinach, tomato and mozzarella. Pretty light on the tomato and mozzarella cheese but good. -16oz. Sirloin cooked Pittsburg-style (extra char) -Collard Greens -Macaroni and Cheese add Lobster -Steak Fries -Steak bites and mashed potatoes for my 2-year old -Chocolate Mousse Cake and Coffees for table Everything was delicious. I am not happy nor excited about writing this review because up until today Cork & Bull Chophouse has been my favorite spot. I have raged about this place to anyone that would listen. So booking a reservation for mother's day brunch was a no brainer for me and I was super excited. Upon arrival I was seated immediately. The service Kyle came over almost immediately and explained the mimosas. We received water and our drinks and then it was all downhill from there. We proceeded to sit and wait for 40 very long minutes for our food. This was supposed to be an "all you can eat" toppas type of situation. It made me wonder was this done by design to control the amount of food that was being served??? Idk? I will say that as I looked around this was happening to everyone not just my table. As previously mentioned I've been to this restaurant several times because the food is Always delicious and the service was 5 stars. The food was not good this time. We tried steak and eggs, Deviled eggs, French toast, chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, crab cake with Hollandaise sauce and yogurt ,with berries and granola. The server didn't ask what temperature we wanted our steak. My steak was medium well and the other steak was rare. We weren't told it was over easy eggs. 1 of us would have preferred scrambled. The only thing I loved was the shrimp and grits and the yogurt and berries. I will also add that $50 was taken off the bill and they comped my drinks. This was greatly appreciated. We arrived earlier than our reservation, and the hostess was able to seat us right away. The atmosphere was very pleasant with the exception of the table of 8 that was cackling away like they were at home. The hostess changed the menu, which was printed Happy Anniversary. Our server Whitney was great. We wanted to order the whipped bone marrow appetizer but it was sold out and they were going to rotate it off of the next seasonal menu. So we ordered the Crab Dip, whic came ith some toasted crostini. It had an amble amout of crabmeat with a hint of dill and a little heat. We got some rosemary dinner rolls with whipped butter to start. They were nice and fluffy and light. The Brussel sprouts were sweet and crunchy with the bacon onion jam, not bitter at all. I enjoy the lamb chops, which were not at all gamey and seasoned just right. The collard greens paired nicely (not to vinegary), with the smoked gouda grits. My husband ordered the KC Strip per Whitney's recommendation. He enjoyed the smoked flavor complemented by the garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. He was afraid it was going to be too lean but the marbling was great. For dessert we ordered the bacon brownie chocolate chip cookies. There were 2 with chocolate fudge drizzle served with Gelato. Disappointed to say the least. Made reservations for my Birthday and out of town family. Our son's steak had to be sent back twice due to it being over cooked. The manager came out and said she was in a meeting with the Chef (during dinner time?) The "manager" was basically condecending and rude and implied that the steak was fine as they used a meat thermometer. (The server even said the second steak was worse than the first). The manger stated she wouldn't charge us for the steak, interesting because it was sent back twice. I wouldn't expect to have to pay for it. This is really a good chophouse but if you go with a large party, expect to wait a long time for your food! We waited over an hour before the meals came out. And it was 1 waiter assigned to us for our party of 18. My favorite is the wedge salad. I love the dressing. And the crispy Brussels sprouts is also my go to side. Upon entering the restaurant, the space was beautiful, great aesthetics and a really nice overall vibe. When we arrived, there was a group of Black men sitting together eating and drinking, clearly enjoying themselves. We were greeted by the hostess, who was very friendly and polite, and we were seated quickly. It wasn't very crowded at the time; it seemed like we arrived just after the lunch rush. Originally, we were going to eat at Neat Bird, which is one of my favorites, but I had been wanting to try Cork & Bull. Our waitress greeted us right away and was very pleasant. She brought us tea, water, and lemons, then returned to take our order. We ordered the crab dip, which was visually beautiful but just okay in taste. I ordered the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes, and my friend ordered the steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The server was extremely attentive... almost overly attentive, which stood out to me at the time, though I didn't think much of it. The grilled chicken was slightly overcooked, but still flavorful and plentiful. I think it would benefit from being cooked just a bit less since it continues cooking when it's brought to the table. The sweet tea, however, was absolutely magnificent. My friend's steak was a solid 5 out of 5... very juicy, tender, and full of flavor. While we were dining, we called my friend's daughter to see if she wanted anything to eat. When she found out we were at Cork & Bull, she shared an incident we were unaware of at the time. She explained that 2 separate groups of Black patrons who were not together were asked to leave after an altercation involving only 1 group. According to what was shared with us, comments were made that were inappropriate and racially charged, including statements about not wanting Black people in the establishment. We did not know about this situation during our visit. Based on our personal experience alone, the food was good and the service was excellent. However, after learning about this incident, it's hard to ignore the impact it has on how the business is perceived. Having worked in management myself, I understand that situations can escalate quickly, especially if staff are not properly trained in conflict resolution. That said, the way the situation was reportedly handled was unacceptable. An apology should have been offered to the uninvolved patrons, along with some form of accommodation or acknowledgment. How situations like this are handled and whether leadership takes accountability matters. Based strictly on our visit: Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Hostess: 5/5 However, considering the reputation concerns and what we later learned, my overall rating would be 3 out of 5. The experience itself was good, but trust and accountability are just as important as good food. Truly the best service we could've asked for at 9 PM at night and that was truly all due to our server Jacob. We got some appetizers and main courses to split and it was delicious. Bartenders were very friendly and I got water while I waited and service was impeccable as my glass never got empty. After my food was about ready and I had already paid the bartender asked me if I wanted a water, soda, or anything else to go. I thought this was interesting even though I declined the offer as my hotel was super close and I was in the process of cleaning out my refrigerator as it was the last night in VA. The bartender also confirmed that the portions of food were huge and his information was correct. The portion of brussel sprouts was good and the sauce made it a little heavier, the pork chop was not a pork chop it was a double cut pork chop just not cut in half. It was perfectly cooked and super tasty and juicy. The brussel sprouts were also delicious and I think I wish I tried the restaurant earlier as I would have eaten here again as the service and food was great. The restaurant itself was large and new located in the bottom corner of a new luxury apartment building. The bar and kitchen was located in the middle portion of the restaurant. Had a daughter/mama lunch date with this first time visit. Lots of nearby free parking and the entire Summit Point area was clean and bright. We decided to try a little of everything and it did not disappoint. Our server, Lindsey was efficient and friendly. She gave us lots of time to enjoy our lunch but the time span between her coming to check on us was great for us. I was really surprised on the portion size were for lunch. The peach burrata salad is enough for 2-3 people to share along with entrees. The truffle fries were awesome and the Caesar side salad that we opted for with our sandwiches almost did not necessitate apps for smaller appetites, (but I don't regret getting and trying them!). I came here with my husband a few nights ago. We are new to the area and have been checking out restaurants around town. We had a reservation and were seated in the dining area, which seemed a bit more formal than the bar seating. We ordered oysters, she crab soup, the dry aged ribeye (chefs way), Brussels sprouts with bacon jam, and loaded baked potato. I have no complaints on the oysters or she crab soup. The ribeye was good and cooked medium rare as requested, but I felt it was priced a bit high...And to have it chefs way (an extra $10) I felt like that add on was not at all worth it for the sparse amount of mushrooms and onions we received. The sides are family style and meant to serve 3-4 people. The Brussel sprouts were delicious and crispy, but could have done with a little bit less of the bacon jam to make them less sweet. The baked potato was also delicious, although I'm not sure I'd pay $10 for a potato again. Our server was really nice and attentive and all the food came out timely. We did order the banana cheesecake for dessert, but after we were told they had it, we were told it was sold out. We ate dinner at 5pm, so they most likely sold out the day before. Overall, we enjoyed our experience but felt the prices were a bit too high for what we received. Our first visit to C&B was actually quite good! I was a bit nervous reading the reviews, as they are all over the place. The ambiance here is, in one word, odd. It's as if from the outside you're looking at an expensive restaurant and inside you're met with an interior akin to a 2-star family joint. I made a reservation for 4 on a Thursday night. Whitney was our server and was great! She shared the specials, had water refilled at adequate times and was social and knowledgeable. We started with the crab dip and my husband had the she crab bisque. Both were phenomenal! The warm bread with butter that came out was lovely also. I ordered the Oaxaca old fashioned and it did not disappoint! The right amount of mezcal and reposado; chef's kiss. On to the ordering; 3 of us got filet (1 medium the other 2 medium well). All were done to perfection and absolutely delicious! My dad had another cut (which I can't remember) but enjoyed it immensely. All of the sides are quite shareable. My dad wanted a baked potato and they were out of them ...huh??? That's just so weird to me. We ordered the brussels, mashed potatoes and asparagus and all were very good. The brussels were by far the best. For the price you pay per side, I thought the portions were generous. The drawbacks here are the noise and the ambiance. Our server was exceptional. She was not only warm and attentive but also thoroughly familiar with the menu, checking in regularly without ever being intrusive. For dinner, I ordered the special 13 oz Bison Ribeye with a peppercorn crust served over a bed of hash--potatoes, red onion, and jalapeño. Absolutely phenomenal. My wife enjoyed the 16 oz Kansas City Strip, which was cooked to perfection. On the side, we had flash-fried Brussels sprouts and fully loaded garlic mashed potatoes--both packed with flavor. The cocktails were equally impressive. I tried the Peach Please, which struck the perfect balance of tangy and sweet, while the Classic Old Fashioned was everything an Old Fashioned should be. Served with a touch of smoke, it was smooth and bold--I consider myself an Old Fashioned connoisseur, and this one was spot on. For dessert, we shared the Chef's Cheesecake (banana pudding cheesecake) and the Grilled Peach Shortcake--both rich, unique, and beautifully presented. This restaurant is one of, if not my favorite fine dining establishments in Chesapeake. Went out for a graduation lunch with my family and everyone was throughly impressed. We got the charcuterie board to share as an appetizer, which had a delightful selection of cheeses and meats- the pimento cheese was a personal favorite, and I ordered the Shrimp Alfredo for my entree. It was honestly better than any pasta dish I had ever had and I still think about it to this day. Everyone at my table enjoyed their meal and their cocktails. This place is pretty pricey, but the quality of the food and service is worth it. The outside seating was nice, but the inside was decorated with a rustic wood theme that made it feel more akin to a sports bar than an expensive restaurant. To be clear there's two sides, one that's set up for more of a nicer experience while the other is more of high top tables and bar seating. The server took a minute but she was attentive and nice. The fried shrimp was good and my steak was cooked perfectly medium. The mac and cheese was extra cheesy and you can definitely taste the different cheeses they use in it. For my husband's birthday, we dined at Cork & Bull in Chesapeake, VA. The restaurant is a chophouse that specializes in steak. Our server Steven was knowledgeable about the menu, and he informed us about the specials. For drinks, we had several bourbon cocktails including The Classic and Kentucky Buck. For starters, we shared a Chef's Game Sampler, which featured rotating fresh artisan game meats - Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage and Fennel Pheasant. They were paired with pickled vegetables - onions and zesty bread and butter chips and toast points. Kevin liked his Ponzu Marinated Salmon, which was finished with a miso glaze and served over pork belly fried rice. Brian loved his Cork & Bull Meatloaf, which was made of pork, veal, and beef, served with red eye gravy over mashed potatoes, and garnished with crispy onions. Jodi and I ordered the Farm Raised Venison, which consisted of coffee-rubbed backstrap venison medallion, finished with honey demi, and served with kale tossed with shallots, radish, and pears. The venison was a bit spicy and a bit more seasoned (too much pepper) than I had liked. The venison medallions were more cooked (medium instead of medium rare) than I had liked. We had a reservation for our one year wedding anniversary at 7:15pm. We started with having to wait almost 20 minutes to sit down. Once we sat it took an additional 10-15 minutes before we were greeted at the table. We did not receive anything to eat until an hour after our reservation time, not even BREAD. If it wasn't for the fact we stopped by the bar to get drinks while waiting for our table to be ready who knows how long it would have taken for us to get drinks. We got our order in and it took another 45 minutes for the app to hit the table. I understand with me and my wife ordering the 14 and 16oz steaks ( Both medium rare) it will take a little longer but 45 minutes seems ridiculous. My wife also ordered the chimicurri to top her steak and they told us they were out of it. We proceeded to order a sauce recommended by Kyle (wonderful server by the way and he wasn't even our server) the food was good so that was a plus but to have waited an hour and 45 mins after our reservation time to receive it should not be acceptable in any establishment. We ended up getting most of our food boxed up since we had already been in the restaurant for two hours by this point. As a person that manages a restaurant in a private country club and understand the struggles of the industry especially nowadays, my patience and understanding can only go so far before it seems like purposeful neglect. Also with it being the Saturday night before Mother's Day that should be a day you expect to be busy as do everyone else in the industry. After all that we had a very short apology from the manager and she took off our app, made a drink cheaper, comped the sauce my wife got after they ran out of the other one, and didn't ring in my beer. But still to have one of the worst dining experiences of my life to still have to begrudgingly fork over $185 plus tip ( still tipped the server because I'm not a total piece of shit) is absolutely abysmal. read more

Surprised my husband for his birthday and tried Cork & Bull Chophouse, a place that had been on our to 'restaurants to try' list since we've heard of it. As soon as you walk in you are greeted by a smiling face welcoming you in, tons of places to sit and mood lighting. Once you are seated, you are also provided bread for the table to snack on while selecting your meal. The food was PHENOMENAL and everything arrived to our table hot (which is a major plus in my book). We started off with crab dip as our appetizer and quickly expanded the table with an array of sides and our entrees. I opted for the crab cakes, which our server spoke highly off (and she did not disappoint. They were HUGE!). My husband ordered filet mignon Oscar style and mentioned it was one of the best steaks he's ever had. For our sides, we went with sweet potato casserole and Brussel sprouts. Overall the service was great and the only reason I'm generously giving 3 stars. My food was very underwhelming and I was disappointed. We had the two can dine Tomahawk steak. Steak was suppose to be medium well cooked and clearly it was over cooked, fatty and tough. The two sides were suppose to be truffle fries and a baked potatoe. Sadly there was no excitement to the fries because they lacked truffle and had literally salt and parmesean dumped on them. My visit to Cork & Bull was intended to celebrate a special occasion with my husband. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of our expectations. We started with the crab dip with homemade focaccia bread. The dip was a little bland but the bread was really good. For dinner, I had the filet mignon with mashed potatoes, asparagus, and demi-glace ($10 upcharge). I felt it was strange that the steaks didn't include sides in the price and you had to pay extra for them. The meal was good but not anything spectacular. My husband got the bison short ribs with mashed potatoes. He enjoyed the short ribs and fried onions, but his potatoes were a completely different texture than mine and incredibly dry. Maybe it was just an off night, but for that kind of price point, we were expecting more. Probably won't be making another trip anytime soon. read more
