The hospitality & service were great. We sat outside & the staff/management were genuinely attentive to everyone. The food struggled a bit. The paella was the only star of the four dishes ordered. The steak ordered medium was well, well done & the sauce was sloppy. The calamari was super soggy which likely means the time under the heat lamp was longer than necessary. Sooo... I found this place on Yelp a few months ago and we were truly excited at the experience... Date night, we headed out, had never been, Havent even really ventured to NewBedford like that. Drove around a few times to try to find some parking, the neighborhood is CUTE... Tons of things to do, cute little spots. Def a date night area. Found a close spot, walked over. The vibe is cute, the charm of the bldg is great, then it goes down hil.... We were seated in the hightop table AT THE BATHROOM DOOR, literally - Hubby's arm was literally brushed by the door everytime anyone went in & out... Clearly an awkward place for a table, but hey - we dont make waves, we just endured but it def added to the "Prob never again vibe". Menu is great, lots of options, we ordered a bunch of little things and some bigger things. Drinks were Meh, the food was GOOD, my sangria wasnt great, Hubby's drink wasnt either so maybe dont go for the drinks. Live music and that was decent, all in all it was a cute place & we wanted to love it but we just werent WOW'd, maybe on another night where we are aren't joining every guest in the bathroom! More than half of the mussels were closed as well which either speaks to old or undercooked and either way, No! Whoever was working the bar tonight refused service when we walked in at 9:20 PM. The bar closed at 10 PM and we said we would just get a quick drink. They refused service to us because they "already started putting stuff away". It's very upsetting because we had our engagement party there and we have loved cork for many years. We will never be back. read more

Fantastic mini paella best I ever had service was excellent and really cool atmosphere

Me and my wife went for a valentines dinner. We got the specials. $32 dollars for 1 short rib and spoon full of potatoes. The lobster ravioli? $28$ for 4 raviolis in a sauce that tastes like water. This place sucks since they lost the old chef. I can honestly say I will never go back to this place again. $140 dollars almost for nothing. read more

We stopped at this gem while cruising through the New England area. The vibe is everything, a little romantic but also fun for a group of adults. Wine options were great, they had top of the line wines and bourbon. We only had an appetizer but our waiter made the guacamole from scratch and it was delicious. I used to come here about 16 years ago when they first opened and came here a couple of times recently. The only downfall with this place is that parking is a pain. You have to park up the street and walk down the hill to get here. Other than that, the place is great. The service and wine are spectacular here. The Deconstructed Bruschetta was alright. My boyfriend and I have been wanting to come here for the past 2 years and finally checked it off of our bucket list this week. We came on Tuesday evening. Besides a solo diner, we were the only customers in the restaurant for the entire time we were there - I love a quiet intimate setting so I didn't mind but it did feel a little eerie. The food is a bit of a hit or miss. We had the red wine flights which was fun to do. The truffle fries and Brussels sprouts were amazing! The fish tacos were decent but nothing special. The gnocchi was served differently than what was described and the entire dish was about the size of a tennis ball. Definitely pass on this dish. For dessert we had their weekly special which was bananas foster bread pudding which was great. Our waitress was so sweet, friendly and helpful. The bartender on the other hand was loud. Although we were sitting on the other end of the restaurant, my boyfriend and I had trouble focusing on our conversation because he was talking loudly about his personal life to the new person he was training. I had reservations for lunch time on Father's Day. Amazing meal. I ordered the Sherry Chicken and it was beyond a 5 star meal. I substituted the roasted potato's for wild rice and had a $2 up charge. I fully recommend this dish, you will not be let down. I still cannot get over how chef can take chicken and infuse that amount of flavor in this dish. f you would like a free meal, go to Cork. The service was so poor our entire meal has to be comped! It took over 30 minutes to see our waitress and 40 minutes for our water and drinks. The calamari was cold and the other 2 apps came out over 15 minutes later. 2 sides of French came out first and the last person's meal came out 20 minutes after everyone else. The manager,Lisa, finally addressed our concerns at the end of the meal and really did not care or show concern. It was easier to comp out meal vs actually address our concerns. Unfortunately, the food is relatively good but the service is so poor I will never go again! Very Sad! I do not know how this place stays in business as it appeared the table next door had similar issues. read more

My husband and I tried a lot the tapas - chicken wings, koji ribs, eggplant empanadas, summer scallops, pickle plate - as well as the steak tip entree and the pineapple upside down cake. Everything was really delicious! The chicken wings were my husband's favorite, and I was partial to the pickle plate - especially the green beans and carrots. The roasted potatoes served with the steak tips were also a standout. The service was really friendly and the meal was perfectly paced. Horrible experience last night, July 20, 2025, at this restaurant. We have eaten here before and always enjoyed it. Entered tonight at 8:20, on time for our 8:30 reservation for 5 people, and were greeted by an extremely rude hostess. She refused to sit us at a table for 5 and said it was a fire hazard (in a half full restaurant). Then she had an inappropriate and flippant response when we requested to just sit near the bar. We have supported this establishment, even in the dead of winter, when there were two tables occupied in the entire place. But no more. The animosity and rudeness left such a bad taste with us that we could never feel warm or welcome there again. Fortunately, New Bedford has many restaurants happy to welcome us (in fact, we crossed the street and enjoyed the hospitality at the Black Whale). read more

We had a great time attending a private birthday party function for a good friend on the 2nd floor function room. The food was very tasty and quite enjoyable. They served us many hors d'oeuvres but the scallops wrapped in bacon, shrimp and the steak/cheese/red pepper eggrolls were the best! The bar staff and hostess did a great job making sure we had plenty to eat and drink and were very cheerful. The evening was fun and was well worth the trip from Boston. read more

Every single thing you get here is out of this world! I have been here 3 times with different groups of people, and have tried probably around 15 dishes.... and all of them were 5/5 stars. Cork Wine & Tapas Bar is a tapas restaurant, so plate sizes are small. The idea is for tables to get multiple tapas to be able to sample multiple dishes... which is the whole fun of tapas! The food can be pretty pricey, but is always fresh and high quality. They are located in downtown New Bedford, so there is no private lot - however, I have never found an issue with finding parking within a couple of blocks. read more

Where to start? We visited last weekend after checking out the Whaling Museum. It took us 30 minutes to order in a nearly empty restaurant, they do not have iced tea (according to our waitress), I was also told that they were out of the ahi nachos only to then watch an order come out 15 minutes later. When our appetizer eventually came out it was cold and our entrees took another hour to come out. Food was fine, albeit the burger was well done instead of medium rare and my fried chicken sandwich was grilled. The waitress couldn't tell us what beers they had and just didn't seem to know what was on the menu. Great service...Diamond was our server...very professional and personable...manager came by to see how we were doing, since it got very busy...food was excellent and fairly priced...and atmosphere was unique...very old building that had tons of character. Most unusual thing that stood out to me...when we arrived early (with a reservation), a few people were ahead of us...a party of 20-something girls having a birthday party (with a reservation), and a party of 6, which included a very pregnant young woman (without a reservation)...two people were hostessing, moving people along very efficiently...the birthday girls were escorted away to their table and the second hostess, seeing the pregnant woman looking uncomfortable, hot and tired, asked if we would mind if she seated them ahead of us...I was very impressed with that level of consideration...of course, we said no problem and she moved them to a large outside table...the manager then came right over and took us to our table....I haven't seen that kind of kind attention in a very long time...will definitely come back! read more

Upon arrival I was greeted by two very friendly people. The same service level with our server, Loretta. It was our first visit and she explained the menu items well and made suggestions of her favorites. Also, she was able to make a cocktail for me that was not even on the menu. The food was fantastic. They were very nice with taking both off the bill. The menu could definitely use more variety. I don't know that I would return.
