Lobster Mac and cheese MP $28 on our visit.

Set beside New Bedford's working harbor on Pope's Island and Fairhaven, the restaurant and adjacent Fishermen's Market. The menu has comfort food and creative dishes. My littleneck clams served with chourico in a spiced tomato broth with toast points was fresh, delicious and perfect for a light lunch. The lunch menu changes so you can get steamers, mussels, crab cakes in season. The entrees are substantial with a range of fish and meats cooked on their grill, fried, or baked and served with your choice of vegetables or salad. Their glass bar is a highlight and the "stuck on the bridge" signature drinks is worth the visit.

Perfect Anniversary Lunch by the Water!"If I could give Fathoms 10 stars, I would! My husband and I had an unforgettable anniversary lunch here today. The harbor view was highly entertaining; we loved watching the boats pass by and seeing the bridge open a few times for the larger ones. Our waitress, Ambar, was an absolute ray of sunshine on a gloomy day, checking on us constantly to ensure everything was perfect. The food and drinks were flawless:Cocktails: Excellent Old Fashioneds and delicious 'Mermaid Kiss' drinks--we gladly ordered two rounds!Appetizers: Rich clam chowder packed with clams, and melt-in-your-mouth maple bacon-wrapped scallops.Entrees: Fresh, non-greasy fried scrod and scallops for him, and a massive, incredible strawberry chicken garden special salad for me.Desserts: Heavenly crème brûlée cheesecake and lemon berry cake, plus carrot and turtle cheesecakes to go!

Indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of parking. Outdoor pavilion had a red canopy that made everything you are eating look red tinged, which you can see in my photos. They should reconsider that color. You can make reservations online. They accommodated a butter lobster roll vs mayo which was nice. Plenty of lobster meat and looked delicious. However, meat was on chewy said and made me feel it was not fresh as certain parts of the lobster should be soft. So I was not a fan of the roll but maybe would try more towards peak season in the summer. Took scallop risotto to go for the hubby and that was actually excellent. Large menu and service was great. Overall, we would stop by again.

    Disappointing mojito

We stopped in this weekend for a quick bite to eat and it's been years since I've been here. We chose to sit outside as it was a nice day. I was very disappointed with the mojito I ordered, it was pretty half ass as nothing was muddled and tasted bland. Not great when you're expecting something refreshing. We ordered a sushi roll and chicken & vodka sauce. Both were delicious. Our server seemed like she wanted to be anywhere but there. She didn't smile once and instead of asking if we wanted to look at a dessert menu she quickly smacked one on the table as she walked by. We probably would have stayed a little longer if she provided a little better service or didn't seem so miserable.

Consistently great meal. Portions have gotten smaller. Bartenders are awesome. Drinks great. Love the new set up in the seafood store next door. Glass bar needs to be fixed. Not lighting up. Great water view.

Lobster Salad Roll, Shrimp Scampi and Pesto Scallop linguine pasta

Lobster roll was so good and the coleslaw was perfect. I don't even like coleslaw but that was the best one if had near here. Had a reservation and was sat immediately. The waitress came by a few times and made sure we were doing good and checked if we needed anything. The pesto scallop pasta was fine, not amazing like the reviews had me think. But not bad, I think I just like cold seafood. ALSO I'm pregnant so I'm easily made nauseous by warm foo right now. Overall good experience and very private seating in the back. Random comment-- but the bathroom was really nice. Something about a place having a clean and nicely decorated bathroom gives me the best vibes. The owners care about everything, even the small details. The hooks were little gold whale fins and the colors were all giving elevated sea theme.

Fathom is a groovy place that merits a four-star rating. It could be a five star if it weren't for what is best described as a major peccadillo. I will reveal this peccadillo at the end of the review: It is a phun building that features a giant lobster (not a real lobster) on the roof. This is a great landmark and makes the joint easy to spot. The staff is friendly with young college-age girls as staff. They were all bright-eyed and bubbly. The bar area is kool with a glass-wave-art sculptural bar top. I like that. It shows they care enough to blow some big bucks to please the customer and make this joint real groovy. Our booth was kool but featured major duct-tape "repairs" to the upholstery which took it down a notch. I do hope they will fix this as it makes things ghetto to an otherwise fairly well-kept joint. Moey got Whole Belly Clams Fried with Fries. I got the Seafood Pladder with WBCs. Prices are decent and the Ice Teas were "only" two phiddy each and were refill. Our food was good and a very decent portion. The menu was fairly extensive with "the usual" seafood stuff and nonseafood stuff too. This joint features a great seafood market in (at) the restaurant. Live lobsters are cheaply priced (exactly on par with Demoulas) and they even have big lobsters up to five pounds plus. HUGE kudos for this and they steam 'em free (up to five pounds). The" water-view" is admittedly a bit janky as it is in an industrial area but has commercial fishing boats and has a draw bridge right next to it which we saw in action -very phun. Peep it out if you're in the hood. NOW for the major peccadillo: They do not make ONIONS RINGS! Hello? McFly? !!! O-rings are de rigueur for Seafood Pladders, aye? This is New England! Please hook us up with O-rings and you get five stars.

We arrived around 9:30 PM and placed our drink and food orders. Payton was truly wonderful--so efficient and reliable. They made sure we received our drinks promptly, even with the music playing in the background. It really made our experience more enjoyable.

Seated quickly (we had reservations... highly recommended) on a busy, loud Friday night. Our server was quick and warm, answered a couple of questions, and took our orders. I liked my chowder; G liked the lobster bisque a lot. I ordered Coconut Shrimp for my meal: excellent.

My husband and I made reservations for a Saturday night when we were on our way home from Nantucket. We had a high top table by a window. The lights are dim and it's a bit romantic, but with a fun vibe as the music is quite lively. The pumpkin martini was a special and it was very good . For my meal, I got the scrod and scallop casserole with roasted potatoes and broccoli. it was delicious. My husband got the swordfish piccata, which was on special. He said it was also very good. For dessert, we shared the carrot cake. It was our first time here, but we will definitely be back .
