    Chocolate Timbale!!!
    Jan M.

My husband and I were happy to see Matt, the owner and long-time Bacchus restaurateur who we have enjoyed talking with over the past 25+ years, both here and at the former location in Kildeer. The wine cellar atmosphere and dim lighting make the space feel warm and cozy. I particularly appreciate this since bright lights affect those of us who live with vertigo issues. On this occasion we were not overly hungry but stopped in for some adult beverages and a light bite. Always consistent, the Goat Cheese Phyllo is a favorite appetizer. We were excited to see the Chocolate Timbale as a dessert option. It had been a favorite of ours over the years. Yum! Our bartender and server Paco was always hard at work, yet attentive and quick to replace our empty glasses. We especially enjoyed the Estancia Meritage and picked up a couple of bottles to take home. It was a perfect way to start the weekend!

We visited long ago when they were near Deer Park. We have been passing by the new place everyday since it was built. We decided, since there's limited good restaurants in Lake Zurich, to visit since we were celebrating an anniversary. We are both so glad we came! More than we expected- we're already planning our trip back!

This is our old favorite that moved to a new location a couple hours ago. The goat cheese philo is my favorite. We had the special tenderloin and the bass's fish and both were v tasty. The crime Brule is their Star dessert!

Great service by Paco at the bar. We had delicious appetizers. Looking forward to the warmer weather so we can sit outside next time.

My friend and I had an unforgettable evening at Noe. We went on a Tuesday night and, to our…read moresurprise, were the only guests in the restaurant -- which turned the entire dinner into a deeply personal, almost private dining experience. From the moment we walked in and were greeted by Jimmy, our butler/bartender, we felt welcomed and taken care of. The hospitality was warm without being stiff, and the service had a level of attentiveness you rarely find anymore. Chef Robert Gadsby personally came out to introduce himself and his team, and he remained hands‑on throughout the entire evening. Over the course of 12 beautifully crafted courses served across about 2 1/2 hours, he tailored each dish to our tastes. Before every course, they asked thoughtful questions about what we liked, what we didn't, and what we were curious to try. It truly felt like the menu was being created just for us. The only small downside -- and I mention this with appreciation for the chef's passion -- is that Chef Gadsby spent quite a bit of time sitting with us and talking during the meal. He's a wonderful man with fascinating stories, but at times I would have preferred to simply savor the flavors and enjoy the quiet moments between courses. Still, his enthusiasm for his craft is undeniable. Overall, the food, the service, and the level of personalization made this one of the most memorable dining experiences I've had. We will absolutely be back. I highly recommend Noe to anyone who considers themselves a foodie or loves a meal tailored to their tastes. And if you can, try going on a quieter night -- the personalized experience becomes even more special.

This is a tough one to review because it's unlike any other restaurant I've ever encountered…read more To tell you anything would ruin the surprise. (So maybe stop reading.) Let me just start with there is no menu. You talk with the Chef individually and then it unfolds. Totally novel. I've been a few times now and thoroughly enjoyed it. Nothing is pre-prepared so it takes a little longer than other restaurants. I prefer a late night Parisian style of unfolding movable feasts. This suits my style, but it may not work for everybody. (But "everybody" also eats dogfood at McDonald's. So who cares?) The chef's pedigree is quite remarkable. He's cooked throughout the universe and how he ended up in Barrington is yet another story. Let me know what YOU think.
