I wanted to love this place so badly that I honestly have mixed feelings about writing this review--but I feel like it needs to be said. After two previous visits, we were finally able to make a reservation and actually experience brunch. First, I want to say that the staff were genuinely kind. We were greeted and seated right away, and the manager was very apologetic once they became aware of our experience. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. We were a party of four, and we waited almost three hours for our food. We placed our drink orders and waited about 45 minutes without receiving them. Our waitress never brought them out; someone from the kitchen eventually came through, and we stopped her to ask about our drinks. She brought us Arnold Palmers, although that was not what we originally ordered. All four of us ordered the catfish plate with collard greens and macaroni and cheese. The macaroni and cheese was actually pretty good, but the collard greens were extremely salty, so we had to send them back. Unfortunately, the catfish was also much too salty. To make matters worse, my food came out about 15 minutes after everyone else had already started eating. At that point, I asked for my meal to be wrapped up to go. I really do love the concept and potential of this restaurant, and I genuinely want to see them succeed. However, based on our experience, I would not recommend visiting just yet. There are definitely some kinks that need to be worked out, especially with the kitchen and service. We received a sincere apology from management, which I appreciated. I may give them some time to get things ironed out and try again in the future. I really wanted to love this place. Unfortunately, this visit just wasn't it.

I'm so sorry to do this. But unfortunately for us. The experience missed the mark. It's a beautiful little building with great potential. Honestly, the staff is really nice. We had a one o'clock appointment, got there on time and was seated. Our waitress came and took our order, but never came back to check on us even an hour later. It took the owner's sister to come out to get things situated, and even then it was still a slow process. Although we appreciated her efforts, it just was awful experience. In total, it took us about 2 hours to get our food. Although the food looked great, you can tell somethings were rushed. I truly appreciate them trying to make things better. But I gotta tell the truth. I'm willing to give this place another trial. But hopefully they learn from their mistakes. I believe the potential was there, but it may help. If you got people who cared about the establishment, as much as you say, you do.

First timer here! I've seen videos and reviews on TikTok that convinced me to give this place a try. Our friends and neighbors invited us to dinner, not knowing this was the place. 6:30 reservation, and yes, it's best to call ahead, as the dining area is small. Had no idea exactly where it was, but as we got closer, we started to recognize the area. It's an upcoming area that they consider "The Square". If you've visited The Grove in Snellville, it's similar. The Grove is larger But this area is exactly as I described: a square housing restaurants and salons. Most of the stores had closed for the day Cornbread and Butter seats maybe 30-40 ppl, including the bar stools. The bar serves liquor only, if I'm not mistaken. Casual ambiance from what I observed. Jeans, jacket, shorts, etc. As I was snapping pictures, the owner was sitting next to us with his Consultant. He shared his background and how long he has been in the area. Very nice guy who loves to cook. He's born and raised in MS Our friends have eaten here before, so they guided us on what to order. I ordered salmon w/petite potatoes, Cesar salad, and Mac & Cheese. Salmon was cooked to perfection. Tender and seasoned just right with lemon butter Hubby ordered pork chops, sweet potato soufflé, and skillet-fried corn. He noted it was all delicious. Chops were lightly fried with a hint of spicy . They are a generous portion, about the size of your hand. Friends ordered catfish fillets (2), okra, green beans, and chicken & waffles. Catfish was lightly fried, very flaky. Delicious! The green beans had a hint of pepper (spicy), but they were good. Same for the chicken I ordered the collard green dip. Think of spinach dip except it's collards. Topped with cheddar cheese. It was tasty, but more so of the smoked turkey meat that is chipped up throughout the dish. It's served with chips (fried pita bread) The strawberry cornbread reminded me of a cupcake. It's a cornbread muffin topped with strawberry sauce. It's good! I only had a forkful of the peach cobbler, but let me tell you it's delicious! I will eat more tomorrow Overall, we enjoyed our waitress's service. She was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. Not only that, she repeated the orders back to us to make sure it was correct. She got it right! The food and ambiance are enough to go back. The owner stated he will be adding poetry night. A live band is there on weekends only. If you're in the area or have seen the videos on social media, stop by and give them a try.

TV show chef diner hits the spot with his flavorful dishes. The short ribs speak for themselves. They were amazing. Collard greens and sweet potatoes were a great match. The peach tea paired well with the meal. We drove an hour and enjoyed it very much. They filled up quickly so make a reset if you plan to attend. The place is welcoming and the servers make you feel at home.

I saw this restaurant on TikTok and instantly knew my mom would want to try this restaurant. She watches the chefs cooking show and I've seen a few episodes as well. I made a reservation for dinner. I was so glad I made a reservation as this restaurant was pretty busy as soon as they opened. Service was top tier from every employee we encountered. Our server was Zoey and she was very knowledgeable and offered a few suggestions. We ordered the Korean short ribs, collard greens and sweet potato with the peach jalapeño cornbread. For the beverage we ordered the peach tea. The food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I love a new locale for a brunch date without the traffic for travel! This spot was recommended, so let's get to the review! Service -- You definitely can tell they are new new by the slow response times (most of the hostesses appear fairly young and likely inexperienced). The older staff took the reins and saved this review from being a strong two (2)! I waited several minutes to be greeter and then was told because I did not have a reservation, the only availability at that time was the bar. Say less! I posted up at the bar and ordered a simple berry lemonade. Tasty! Next, I ordered the two-piece (white) chicken meal with collard greens (yummy, with a little kick) and Gouda macaroni and cheese (a little dry for that early in the morning, but it wasn't "bad"). The chicken was flavorful and fried to a golden crisp! The vibe (ambiance) is what I would return for. Chef Richard came out to box up my leftovers -- he was on point and really saved the service review! The DJ -- Honey! He passed all the vibe checks to make this family friendly spot worth coming to with or without a date! Overall, I will return and try some other eats! Because they are new, give them grace as they sort out the flow of general food service (Tip to the staff - please check on your patrons!!).

The waffles (ordered the sweet potato and cinnamon toast) came to our table lukewarm and everything was à la carte. The waffles were overpriced at around $14 for the waffle only! The service was outstanding and everyone was friendly. It is nicely decorated with only about four tables to sit at inside with outdoor seating space and bar seating.

Sunday was our first time here, but it won't be our last! They have dining room and patio seating. Be sure to make your reservation. Chef Jernard Wells made sure he came out and spoke to patrons. His recommendations for side pairings was on point. We started with collard green dip and salmon bites, delicious! My wife went with the shrimp & grits, that signature sauce is definitely a secret weapon. I went with the Korean short ribs, mac & cheese, and green beans, amazing! They had a DJ, so the vibe was nice during our meal. Trust me, you want to try them out.

How do you prepare and send undercooked chicken. I gave this restaurant a second chance. I give up! No more.....

Very disappointed. Fried chicken was undercooked. Too expensive to be so sloppy. Fried fish was a disappointment . First time was great! Inconsistent. I give up!

My food was great, well seasoned! I had the fried catfish and others had the bbq shrimp, and cinnamon roll waffle, fish and grits. All of our food was great. The service was exceptional....hospitality from Mississippi! Try the collard green dip.... You will not be disappointed! Nice location.... Make a reservation on the weekend!

Lobster with Lobster & Grits. This dish was amazing. I love that it was the perfect size for one.

The food at Cornbread and Butter was amazing! Our waitress was very attentive to our table. The music was really loud for the space of the restaurant. We asked to have it turned down but was still too loud for us.

Ordered peach and jalapeño cornbread; inside of the cornbread was not done. The manager said they were trying out a new recipe and made them bigger.. My suggestion would be to make mini cornbread (because your name is cornbread and butter) and have this as a free bread option to your patrons. Fried shrimp starter was excellent and I had the sausage and collard greens quiche, which was good. After they work out the kinks I will dine here again.

Return today and we shared Shrimp & Grits and Sweet Potato waffle without the caramel. Both dishes were delicious.

Its honestly insane that I've been coming here since the beginning and have never taken the time to…read morewrite a review. I remember the first time I walked in with my bestie. RC had approached her with a flier at a gas station, informing her that his restaurant had just opened up. Anyway, I'm ordering my meal, the same meal I always get each time I go. Fried fish (whiting), collards and the baked beans (unmatched). And he goes, "What would you like to drink?".... I'm like, "What do you have?" (Assuming the usual. Sweet tea. Lemonade... I was probably gonna go with sweet tea. ) He lists sweet tea of course, and then hes like, "Kool-Aid, coke, sprite" - IM LIKE WAIT. DID YOU SAID KOOL-AID?......... He's like, "Yeah??..." Im like, "what flavor???.... "Purple?...." I had never heard of that at a restaurant, and quiet frankly, that's all I needed to know. At this point, I literally go nowhere else for soul food. Also, RC is amazing. Really good guy, and his team offer the best service as well. A job well done, always.
