This place is a little pricey for repairs but the mechanics are straight up and honest with you. They don't try to up-sell or cheat you, which is a rare thing with mechanics. Their work is good and solid. I've never had any problems when I used to go to them years ago when I had an old Bimmer. My family has a business close by, so we've always had very good relations with the Tony (the owner) and his employees from the very beginning. They've always been nice and friendly. My favorite mechanic is Eddie. Ask for him- he's very well knowledged and professional, even if he seems short and curt with his responses. I don't get my cars serviced there anymore, but I still go in for the coffee. They serve Gaviña Gourmet Coffee, which I really like. read more

I stop here for gas every so often. Sometimes, I add the automated car wash as an option. Everyone who works here is always friendly and professional. Service is outstanding. This morning, while I was filling the tank with gasoline, I saw one of the attendants coming out of the car wash maintenance center and asked if everything was running smoothly because I was thinking of having my car washed. The attendant said everything was fine. I went ahead with the wash, which was fine, and, afterwards, when I was checking my car, I asked the same attendant, whose name is Walter, whether he had some microfiber cloths. Let me just say that Walter went above and beyond my expectations in meeting my request. He was extremely kind, decent and professional. Highly recommended. read more

This is a great independent station. The gas prices are always competitive, if not cheaper than the surrounding stations. The owner, Tony, is very nice and friendly. I needed air in my tires once and the kid who worked there was more than helpful giving me a hand. We have had small things done to our cars, smog check, tune-up, etc. and they have done a nice job. They have just added a pump for "full service" for those who need it, which of course adds to the price, but that is to be expected. I live near this station and must say they keep it pristine. They are always adding a coat of paint here or there and have recently added a little outside sitting area with flowerbeds. They have also expanded the inside by adding coffee, drinks, a little food, etc. Nice business to have in the neighborhood. read more

I've been to this station many times as I live in the area...I will NEVER EVER GO BACK! I needed gas and air in my front right tire. I said to the guy behind the counter, I'd like $20 and could you please check my tires as I know one really needs air. He said I will but the first tire is free and if any others need air it will be $7.50 PER TIRE!!! I reiterated what he just told me because there is no way I heard him correctly and in his arrogance, he said I heard him correctly. I got $10 and said I will never ever be back. I have never heard of charging for air and question if this is station policy or not....especially after reading a guy charged him a dollar to use the restroom. Something is not right. I will never go back to Cornejo's Service Station. I would like to give them zero stars. read more

I have been coming to Cornejo's for over 10 years. I live near the beach and we even pay for AAA extended tow to cover the tow fee. I've lost count of the times I've brought one of our cars in becuase someone has suggested "a problem" (usually when my husband decides to get the oil changed at Midas or such) and Eddie or Tony has refused to do work that wasn't necessary. As a woman it's very refreshing to be able to patronize a business that doesn't try to take advantage of my limited auto knowledge. Highly recommended! Honest and trustworthy. read more

Love these guys! Awesome service and they really do an amazing job. Totally honest and hard working. I had another mechanic really do a bad job and about 7 or 8 months ago after feeling something wasn't right I took it to these guys on a referral and they sorted out the problem immediately. Recently I hit something on the freeway and did a lot of damage. These guys really took care of me and walked me through step by step everything they needed to do and did a great job. I chose this place for my smog check because it was on the DMV list as a STAR Smog Check place(not sure why I needed that? Maybe because my truck is over 10 yrs) and because it is near AAA and I was in a rush! They were nice and use a new machine that took like 2 MINUTES!!!! Super fast and AWESOME! EXPENSIVE, EXPENSIVE. I know that this place has been around for awhile, But that does not excuse the fact that they will charge you the top cost for whatever repair that you may need. I get all my car repairs done here, as does my family. They do great work and are honest about things that need repair. For example, I brought my car in to get my front brake replaced. About three weeks later, I started hearing a grinding in my rear brakes so I took it in to get those replaced too. However, the mechanic told me that the brakes were fine and just needed to be cleaned. It cost about $20.00. Glad that they didn't replace the brakes since they were good, even though they would have made more money. read more

They've offered an alternative cheaper solution to some issues instead of letting me think I only have 1 option and also have allowed my husband and I to leave a vehicle there for 1 week or more when we drop it off for mechanical work before leaving town (more than once). Filled my car at Pump #1 and the force of the nozzle stopping made it fly out of my car's gas tank opening and land on the ground, while spaying my lower body and feet with gas. Tony, the owner, blamed me for not putting the nozzle in right. Well, if that was the case, why did the nozzle work enough to fill my tank with $30 of gas before mysteriously malfunctioning due to my error? His cashier told me that pump's nozzle is "a problem" and Tony himself said it had recently been replaced. I could have seriously been injured and someone in the future may be before this person takes responsibility for his equipment. Gas may be cheaper at this station, but watch out. Tony refuses to take responsibility for my ruined property. I've been coming to this station for 3 years. Never again. read more

Came here because their yelp deal said it would be $19.95 for a smog check. I was purchasing a used car and needed the smog for the transfer of title. The seller and I were together. Seller drove over an hour to finalized paperwork and the last thing holding us up was this smog. When we got there the guy first charged us $48, I showed him the yelp page and asked for that price. With an extreme attitude He asked "oh you want that price"? Um yah! So he hesitantly changed the price and plugged the car in. He called us back over to say that the cars computer wasn't communicating with his smog reader. It wasn't getting power. He even tried using an external battery to get power. Went on to say he's been doing smogs for 20+ years and has only seen this a few times. He suggested that it was a blown fuse or a miss connection with wiring. Said we would have to have a mechanic look at it and bring it back. Took the car to a mechanic the next day who thoroughly tested every connection and fuse in the vehicle and found no issue. The mechanic ran his own smog check successfully and told us that this guy was probably plugged into the wrong port. A $20 smog check turned into $70 and a day wasted. Completely inexperienced and unprofessional. I would never recommend. read more

Cornejo's Service Station (aka Sinclair) has saved my car and my car life twice. I failed my smog test two separate years due to 02 Sensor Not Ready. I have never researched anything more in my entire life the first time this happened. I have a 2008 Kia Spectra. I spoke to the Bureau of Automotive Repairs in Sacramento (several times), left the car with a Kia Dealership Service Department for two days, went to several smog test locations, called muffler shops, made many, many calls and spent hours online trying to figure out how to pass, so I could keep my car and drive legally in California with a current registration tag. I had no intentions of getting rid of my car, but was so beleaguered and distraught, I even took my car to CarMax to get an estimate on selling it to them. Absolutely none of my research, online, on the phone, in person helped me pass my smog test. Cut to Cornejo's. It is a family-run business of many years, and their team of trusted technicians knew what to do. I left the car overnight and the next morning, when the engine was cold, they did the (dreaded) drive cycle on their dynamometer (Dyno) and subsequently my car cleared the 02 sensor and passed. Shockingly, the next time my smog test was required (two years later), I did not pass once again due to the same reason: 02 Sensor Not Ready. Even though when I had needed a new battery months earlier, I requested and observed that the dead battery not be disconnected, as the information in the car's computer would be completely lost - which is what I believe caused my smog test to twice fail. If you cannot pass your smog test and have lost all hope, Cornejo's can be your savior. They are a Triple A affiliated garage, and in addition to saving my car (twice) for not a large expenditure, I received a Triple A Member discount! read more

I started taking my 2003 Mini Cooper S to Cornejo's at the beginning of this year. I had the rear brakes rebuilt, (Drums, Rotors, Pads and a Caliper) And recently had the AC Compressor replaced. The business is honest, Eddy called me throughout the service to inform me of what was going on. I live very close to the shop and love that they open at 7AM so I can take my car in early enough and be at work on time. They consistently beat the major gas station prices in the nearby area and they have earned 100 percent of my business. My Mini runs fantastic and I love supporting a family business. I've been buying gas at this station for almost 6 years now. The gas prices are usually almost always competitive. I never had any repairs done because my car had an extended warranty on it. Once my warranty ran out, I decided to have some work done at Cornejo's. The first time was for a smog inspection and the second time was for rear brakes and a left headlamp bulb. Both times I visited this shop the crew was very friendly. The owners are a father and son team and you can tell that they have been at this for a long time. Evryones uniforms were clean and so was the shop. What turned me on the most was that they are a AAA approved garage and when I checked with AAA, Cornejo's score was a 98% This is a small family owned business and you can tell that the owners take pride in it. Haven't had my car services by them do take this review as an example of the customer service instead and not the quality of their work. I went in to see about getting my AC recharged before a trip up north (where it'll be hot). I tried speaking with one of the mechanics about it and he spoke really low (and the other mechanic was working next to him so that made it harder to hear). When I asked him to repeat what he said he got really irritated with me, said; "Oh, I guess my English isn't that great so I'll have to repeat it." in a condescending manner and the from that point on was kind of a dick about it. He told me to come in the next morning but to be honest, I have no desire to bring my business to a shop with passive aggressive mechanics who treat prospective customers that way. If I did that in my business, I'd be fired (and with good reason). read more

I was going to him for last two years for both my cars. Though he is very EXPENSIVE, as he promises to give warranty, I continued to go to him. My car failed the SMOG and he charged me more than $600 for replacing the O2 Sensor and Catalytic converter. After running for 4000 miles the Smog failed for the same reason and he is not ready to diagnostics the test again for free. I paid $180 just for SMOG diagnostics before 4000 miles.
