I have been bringing mine and my wife's cars to Victory auto care for over 7 years now. Not once has Jack disappointed with his service and trustworthy work! It started when my Corvette was experiencing some transmission issues where it wouldn't properly go into gear. I took it to the local Chevy dealer and was quoted about $3,000 for parts/labor. This seemed like an absurd amount of money to charge, so I drove down the street to this local mechanic shop. Immediately Jack got into my car and diagnosed the problem in minutes. It turns out there was a faulty $40 piece that had broken!!! I ended up paying for this part and the labor and saved roughly 95% of what I would've paid at the dealer. I've been going to Jack & Andy for as long as I can remember and I would never trust my car with anyone else. I'm a chick, easily mistaken for a bimbo, and my car is a '96 Honda Civic. Ok granted, a Honda Civic is a great car but regular wear and tear and driving from the Valley to Whittier, on our lovely freeways, every weekend for umpteen years can take it's toll on the hoopdie. Not to mention sneeking out during the week to meet friends DTLA or hitting the beach on the weekend. Wear and tear, potholes galore, and ghetto fools that try to steal my hubcaps ... it's a dangerous world out there and if you are going to live and drive in LA you better have a good mechanic that you can trust. Let's face it, women are easy targets when it comes to car repairs. Jack & Andy have had a bazillion opportunities to rip me off ... but shockingly, never have. That is a shocking quality in a mechanic, in my opinion. Let me give you my favorite example: I drove to Whittier one weekend, car was fine, parked on street. Next day my car sounded like the wheels were going to fall off. (Blump, blump, blump, rumble, rumble, rumble) My boyfriend insisted I take it to a local mechanic who drove it a few blocks and asked "Are you trying to kill us? What the hell! The wheels are going to fall off of this thing!" He got out, looked at the front & back tires and drove back to his shop. He told me my struts and shocks where shot and blah, blah, blah needed to be replaced and it was normally $1,500 but he'd do it for $750. It all sounded believable but if that kind of work really needed to do done I'd rather Jack & Andy do it. So I put on my emergency lights and drove back to the Valley praying the entire way. Next day took it to Jack & Andy. I told Jack what was going on and how I'd cheated on them and took it to another mechanic but didn't have the work done. "Well, I'm happy to check your struts, but first, let's replace this missing lug-nut." Some mutant king of loser island had broke off a lug-nut trying to steal my hubcap! They checked to make sure everything else was fine, took it for a test-drive and that was it! My bill was under $30. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!! WHOOT!!! This is just ONE example of how they had an open opportunity to do unnecessary work and instead chose to do honest work. AMAZE-ZING! Obviously, I will NEVER bring my car to anyone else. If I ever see another mechanic even look at my car ... I will slap them! I could never express how grateful I am to have found these awesome guys. Absolutely, positively recommend. read more

I feel about mechanics like most people feel about used car salesmen. There's just something inside that tells me not to trust them. I did not get that feeling from the guys at this shop when I recently took my car in to get the check engine light shut off. They worked quickly and their price was fair. I was also impressed that they didn't even know what Yelp is but still had a great review. Went in to have my car battery replaced after having to jump start my car before work. Andy was super helpful and made sure to check it wasn't my alternator before I even had the chance to suggest it. He replaced the battery within the hour and, on top of that, only charged me for the battery and didn't charge anything for labor! Jack rang me up and made sure I was satisfied with everything before wishing me a great weekend. Very good place price was best in entire valley area, i called alot of placed to just to get a full synthetic oil change, and this place we great. The price was the lowest in the whole area. They did it pretty quick wait was not long at all. And nice friendly service on top of that. Its a basic service garage place, but price and service good and reasonable and they are honest about all needs, and if they see other problems they point them out also. read more

My car had been acting up for quite some time and started to shake once I hit about 55mph, with multiple back fires. I went to Victory Auto Care based off a reference from a co-worker and I could not be more pleased. Jack was very straight forward and explained the issues with my car and the work that needed to be done. When I came back to get my car, he showed me the parts that were replaced and explained why they were not working and how they were the cause of the issue. Jack also took my car for a test drive to ensure everything was back in working order. Jack and Andy are awesome! I initially found out about them after getting a flat rear-tire leaving work. Since I was not too far away, I called them and shared my concern. Although they were about to close, Jack offered to leave his shop open so we could repair my tire just before the weekend. They offered excellent customer service and workmanship. RUN AWAY unless you want to be OVERCHARGED. I was charged a diagnostic fee up front then was told by Jack the fee would be subtracted from my total repair bill at the end. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN!!! When I questioned the charge he tried to disguise it as another fee which is just plain WRONG!!! There isn't a lot you can do at that point especially when you need your car back. He also tried to sell me additional parts which were not needed and this was confirmed by another mechanic shortly thereafter. Sadly, I'm a return customer and this was an emergency situation which I feel Jack took complete advantage of. My advice, AVOID this place at all costs since Jack has now decided that "GREED IS GOOD." read more
