Truck threw belt and blew radiator leaving with new engine installed. He said the belt was good…read more 430 miles later broke down, coolant coming out exhaust. Easy to tell since the exhaust has been falling off poorly installed. Head gasket blew in the truck, or worst case is hydrolock, not turning over properly soemtimes. A couple hoses shot off. Had nothing but problems, never ran right. It would get stuck turning over sometimes. Idle was super high at first, I adjusted it down. It surged in first at low speed, high idle was to cover this up perhaps? Went to shop, he had me waiting around all day, never looked at it, mentioned charging me more. He alleged I had a bad MAF, which I left w/o inspection and replaced after seeing him hustle for new clients and leaving me hanging. Still didn't run right. Surged when I hit the brakes in neutral, some mind of vacuum leak. He blamed me when I confronted him. I travel a lot and had a second car so just drove that amidst my flights, sold that car though. Now I've got work out of state and no wheels. Blaming my camper shell is pathetic for a poor engine install. Never sent my engine core back. I thought it was, when I didn't get claim check I found out. He said no problem doing that now acts like he did me a favor after not doing it for months. Also charged $150 more than $1100 at first. When he said it was ready the skid plate wasn't on or the hitch, I was boxed in by another car, I waited a couple hours while he talked to new clients, offering to buy their cars so he can flip them. He cares about money, not quality work. I want a refund. This is unacceptable. My truck is useless. He won't be responsible, and blames the customer. I will sue and post reviews everywhere I can. I despise writing a poor review for a locally-owned business, but after months of being led-on and ignored, I am writing this in hopes of saving someone else's precious time. My husband was in a car wreck in October 2025. The person who rear-ended him has terrible insurance, so we decided to file a claim through our insurance, Allstate. Capital City Collision provided us a quote that our insurance did not agree with. An Allstate negotiator went back and forth with the shop. Part of the issue was my husband's truck had after-market parts that were damaged. Our Allstate negotiator, Elizabeth, called us to confirm that she was able to get funds approved by her manager and they reached an agreement on pricing with the shop. A check for $2,207.66 was sent to the shop to start ordering parts. According to Allstate, the shop cashed the check on January 20th. It is now March 19th and the shop still has yet to reach out. I have tried calling the shop multiple times in the last two months. Each time I call, they answer and hang-up immediately. I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe they are busy. I tried calling the shop today, and again, same situation: answer, then hang up. I thought to myself, "hmm... maybe they really are ignoring our calls?" So I waited 15 minutes and called back with a blocked number. What do you know... Catherine decided to pick up and answer this time! She kept me on hold for 9 minutes before taking me off hold and hanging up on me immediately. I called back, and a man answered. He transferred me up to Catherine, who kept me on hold for 4 minutes this time and hung up immediately. While I was on hold the second time, I received a text message saying they wouldn't do business with us. They ignored my text, asking when they planned on returning the check they cashed for $2,207.66. My husband and I have been trying to get his truck fixed since October 2025. It is now March 2026. I understand that our insurance was being difficult to work with... we were annoyed by Allstate, too! That being said, Capital City Collision could have rejected our business months ago, instead of stringing us along. After 45 minutes, I was provided with paperwork reflecting a long list of parts being passed as non-issues as well as a couple of quotes for other parts needing repairs. After receiving an offer, I asked them to investigate further on 1 of the issues, which they did. I was approached again with lots of quotes for things that need repairs... some of them conflicted with the paperwork they had already given me claiming that those were non-issues (WTF?!?). This shop gave me stupid high price quotes for work that even the dealership quoted me much lower for. I won't go to the dealership either, though since they also lie all of the time. My issue initially was my AC blowing hot. They said the culprit and main cause and a needed repair would be replacing my AC compressor. I agreed. Few days later, it was blowing hot air again. Brought it back and they did the same checks. Now they discovered a hose that needs replacing- which had no problems prior and how was this not caught after completing the AC compressor replacement. What do you know, few days later the AC is blowing hot again. I bring the car back in and they are saying I need an evaporator core and some other hosing which was upwards of $2500. They also mentioned my battery was dead because of them having it on constantly- which was a lie. The battery was in great condition, and even if the battery were to be low power or problematic, why wouldn't Sun Auto help out with recharging / remedying the issue in the first place after I just spent $3000+ for the AC Compressor. It's wild, even the AutoZone team member said the same thing. Anyways, I declined the work because at this point I didn't have the money nor did I have trust in their capabilities to actually fix it. They probably would have kept adding on more and more repairs. So here's the thing, I had my mechanic friend come take a look and a majority of the problems listed in diagnostics were incorrect and predatory. All he had to do was tighten some valves on the newly replaced hose which fixed the AC as well as assisted me in my alignment issue that I had brought my car in for before. (How do you have mechanics that can't even properly seal the valves on a hose?) Overall, this is a very unprofessional business that is predatory and will take advantage of you. (The teamwork / coordination is terrible, no one there knows what is going on with your vehicle and are uninformed about appointments and services which makes the customer feel neglected, especially after the fact of booking appointments prior, listing my issues and what has been worked on and they would never be able to locate and make use of previous diagnostics. TLDR: Sun Auto overcharges for repairs that don't actually fix the issue and also miss other issues in the process, or possibly create more issues for your vehicle during the repair process. Now, they seem far more interested in dealing with complicated repair issues than providing the basic oil change service they built their reputation on. Twice recently I showed up and was met with long, unexplained wait times. On my second visit, I was told it would be a 30‑minute wait. Forty minutes later, my vehicle hadn't even been touched -- and no one bothered to update me or acknowledge the delay. When I asked the attendant who originally quoted the wait time, he couldn't have cared less. No apology, no explanation, no urgency. Just a dismissive "have a good day" before walking off. That attitude told me everything I needed to know. This place has completely lost the professionalism and customer care that kept me coming back for years. If this is how they treat long‑time customers, I can only imagine how they treat first‑timers. They've changed, and not for the better. It was easy to make the appointment to have the Jeep towed in and they got back to me by the end of the day with the diagnostic. My brake line had blown out and they were going to replace it. The next day they called to tell me there were no brake lines available for my Jeep anywhere with MOPAR, or any other manufacturer. People in my situation are all waiting months for these things on back order. Most shops would have probably told me to come tow this Jeep out of their way until a brake line was available. Not Juke! They thought outside the box and let me know a hydraulic shop they work with could build the part for me, and it would only be $80 more! Perfect! Even though they had to run around town with these brake lines, and rely on another shop to hunt down parts and fabricate custom brake lines for me, they had my Jeep back to me after just 6 business days! The other great thing is Miguel kept me updated the whole time and I never had to worry about if my vehicle was being taken care of.
