There has been a HUGE change to the Corner Bakery experience-we have been coming here for over 10 years, primarily to Burbank. They have been sold to the company that owns Boston Markets. The decline in the quality of food that other reviews have noted. We have noticed a change in the overall vibe and a lack of customer service on the part of most employees. Our experience today we noticed the employees trying hard to not make eye contact, ignoring as we sat on the bench waiting for our order for 20 minutes, and just an overall bad attitude on the part of the mostly teenage male empoyees. The young man taking orders was a little bit better. Sadly this will be our last visit to CB as it is no longer what it was. read more

I had gotten a BLT from here before and thought it was pretty good so I ordered another as well as some chicken soup earlier this week. I have never had food poisoning this bad. This is my go-to place since high school! We used to come here at lunch and after school all the timeee. Must try: -Chicken Pesto Sandwich -Baked Potato Soup (only wed-fri) -Santa Fe Chicken Salad -Chicken Carbonara Pasta -Chicken Pomodori Sandwich They even have specials if you want to try any cafe sized salad with a soup! This is perfect to try both the Santa Fe Chicken Salad and the Loaded Baked Potato Soup. Another special is with a pasta and a side salad but I tend to stay away from this one because the salad is nothing special and I'd rather have more of this amazing pasta. Putting some tabasco in this pasta makes it so much better! and plus it comes with yummy garlic bread. The Chicken Pesto Sandwich is perfect if you want something a little lighter and fresh. The greens in this sandwich are great and the pesto mayo brings everything together. The ciabatta bread is also great and this sandwich is also very low calorie. It comes with chips but you can upgrade to a salad for a small price. The Baked Potato Soup is great. It is loaded with cheese and just potato-y goodness. One of the workers recommended it to me the first time I went and I have been getting it ever since. Tabasco is great with this as well. And it comes with a roll- great for dipping! The Santa Fe Chicken Salad is my go-to salad. just try it. Everyone loves the Chicken Pomodori Sandwich. I admit it is really good but I tend to not get it because of other things on the menu that are better in my opinion (mentioned above). I never miss a chance to eat breakfast here when I am in Los Angeles. The menu offers decent variety for a fair price, the service has always been good to me and the french toast, where do I begin about the french toast. WOW is the french toast amazing. I first discovered this cafe 5 years ago while in town with my sister and it has been on my TDL every year when I am back in LA. Even if I am on the other side of town for business or pleasure, I make the trip to the Corner Cafe for a French Toast Breakfast! Easily the best french toast I have ever had and to note - the rest of the menu is pretty good as well. if I am staying nearby - and regularly I will be just 10 blocks up the road - I will have several meals at the Corner Cafe during my stay in town other than breakfast. You can view the menu and catering menu online, so no need for me to break it down here. You can purchase bread and cookie bundles to go to take home for the kids - they are delicious as well. The quality seems to have dropped, it was pretty heavy and oily, the taste was ok.. Thats what the two stars are for. I also ordered a santa fe salad, which had FROZEN corn, wilted lettuce and bad tomatoes, this was terrible. I was extremely displeased with the maintenance around the restaurant, it was so filthy. The booths were torn, food all over the floors and the seats, the benches had grease all over the material. I was disgusted to sit in them and eat. My husband ordered a signature sandwich - the Smoked Turkey Cobb on Brioche Flatbread - Turkey breast, applewood smoked bacon, bleu cheese crumbles, hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, lettuce and avocado mayo. I did not like the flatbread at all - it was bland and had an odd dry-crumbly texture. The bacon was very good, and the hard boiled eggs were good. This Corner Bakery located in burbank has a few managers that just don't know how to run a business period. I was surprised that they would hire the same managers back that don't know how to do their jobs or how to run a business. When you're trying to order a meal and they have 4 different cashier locations but only ONE cashier at the register when a few people ahead of me, you would think that any manager would look and open up more registers instead you have to wait for a very long time before they go through each order and paying options which takes forever. I have had to complain so many times to these managers on this issues and they never have offered me a discount or anything for my time of waiting in line. If there is just one or a few people of ahead of you, make sure to clock it because it will take 20mins and longer. When you order the choose 2, the pasta dish will be a very small portion which is only a few bites before its done. When the manager is cooking the meals in the back he will make them extra small portions which I have complained to him so many times to stop doing that. Who wants to pay for a meal and only get a very small portion with only 2 or 3 bites of food? and he is employed and a manager The meal is suppose to come with some bread on the side for free which they always will forget so you have to remind them and will only give you one very small piece of bread, just one little slice of bread, are you that cheap? I love their food but their parking is kind of annoying so I don't come by often, and until last week I never considered just ordering delivery. I've been missing out. Honestly, im a pretty reasonable person who really doesn't take the extra time to write a review unless it's either really good or really bad. Unfortunately, corner bakery was severely lacking in taste, cleanliness and customer service. Upon ordering, we were given a coaster that vibrates once the order is ready, which was just placed on the counter near us with really no direction so unless you already know there was really no way of knowing the coaster was/is for you. Anyways, we get to our table (my mother, daughter and I) and the table was disgusting. My mom took a napkin, folded it and was able to scrape out gunk and dirt from the center of the table. As a note, if you're going to attach two tables to create one table, have the decency to clean the crease at the center of the table. GROSS! Our food was ready quickly however it was left out on the counter unsupervised where anyone could grab it. I went up, grabbed it and our coffees without any help or even hint as to which of the two was decaf since we'd ordered two different coffees. Long story short, my mother has high blood pressure and she cannot have regular coffee, but alas the employee at the counter had no clue which was which and refused to remake the beverages. To make matters worse, the chicken soup is definitely canned, the macaroni and cheese was tasteless and watery, and the service was atrocious. It's so bad that while eating, my brother called my mother and asked why we came to corner bakery when, in his words, it's disgusting. I mean honestly, is it really a thing to be a cute cafe with mediocre food and rude staff? I'm amazed that this place has customers because believe me I will not bf going back and I will be spreading the word to everyone I know, which as a realtor and notary is a lot of people.
