Extremely disappointed in what's become of corners bakery. Their Pesto cavatappi pasta is now served with shreds of chicken instead of pieces of chicken. I kinda let that slide for a while but today I got my pasta with almost no sauce. It was the most expensive plate of "boiled" pasta I've ever paid for. Their chicken pomodory sandwich came with the same shreds of chicken and not a decent serving of chicken worthy of the price paid for it. Okay, so if you've ever been to a Panera or WIldflower or Paradise Bakery then you've seen this style restaurant before. But these guy's have something those others don't have. Just like the others, the Sandwich menu is a little pricey. You will pay $8 to $9 for some of them. BUT they have a sub-menu on the sandwiches that's called the "Mom's" sandwiches. They are cheaper, smaller and simpler and are the kind of thing that you might have had in your lunchbox as a kid if you were lucky enough to have parents who did that sort of thing for you once upon a time. These are also about $5. They really brought me back to being six years old again and trading Daniel Flores my Lays potato chips for his Cheetos. ALSO, AND THIS IS THE MORE IMPORTANT BIT: they have an OUT OF THIS WORLD Lemon Bar. It's not too sweet, but not too lemony. It strikes the perfect balance between the two, and it's delicious. I probably have ordered everything on the menu that looks and sounds appetizing... here are some recommendations: The DC Chicken Salad: At first I thought this was going to taste bad, but actually this is one of my favorite things to order because it really doesn't have that intense mayo flavor i was dreading... good combination of chicken and other healthy stuff in this. The Chicken Pesto: This is my wife's favorite sandwich on the menu. She enjoys this because of the vinegar tasting chicken that blends well with the tomatoes and lettuce. The BBLT: New on the menu. If you like lots of crispy bacon and fresh lettuce and tomatoes... order this then. The Tomato Basil Soup: Always a refreshing nice meal to get your tummy nice and warm... don't forget the tabasco sauce if you're a fan of some mild heat. The Anaheim Scrambler: Good hearty meal for breakfast time. Everything taste fresh and made to order. Sure beats eating the crap at Denny's. The Half Moon Cheese Ravioli: This taste like it was handmade ravioli, but we all know chains like this have them frozen... nonetheless very tasty. Consistency is falling off. Not sure if management has changed, but service and quality has for sure. There is no desire to please customers. Again, they screwed up my order. My sandwich had 5 ingredients total. Asked for no tomato and no mayo. Sandwich was delivered with mayo and tomato residues. Why did I even waste my breath and money? Worse part I had to wait for my order and it was just sitting behind the counter. I went to the bathroom but they just let me sit there while my food sat there for 10 plus extra minutes. Luckily I got up and asked if its my order. I complain that it might be cold now and the manager touches the bottom of the plastic says it's fine and rudely hands it to me. This place has great food. For the most part... They will screw up orders every now and then and be completely unapologetic about it. For some reason, the people that work here are just not nice even though it appears that they work in a pretty easygoing atmosphere. Went for my grandmas birthday and I was very disappointed First at the register the guy didn't know about what ingredients were in any of the dishes. When we asked if something was good all he responded with was "idk. I would never eat it" When we finally ordered our food it took 30 min for them to bring it to us only after I went to the counter to check on what was up. Wife and I were in LA visiting relatives and we had an early flight that arrived in Burbank around 8AM. After getting the rental we decided to head out for a quick bite to eat and we ended up at Corner Bakery. Best way to describe Corner Bakery is that it's sort of like Panara Bread but with more focus on the menu items. The decor here is sort of an old fashioned sort of look. When we got here, it was already pretty busy. They have a decent menu with a focus on bistro and quick items. You're looking mostly at sandwiches, salads, and panini's. They do offer on their menu scrambled eggs for breakfast and pasta's for lunch and dinner. They also have fresh bagels and offer pastries. Prices here are a bit on the high side for my taste. You're pretty much looking at about $6 - $10 on most items. We looked over the menu and the wife just wanted a coffee and i got the Ham and Cheddar Panini with some fresh fruit. We got ours to go because the place was crowded and hard to find a spot. We were hoping to be in an out but ended up waiting for like 15 minutes. We made our way back to the car and opened up and looked inside. The panini was a decent size. The ham was like deli ham and the Cheddar ok. Overall, I guess I wasn't all that impressed. It was like something I could have done easily at home with two pieces of bread, 1 egg, with a slice of thin ham and cheese. The fruit was good though and tasted fresh. The wife said her coffee was decent. Another problem is that their parking really small. So the is a good chance you have park else where. So overall, i would say decent. But Corner Bakery really includes nothing but the freshest most flavorful ingredients in this heavenly sandwich. Decked out with perfectly marinated red bell peppers, avocado, white cheddar, jicama slaw, lettuce, and spicy chipotle lime mayo, you will fall in love at first bite. And for the meat eaters out here- you have the choice to add meat, even though it's soooo not necessary. And I hate to say this friends, but I dared to share sexytime stories on this friend date. It was no Lyric Diner (Nic B!) or New Ashiya (Kat H!) or the R Train late at night (Maiah and Kristin!), but lemme tell you- the Corner Bakery offers a cutesy cafe atmosphere for all your gossiping needs- even during the chaos and craziness of the 12:30 lunch rush. This was my first time trying Corner Bakery! It is very similar to Panera. For my first time, I ordered the Signature Pesto Sandwich, combo with the caesar salad. The sandwich was small, but delicious. I didn't care for the salad, there was too much dressing. I also order their frozen lemonade, it was delicious, but too sour. Overall, it was delicious. Me and my boyfriend visit this location at least once a week when were in the mood for a fresh & filling salad and a homemade slice of Pumpkin Pound Cake. I don't think I've ever ordered anything I didn't like from here. From Breakfast to dessert and everything in between, Corner Bakery has yet to let me down. The pasta dishes are amazing! If I ordered takeout and told my boyfriend it was from an Italian restaurant, he wouldn't even be able to tell the difference (And he's Italian!) The parking lot is HORRIBLE. Got tired of sitting in the traffic on I-5, so I exited and stopped in here for a bite to eat and let the traffic subside. The place is clean. We tried the chicken carbonara, baked french toast, and maple pecan bar. They were all okay. If we were to stop here again, I'd try something different. This place gets the job done but is not the most special meal in this part of town. They seem to be caught somewhere in fast food/chain restaurant quality limbo. I tried the Asian Pork Sandwich last time I was there, and although it tasted pretty good it was absolutely drenched in sauce. Cheese and broccoli soup was nearly room temperature. The menu is not huge but diverse - easy enough to find something appetizing. But, next time I'll stick with the salads which seem to be their forte. I haven't been to a Corner Bakery in a while. The last one that I went to regularly was when I used to work at a satellite cable provider in El Segundo. Now that I work at an Entertainment conglomerate in Burbank, we cater from this place often. The food quality doesn't waver too much. It's pretty good across the board. But, this review is based on a visit I made with some co-workers last Friday. WHAT I ORDERED: My office does catering from this place, so you really can't go wrong. The pretzel bread on one of the turkey sandwiches has a bit too much salt. So if you have high blood pressure, this sandwich isn't for you. The roast beef and green pepper sandwich isn't too bad. What I really like here is the Asian wonton salad! If you look at my other reviews, you will notice that my all time favorite salad is the Chinese Chicken Salad at any of the California Chicken Cafe throughout LA. The Asian wonton salad is a close 1A. Maybe it's because the salad pairs chicken and edamame and has a real tasty dressing. But if you get the full entree version, the portion is just right for a meal. If you don't have that big of an appetite, I would go for the 1/2 size. WAIT STAFF: Ok, this is where I unleash a can of typed whoop-arse on these folks. I guess the workers don't know how to follow directions all too well. My co-worker and I both asked for an extra piece of bread with our order. When the serving waiter brought out the food, there was a piece of bread missing. That was an honest mistake, but the gal who took our order repeated our order before we paid. And I distinctly remember her repeating our order and telling us that 2 pieces of extra bread were ordered. So the worker went back to get the extra piece of bread. 20 mins later and when we were almost done with the meal, he comes back with the piece of bread. I was thinking, "did the dude have to get the grain, knead the dough and wait for it to bake in the oven?!" Bread doesn't take that long to make. This ain't the Stone Age! Needless to say, my co-worker and I were not all too pleased. My rating of 3 stars for this place is solely due to the fact that the employees here are slow and can't listen to directions carefully. It's a shame, actually because I thought that listening is one of the key ingredients to good customer service! VERDICT: I would continue to go to Corner Bakeries, maybe not necessarily this one. My boyfriend has told me, regarding another restaurant that I love, that it's the atmosphere he pays for, not the food (which he finds only decent). This is the thought that kept crossing my mind as I sat among the very Californian crowd clattering and crowding the tiny Burbank hot spot. Some pluses: The line moves fast, the food is unique and the workers are friendly. What I didn't like was that when I see unique sandwiches for a higher price than, let's say, Subway, I expect to be blown away. Needless to say, I wasn't that impressed. I ordered the Chicken pamadore (sp) panini with a side of mixed greens and a lemonade, my sister a turkey club with three cheese mac and a caramel iced coffee. The portion was small and I ate it pretty fast. It's places like this that makes me feel like I should stick to the kitchen. Other than interesting concepts, this isn't something you can't make at home yourself better. The mac and cheese was Velveeta level good, which is to say not very. My sandwich was pretty good, overpriced and small. The bacon on my sisters was not good at all. And that's bacon! Come on people! Now, since this was a cute little bakery type establishment I was investing myself in the atmosphere for the sake of my previous comment. However, it was so distracting that I couldn't even hear anything my sister said, I was always looking around and had pretty bad anxiety. Maybe it would be better to go on an off peak hour. Yes, I know this place is a chain, but I think it has to be one of my favorite of the chain restaurants. What do I like best about it? I can get a half sandwich with a choice of soup or salad and some kettle chips at any time of the day, unlike most restaurants that only offer a special like that for lunch. When it comes to their sandwiches and their salads, they are actually very good too. They use good ingredients, and nothing is boring. Ok, I want to start this reviews saying that I really wanted to love the place. My husband likes it and he was excited to take me here and I wanted to share in his enthusiast. I'm giving an extra star for the service because the staff was really nice and attentive. Also, I should have looked at previous reviews before because it seems like all the low ratings are on the same thing I ordered, the Santa Fe Ranch Salad. Pros: Great staff, good atmosphere, convenient location Cons: EXPENSIVE (I just moved from NY and this is expensive by NYC standards), Santa Fe Ranch Salad was of low quality and tasted like a bad fast food salad (tiny amount of pressed flavorless chicken and lots of cilantro without warning), Monster Cookie (Super dry and not very good) We ordered a bottled water, 2 monster cookies, 1 soft drink, cafe (smaller sized) pasta and cafe (smaller sized), cafe (smalled sized) Santa Fe Ranch Salad and the total was $23 dollars which felt like a lot for what we got. read more

We ordered and tomato basil soup bread bowl, which tasted artificial, hardly any basil taste, if any; a caesar salad with chicken, which was only okay, but the chicken was super artificial-tasting; and a chicken pesto sandwich, which, again, the chicken tasted super artificial and there was hardly any pesto. I know you've been waiting for an egg salad sandwich review so here it is. The eggs did not have much taste in them and there is nothing I'd rather do than not order this again. I kind of want my sandwich to taste like a deviled egg but not as heavy. This didn't do it. Bread had dry ends. This made me not want to try another egg salad sandwich for a while. There is no wifi and there is only one outlet to use. Well, only one that I was able to notice. I really needed to charge my phone but not enough to say to the guy to change seats with me. That is too much of a Curb Your Enthusiasm moment for me to get in to. I just took off and tried charging in my truck but it doesn't charge as much as it maintains the same level of charge which sucks. Strangely, if I plug it on certain days it does charge it. Scumbag charger. I think when I get stricken with the flu or a mild cold I'll swing by for a soup someday. But I think I'll order the Tomato Mozzarella on Ciabatta Ficelle sandwich.
