Oooooh! I like this place. I know it is a chain, but this was my first time patronizing the franchise. I like the menu. A lot. There is this mix of super healthy to super unhealthy that is just so appealing. Like, here, have a salad for lunch... then follow that up with an enormous cookie! I had the thin breakfast Panini with avocado and spinach and although it was a bit messy, it was delicious. I would order it again, but frankly there are so many other things on the menu that I want to try that it will be awhile. I love having another healthy option around for lunch AND breakfast. We need more of these kinds of places (Panera, Corner Bakery and Zoes are all hits with me), but we need to have them with either drive up service or drive through service. I can barely get away for lunch sometimes, much less have time to stand in line and wait. This place DOES have call ahead service, though and it looks like that would make a big difference. read more

Let's just get this out of the way...I love breakfast. That being said, the pancakes here are among the best pancakes that I've ever had. I've been to some other Corner Bakeries in the area that state that they do not have the facilities to make pancakes...I no longer frequent those locations. They give you FOUR pancakes. And they're nice and fluffy. The eggs are great too. The bacon can be a tad too greasy for me, but I always blot my bacon with a napkin anyway. Just be sure if you're going on a weekend for breakfast, try to get there at least by 11:30A. They technically serve breakfast til noon, but if you're looking for a dish that serves potatoes like hash browns, they stop making those pretty early. read more

Came here for dinner so Corner Bakery Cafe was super empty. It has the vibe of a less-bougie, less-expensive Panera Bread. I'm completely on board with that. The service is good and the food was alright! I got the sweet berry salad (it had strawberries, grapes, spinach, goat cheese, almonds) and the zesty chicken tortilla soup, which came with a piece of bread. The berry salad was really good and I'd definitely get it again, although the strawberries and grapes did not seem very fresh. The chicken tortilla soup was nothing special, as the tortilla strips weren't crunchy and there wasn't a lot of chicken. It tasted like chili without the beans. In short, I'd come back here for a quick and cheap meal. The service is awesome and the food is great for what you're paying for, but it's nothing to write home about. read more

I used to love this place when they were in Fair Oaks Mall, it reminds me of working retail in the mall and not having a lot of healthy food options to choose from back in 2009, but Corner Bakery always came through. I was happy to find upon moving back to the area that they had just moved around the corner (hehe) and I could still come here on my lunch breaks. I stopped in with coupons as they are always pushing them like crazy, along with deals in their emails, and I was happy to find that not much had changed. They still offer great lunch deals, but the portions aren't that satisfying. Also, anytime I have come in here, the staff don't look too happy or welcoming, not sure what that's about but whatever. One of my favorite breakfast & lunch spots! I work close by so there's usually at least one person from my office eating here daily. Almost everything on the menu is yummy, especially love the salads and chilled Swiss oats with fruit. Their baked goods are always fresh and delicious. My favorites are the banana muffin, monster cookie or woopie pies. Yum :) I'm not a big meat eater so my go to's are the California Grill panini and tomato soup. I always love their seasonal dishes like the berry pecan salad. I usually make a call ahead pickup order. If you choose to dine in, the restaurant is nice & clean. After ordering at the counter, your food is delivered to your table and dishes are cleared by staff. read more

Just DONT. Our order just plain sucks. Wrong items, "ceaser salad" is literally iceberg from a bag with stale packaged croutons. The chicken pesto panini was actually a skimpy chicken sandwich with mayonnaise- no pesto at all. No panini . Couldn't be more disappointed. read more

I was looking forward to a quick stop for some lunch for my five kids. The order wasn't too large being able to fit in two bags. The staff member even tried to stuff it all in one bag, before I asked for the pastries to not be smashed. My son's turkey sandwich had stale bread and upon further inspection contained mold in all four pieces provided to him. Quite surprising considering the bread was from a "bakery." They did not give the following ordered items: -Fruit that came with the meal -Croissant I do not have time to return to the location to get my items corrected. This was supposed to be a quick stop, now my youngest will have to share someone else's meal.... and my second youngest won't touch anything now that we found mold....wish me luck. read more

I am very happy with the food I had delivered today from Corner Bakery in Fairfax. The menu is clearly designed with people's health in mind. I enjoyed the slightly spicy salsa that was served with my egg, avocado, and spinach wrap. I also loved the power grains and greens salad, which was very fortifying with nicely chopped hardboiled eggs on top. It even came with bread! I also enjoyed the albacore tuna salad sandwich served on very healthy multigrain bread. All of the food was carefully and generously prepared. I am sure I will enjoy the chips that I squirreled away as a snack for later. So I wanted to thank Corner Bakery for doing an outstanding job and to keep up the great work!!! read more

EXPENSIVE for MEH. We hadn't return to this place in over 10 years because it had been so mediocre, so we decided to give it another try and found nothing had improved. Even though I can walk to Panera Bread in Fairfax Townes Center, I gladly drive one mile to Corner Bakery in Pender Center near Harris Teeter. As you enter, it is easy to figure out where a line for the cashiers is. At Panera, it has not been clear in the recent past plus that dumb table with pastries - they can't figure out where to place it. CB has many outlets for your electronic devices. At Panera Ffx Towne Center you may have to get on your knees to find one. The food is very good at CB, especially the breakfast entrees, soups & chili, the panini, and the baked goods. If you are looking for bagels, the variety is not much but the bagels for me are better than the light airy Panera ones. In addition, the CB team is efficient and pleasant. We stopped by here after church on Sunday looking for a place to get lunch and get some work done. We had a scrumptious lunch and a pleasant time. Not too much to say; our food came out quickly, the price was reasonable, and the facilities were spick and span. Good amount of parking, nice variety of choices. I will say the paninis - which are very high in-calorie and that's made salient on the menu board (I appreciate the transparency and honesty) - are delicious and worth it. Got catering from Corner Bakery for breakfast and I have to say a fan of their catering breakfast. They had a wide selection of pastries, eggs with cheese, bacon, sausage, and croissants. I am already a huge fan of breakfast and there aren't many ways you can go wrong with breakfast usually in the restaurant but with catering you can mess up a lot. The reason I am 4 staring is because catering is usually not that good with any place you get and the food was actually hot and quite delicious. The bacon was crisp and went fast with our group, the scrabbled eggs and cheese were good too. I can't get enough of Corner Bakery's chicken panini! What do they do that makes it so special that I can't recreate it at home? I like the healthier options you can choose from, like you can get carrots or an apple instead of chips. Their chicken tortilla soup has been my favorite for years! I can't believe I haven't reviewed them before. I also like to get their chili in a bread bowl during the cooler months. I'm picky about the cleanliness of restaurants. Actual cleanliness - not talking about tables needing to be bussed. This location is consistently clean. No gross build up on fixtures, etc. What I also like about this location is that I always see a manager either checking on guests or working to get the food out faster to people. I'm impressed. Nice little cafe with good deli choices like sandwiches and salads. Similar setting and menu choices as Panera Bread, although this Corner Bakery has smaller selection of baked goods and pastries. I tried the trio combo where you can choose three sides from the trio options. Nothing too special, yet it didn't lack anything. All the workers were friendly and prompt which made the experience even more enjoyable. I'll probably come by again for a quick brunch on a sunny weekend as they offer outdoor seating as well. read more

I ordered the BBLT sandwich via Doordash on 2/28/21 and it was awful! This is my favorite sandwich here but I didn't recognize what was delivered to me. It was cold as if it was taken out of the fridge. The bread was slightly toasted and cold. The bacon was limp, there was not a whole slice of tomato on the entire sandwich there scraps of tomato. The lettuce was almost non existent there was one piece the size of a quarter and old. The fees associated with Doordash it gets expensive to order but I want to support our local restaurants, however, I will not order from here again. Food is pretty good overall, although they have many old menus left offering food that they don't make anymore; can't believe they don't do their amazing French toast anymore! Throw out your old menus! Also, between two different types of coffee, I had a mouth full of coffee grinds.... Not cool. Normally this place would have been a 4/5 star place for what it's worth, but we haven't had the best experiences since they moved from the mall. Food is good. Its a lot like Panera in many ways but I prefer it to Panera. They have fantastic coupons that make it an excellent value if you have kids or a larger family etc... The lemonade is great & just an awesome alternative to the soda for kids. Ambience is OK. It could be awesome cause they have comfy booths but the staff take a bit of time to clear the tables. Parking lot is great with lots of parking options & a convenient Harris Teeter right there if u need to shop. We'd come here a lot more but this place has a major downfall. Service is just not good. The manager is really abrupt & unpleasant to deal with. On one occasion he berated a family in front of us so much they kept apologizing "sorry sorry we didn't know. we've never been here before." You'd think he'd get it & back off but homeboy didn't get & didn't even attempt to make them feel any better. His terrible attitude is totally evident in his staff. All curt & unfriendly. It's just a tense environment for no clear reason. I'm gonna try to find another corner bakery nearby & hope someone in corporate will put this dude out of his misery & give him another job where he doesn't have to interact with humans. read more
