I visited recently for a business lunch with one of our vendors to talk about an upcoming event we're collaborating on. I went with a Chicken Pesto sandwich with chips and a vanilla sweet cream cold brew. It was a normal busy, but not too packed when we arrived. The place was cozy and clean. I stopped by my wife's office today and took her to lunch. We went to the Red Butte Corner Bakery Café. The interior is furnished in dark woods. The restaurant is well lit and reasonably clean. Our order was promptly taken and delivered to our table in just minutes. Both salads were very fresh and appear exactly as they do in the menu photographs. I like this, because they deliver precisely what they advertise. Portions were large enough that my wife and I both took home enough to serve as a dinner side. The prices are fair and we both enjoyed our lunch. I would definitely recommend this place for its salads and baked goods, which are delicious. The food was delicious. I ordered the Chicken Pomodori Panini with a side of loaded baked potato soup. The sandwich was super yummy and was actually one of the best sandwiches I've ever tasted, but I wasn't crazy about the loaded baked potato soup and regretted not getting the broccoli & cheese option instead. My hubby ordered the Meatball Fettuccine, which he enjoyed a lot. However, he did say that he wished it had more meatballs. Overall, we really liked it here and will definitely be back. We were staying at the local Marriott and decided to walk here as we wanted a short walk and some food. The first time for lunch, then breakfast the next day. Most of the crowd at the restaurant were college kids as the school is very, very close, and it was good to see them all there. Overall the food was just okay and the service was good. My wife ordered an avocado roll and when she opened it up there was no avocado in it, just other green veggies. She then went to a manager and shared the problem, and the manager acknowledged the problem and had the cook make the appropriate roll with what appeared may have been extra avocado. You can normally rely on Corner Bakeries, nationwide and they were the perfect lunch spots, in Kansas, but this one......not so much! The people at the register were really nice and tried to help me with suggestions, but it doesn't seem like they've tried much of the food, from this eatery they're working at. It's probably good because the salad, asparagus pasta primavera and cheesecake were all super gross!!! Some of the most simple of items must've not been stored well, or something. The pasta was warmed up, but I think it would've been better served cold, because the flavor combo was really off pudding and didn't blend well. The regular side salad didn't taste fresh either. The cheesecake should've been the really simple and easy item, for the pallet, but it tasted like gas - like something from chemistry class. This is why I think it had to do with how they stored the items. Their manager, who was tidying up the condiment area was also super unpleasant, maybe I just caught everyone on a bad day. Idk. One of my favorite cafes! The food is always fresh and they offer a lot of variety. They mainly offer soups, salads, sandwiches, and baked goods. My favorite dish is the pesto cavatappi. The pesto sauce is so creamy and cheesy! I like to sop up the side of garlic bread with the pesto sauce. The dish does come with chicken mixed in. The portion is large and I can't ever finish it in one sitting, so it's nice to have a bit to take home and have as a snack/meal later on. Certainly one of their good comfort food items. They offer a pick two special, so oftentimes I like to get the pasta and a soup. A really tasty soup is the cheddar broccoli. It's not as cheesy as I'd like, but it's still a good soup. They add a lot of chicken broth in it. Another indulgent comfort food option. As for sandwiches, I'm a big fan of the tomato mozzarella sandwich (caprese). Wow! That mozzarella is FRESH! The sandwich is even better if you take it home and put it in the oven for a few minutes to get the cheese extra ooey gooey. Such a lovely texture! And of course, how could I forget the desserts and baked goods? They're all really sinful foods - you're not going to find a healthy option here. The cost was a little over 9 bucks including tax so not horrible pricing although it would br nice to have at least a small drink included with the price.
