Their hot coffee is so good!! It's drip coffee and serve yourself so you can choose from their Mexican/Colombian blend or hazelnut and both are great. Their menu has a nice variety of sandwiches and breakfast/lunch plates as well as a number of bakery items depending on the day. I notice the earlier you go, and during the week, the better odds of having more variety. They have a huge patio and the staff will still come outside to check on you and clean tables.

Pancakes- I really love their pancakes. The texture, the chew- just delicious! Everything has shrunk in size; you still get 4, but I remember them being more plate sized. Good part I guess is that I was able to finish them with the bacon. My husband got the Anaheim scrambler and his portion was small as well. Good but small. I guess we all need to eat a little less! My only complaint about Corner Bakeries is that their self serve coffee is always either out or just lukewarm. Order at the counter and they will deliver to your table so it's quick and easy. Pro tip- it's always freezing in there so bring a sweater. Outdoor seating is also available if you have Fido with you.

One day, I ate a late breakfast from Corner Bakery Cafe in San Antonio, TX. That same evening, I ate a late dinner from Corner Bakery Cafe in San Antonio, TX. I had breakfast and dinner from the same Corner Bakery Cafe in San Antonio, TX on the same day. True or false? So just from the problem statement, you can't really tell for sure because there are actually two Corner Bakery Cafes in the Alamo City: One off the 1604 loop just west of the 281, and this one at Alamo Quarry Market just east of the 281. I was planning a short little getaway just outside San Antonio, and I decided to eat breakfast at the Stone Oak Corner Bakery Cafe. Fast forward to ~7 PM, and I decided to eat dinner, but at the Alamo Quarry Market location instead. So in case you haven't noticed, the answer to the T/F question above is FALSE. I had lost track of time, and by the time I realized it was 7 PM, I realized that Corner Bakery Cafe was going to close soon! But what time does it close? 7:30 PM? 8 PM? I saw 7:30 PM somewhere, but somewhere else, I saw 8 PM. In situations like this, I have to assume the earlier time, so I acted as if the cafe would close at 7:30 PM. I frantically had to get ready to head over to Alamo Quarry Market, and as luck would have it, I arrived at the front door at 7:29 PM. Luckily, the front door was unlocked, but I was legitimately expecting an employee to say, "Sorry, we just closed!" However, the first employee I saw greeted me while cleaning the floors. I was still trying to decipher if I was late or not, and then hesitated while trying to discern the interior layout of the cafe. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by a wall, and you have to turn left towards the order counter. I had a 99 cent beverage reward on my account, and I wanted to redeem it, but also get a Choose Two, where you can get smaller-sized entrees for the price of one. At my local cafe in California, the price of a Choose Two is $11.99, but here in San Antonio, it's only $10.99. On top of the two from the Choose Two, you also get to pick a side. When you order two pasta dishes, you get the most bang for your buck that way because one smaller-sized pasta would be almost $10, so if you order your entire Choose Two a la carte, you would probably be looking at ~$25. Thanks to the Choose Two, and lower taxes in the state that is spelled the same way, but with the vowels switched, you would only spend about half that. For the 99 cent beverage, I chose the Large Cranberry Spice Arnold Palmer. For the Choose Two, I went with the Chicken Rosa Pasta, Shrimp Scampi Linguine, and the Mixed Greens Salad. However, the cashier had some issues trying to ring up my order that she had to call a couple of co-workers to figure out what needed to be done. It took a while, but she was able to make it work for me. During that ordeal, she asked if I wanted for here or to go. I was initially planning on ordering to go because I thought the cafe was going to close real soon. However, when she confirmed to me that the cafe would close at 8 PM, I decided to dine in as long as it wouldn't take 20 minutes to prepare my order, and I wouldn't be kicked out right at 8 PM sharp. The cashier handed me a numbered flag, which I then took to a booth seat on the opposite side of the cafe. It took just over 5 minutes before the cashier handed me my order. Could have been closer to 5, but I noticed her conversing with a co-worker with my order in her hands. Why not just drop off my order first before chit-chatting with the others? Anyways, that was really the only blemish I witnessed out of her service that evening. The Mixed Greens Salad tasted pretty much the same as at my usual location in SoCal, but I did notice the dressing cup was angled askew, almost as if it was starting to spill out. Presentation could have been better there. However, the pastas were pretty good! Chicken Rosa Pasta is my favorite pasta at Corner Bakery because of how bold the taste is, and this was no exception here in the Alamo City. Not only that, but the Shrimp Scampi Linguine, a luckluster pasta back home in SoCal, was certainly not as lackluster at this location! While the pasta was a little clumpy, they did add a lemon wedge for me to add additional flavor to the pasta dish. I also enhanced the taste profile with a little salt & pepper. Both of the pastas were served in bowls while the salad was on a rectangular plate. One of the bowls was served on the plate next to the salad. Overall, it was a good solid dinner, and I'm glad I got to spend it here. Though I also gave 4 stars to the Stone Oak Corner Bakery, I enjoyed my experience at this location more, but not that much more to earn the fifth star.

Love eating breakfast here! They have a lot of options and a bunch on yummy pastries to choose from. Coffee is great as well. It's always really clean every time we visit. The staff is helpful when it comes to answering questions about the menu.

    Mac N Cheese
    Aida P.

The name and location was enough to spark my curiosity. The Corner Bakery Café is literally at the corner. We are still new to the area and still on the hunt for the perfect mac n cheese for my girls. One of the challenging parts is asking what it is in the mac n cheese. My girls have Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and let's just say they need lots of information. At home the cook mac n cheese from scratch; yes they even make their own roux. The employees were so nice and understanding about the questions and even brought out the ingredients book for one of them to read. The customer service and understanding was a gem! Now, back to the Mac N Cheese, they said it was better than the other place, which is a win in my book! This is definitely a place we will come back to in the near future. To the staff from the cashier, to the supervisor, to the waitresses; thank you for your patience and understanding.

    Orange Cranberry muffin & coffee

The service was friendly and efficient at the point of sale. Perhaps at the moment they are understaffed because they were tons of empty tables to choose from yet it was hard to find a clean on. Flavor wise, my orange cranberry muffin was great, bit small for the price in my opinion.

A BBLT that it seems they barely got a whole piece of B and forgot the other B. $11-12 dollars for a tomato, bread and bacon crumbs is unacceptable. This place is usually a favorite off and on so it has to be the personnel, training. Don't hate on the food, if you have an issue work it out and take pride in the things you do. WoW so sad....

It's the kind of place folks drift into and, before long, start calling their own. The people there carry themselves with quiet pride--no fuss, no show--just a steady hand at their work and a genuine welcome for whoever steps through the door. The menu ain't thrown together. It's been shaped with care, like a well-tuned string on a guitarra, each choice meant to stand on its own but better still when taken together. The flavors come through bold and honest, with a little flourish here and there--nothing overdone, just enough to remind you somebody back there knows what they're about. It's a small spot, sure, but that only draws folks closer. Feels a bit like gathering under a shaded porch after a long day--easy talk, shared laughter, and the sense you're among friends, whether you've known 'em years or just met 'em. Every greeting carries the warmth of old ties, like you've been welcomed back rather than simply let in. And the food--well, it doesn't hold back. Each bite's got a richness that settles in and makes you slow down, take notice, and then go back for more. It's the kind of meal that stays with you, the way a good story does. Spend a little time there with friends, and you'll come away knowing you've found something true--a place where the spirit of San Antonio, with its charro heart and neighborly ways, lives on in every plate set down and every hand extended in welcome.

So, when co-workers wanted to go yesterday, I jumped on it. Don't get me wrong. I love the vibe of this place. I LOVE their story. It's very NY/Northeastern deli feel (they're from Pittsburgh, but you get my drift, right!?). No nonsense. Small inside area. No tables inside. Just enough room to look at the menu, order, and go wait outside. I opted for the chicken bacon ranch on hoagie. What came out was a decent size sandwich, but incredibly messy and soggy. There was so much juice/ liquid the sandwich quickly became unmanageable and just disintegrated. Look, if you're going to serve a sandwich that messy, please upgrade your napkins. It was a one bite - two napkin ratio. The sandwich was good, but the mess and difficulty eating it just took away any enjoyment. Additionally, the flies outside rivaled the worst I've experienced. Do you remember the scene in the Lost World, Jurassic Park movie when the hunters found the Rex nest!? Okay, okay, maybe not that bad, but it was a lot. Hang some fly bags or strips or somethin'. Found price to be a little high. By the time I bought chips and a drink, plus tip: $22. Just FYI: my co-worker disagrees. He thought it was the BEST SANDWICH HE'D EVER HAD. So, yes, go give them a try, but bring a beach towel for clean up.

Service was prompt, and the ambiance is a funky cross between a bakery and a diner. Parking is easy in their private lot. I first tried their 'Texas Style' pastrami Reuben sandwich. The aioli instead of dressing, thicker slices, etc etc. But wow, did it taste good. It's as if a pastrami Reuben and a sliced smoked brisket sandwich had a love child who inherited the best from each parent. I also tried their salmon gravlax on an 'everything' bagel. This bagel was baked in-house, topped with the cured salmon, cream cheese, tomato, red onion, capers, and a sprig of dill. Rustic, beautiful, and delicious. Definite recommend! I was able to make my way here on my last day in San Antonio in late March thanks to my flight being delayed and my oh my, I am quite impressed! The older gentleman taking my order at the counter gave me a big smile when I mentioned I heard you have this thing called the serious sandwich here. He told me that they do and then stated "You won't regret ordering it, seriously." Chuckling, I decided on a half order of that along with a side of potato salad and their side of beans. After taking my first bite, I realized the gentleman was right. This is a dope sandwich! Excellent cured meats in the salamar and pair of hams along with the provolone and melted cheddar with the veggies, spices, italian dressing, and mustard. The bread they use holds up well and has a slight crunch to it. If you prefer your bread to have softness to it, you may have to ask if they can substitute a different bread instead of the italian flat bread they use. But I absolutely love this sandwich the way it is! As for the sides, the potato salad has a slight mustard taste and right consistency with a dash of paprika on top; just the way I like it. The beans are charro beans (I think) that are served steaming hot with some pork trimmings mixed in; I may have dipped my sandwich in it a couple times for flavor explosion. What can I say, I'm adventurous! There's some ferrari memorabilia and posters on the right side where some of the high top seating is. As a Ferrari F1 fan, I appreciate them displaying this here along with the track map of the COTA circuit in Austin. The seating area is spread out nicely with plenty of seats/tables and a drink station with some random signs up. All of interest to consumers like us. Definitely recommend coming here for either the serious sandwich or other delicious ones like their meatball sandwich or manhattan.
