I keep giving this place chances and I keep getting reminded why I don't go here for lunch anymore. I'm a stickler for attention to detail; if a sandwich comes STANDARD with bacon how do you forget to put it on? The food was for takeout so unfortunately I didn't find out until later in the day. After reading all of the wonderful Corner Cafe & Grill reviews, I realized I didn't see one for catering. Bob and his staff have catered just about every party, and family gathering Ive hosted. The food is out of this world and the presentation simply beautiful. No matter what I have asked for, Bob and his wonderful staff delivers. I always receive so many compliments over the food served, and how beautifully its garnished! I have only had breakfast here, but it always has been good. My favorite is the breakfast burrito. I usually get take-out. The guy behind the counter that takes my order is always pleasant and the food comes up quickly. I know this business is active in the community and is a favorite eatery of the local police department, so two thumbs up for that. My only minor gripe is that I wish they were open a little later so that I could stop by after work during the week to try some non-breakfast items. Not sure why all the 4-5 star ratings unless it is for the copious list of sandwiches on the chalk board up front. While the list of sandwiches, paninis, wraps and salads is long, the quality falls short. I have been there a few times and I found the sandwiches to be skimpy and lacking flavor. If I pay close to $10 for a sandwich I expect quality and something closer to overstuffed. Try shortening your list and increasing the content of your sandwiches. read more

This may be my first yelp review ever... But that's because I just had the best breakfast sandwich of my life. Grease Trap (bacon, porkroll, sausage, hashbrown) but add egg and pepperjack cheese with cajun hot sauce on a bagel. Holy delish. Seriously go get one! Place is a cute little deli with a big menu of full of lots of fun sandwich combos. Has that homey small town feel where regulars come. Sitting here right now as I polished off my Meltdown (chix salad on a croissant w all the sammie fixins). I have no idea why I haven't come here sooner. I've lived right in town for over a year! Stopped by after a quick library visit across the street and SO glad I finally did. I wasn't expecting much from the croissant but it was fresh and flaky and delicious. The chicken salad was perfection! And I'm reading their breakfast sammies are the real deal .. so I'll definitely be taking my husband here on the weekend. Does it get crowded for seating, though? Stopped in at Corner Cafe & Grill to catch up with a buddy for lunch. I'm in Piscataway and my friend's in Somerset so it was situated ideally somewhere in the middle. The dining area is quaint but had enough room to where you weren't sitting on top of each other. I got the Cardiac Arrest (1/2lb burger, egg over easy, bacon, cheese, kaiser roll). I survived the cardiac arrest but ended with up a case of food coma. The burger really hit the spot! Too bad I had to go back to work instead of lounging around to enjoy the rest of the day. My grandson introduce me to this place a couple of months ago with a sandwich called the sleeper. Now I have leaved in this area all of my life always said I wanted something to eat from there never did. My cousin said, the bugers were really good and indeed they are. If you want something tastee go there and get something to eat, the list is long, but try the sleeper or the hamburgers you will enjoy. My boyfriend and I have gone here at least six times because it's convenient location wise, but each time we are disappointed with the bread to meet and cheese ratio, definitely not up to good sandwich standards. Each time we are disappointed but it's fast enough and like I said close to work. Today however we waited an additional 30 minutes more than usual because they forgot about our 6 inch sub and underwhelming grilled cheese. By the time they remembered our order the grilled cheese was cold and they didn't even acknowledge the fact we'd waited so long.... needless to say going forward we will be packing lunch. read more
