Stumbled upon Corner Kitchen while in Asheville for one night while stopping on our way to Nashville. What a delightful dining experience we had! Arrived for our reservation a little early, and we waited on the covered porch while enjoying some drinks. Once seated & after ordering, we were provided with a complimentary amuse bouche (one bite starter), which was a potato chip with chipotle sauce, pico de gallo & queso fresco. A delicious one bite which prepped us for our meal. We ordered the Cacio e Pepe & fried green tomatoes for apps, both were OUTSTANDING! Our entrees were the trout & chicken, again, just absolutely delicious bites. Probably one of the best meals I've enjoyed in my life. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Asheville to eat here. The staff was warm, friendly & courteous! Only one small complaint, the food came out slow, which the staff did regularly communicate about and apologize for. I've seen Corner Kitchen in Biltmore Village for years when I've visited. This trip I stayed in the village so was walking distance from the restaurant so finally went for dinner. I'm so glad I did. I started my meal with the Watermelon Gazpacho. I don't ever order gazpacho but maybe the watermelon caught my eye. Omg it was so good. Light and refreshing, yet savory. On a hot summer day it's a perfect starter. The amuse bouche was a cornbread with banana and almond butter. Sweet but it worked. My entree was Shrimp & grits. The shrimp in the stewed broth was very tasty. Grits can be hit or miss and these were a hit. Very creamy and a perfect compliment. If I had any complainers it was the Vanderbilt martini was sweeter than I wanted. Had a lot of pineapple juice and I was expecting more of a splash. It was also very warm upstairs but I didn't let either of these deter from the excellent meal. I would definitely go back and also want to try breakfast. read more

What an amazing experience at Corner Kitchen! We walked in without reservations and asked for a table for two and were promptly seated in the Chef's Corner, which I might argue is the best place to sit! Our server Alex was phenomenal, making great recommendations, answering our questions thoughtfully and honestly and taking excellent care of us from start to finish. We devoured the crab cake appetiser, a half portion of scallops over risotto and shrimp and grits. We took his suggestion and had bread pudding (so moist and delicious) and he made us two night watch after dinner drinks (do not miss this special drink). I LOVED the teamwork in the restaurants. Titles did not matter. The chef, Megan, was personable, taking plates to tables herself while overseeing the very capable kitchen. The hostess came by to refill glasses, check in, and ensure we were happy. Everyone was all smiles, seemed to love their work and it was a well-oiled machine. My friend and I had an absolutely wonderful lunch here. I can't say enough good things about our experience. I would give it 10 stars if it was possible. Josh was our waiter and he is by far the best waiter I've ever had in any restaurant anywhere. He was funny, attentive and made great recommendations . Great spot near Biltmore. Cozy bar area and nice open and light dining room. Not what I would call a romantic setting, but a great place to meet with family and friends or casual date. An Unforgettable New Year's Eve at Corner Kitchen We celebrated New Year's Eve with a party of 7 at Corner Kitchen and it was a truly exceptional experience from start to finish. Our server John deserves special recognition - he was an absolute sweetheart and incredibly attentive throughout the entire evening. His warm and professional service made our special night even more memorable. We were fortunate to be seated at a long table right in front of the open kitchen, which turned out to be one of the best seats in the house. Watching the 2 chefs and their assistant work in perfect harmony was quite a show - you could tell they genuinely love what they do, drama-free, just pure culinary passion. It was inspiring to see them create with such dedication on such an important night. The food lived up to everything else: the trout was perfectly prepared, the chicken was delicious, and the lemon crème brûlée was the perfect ending to an extraordinary dinner. I don't understand how at least three people have reviewed the Corner Kitchen in the last few months. Are they confusing this restaurant with another place? It is still closed from damage from Helene. It was expected to reopen in May 2025, but it is now expected to finish rebuilding, including a new roof, in July 2025. read more

When pre-planning our trip we had narrowed down a few restaurants that were near the Biltmore estate that we wanted to try. Corner kitchen came highly recommended through Yelp, and after reading several other reviews, as well as looking at their website, we decided they would be our dinner option for after our day on the estate grounds. This location is located in the quaint Biltmore village, which is right outside of the Biltmore estates. Parking can be tight, but there is free parking typically after 6 PM and on the weekends. We made the reservation for 8 PM, but arrived a little bit early and were able to be seated right away. The corner kitchen is a quaint restaurant that utilizes the entirety of the house that the chief engineer for the Biltmore estates parents used to live in. The history is intriguing and you can see it throughout the location. Their menu changes, seasonally, and even seasonally, there are some things that may run out or change. My husband got the steak culotte, medium. The steak was cooked perfectly and while there was not a lot of seasoning, the meat was able to speak for itself in flavor. Beautifully, tender and delicious cut of steak. The lemon potatoes were also very great and did not have that over lemony flavor to it. I opted for the spring salad With chicken added. There is an up charge to add the chicken, but I wanted something light after being out in the heat all day long. It was delicious and the chicken is by far some of the best season chicken I have ever had in a meal. I also opted for the Vanderbilt martini, which is a beautiful mix of cucumber vodka, and elderflower. It has this beautiful, subtle sweetness And the coolness of a cucumber truly take you back to the early 1900s. read more

Had the appetizer for the table of Chengzi Oysters on a seaweed salad base with fresh mandarins orange segments. Beautifully balanced! I don't give 5 stars out easily so trust me when I say this spot deserves all 5 stars for food, service and ambiance! I love that they have a seasonal menu that is created with their farm to table motto. From the Spring 2023 menu I got the half roasted springer mountain chicken with goat cheese polenta. Priced at $34 this is definitely a higher end establishment but you get a large portion for the price! The chicken was cooked to perfection but really what makes the dish is the goat cheese polenta. It's sooo creamy and I'm a sucker for anything with goat cheese! We had great service with our party of 7! We made reservations and didn't have to wait at all, which is amazing on a Saturday night! I would also like to mention the restaurant is situated in an old home and is so beautiful. I'll sum it up as: 5 star service 5 star drinks 5 star appetizers 5 star soup 5 star pasta 1 star fish entree It actually ruined my whole night when my fish came out. Everything until that point had been so enjoyable and fresh! It was astonishing because everything but my fish had an intense attention to detail. The fish was dry and the rice was drier. There was a pineapple salsa on top but it wasn't enough to save it. The last thing was the snap peas had not been strung. I'm not sure if thats customary here, but after they were cooked it made them very hard and inedible. It started out sort of bland but the flavors were satisfying by the time I finished the bowl. My partner loved his Cider Brined Pork Chop with braised collard greens. I chose the fresh pasta special - ramp fettuccini with a ramp sauce. The pasta and vegetables were fresh but they, nor the breaded chicken cutlets had much flavor. The Corner Kitchen was a 10/10. We had brunch for our anniversary and it did not disappoint. We were immediately seated and greeted by our server. Initially, I was looking for an omelette, and was surprised when I did not see one on the menu. But, I trusted the process and was pleasantly surprised. I was steered to the chicken. I wish I had been told that it was a pretty large order. It was far too much for and it didn't really have flavor. My boyfriend's trout was rather bland as well. We received our bill and it said one price but when we received the check after payment the bill was even higher. This was not my favorite visit . I still like the place though. Thanks to a large table cancellation we were able to get dinner here. A place is cute with nice music and services exceptional. My husband did order his meal with low salt and unfortunately, after an hour of waiting for his meal, he was told accidentally salted his trout so we waited about an hour and 15 minutes. It's been years since I visited the Corner Kitchen. So many people love it I thought I'd give it another go. I love the ambience of the place. Service was also top notch. But all of that doesn't mean much if the food isn't also great. Maybe if I was t a vegetarian, I'd like it more. There are plenty of options for carnivores, after all, but slim pickings for plant eaters I was there for lunch (or brunch, as they called it, even though it was after 1 pm) and the only sandwich that was Vegetarian was the portobello. The waiter told us about the dishes of the day, one if which was a eggs Benedict with salmon. I will eat salmon so I ordered that. The dish was acceptable. The potatoes on the side were good, the hollandaise sauce was good, but the salmon, which should have been the star of the show, was dry and without flavor. One more bright note was the white sangria. It was delicious. Overall, this visit reminded me why I don't visit them more often. read more
