Found a place on the Too Good to Go app called The Cornerstone Bistro by Monika's, decided to check it out and it brought me here. I was intrigued by the location even before I came here in person as I could see on the map that it was in a residential area, away from main streets and other commercial businesses. There was only one lady working here (Monika). I came here with my mom. She ordered a Chai Latte and I ordered a Matcha Latte. Our drinks came out fairly quickly but we had to wait quite awhile for our food. We had each ordered a slice of quiche with a bowl of Potato & Leek soup. Monika realized we had waited quite awhile for our food and brought us a chunk of carrot cake on the house to make up for the long wait. She said this cake was their bestseller. No room to eat the cake as tummy space was already taken up by quiche and soup, so we brought the cake home. The cake was quite good indeed and I enjoyed the quiche as well. Drinks and soup could have been better. I would have preferred my Matcha Latte to have been sweeter and my mom felt her Chai Latte was a bit too sweet for her. I think this place has potential and perhaps might do better with a bit more help. It's a charming space in a nice, quiet neighborhood. I do hope there will be more staff working here eventually. Kinda sounded like Monika had taken over this shop not too long ago so...guess it's in a bit of a transitional stage. read more

This is a lovely little brunch spot tucked away on a residential block. A converted house, they appear to have live music nights and other things, as well as local art on the walls for sale. They only serve their hot brunch on a weekend, as during the week there is no chef available so it's the pastries and such in the window on offer. We enjoy their brunch offerings, finding them reasonably priced and overall quite tasty. I often get the big breakfast type dish with eggs, bacon etc. They had waffles at one stage that the kids loved but that doesn't seem to be available all the time. We can't go past a pancake on the side, as they're so tasty and cheap! Pancakes all round! ($2 each last time we were there). We enjoy coming here for consistent quality in a different setting. Service can be a little slow at times, though friendly, but they're a small, popular location with minimal staff covering the demand. There's also a small bodega type shop if you wanted to grab premade items or less common snacks. If you come in earlier on a weekend, getting a seat shouldn't be a problem. There's also a nice patio to enjoy the sunny days on. Pretty sure I've seen a few dogs here in the past. They do a good hot brunch which I'd recommend if you're in the area or posting through. read more

Staff is very friendly and muffins and coffee are to die for! We went every morning while we were staying in Pemberton Heights. The inside is very lovely and renovated. Loved the live music on Thursday nights with the special menu and all the food we had was delicious; especially the fish tacos & banana espresso muffins. Margaritas are also very good as well. Couldn't recommend this place more!!! read more

This is the best Mexican food I've had since I lived in San Diego. The cheese in the quesadilla is top notch. Their salsa has the right bite if you want it with mild options if you prefer. I'd give 3.5/5 if possible but Yelp doesn't have half stars! *I wanted to support local small businesses, so I didn't go in unsafely and was very hygienic* I just got a quick chai tea latte and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was really good, and the chai was just standard tazo chai liquid with milk. Still good! Taking a star off because of the price. $20 for two drinks and two cinnamon rolls is a little steep. read more

Hidden gem in Pemberton Heights North Vancouver. Part deli, part general store, but mostly fantastic food. We were lucky enough to be invited by our good friends Judy and Colin for a special French set menu night - and it was tres bien. Such a cool atmosphere and great service...if you get a chance - go. Breakfast, lunch and dinner (weekends only) are all made right there by new chef Christoph. Owners Tracey and Ian will take good care of you. Quaint, chill spot. Basically a licensed coffee shop. Sandwiches, draft and some canned cider/beer. They were busy setting up for a new beer release so they had their hands full. I had a cranberry, chicken, and brie sandwich which was really tasty for $8 and a pint of lager. Good if you just want a sandwich and a quick drink. Their candy selection is really good and they've got all the classics you loved as a kid. Personally a pub is more my thing, but I think if I lived in the neighborhood I'd frequent this place. read more

This place is a wonderful neighbourhood favorite - great for coffee with friends, a glass of wine and tapas on the patio, a delicious Sunday brunch or a lovely casual dinner. I finally made it in to try a Friday night family dinner at the recently renamed Corner Stone Bistro in Pemberton Heights. I was very glad I did! Generous portions of carefully prepared and well-presented food were complimented by several affordable wine choices and friendly service. The space is small but when the summer hits the patio will be very inviting. We shared the antipasto platter which was extremely large; and some of our group had beef bourgignon, the rest chicken marsala. All was excellent, as was the home-made rice pudding dessert. The menu changes weekly - can't wait to try the deluxe burgers and nachos - phone the store to be put on the email list 604-990-3602. Kids can shop for penny candies in the old-time corner store portion of the business while you linger over the last glass of wine. This is a great spot for families seeking a night off from cooking that won't break the bank. Five stars. read more
