Cornerstone Cafe & Coffee is located in Downtown Benson. It is across the street from the Benson Museum which was closed because of a broken AC. But I still decided to stay in Benson for lunch and found Cornerstone Cafe. You wait to be seated then you get to sit where you'd like. I found a table at the window and watched the traffic on the busy street and several trains go through during my lunch. The cafe is inviting with the brick walls and decor. The staff was very eager to take my order, too eager as I didn't even have a chance to look at the menu. Both breakfast and lunch were available to order. Breakfast was very tempting but I decided to go with the lunch menu and the summer chicken salad on a croissant. I also ordered a side of the mac n cheese. Both were delicious although I couldn't finish. But that was my fault for ordering too much. I'd eat here again when I return to visit the museum and try the Elvis waffle. Cornerstone Cafe is a solid choice to eat in Benson, NC.

Wow! What a sweet spot! Waffles galore, served all the time, tasty coffees and lattes, variety of bread selections, sandwich menu is above average, service with a smile is the normal at this place. Prompt and friendly service. Farm to table cafe ambiance.

Avocado chicken pita. I removed the large leaf of romaine so I could chop it up to eat. Asked for tomato.

We're trying to support local. Casual dining, with "healthier" options than fast food and the local home cooking, biscuit establishments is what you'll find here. We're the only customers in here at 4 pm on a Tuesday, and the wait is still nuts. Drink order served, another 20 min for food. Tried the Avocado Chicken Pita special. Chicken has grill marks but is barely warm. Large leaf of romaine on top of everything. I basically dissected the sandwich, cut up some items, and put it back together in order to consume. The pita was soft, kinda warm. My date ordered the 3D sandwich on the hoagie roll. It was okay. It's not as good as it has been in the past. Sandwiches do not come with anything but a pickle, if offered. Sides are extra here. The brownies were old, dry, and crumbly. The server was nice enough. Checked on us a couple of times, refilled drinks. We'll keep trying.

Nope ..... 4 of us walked in and stood in front of the (Please wait to be seated) sign and after 10 minutes of standing there we left ! Many tables did not have food, about 4 employees we seen with 1 cooking ..... Very unskilled staff on the floor and whoever owns this place needs to spend sometime teaching customer service skills ! I see this place tanking downhill with very poor customer service. Takes only 15 seconds to tell folks waiting, welcome, give me a minute or so and I'll get you seated !! Really not a hard process !! Not recommended !!

Made the drive to try Cornerstone and while it wasn't an exhilarating experience, not disappointed. Started off with an iced Carmel Slam, which is a white chocolate and caramel iced latte. Not bad at all. I liked it. Breakfast was the strawberry cheesecake waffle and a side of bacon. Bacon was cooked just how I like it, crispy but a little chew to it. Waffle, wasn't bad, just needed a little more cook time. It was a little soft and still had a hint of batter taste. Strawberries were a little under ripe, too. Coffee came out pretty slow but food didn't take long. Overall, i would definitely come back and try some other items.

My honey and lavender coffee was delicious, unfortunately the 3 star rating was based on the wait and after ordering a chai latte, was told several minutes later they were out of chai mix. Just a bit chaotic at the lunch rush.

The bill with full charges for each meal.

If you are near Benson, stop by this quaint cafe and coffee shop - especially if you like waffles!

The drink menu is huge, and it's clearly geared more toward flavored latte lovers than coffee purists. If you like creative, dessert-style drinks, you'll have plenty to choose from. Drinks: I ordered a cortado, but it came out more like a breve. Not a big deal, but not quite what I was expecting. I also tried The Alchemist -- an iced latte with white chocolate, English toffee, and raspberry. It was enjoyable, but definitely flavor-forward, with the syrups taking center stage more than the espresso. Food: This is where the place really shines. I ordered the chicken biscuit with Sriracha hot honey, and it was excellent. Crispy chicken, a great biscuit, and the sweet heat from the sauce tied everything together perfectly. Overall: If you're looking for a great breakfast or brunch spot with lots of fun drink options, No Filter is a solid choice. If you're hunting for a specialty coffee experience focused on the coffee itself, this probably isn't the destination -- but the food alone makes it worth the stop.
