While in town on business we happened upon the Cornerstone Cafe on a busy Saturday morning. The Apple festival was taking place just down the road so business was booming. Though the restaurant is small and there was a wait, we were seated immediately because of the available bar seats. Our server Lily was the sweetest. Literally exactly what you would expect in a small town diner or cafe. We loved her. And then there was the food. From now on, every biscuit will be judged in comparison to the biscuit at cornerstone. The biscuit was so perfect, that I commented on it with each bite. The gravy that accompanied it was just as delicious. The grits were outstanding and required no addition of salt or cheese. The omelette was good but the fact that bacon bits were used instead of actually chopped bacon strips was disappointing. I scraped as many out as I could. The taste was definitely imitation. Other than this, everything was splendid. If you're ever in Ellijay, GA, visit the cafe!

Staff was very nice, but food left a lot to be desired. All bacon/sausage was over cooked and flavor was not my favorite. Brought 12 people for breakfast and no one was a fan.

Food was amazing. They had fried cabbage which I never had before but will definitely have again. Our server Lily and the chef were so sweet. They were very knowledgeable about the food and friendly. The chef even came out to check how we liked the food. It was a nice experience and very relaxing ambiance.

This was a cute cafe with live music. The food was delicious when it finally came. It was a "seat yourself" establishment, which can be a challenge for quick service. This was no different. We sat for about 15 minutes before being offered drinks, then waited quite a bit more for our food order. The waitress was all over the place, brought lemonades for water refills and charged us for them although they were never ordered or drank by us. We didn't even realize they were lemonades until the bill said we had OJ and we questioned it where we were told that was for the lemonade.....lol. So someone didn't get their lemonade! We were also charged separately for fries with sandwiches that the menu said came with them. So....all that said.... Good: Food was delicious!!! And reasonable (after they removed the extra charges) Needs improvement: Seating is TIGHT. Tiny place with way too many tables squeezed in. Orders are taken way out of order with the "seat yourself" option. We saw multiple people come in well after us that had their food before we even ordered.

I was pleasantly surprised with their food. The restaurant is a small spot with not much room for people to wait to be seated. There's about 7 tables or so. We came in & had to add our name to a waiting list. There was about 5 other parties listed ahead of us & we only waited about 25 minutes (which isn't bad). We sat down & after our order was placed we waited about 40 minutes or so for our food. I wasn't a huge fan of the wait... bc who likes to wait.. BUT everything was fresh & my tastebuds were satisfied.

We had some business to attend to in Ellijay. As we veered back home we opted to stop at a local diner on Main Street USA. Such a cute little town, walkable, eccentric, gives off an artistic vibe. This lil restaurant provided the needed refill as we left the house with no breakfast and A cup of coffee. Simple menu, big on portion sizes and flavor. Biscuits are tender and flaky as one would expect all slathered with the country gravy. I opted similar with two eggs over easy with cheese and bacon bits. Very filling but delish. As we looked around a musician was setting up his guitar for the mornings melody. If you have abs opportunity to stop here, do so. It's worth it.

Stopped in for breakfast Lots of good sounding choices. Very homey place. Nice people. I got the corned beef hash with some over easy eggs. This was very good. Lots of good flavors and crunch. Just the right portion size as well. I finished the whole thing! Deb had the biscuits and gravy. Large portions and tasty! the gravy was delicious. A great spot for breakfast when in the area with great food and reasonable prices and friendly people.

Good bfast place. Important to be patient on a weekend morning. It gets busy. Food was fair priced at $20 for two w/o tip.

Not real big but we made a reservation a day ahead. I loved the Appetizers - shrimp and jalapeños - crispy with a sauce kinda like bang bang shrimp, but better. Brother had a half wedge salad and loved it. The fried Brussels were very tasty with Parmesan cheese and bacon with a Balsamic drizzle. No bread served with the meal, but it wasn't missed. I ordered Blackened salmon with couscous. It was good, cooked properly, but when I tasted my sisters trout, I wished I had ordered it. Panko crusted with collard greens. It was the best. Crispy on the outside, tender on inside and not a real fishy taste. All had a bit of a balsamic juices had seeped into all from the collard greens, which was good but prefer more savory flavors. But enjoyed it immensely. The Roasted chicken was just okay with mashed potatoes. But the best thing of the evening was the apple bread pudding with salted Carmel Ice Cream (Not pictured). A great meal in the North Georgia Mountain area.

Good thing, too. We were about to try a few things that she steered us clear of. Oat milk or half and half were available. -No plastic knives for the cream cheese. We used wooden coffee stirrers which was fine but clumsy to navigate. -Not sure why reviews are so bad for bagels because they were fluffy with just the right amount of chew (close to NY style). I will say that after it being toasted, the bagel was not soft enough the day after to eat. But day-of, it was great. -Small seating area typical of little cafes. A few outdoor tables as well. -Very friendly service. Accommodating and welcoming to our child circus -the cheesy bagel isn't the typical Asiago most places carry, but an actual cheddar blend. Yummy.
