I called Cornerstone Air, Plumbing & Electrical to obtain a second opinion because of toilet smell/leak. My technician was Chris. My experience with Cornerstone was very professional and pleasant. I received a phone call from a service representative informing me that Chris would arrive to my residence within a hour. He was on time. I told him my problem and he listened attentively. He diagnosed my problem and provided a solution and future repair options. I choose to give 5 stars because of the professionalism of the staff from start to finish. In addition, I received a follow-up phone call from Mr. Chris. I will definitely call this company again for any home repair needs that I may have in the future. read more

I had a coupon with tune up for $39 value (1 lbs freon free included if freon was low). When he comes up, freon was low and there was chance of leak. So he made it service call as it was low in freon and AC was not working well according to him, and further the leak detection was chargeable to $198 + freon (chargeable for all)+ fixing it (unknown price). Now coupn says "if low on freon" in AC tune up and technician says "service call" if low in freon and then makes it a leak detection. So 3 star. As it seems complicated to me. Tune up means clean up drain lines, check for any leak and that all parts of AC are working fine. But only got freon checked in service call/ tune up but paid for all as coupn was waste. We just got freon added and AC is running well. I m not prepared to pay for leak detection and fixing as AC was checked 6 months back by AAA airwaves and 2 lbs freon was added too (Sept.) when they came to see AC stopped (coz of ice). So 99% chances last company cheated on us. I have had experience with 3 companies so far and just end paying much more everytime and worst part is AC is 2014 built. Very disappointed in this company! All was going well until the actual work began. after installing $400.00 of Freon I was advised that the coils have a leak. I was told how much a new ac unit would cost and how much a replacement coil would cost. The unit NEVER DID COOL! The tech left...I contacted a different provider and they found the leak in a copper tube; welded it, added 4 lbs. of Freon, and had my unit cooling in approximately 2 hours. One of our AC units stopped working. Cornerstone came right out and repaired it the same day. Their tech, Jay, couldn't have been more polite and respectful. He put boot covers on every time he entered my home and constantly gave me updates on what he was doing next. He was very professional. We even had Jay come back the next day to install Ultraviolet bulbs in both of our units to sanitize the air flowing through our systems. Cornerstone was great when we were in need of spending money with them for new A/C unit. Their techs were efficient and timely in the initial meeting and install. However, after their job failed the inspection they sent out the tech to fix the problem; he only made things worse. The breaker for the heater was the wrong size (35 amp), it was too large of an amperage size so when he came out to fix the problem with the correct size breaker (30 amp) he must have brought the wrong one. Rather than go and get the correct part he took a different breaker from our panel (30 amp) and switched it with the one he brought (35 amp). By doing this he made our pool sub panel breaker be the wrong size and created a huge potential problem for us. When we called Cornerstone for them to come out and fix their problem they said there was nothing they could do about it for the next 4 days. This problem could potential start a fire and they did not seem to care. Very disappointed in their lack of urgency to get this matter resolved. The fact that they sabotage our panel in order to pass their next inspection is the main reason for never wanting to use them again. Very disappointed. read more

Having your AC unit break down in 90 degree weather in Florida is probably the worst thing that can happen. We were serviced by another local company after our AC broke and found out our compressor went out on our 11 year old unit! They gave us a quote of either $5700 or $9700! This was 6:30 in the evening. We suffered through one night unforgiving heat and called several other companies in the morning to get several more bids. We were fortunate enough to get a hold of Miguel and we got a great quote and he said we could have it installed that afternoon! Thank God! The two young men were professional and did a great job and we had air that evening. We are happy campers :) read more

I was told a simple Float Switch (a $20 part) was going to cost $250 on top of another $250 for a thermostat replacement. Red flags started going up all over the place and I said "no thanks". Had them pack up their stuff and go. Bought a $25 thermostat at Home Depot to put in myself and as soon as the AC was working again I checked the float switch, it worked exactly as it was supposed to there was nothing wrong with it. I cannot stress enough how much you should avoid this company. read more

It was a very disappointing experience when I called Cornerstone (like I have in the past), I explained that I needed my faucet valve in my bathroom replaced. I was given a window for the following day, which was wonderful. I then received a call from the dispatcher saying they have availability on another day. I explained that we already have a time tomorrow and she let me know that it can happen tomorrow but it won't be a scheduled time but they would call 30 mins in advanced. Which was fine, considering we needed to have our shower up and working. By 12 nothing so I called, again someone will be out between 3-4... ok thats fine. 5, still nothing so I called again, and they would be coming out right after. When the plumber got to our home, he said he could do the work but it would take about 3-4 hours and won't be scheduled until the following week! This was an estimate?? The 4 or 5 times I spoke with Cornerstone, it was never an estimate... never mentioned. I'm not sure whats wrong with the communication but by no means did they have to charge us $50 to tell us what we already knew. Unfortunately, in the past they were great. Not so much this time. We won't be using them again, and I am hoping to get my $50 back! read more

I called Cornerstone based on the reviews on yelp. I had a ac balancing issue I needed help with. The first two people I spoke with all said the company could help fix the air balancing issue and went into details as to how they would address the issue. I then set up an appointment with the scheduler and then reconfirmed what the tech would do on the service visit. After being put on hold for a few minutes, I was then told they did not do air rebalancing for new customers. Wasted 20 minutes of my time. read more

I do not recommend this companies plumbing services to anyone unless you want to have headache after headache. Back in November 2018 they completed a sewer line replacement after one of their workers put a shovel through a pipe when I called them because there was a problem with my tub not draining inside of the house. That proceeded to become a very expensive nightmare where the entire bag yard was dug up and left that way for months. They didn't pull the proper permits in a timely manner. When they did pull permits the job did not pass inspections.They did not work weekends. I had no use of my bathrooms for an extended time. The communication was horrible. In order to receive a discount for this job I joined their savings club where they come and check your plumbing once a year. Now they came to do the checkup and moved the pan under my water heater needlessly, bent it and as a result caused a small leak in the copper pipe that ran from it. After many calls and miscommunications they sent two people here to check the situation and did nothing to repair it. The last person I spoke with was Kenny, title unknown, who was very rude and told me I would be unable to communicate with the owner. When I mentioned reviewing the company he said reviews did not matter to him, that no one looked at reviews anyway. He said if the apprentice plumber they sent out to look at the pan issue would not have shined the light on the pipe I would have never known about the leak. He basically called me a liar. I had to contract another plumbing company to come and fix the problem Cornestone Pros caused and their master plumber with many years experience said that it was very likely that the movement of the pan and heater could have caused that small leak or the forceful turning of the valve above it also could have caused it, that was another thing Cornestone did as part of their "check". So Exceptional service, Never take your trust for granted, Pride in our work and all the nice things they say in their jingle went out the door once again. I don't know who doesn't read and take reviews into consideration when hiring a company, but I know I do and I hope this will help someone out there when making a decision about what plumber to hire or not to hire. read more

We called this morning and received an arrival timeframe of between 10-2. We also got an hour call ahead to let us know they were on their way. We have used Cornerstone a couple of times for different homes, but this most recent service call was exceptional. The tech was able to help us figure out why the unit kept freezing over at odd times even though the unit seem to be running correctly. Being the experts they are they helped us realized that a squirrel had gotten into the attic and tore apart the duct work. They were quick to fix problem and the house is finally cooling properly. This is also going to save on the electric bill now that the home isnt just cooling the attic. They are even handling the permit inspection from the city. I have been relying on Cornerstone Pros for a year now and have never had a problem with them. They have installed a new A/C system last year and have addressed a plumbing and electrical issue recently. There is a pond in my back yard with a fountain that quit working. I thought it was an outside switch to the fountain but they determined there wasn't. The two service men were going to walk out into the water to try to determine the problem but I advised them not to. Despite telling me it would be another charge to come back later if they obtain a boat to check the fountain I told them to get the boat and come back rather than walk out into a muddy silt filled pond. Most recently I had an estimate on a stand by generator. Michael took time to explain everything and answered any questions I had. I have done business with Cornerstone a few times in the past once for an AC repair, which they had to come back because it was wired improperly and for a new unit install. I was never too impressed, however the were able to come out fast so I gave them my business. This most recent time I called them out to check the AC on a rental unit. They scheduled with the tenant. Checked the unit and left. The technician called me from his truck to tell me he was writing up an estimate for repair and would email it to me. What good is an emailed estimate. I called to get the Air working. I was upset because they made no effort to actually fix the issue. I knew at that moment I would have to call someone else. I waited 3 days and still no email. I called the office, they said ooops, we have the wrong email address. The written quote was over $1200.00 A tech from another company came out, fixed the issue. Charged me $125 and it has been ice cold ever since. When I called I asked them to waive the service call fee. They refused. Not that they would care that someone is without AIR from the time it takes them to get back to me. They did have a working phone number to text or call, and in the mean time people are suffering in the Florida summer heat without air. I will never call them for anything ever again. Only 1 star because I had to mark it. This really should have a -5 stars. I called Friday night looking for a plumber because my tub would not drain. I called and asked if they offered after hours service, was told yes not a problem. About 45 mins later the plumber arrives pissed off because he has to come over. He walked in smelling of cigarettes and was just irritated to be there. I told him what had happened and of course he started making rude remarks about using drano. He said the clog was due from 40 years of drano. Which was completely wrong. He was slamming his equipment around and cussing. He continously grunted and sighed because he had to come out. First off he should have stayed home. It was not like I wanted to pay the after prices for no reason....much less pay for some jerk to come and be rude. He said he was unable to unclog the piping and needed to take out my tub in order to figure out the issue. He was so pissed off that he couldn't get is equipment to back in the case. So not only was he insulting he didn't fix the clog. I am very disappointed in his professionalism and will NOT ever use this company again. I must say I was very impressed with this company. After a long day out shopping and showing the Tampa area to out of town friends, we arrived home around 6:45 pm to a rather warm house. I turned down the A/C but the air was warm. We checked out side and the fan was not working. We typically call another company, but the last time the charge was a bit high and we had to wait 2 days for a part to arrive. This time I checked in Yelp. I went with cornerstone because of the previous review. Took a chance and went for it, we called around 7 pm and was told to expect service between 8 and 11 pm. Approximately an half hour later we received a call saying their were on their way. The technician arrived ( his name was Chris) and got to work, a few minutes later the a/c was up and running. He explained we needed a part to ensure the blow up would not happen again, but we did not feel pressured to purchase it from him. He had a laminated price list, which I thought was really cool and I certainly did not think I was taking advantage of even for being a Saturday evening. I will absolutely call them again. Cornerstone installed a Trane AC in my condo and left wires dangling in the AC closet and insulation half hanging. Had this been a low bid AC install, I suppose I could say I got what I paid for, however I paid $,5000 on this AC. I expected a better job. On the outside unit they poorly wrapped the insulation around the pipes that I had to go out and redo it myself. Needless to say when my other condo AC went out, I called "WE CARE AIR CARE", not Cornerstone. Tim and his crew actually pulled a PERMIT and had his work inspected by the county after his AC installation; which is when I realized something was majorly wrong with Cornerstone. Cornerstone never pulled a permit, and if they had, this would never had passed! They promised to come back and fix it and they never have. Today I went to them to ask them to please come back and fix their work yet again, they want me to pay a SERVICE Charge plus a FEE to fix their poor work. I think I will write some good PR for them. They were able to diagnose and replace my faulty hot water heater within 24 hours and it was over the weekend! Kiel the technician was professional and polite, and his work was extremely clean. We used Cornerstone in October 2014, we thought the service was okaty, but the price seemed high. They told us we had a leak in one unit and would need to think of purchasing a new unit. I referred them to my parents house, since they were also having AC issues. They immediately told them she needed a new unit, and charged them over 400 dollars for being there 30 minutes. Their unit is working fine and had another AC company come out and tell them they do NOT need a new unit at all. We recently needed our AC unit serviced ad called a local company to come out. My call was answered quickly and was surprised that they had a same day appointment within a few hours of my call. Mike Hall was the tech and he called to tell me he was on his way. Mike diagnosed the issue within minutes with my toilet and even offered to check the other two toilets to prevent future occurrence. I was out of town, so he texted me before and after pics, and my paid invoice since I paid over the phone with the office. Now THAT's customer service! I have never dealt with a company that is so insensative to a custumers needs than Cornerstone pros. All the lies that they advertise is just that lies. I moved down to Florida from up north in March of 2016. In May I contacted Cornerstone pros to receive information about water softner I purchase the water softner after they came to my home I had them check my air conditioner. Their salesperson had advised me that my unit was running a lttle high so not knowing if this were true or not I asked them to install a new unit so that I would not have to deal with a problem in the middle of the summer. They also told me that my water heater was old to replace it. I as a new home owner in this region I ended up purchasing a hybrid water heater an air conditioner and a water softner. I also purchased a maintenance contract with them that would allow them to come twice a year to service or check the units. They came six months later and serviced the water heater and their techician ended up ruining a portion of my lawn by pouring the waste water onto my lawn and it killed that part of my lawn. Ater a year and four months they came to service my new air conditioner unit. While the tech from cornerstone was here he told me that I had to replace my UV light at a cost of 175.00 dollars so the tech opened the unit and replaced the UV light and whatever else he did. Keep in mind that the unit that I paid eight thousand dollars for was only 15 months old, One day after the tech left my air conditioner started to fail well I called them back and they told me that my unit was beyond the one year guarantee that in order to get it fixed I had to pay a service charge of over 1000.00 dollars. Well I was beside myself because it was there tech who serviced the unit and before he did, it was working just fine. I ended up paying 275.00 for the service call and trying to get them to sell me a service contract for a reduce rate which was over eight hundred dollars that they wanted to charge me. I had just paid them 275.00 for the service call which to me was an enormous fee since it was there tech who serviced my air conditioner that was working just fine before the came to work on it. My whole unit all the pipes froze how could I have caused that there is no way after spending so much money on three units over 20000.00 dollars also had electrical work done that cost me even more. All expenditures were made within a weeks time. Cornerstone is now taking the position that they no longer want to service any of the units they installed and have referred me to another company their compeitor. Because I complained that it was their tech who handled the service on the unit and opened it all up and then they tried to bilk me out of so much money they send me a letter telling me that they are no longer interested in serviceing my units that I purchased and paid over 200.00 over the past year and a half on a maintenance contract. Nice work Cornerstone practice what you preach in your advertisement. I also forgot to mention I got a family member to purchase a new air conditioner from Cornerstone what a mistake that was. read more

I'm in the process of buying a home and just had a home inspection performed. The inspector pointed out a couple of issues that should be repaired by professionals. The exposed copper wiring in the electrical panel had blue and purple discoloration, and using an infrared camera, he detected moisture buildup in the wall between the master bath tub and kitchen. I reached out to Cornerstone for a couple of repair quotes, since they had good reviews and their site advertises that quotes are free, so I could try to negotiate the sale price on the home. After submitting the details on their website, I was called less than 15 minutes later to be informed that technicians would have to go onsite to inspect before giving me quotes for my requests, but that they would give me the reduced rate of $39 for each, rather than full price. Not quite free as advertised, but I agreed on that price thinking it was gonna save me some money on the house. After scheduling the appointments for 2 technicians, I wasn't able to get my schedule cleared to be onsite while they were there. Cornerstone told me I could provide them my CC to have on file, and as long as someone was present to let the technicians in, they could perform what was agreed to, call me to let me know what was recommended, and if their was anything to be done immediately, get my authorization to do so. I let them know the current home owner's renters would be present to let the technicians in, so all was set. The electrician calls me and says he doesn't see any discoloration in the electrical panel wiring. I saw it for myself, and had the pictures in my inspection report.I told him my worry was about a possible fire hazard, because that's what the inspector told me to be wary of. He said there weren't any problems, so I thanked him and that was that. I never spoke with the plumber. He left me a voicemail stating he couldn't find the leak. Well of course not, it's behind the wall. And I didn't need it to be found yet, just a quote on what it could cost to find it and fix it, given the different things that could be causing it. I called him back, and left a message saying as much, but he never called me back. So I've effectively paid $80 and have no quotes to show for it. I emailed Cornerstone, because I felt what I submitted on their web form, wasn't properly communicated to the technicians, especially the plumber, and I wasn't getting what I asked for, which should have been free in the first place. I provided the pictures from the inspection report to try to be as clear as possible. The following morning, I received 2 voice mails, one person asking for a call back, the other saying they would send another plumber back to the property. I call back, and neither person is available, so I explain to the new person on the phone, I don't need service performed, I need a potential repair quote to negotiate the sale price of the house. After being put on hold for a few minutes, I was finally given some $$$ figures to go along with several different scenarios, which is all I wanted in the first place. They typed it up and emailed it to me to provide to my agent. But my experience gets worse from there. I had 2 charges show up on my credit card, as expected. One was for the agreed $39, the other was for $213!! I call Cornerstone back and ask for an explanation, since I was told $39 for each one. They tell me the plumber performed a visual inspection and this is how much it costs. Again, I was told $39 which is all I agreed to. Anything more than that, they were supposed to call me for authorization. They said they didn't know who authorized the extra charge, which made me irate because why would you accept an authorization and not know who gave it, especialy when it's not the person paying for it! They asked if I would like someone from management call me to discuss further, because they couldn't do anything about the charge at this point. Damn right I did! They were supposed to have a manager call me within 24 hours. 2 full business days have come and gone, no call. Seems pretty clear to me this company uses false advertising, poor communication and plain dishonesty, to try and get money out of people. read more

Came home late last Friday evening after a long day of work to find that our AC wasn't working and it was 82 degrees in our home. I'd heard good things about Cornerstone and gave them a call, even though I assumed I'd get a voicemail since it was after 8PM. Much to my surprise, my call was answered by an after hours receptionist, who promised that a technician would get in contact with me shortly. Not 20 minutes later, the tech called to say he had 2 calls in front of me but that he would come to my location after he had finished his previous calls. I live in Dade City - certainly not an "on the way" location! By 9:30PM my tech had arrived. He worked hard for over an hour and made sure that he didn't leave until my problem was diagnosed and resolved and I had AC again. So very grateful to Cornerstone going above and beyond, out and about, until late in the night so I could get a good night's sleep and enjoy the weekend! :) Will definitely use them again! read more

TERRIBLE company. The last 2 times that they've come out for our "scheduled maintenance" that came with our service plan, our a/c has stopped working properly IMMEDIATELY after they leave. This time, the technician told us that because we've had work done by another company (an honest family friend who doesn't charge SO much) they wouldn't be able to honor a warranty on parts (not that I expected them to...) but our a/c stopped blowing cold air as soon as he left. My husband called to tell them that our a/c stopped working directly following the maintenance call and she said that the technician would come back out, but if it was determined that the malfunction was due to the previous company's work then they would have to charge us a service fee. ARE YOU SERIOUS????? Your technician left my house an hour and a half ago!! Clearly it was because of something he did. Such a lousy dishonest company. Whether I have to pay the service fee or not I will not even bother with the rest of our service agreement. I'm NEVER doing business with this company again. read more

Had them install a whole new unit last March. In April condenser unit leaked - over flowed the drip pan - and destroyed my garage door opener. Called Cornerstone out, they said drain pipe had clogged - not their fault. Charged $209 to blow out pipe plus I had to buy new garage door opener. Today had a different company do winter checkup. The tech had to level drip pan and properly connect cut-off switches on drip line. By the way he also cigarette butts in the blower housing!! Not professional or reliable. read more

They sold me an A/C unit at $5,000 that later I found out was being sold at just over $3,100 with other A/C companies. On a maintenance visit 2 years later the A/C coil of that same unit 'broke' for no apparent reason and they wanted to charge me an extra $1,000 for 'labor' even though it was covered under the warranty. I called another A/C repair company since I figured a 2 year old coil would not break down easily and the technician confirmed my suspicion that the A/C coil was tampered with and broken by external means by someone who knew how to break it without damaging other parts of the unit. Cornerstone Air Conditioning & Heating Inc. is extremely dishonest and criminal in their practice, they should be avoided at all cost. I will be following up with a complaint with the BBB and I want to advice to all of you to stay away from these criminals but don't take my word for it, you can call them up and roll the dice yourself, it will only cost you a good amount of your hard earned money to prove me wrong.
