If there was a lower score I'd enter it.. we used to eat here often years ago but their 1/4 lb. burger, since the 1/2 lb. burger was North of $20, was terrible. The wait staff was pleasant but it took almost 30 minutes for lunch to arrive. The hamburger buns were thick and cold and tasteless.. I have no idea where these came from but Eugene is stocked with better choices. The lemonade was made from powder and barely drinkable.. I added tea when the waitress was carrying around refills for both so it became drinkable. Sorry a few have fallen so far but many Eugene diners have never recovered from Covid and we miss the "good 'ole days". What can I say? I love Cornucopia. Even throughout their price increases, which is what most of my friends complain about. (But that's okay I don't want to eat out with anybody but my wife these days anyways haha.) We always get their hot wings, extra crispy. The buffalo sauce they make in-house is SO GOOD. I haven't had Cornucopia in years. I decided to order a burger and cauliflower wings today. The burger was amazing so I have nothing to say about that.. the cauliflower wings were also very good however the serving size for nearly $14 was ridiculously small. I couldn't believe when I looked in the box how very little of a serving was in there. The wings are also a lot smaller than depicted on the photo. I wouldn't have bought them if I knew how much of a rip off they were. The flavor was great but the serving size was very disappointing and felt like a big waste of money. read more

This review is regarding the service and quality of food. I ordered the Aloha burger and when I asked some clarifying questions I got a very argumentative tone from the server. I simply asked if I could have my burger medium rare or is it a smash burger. She said she didn't know what a smash burger was but the quarter pounder is "too thin" for a temperature request. I ordered the half pound medium rare since that was the only way I could choose the temperature. The burger arrived seared on the outside and cold/gray on the inside. When I tasted it, it's clearly not fresh. These pattys are not made by hand, the only explanation is that they are frozen. My other 2 friends got the quarter pounders and they agreed their pattys didn't taste fresh. They tasted frozen like something you would get from the grocery store and reheat. Not juicy or flavorful. For over $20 I would expect a fresh patty. The burger toppings themselves were good and accurate, which is why I am giving 2 stars. read more

I had dinner there last evening with a friend on the sidewalk patio. This completed the 4 tables with customers. I went inside to let them know we were there. I couldn't believe no one was inside, but this was at 8:30. The gal helping didn't look pleased. I think she was looking to leave early. Maybe you do close early, but yet you say open till 10 pm on Friday. Food was great as usual. I just couldn't get over how your server was not attentive. They didn't serve ice with our water which seemed unusual. Even with my friends drink. So she needed to ask for it.. Then at 9:40 they turned off the outside lights. So I went in to inquire about that. I asked if she was "kicking us out" she said you would know if I was kicking you out. I told her that was a rude comment to make to a customer. Cornucopia on 5th has always had great food and huge portions. It's gotten pretty expensive over time but so has life. I would much rather pay for the delicious, high quality food here than pay a similar amount at a restaurant for subpar ingredients. The last few times we went the service was good and the food came out faster than I remember. It's so hard to staff restaurants so this is surprising and awesome! I've eaten at Cornucopia in several different situations, with clients, with friends, and recently a surprise birthday party for myself. I've never been disappointed with their food and service. The hamburgers just freaking rock. Friday evening was no exception, they were slammed yet our server, Stan, did an amazing job. He recommended some damn good beers too. The food was AMAZING. We definitely could have shared the fish and chips, the portions were so big. My kids said the chicken was the best they had ever had and- for their 10 years of chicken tender expertise- says ALOT. We shared a Bavarian pretzel- super yummy with the beer cheese and mustard they serve with it. Our server, Soleil, was great! Super friendly, very on top of things, and made sure we were taken care of all the way through. Our little family just happened upon this restaurant on our way through Eugene and we are SUPER happy we did. We highly recommend this restaurant!! Our food came out as ordered and was very good. The portions were good sized so I had enough leftovers for another meal. Prices were reasonable which is important in a college town. This 17th Ave. location has really gone downhill since I last visited. It used to be a favorite lunch spot when out with a friend. I was there on Tuesday, June 4, with a friend and had what I can only describe as the worst burger (got the one with Swiss cheese and mushrooms) I ever remember having in a restaurant in my adult life. The burger was very over-cooked, dry and hard to the point of being difficult to eat. It also tasted like there were onions on the grill it was cooked on. (I dislike onions in burgers.) I probably should have sent it back but I didn't want to create a fuss while with my friend. The fries were fine as was the service. Still, the burger was so bad that I have to give this place one star. Probably won't be showing up again as they took my favorite item, the Reuben, off the menu. I know that this is an incredibly popular and established restaurant in Eugene and this is the second time I've tried it and again I'm disappointed so maybe I just have really bad luck. My twins wanted it for their 20th birthday so I asked for curbside pick up. I went to the restaurant and parked and tried to call and no one would answer the phone after calling four times in about 10 minutes I finally got someone to pick up. First they told me I hadn't paid for it even though I had online then they said it wasn't ready even though it's now 10 minutes after the time I said I pick it up. This place has my favorite veggie burger in Eugene. It's unique and not just a Boca burger slapped on a bun. You can get any of their burgers listed on their menu as a "vurger". My go to is the aloha vurger which has teriyaki sauce, slaw, and pineapple on it. Yum! The Cajun fries are pretty bomb as well. The portion is huge. I cut my vurger in half and take half home along with half the fries. Monday's also happen to be the burger special day. Burger, fries/tots, and a pint for $14.95 and it's two meals for me. My husband eats his burger in one sitting so I guess how many meals you'll get out of it depends on your own appetite size. They certainly don't gyp you on the portions though. Seating can be a bit limited. If you're a group you'll most likely have to put in a name and grab a drink. There are worse things in life. read more

Cornucopia is a good news / bad news joke. Decent atmosphere and the burgers are good but everything is super expensive, all the basic food options (a burger or a salad, etc) are about $25. Then on top op that they charge you for using a credit card. I know they have fees, every business does, but asking customers to pay them for paying them seems wrong. Some of the staff were delightful and some were quite rude, so the service is a bit of a crap shoot. I'm unlikely to go again but it's worth going once. read more

My life will never be the same after having that bacon cheese dip. I don't know why but that dip has a hold on me. Sometimes I'll just randomly start craving it and I can't let it go. I have to have it. The bacon cheese dip. Nothing else matters but the dip. And then when I finally cave in and order it from cornucopia it's like I'm in a weird haze and then it's gone. Cornucopia offers the absolute freshest food in Eugene! I can tell because the only explanation for the wait time is that they grow it from scratch. They took nearly half an hour to make an appetizer. I think they went and caught the fish fresh for my girlfriend's salad, at least. Which would've been cool if I hadn't planned on eating that hour. As other reviews have pointed out, this place does not have it together. I was embarrassed for them. This would be an excellent location to film the next Sarah McLachlan animal rescue charity commercial because everything about it is sad and just wrenches your heart. We had Ceviche, Philly cheesesteak, Tater tot's and the New Jersey Girl grilled cheese, All of it was pretty good except for the coleslaw that came with the sandwich. If you order online, be prepared to wait a very long time for your order. It was said to be arriving nearly an hour before it actually did. Once it arrived, more than half of the items were missing. The food that did arrive was cold. Not sure if it's an issue with the restaurant completely forgetting multiple items or if its an issue with the driver. Very disappointing. I've tried several times thinking it was just a one time deal but unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be the case. I'd love to review their amazing pot pie, but GrubHub says they're closed, and I was told to request them after when I called. I can make a better burger than anything cornucopia offers. In fact, bettered than anywhere I've been. However, The Paddock ever makes a better one than this pathetic place. First I am going start this review by saying that Cornucopia's has the very best tasting burgers I have ever had in all my wonderings. Maybe a bit spendy? Yah, but hey, I say that a burger this fantastic is way, way worth the cost. And now on with the rest of the review. The service was just ok, the waitress was very friendly and helpful but after about 15 minutes I finally did finally have to get her attention when I needed a beer refill. But they were pretty fast otherwise. The dinning area needed to be swept up, there were large table scraps left under the table next to me the whole hour and a half that I was there without anyone taking care of it. Other than that the place was really cozy and welcoming. The music was 60's rock, with The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix and The Doors, just to name a few... Oh yah, good stuff indeed and not so loud so you could hear yourself think if you needed to. And the gender neutral bathrooms were clean and well stocked. I would say that this place was more for the locals, I dont think too many tourists would bump into it but they ever did they would get a pretty good idea of what Eugene is all about... ;) Good Job guys... I enjoy coming here every once in a while. My partner & I usually go to 5th st. since getting seated at 17th can take awhile. We were craving burgers the other day and was told by the server they use to make their own buns and now they don't. I was told by my partner they have cut so many costs with so many things especially when new partnerships happened. You don't get the little extras like the pickles either. They have won year after year with their burgers for about 14 years now. The day after eating though, I got extremely nauseated and I know it had to have been from the quality of the burgers. There is such a thing as cheap filler bread and it's the same feeling I get every time I eat it. I hope they bring back their homemade buns, but for now I'll have a lettuce wrap or a gluten free option if they offer it. read more

I like this restaurant's ambiance. I've always liked their food. The waiters could be more attentive, though they were busy. My issue is their prices. They seemed to go up during Covid and they charge a lot more for drinks than any other place on their level. The food is overpriced also. I may be back because I like the atmosphere a lot and the food is good. Definitely not as much as I used to before Covid. I have had good experiences at Cornucopia in the past but today was awful. I went with a friend for lunch. My friend is 84yo and dependent on Soc Sec, so this was to be a rare treat. She wanted cheeseburger cooked rare, with onion rings instead of fries. The waitress advised that they could not cook their 1/4 lb burger rare and that she should order the 1/2lb burger instead if she wanted rare, so that is what she did. This cost her an additional several $. When it came, the burger was very well done, not rare. It was grey, dry and unappealing. The onion rings were not battered but breaded. The server took forever to check back, and did offer to take it back and bring another one. Not wanting the food to go to waste, my friend declined the offer to recook, saying "just box it up. I'll. Give it to my dog". (She doesn't have a dog). At no point did the server make any offer of recompense, nor was there any apology. In the end my friend ended up paying $23 for a cheeseburger & rings. The burger was inedible & the rings average. The service was shoddy and unconcerned. A restaurant with the reputation Cornucopia has should at least have offered an apology and have given her a coupon for a future meal. Neither of us will be back again. The deck in back was nice though. Our experience could have been so much better with a little sense of pride in their product and concern for their customers. read more
