They transformed the backyard from a jungle of gnarled and spiky invasive plants into a beautiful green paradise, and the front yard into a drought resistant garden, all equipped with CA Native plants of our choosing. Israel was quick to respond from the very beginning, worked with our budget, was very thorough while working quickly. They cleared out the treacherous backyard, planted a wide range of plants and installed gravel, stepping stones, and a sprinkler system. I would completely trust Corona to do everything on their own in terms of plant selection and design, but we wanted specific plants and so we got to work closely with Israel on the selection. We went to a nursery with Israel, who educated us a lot on the plants, made helpful suggestions, and listened to what we wanted, but also letting us know when something might not work. Israel came back to check on the garden several times to make sure we were happy, too! After getting a couple estimates from other companies we decided to go with Israel and we are so glad we did. The other companies (including one very large company with tons of reviews) wanting to give us less, charge us more and made sure to let us know that there were no guarantees. Israel, on the other hand, was very easy to work with, was great with our budget, and even including things we didn't think we could afford like an irrigation system. Israel is a very kind, great guy and you can tell he really cares about his projects. He really listened to us and wanted to make our vision come true while still offering smart suggestions and his expertise. We really didn't want grass as a ground cover and he helped us find 2 grass alternatives that we love. He also gave us our kumquat tree and passion fruit vines we wanted and a whole bunch of other native, drought resistant plants that look and smell great. He even took us to a nursery where we got to pick the plants we wanted which was super educational and fun. The result is a front and back yard of our dreams that just keeps getting better. Israel has a great aesthetic and truly is an artist. Even the stepping stones he custom cut for us are perfect. Also, he has been great at keeping up with with us and any adjustments we needed. I really got the sense that the other, more expensive companies were gonna be done with us when the finished but not Israel. oh and he and his crew worked so fast to get everything done. Israel Corona did an amazing job improving our backyard. He installed a new privacy fence according to our design, rebuilt a retaining wall with wonderful artistic touches, redid irrigation, and more. He even helped refinish some previous with that was done poorly, bringing the overall look up to his new wall. He was responsive, very communicative about the design of elements, all at a fair price. I'm very glad that we hired Israel and his team to work on our patio remodel. Our patio was paved with tiles and cements beneath. As the trees grow over time, the tree roots came towards the house and cracked the ground and tiles, so we have to remove everything and redo the ground paving. I reached out to many landscaping companies but didn't get instant pricing mainly due to the small size of our patio. Israel and his guys came the very next day after I reached out, and provided us a reasonable price range with a few options of pavers that would fit right into our patio. They moved really fast and got everything done step by step within a few days. I'm very content with the finish look! Israel and his team not only just delivered new pavers looking neat and clean but also fixed the unlevel issue that might cause drainage problem in the future. Israel and his crew were excellent. I decided to go drought tolerant and hired Israel from his yelp reviews. He was always on time and his crew and him were true professionals. He demoed the old landscaping which was a lot of work, removed three 10 yard dumpsters full of dirt, grass and plants and transformed my yard into a drought tolerant landscape. He installed a drip system and although the plants you see in the pics are not mature they will grow in large and cover the front with beautiful colors. He planted close to 200 plants and not one has died which is amazing to me. He amended the soil, put weed barrier and mulch to cover. I am so impressed with his work and his crew that i cannot recommend him more. His prices are great for the amount of work that he did and the job took 1 week from start to finish. He repaired stone steps to blend into my yard, built and planted a tiered garden and a raised planting bed both with sprinkler systems and accent lighting, added pavers to widen my driveway and sodded my lawn. Let me start by saying that I only had a consultation with Corona Artscaping. I called based on the fantastic reviews I read. I left a voicemail this morning and they called back within the hour or two. I spoke to Cody who was very nice. He was able to set me up with an appointment for quote the same day because I happened to call on the day the were driving around doing all their estimates. They actually just left my house. They came and looked at the area I wanted landscaped - my parkway, which is overgrown in Devil's grass, and hopefully to be replaced with decomposed granite. Israel quoted me 2k for the project which they said would take two days. I told him upfront that his estimate was out of my budget and the other quotes I received from landscapers were in the $500-600 range. He got pretty defensive and mentioned that that's how much it cost to put gas in his truck and that I should totally hire the "Home Depot" guys. When I said that they were other landscapers that gave me that quote he just got into his car with Cody and as he was closing the door said that amount is also how much the materials costs. No formal good bye really. I don't like to go out of my way to leave low reviews, but Israel's behavior was really unprofessional and I don't believe that's a great way to advocate quality workmanship. I imagine other people on yelp are looking for people who will do the job right (he may be able to) and offer reasonable and competitive prices (he did not for me) as well as being treated respectfully. Landscape projects can be arduous and you want to find someone that you'll be able to work well with over the course of that project. Though this job wasn't the right fit for us to work together, Israel was rude and dismissive to the point where it was clear he did not even consider I could be a future client, and so I too will not be considering Corona Artscaping as a possible contractor in the future. read more

I gave him 5 stars because his prices are very fair and he's definitely on top of his game. As a busy professional, its important to me is that I can reach him, he shows up on time, he actually listens to what I want and he works with my schedule. He has great ideas, moves fast on his projects, and seems like he can literally do anything. I've used him twice so far, and he's taken on a myriad of tasks - laying a new concrete & brick driveway, building a walkway in the yard area with re-purposed concrete from the old driveway, installing an automatic sprinkler system, weed guard and decomposed granite ground cover, designing landscape plans & shopping for plants with me and of course, planting. I have gone with Israel several times in the past few years for a number of landscaping projects, and have been very pleased with the service. The yardwork looks fantastic, they are fast, fairly priced, and very gracious. Most recently, my sprinkler control system went a little haywire, and I needed Israel to correct the issue, as some of the plants & grass were suffering. He came the same day, and for an extremely low price, not only did he reset the system, he showed me exactly how to reprogram it for the four separate valves on the system, and he repaired all the sprinkler heads, and even added another head just to be sure the driest part of the lawn was getting water. I asked them for a quote for a metal and concrete retaining wall and the owner and his metal guy came over that afternoon. The owner was saying how it was going to be and I asked one question based on a little research I did on the internet of the style I liked and the guy was so rude with his answer that I stopped them and got them to leave. They also installed a drip system to ensure each plant gets watered and also fixed sprinklers that had broken down. There is something off with this guy, which I suspected after reading other reviews. Everything started well. Israel came right out and gave me a bid on the spot, which I accepted. He sent me the bid on June 19. We didn't schedule a date to start bc I had to get someone to move a hose bib first. I then had unexpected work travel, and then a death in the family which landed me in Europe. 4 weeks after sending the bid, Israel emailed to see if I was still interested (I was in Europe). I said YES, definitely and would schedule when I returned in 2 weeks. He responded by saying the bid was no longer available, and increased the price 35%. Certainly no costs had increased for him. Very short sighted. I have 4 neighbors who have projects, and were waiting to see how mine went and would have used him. Really dumb. So, instead of doing my job this week, he gets this review. read more
