I was clear with the lease agent that I do podcasting and need a quiet office. "We've never had a noise issue" I was told. I should have asked the neighbors, they would have attested to how loud it is. I couldn't get any of my core duties done. They charge excessive fees, will hold your deposit for 60 days when normal is 18 days in CAL. Bottom line it's an over priced space. I also got charged $200 for cleaning a tiny 10 x 10 office that was perfectly clean when I left. They charged me anyway because "they can, it's in your contract"! That's their attitude once you are bound by contract. Just don't judge this book by it's cover, it isn't what it seems at this Westlake Village Location. Nice entry, but once you are in you are stuck! As with most leasing agents they are all smiles and sound accommodating, but after the contract is inked, that all ends. And this is the first coworking space I've heard of that has a massage suite. Words fail to describe how epic this place is, I think it would be amazing to rent out for team meetings, retreats and other events, and don't even get me started on the podcast room. I wrote one myself, which I was just now about to update, and it has disappeared along with all the rest. Honestly, this makes me question why I should ever trust Yelp itself ever again, considering this apartment complex has been in this same place with the same name for over 2 decades at least. As for the apartment complex itself, I will reiterate here some of my still as yet unresolved complaints from my now-deleted previous review that I wrote last year. First of all, the building I live in itself isn't really the problem (thankfully I don't live in the units which are literally right next to the railroad tracks/train station, which seems like an absolute nightmare). Also, the maintenance staff seem to do their job Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the so-called management . I literally have no idea what they do! They do not answer the phones. They very rarely answer the door to the leasing office, and there is no one there on the weekends at all now, anyway. So, if you have an issue on the weekends you're on your own, or you will need to call the police, because the security won't come out until after 10pm (if they come at all...). The security service is called L.A. Security & Patrol. This property is in Simi Valley.... The previous management had the good sense to hire a local company for this service.. Besides being far away, some of their people seem absolutely useless. Which is a shame, because living here you often find yourself needing their services. Due to the adjacent train station, there are lots of vagrants & criminals nearby, some of whom sometimes take up residence on the property itself for extended periods of time (see picture below). They also break into the pool area at night. Honestly though they are less troublesome than the usual crowd at the pool area, which serves as some kind of Block Party location on weeknights and throughout the entire weekend during the summer, with large crowds (often obviously exceeding the stated capacity limit), loud music (their own written rules say only headphones allowed, but people consistently play music so loud I can hear it over my TV when it's turned up all the way), and I have even seen people carrying around large knives! I rarely recognize any of these people as my neighbors, but people know there is no enforcement so they just sneak in, apparently. I would think that the management would be incentivized to do something about all of this, since it also sometimes affects them. Someone even recently stole their golf cart from the leasing office (which is adjacent to the pool), lmfao. You can't make this stuff up! I probably should've already moved, but there are good running trails in the hills nearby, and I thought that surely at some point this current management team would implode and be replaced by a (hopefully) better crew. I was quite happy here under the previous management, which is partially why I've stayed on longer than I ever should have. (Anyone interested can go through my review history to see the glowing review I left for them, along with the previous bad review I left last year for the current ownership).

We leased a home through them for a year while our new home was being built. From the very beginning through the very end, the entire experience was mishandled. When we originally looked at the home, we were told that a shed in the back would be available to use. This was a big part of what made this home good for us as we had a lot of lawn equipment from the home we had just sold. During our walk through only days before we moved in we were told we wouldn't be able to use it and not only that, it was positioned in a way as to block the only window in one of the bedrooms and he refused to have it moved. At this point our escrow was due to close and there was no time to find another house. So with lack of fire escape safety (see pic) we were never able to occupy this room except for storage the whole time we rented. The house was delivered filthy. We had been told prior to move in that it would be professionally cleaned and on the day of move in, there was still greasy residue all over the microwave and dust bunnies hanging off of the shelving in the laundry room. Within the first week of us moving in, they broke into the home to retrieve the washer and dryer. The agreement had been to coordinate with us for the pick up, but they just came into our home without any notice or arrangements. We just discovered the washer and dryer missing one day. Needless to say this gave us the creeps really bad and permanently made us not feel safe. A few days later, when running one of the tubs, the water wouldn't shut off. We contacted Colin to have it fixed. All day long we were told the plumber would be there within the hour. The plumber never arrived until late in the evening. Not only did this ruin our day, but we also got a horrendous $330 water bill from it. The following month we had a $220 water bill. Turns out that there was a broken sprinkler coming on at 4am that we never knew about, running THREE TIMES for 7 minutes each EVERY DAY. Out of all this $550 charge we were only reimbursed $165. We also had trouble with their landscaper in getting the sprinkler fixed, and we had to attempt to fix it ourselves to try and stop the bleed with the water bills. There was a leak under the kitchen sink that I had reported during the initial walk through. They had said it was fixed, but it hadn't and water had been dripping the whole time. When Colin said a plumber was coming, I made arrangements to take time off from work to be there for him, and no plumber showed up. This took place at least 3 or 4 times before we ever got the problem fixed. We ended up doing some of the occasional minor repairs ourselves to avoid having to deal with this again. We are still waiting reimbursement for those items. Colin never forwarded notifications from the HOA to us and we had to rely on neighbors and Facebook groups to obtain essential information. He even had the nerve to ask ME for the gate code. This is something he should have been forwarding to us as we were not members of the HOA since we were renting. Finally, upon move out, he said he mailed out our return deposit. After a week of not getting it, he said it had been returned. Turns out he had sloppily scribbled the WRONG CITY NAME on the envelope. Probably in an effort to delay the payment to us. Do yourselves a favor and avoid this company.

I hope this review is not just seen as a complaint but a WARNING to anyone that is about to come in contact or do business with him. For the last 10 years there has been so many things that do not work and do not get fixed. Such as the dishwasher, air conditioning, heater etc. You can also expect him to duck your phone calls and when something broken or is getting fixed and when there is a leak you will go without running water for a few days at a time and pay the same amount of rent. Here are the worst/illegal experiences: A ruptured pipe in the kitchen which left me without kitchen access, running water in only 1 bathroom and an entire roon and bathroom out of commission for 4 months. Bedbugs that were not taken care of for 3 months which resulted in scars on my arm and body. Bedbugs are an owner responsibility. The last 4 years there has been a leak that has not been taken care of properly which resulted in MOLD that destroyed half of everything i owned in my closet. MOLD that i had to breathe in for 2 months or longer and when they FINALLY got smeone to look at it, left me to pay for a hotel room for a month that cost me over $2100 with no reimbursment.
