I have to love the interior of this place. It is so classy and they have a lot of great drinks and my favorite favorite favorite part is that they have absolutely beautiful dessert drinks, mango, strawberry, pure cookies, and cream, it is so nice to see that makes blending with coffee but what really did it for me was I had to have the jalapeño and cheese bagel heated up and a Doppio with with whipped cream, a.k.a. the dope O'Cain it was really comfortable to sit in. Everybody was totally cool. Laci and Sophia kept up a super friendly vibe. I don't think it's possible to have a bad experience when those two are working. I have to admit I will be coming back here to chill out on my break. They have outdoor seating in the very friendly and the bathrooms are super clean and do not require security lol this is a totally perfect place to chill and enjoy delicious pastries as well as some of the best dessert drinks I've had.

It's been a while since I have posted a review on my go to chain coffee shop. This is my go-to place for fancy teas and coffees....and an excellent place to go to in the summer for cool drinks. Today they had a tasting of ube and coconut- it was a very nice drink-refreshing and not overly sweet! What a treat! Today I venture out, with a new drink that had matcha, strawberry and more.....was yummy, although maybe it was a tad too sweet. Never less the drink served its purpose as it cooled me down on this very hot day! Today, I noticed that the store got new cups- check out my picture to see the new cup design. I am trying to figure out if I am getting more or less with the cup. Plus, they have a new stopper with a heart, how cute. As always, I appreciate the excellent customer service, even when the employees are busy.

I thought to give coffee bean another try since I used to love them. But I should've known better now that I just go to specialty coffee shops. The service was horrible! Ordered my drink. Just a simple iced americano. No cream no sugar, easy right? Well it's amazing when people that ordered after you with much more extravagant drinks end up receiving their drinks first. When I asked about my drink, they had not even started on it yet. I shouldn't have to ask about my drink for them to work on it. To top it all off they added so much water and barely any ice to my drink. I just know I will never be back to this place.

My now usual weekly stop here when working in Simi. Iced black tea and enjoy a little AC for a bit. Restrooms are clean and the staff are always quick and friendly.

We used to live close to a CBTL location and visited there fairly often. Then we moved, so that opportunity went away. We also used to visit the one in Thousand Oaks on Moorpark with the outdoor firepit, but that one is gone. I always recalled fondly the taste of the ice blended mocha cold drinks, so when we were in the area of this CBTL shop, I told Dear Hubby that was where I wanted to go after we had lunch nearby. The interior styling is familiar - the walls feature wooden shipping crate siding with stamped designs from exotic locales. Some of the global locations where the coffee beans or tea leaves hail from are featured in those designs. This particular store has minimal indoor seating; there are more tables outside. The cashier was very friendly and helpful, so that's a plus. They weren't too crowded on a Wednesday mid-afternoon, and my drink came out fairly quickly. The reason I won't give five stars for the visit is actually the drink itself. The ice blended mocha was too icy, or not blended quite enough. The ice chunks were large enough that they wouldn't feed up the straw very well. Even letting the whole drink sit for a while so the ice would start to melt didn't fully cure the situation. Not sure if the blender was getting ready to die / didn't have enough ice crushing power, or whether the barista didn't run it long enough? The taste was still there. They don't use coffee, so the powdered mixture dictates what you'll get for the flavor profile. There are limited options for decaf drinkers, but thankfully, chocolate is one of the choices. And it's a great flavor!

I came in for a little coffee pick me up and this drink was recommended by the sweetest supervisor, thank you for your recommendation! I'll be back tomorrow. This drink is so delicious.

Always A+ service at this location. Plenty of seating in the clean and spacious lobby and the food and drinks are flavorful and reasonably priced.

I had personally never been to a coffee bean location, and knew I needed to come and try this. My boyfriend and I both ended up ordering a medium cookies and cream frappe with whip cream. It was quite delicious! Better than Starbucks, if I say so myself. Staff was friendly and welcoming. And the location was clean and organized. I truly wish we had one of these back home .

We were craving coffee, searched for the closest coffee shop, and happened to stumble across Makenna Coffee. I remember absolutely falling in love with their coffee and thinking, "I cannot wait until we come back this way so I can get this again!" Unfortunately, I never ended up making it back... until today! We happened to be in the area for an appointment at the Jeep dealership, and when I realized Makenna Coffee was nearby, there was NO WAY I was leaving without stopping. This was only my second time here, and somehow it was just as good as I remembered. Taylor helped me and she was such a sweetheart! I couldn't remember what I had ordered the first time, so she helped me pick out two different drinks to try -- the Sandy Blonde and the Maui Latte. I ordered them half sweet, and they were still a little sweeter than I normally prefer, but honestly, they were amazing nonetheless. I'm usually a black coffee/Americano kind of girl, but every once in a while I get a serious sweet tooth and want something fun and indulgent -- and Makenna Coffee is PERFECT for that. Their coffee is so good, and there's just something about this little spot that I've loved ever since I accidentally discovered it. I only wish I lived closer because I would definitely be here way more often. If you're ever in this area, do yourself a favor and stop at Makenna Coffee. It's one of those little gems you're so happy you found.

Pretty much every time which is what pushed me to actually write a review. The food/coffee is way overpriced for what you get as well. BUT, upon checking the online ordering on their website, it is so much more clear that that was an optional add-on. Kind of felt like they were just upcharging me to upcharge idk... Ambiance was good. Quiet, clean and the plants all around are a great touch. Don't get me wrong, the coffee and food are great, especially the speciality drink. Since I work long hours during the week and usually am not up for jumping right up on the weekends, that is cool with me! DH will go over and pick out fresh pastries for us for breakfast/brunch. He'll usually select one savory item and one sweet treat. Often, their Japanese-style egg salad tucked inside a pastry is so perfect for me. The actual dough is like a marriage between a bagel and a croissant. It's lighter than a bagel, but it's flavorful and tender like a croissant, but not flaky. The egg salad filling is just right for my tastebuds, and it provides protein in a fancy, delicious fashion. Today there was a hint of savory garlic on the pastry, and that added a nice flavor accent. Today's sweet pastry was an open-faced tart filled with a smooth, light chocolate base, topped with creamy custard, and then sliced pears on top. Mmm. I like the choice of pears offering a hint of the autumn season ahead. The last time we had out of town guests staying with us, we took my them to Le Herisson one morning. They fell in love with the food and the sweet, simple ambiance. The next morning, my sister-in-law got up early and went back over, bringing back a box of pastries for everyone to share. That definitely tells the story of how much everyone enjoyed the food offerings. It's a special treat to have a quality bakery like this in Simi. We prefer it to another well-regarded bakery on the west end of town, which is a different style and more expensive.
