Best place for burgers on the coast! It's a little pricey but totally worth it. Tourists and locals love this place.

We stopped by for a couple of ice cream cones and a chili dog (sometimes you just have a craving, you know), and were impressed. It's kind of a weird setup - you walk in the door, and then order at a window. I guess on the rainy coast, it makes sense! We ended up getting a chili dog (good sized, we shared) and onion rings (yum), and skipped the cones because they only have soft serve. The really nice lady at the window referred us to Scoopers in downtown Long Beach for hard-serve. The prices were great, and the menu was what you'd expect. My family and I have been enjoying Corral burgers and shakes for many years. While placing a take-out order this evening I asked about any specials thinking more about their wide shake selection when the counter lady began telling me about their Thursday rib special. When I asked about shake specials I was told they're all special and challenged me to 'take my pick". Not even bothering to look at the board, and knowing all too well that their chocolate-cherry malt to be over-the-top crazy good, my first, and immediate thought was my most favorite, combination being chocolate-huckleberry malt and SHAZAM! No problem. OK then... I ordered. So here I sit an hour later, delightfully full from my favorite burger but, most importantly, consumed ONE OF THE BEST MALTS I'VE EVER HAD. Bottom Line: Their burgers, fries, and shakes are good. That said, their prices are relatively expensive ($6 for a plain burger?), service is inefficient, and there's no seating inside - it isn't a drive in, it's a parking lot surrounding a shed with an enclosed ordering area. Waiting inside for a half hour on their bench can get tedious, so call in your order ahead of time- the Corral Drive In perversely prides itself on its slow service. read more

Today was the first time I checked out the Corral after many years of visits to Long Beach, about 20 years to be exact. I had a cheese burger and tots. My husband had a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. We shared a pumpkin pie milkshake. I liked everything about the place, the laid back old classic vibe. They had the cleanest Sani-potty I've ever been in, in the back far out of sight by the way. The burgers we really good, Maybe a level up on Frugals in Port Angeles. The whole experience dropped a star for me, however when I found a short curly head hair on my tomato in my burger on the first bite. Now I always seem to find hair in my food at even fancier places (ie. locally the Depot), so for some reason it's starting to become a trend when I eat out. Anyways, the tots and onion rings were really crispy, not the best I've had, but pretty tasty. Would I eat here again? Yeah maybe if I ever get the urge to find a hair in my burger. read more

Was out for a drive with my fiance and I decided I wanted a burger. Did a quick yelp while at the Cape of Disappointment and boy am i glad I did. The burger was amazing. I was staying down in Long Beach for a few days after a really rough week of work at a hotel that's very close by to the corral. I've stayed at the hotel many times but only went to the corral recently. I got a something simple a quarter pounder with cheese and bacon. I got onion rings as the side. So first off the inside area where you order is incredibly small and you wait outside by a drive in window that you go to pick up you're order at. The building itself is rather unremarkable. But you don't wait for long and then your food is ready given to you in box with some diner paper under the burger. The box is hot and so is everything else. So when I got back to the hotel I sat down and ate immediately. The onion rings were crispy and warm the onion itself was soft but not soggy. They tasted almost like onion rings that you would get at a really good pub or an old school diner that my grandparents would have gone to. Then there was the burger itself . The cheese was incredible perfectly melted. It was melted but still had body and was regular cheddar not that American plastic cheese garbage. The buns were perfectly sized for the burger and were thick enough to get a good hand on but not so thick I couldn't eat without squeezing it. The lettuce was fine. I mean it was lettuce and the pickles were fine. The bacon was like the onion rings crispy and warm. They weren't too fatty or salty infact they weren't fatty at all dude to the cheese and the fatty ness of the patty which I will get to it wasn't needed it added a great smoky flavor. Then there was the patty densely packed ground beef that was fatty enough to be smooth but so much so that it drips grease. It tasted incredible and you could tell it was made by hand not a press the patty wasn't perfectly flat and round like a disc it was pressed and it was uneven which made it better in my eyes. Give this place a try if you're ever in the area and want a burger it's a great stop it's not too much cost wise and it tastes great. read more

Outdoor slightly covered patio dining allowed us to eat delicious burgers and bring our dogs who calmly sat at our feet or under the table and watched. Their tator tots were particularly good with an almost potato chip like flavor. Large variety of milkshakes too. A bit of a wait to make the food but that's because they cook it to order. More on the service than the food it self which was generous and testy. We ordered food at 7:45. We wait over 40 to receive our food. This would have been more palatable if we were told the wait would be long. As the cell service is bad, we couldn't tell the others at the house why we were late. read more

Our sodas tasted like chemicals from who know where, definitely wasn't coke. The burgers were horrible, bacon old and nasty. The meat like Jerky. Just horrible. 40.00 for 3 burgers and fries. What a waste of our time and money. Please clean that grill and serve bacon that is fresh. And taste your coke once in a while. Maybe it was all the melted ice, cause there was no ice. read more

In years past, the Corral would've gotten 4 or 5 stars - they used to be hands down the best burger around for as long as I can remember. But I've been awful sad the past two times I've been there - I'm not sure what happened with their meat patties, but they're not as good as I remember, which is too bad because the rest of the burger is as delish as ever. I even thought maybe some ketchup could save the taste, but in the end I had to take the patty out and eat the rest. Too bad :(. But their shakes and tots are still pretty yummy, so I'll just go there for those if I get the craving. read more

One for my favorite places to eat at the beach. I've always had super friendly service. It gets really busy, epically during the summer, but it's never too long of a wait to get your food. They have some of the best burgers ever!! And I grew up with Top Burger in Camas. And their burgers are right up there in tastiness!! The burgers are big and tasty. We went with the regular size and it filled hubby up! Fresh beef and bacon on the burgers, and not thin strip either. Fries aren't overly salty (minimal salt) and for those who crave it, they do give you a packet to add as much as you wish. Disappointed. I usually really enjoy drive-in style burger joints, but this did not deliver in the least. They only have 2 choices of cheese, yellow or white American, it would be nice to have options that resemble reality. So I just ordered a bacon burger, which was "topped" with a minute smattering of mustard, ketchup and sweet relish on the top bun, small amount of bacon, then a beef patty that was split in half part way. The bottom bun was dressed with a lot of mayonnaise with more sweet relish, 3 dill pickle slices, chopped onions mixed with chopped lettuce, which made it very difficult to remove the onions. (I get migraines from raw onions & don't make a big deal about ordering them to be removed, usually because they are whole rings, and easily removed), and 1 small tomato slice. I scraped the lettuce layer off, removed the dill pickles to scrape off the clashing sweet relish and still couldn't eat it. I ended up just eating the broken up burger patty & the bacon without the bun. My husband couldn't eat his burger normally, because the buns were so soggy from the amount of mayonnaise, ended up eating it without the bun as well. The over-priced, almost $5.00 "large" milkshake was in a 16 oz cup. The only worthwhile part of the order were the tots, but still over-priced!! Not going to waste my money again!! read more
