We really enjoyed our meal at Corralito last night. It was our first time there, so we started with the sampler appetizer, and the empanadas were especially delicious, the short ribs OK, the mushrooms a little over-seasoned, and the quesadillas very good. The Caesar salad was also very nice, just the right amount of dressing, cheese, and croutons and nice crisp romaine. For entrees all three of our party ordered steaks. They all arrived in good time and each one was perfectly cooked yet still sizzling. My T-Bone was picturesque and had enough fat but not too much. My wife's filet was a generous 10 oz with a nice crust and a good flavor. Our guest's ribeye looked great and I know she enjoyed it. The sides were also very good, my potato was just how I like it, my wife's mixed veggies were maybe a little over seasoned but they weren't mushy. We shared two desserts, a chocolate cake and a tres leches cake, they were pretty good but we couldn't finish them, they were so big. I did a double-take when I saw how inexpensive they were! I've eaten at all the steakhouses in town, including several that charge a lot more, and I have served a lot of steaks myself. No one in Lubbock is cooking a better steak than Corralito. The service was good, prompt and friendly, and the decor is pleasant, classic steakhouse with a bit more light. And the value is excellent, enough for me to give them an extra star. I'm glad this place is here and I look forward to another visit soon. read more

First experience here was so bad we left without getting our food. We only came back cause of a birthday dinner that was held here. Complementary chips were overly salty. 2 types of salsa, green salsa lacked flavor, the darker salsa had a great smokey flavor however, was hard to enjoy due to it also being overly salty as well. My 12oz flat sirloin steak with grilled veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, and yellow squash) and loaded baked potato (butter, cheese, bacon bits) was good. No complaints there. It came with a side salad. From the salad choices I was given, I picked the corralito salad. I was told there was a 'slight up charge' for this salad. When I got my ticket, the 'slight up charge' was $7!! For $3 more, I could have ordered the bigger version of this salad instead of this small side salad. I also ordered Mac and cheese, which is considered a premium side, for $7. I was dumbfounded when it arrived. I was literally served KRAFT Mac & Cheese! Like, what? At a steakhouse? That is a crime in itself! I quickly returned that! The other guest ordered the chicken breast and stated it was overcooked which caused it to be dry. A few guest ordered the Mexican tenderloin tacos. The tortillas were small street taco size, the meat was tough and chewy. The refried beans were greasy and lacked flavor. It seemed like everyone had some issue with the food they ordered. The best part of this experience was our waitress! Top notch service. She was so friendly, prompt, and attentive. I believe her name was Sasha! Give her a raise! We were a table of 12 and she did not disappoint!! We would be back? No! The food is not worth the price points, especially for a steakhouse! Our service crew JQ is amazing. She's attentive and welcoming. The place is also classy and peaceful. The only thing I didn't like is the food. Ordered a $23 tacos which came out as tiny chopped beef and tiny tortillas with nothing else. They do tell you can upgrade to a Mexican style for $4 which I didn't thought I'd need because isn't tacos a Mexican food?... I had indigestion for days so no, we're not coming back here. We went to Corralito based on a recommendation from some friends in El Paso. Gotta say, it did not disappoint! Wait time for two was about 20-30 minutes on a Saturday night. Not terrible, but wish there was a way to make reservations. Did not really want to sit in the bar area, as all the walls are covered with large tvs playing sports. Would have preferred to be in the regular dining area. Not sure why we were taken there, but not that big of a deal. Server was friendly and attentive, and knew the menu well. We decided not to do steaks this time, as they start at $20 and go way up from there. I ordered the sirloin enchiladas, and my wife had the salmon. Both were very good! Lots of flavor, and the portion sizes were good. Had both green and red sauces on my enchiladas (Christmas style, half/half) and I have to say that the green sauce was by far my favorite. if there was a negative option I would have chosen that. We went the here when it first opened and were impressed however, tonight was the worst service and food I have ever encountered. we waited over 30 minutes for our food and mind you they only had maybe 20 tables full in the entire place. my food had to be sent back and I reorder something else. they gracefully took off the first item but that was all. then they took another 20 minutes to prepare the replacement meal. had to wait over and over for drink refills. Then the check comes and beware they charge a surcharge for payments with a card. You will not stay in business this I am sure of. read more

WORST experience, wouldn't recommend! Upon arrival we sat at the table for 20 minutes before receiving any form of acknowledgement from our waiter, mind you it wasn't busy by any means. After taking the appetizer and drink order it took another 15 minutes to come out (note: these drinks weren't anything special); this was also after we located a manager and informed him about the issue. Food took at least another 30 minutes to come out, (who knows how long it was sitting there because it came out cold and was only brought to us whenever a manager took charge). In addition one of the plates was ordered with a lobster tail that arrived with a MAJOR spoiled seafood odor, his words were "I'm glad somebody said something, it's always served like this". After we finished our meals we were encouraged to purchase a round of shots to offset the experience. It was ridiculously expensive for what you're getting, one plate and drink was $85!! Service: We were told it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait, but we ended up waiting much longer than that. Once we got to our table the service was much better. Our server Cody was attentive and answered our questions. The food did come out quickly so that was good too. Ambiance: For a Sunday lunchtime, the ambiance okay. Food: The reason we had to rate Corallito's 2 stars was because the food and the value of the food. We ordered the Queso Fundido as an appetizer. It came with 4 corn tortillas. Although the queso fundido might be good, I wouldn't recommend adding the sausage. It tasted like cheap sausage. We ordered sirloin enchiladas and the shrimp quesadillas. You only got four small corn quesadillas, with two pieces of lettuce and a slice of tomato. For $17, I would not recommend this plate. It would've been better to just get a second plate of Queso fundido with shrimp. My husband got the sirloin enchiladas, which were really cheese roll ups with some sirloin on top. All in all the food was just average and not worth the price. I think that they should also add descriptions to the menu so you know what you're getting. Price: We paid $56 (they add 3% to the bill for paying with card - they don't tell you, it's on the receipt when you finish your meal), all in all I would not recommend this restaurant as the most important part of a restaurant for us is the food, and the food did not equal the value we paid for the meal. read more

We were looking for steak before a movie today and settled on Corralito Steak House, with the Google reviews much better than Yelp's. If you're looking for a good variety of food - mostly steaks with a Mexican flair - this place might tickle your fancy. We had a New York Strip steak and a couple orders of their salmon and veggies lunch special. Everything was excellent - cooked to order and very tasty. This was my first visit and it did not disappoint. Service was a little spotty but I believe will improve in time and with some additional training. We didn't know we would be getting chips and salsa or I might not have ordered the melted cheese, but it was delicious! I ordered the Arrachera Steak and my companion had shrimp. Both were perfectly prepared. The steak was a new cut to me and I will definitely order again. They cancelled my reservation an hour before it was due with some excuse about how they don't know how to use computers. Avoid.

First, the sour attitude hostess was pretty unfriendly, seemed put out to seat us. My husband received a draft beer with salt and lime on the rim. The mushrooms were heavily over salted, we didn't receive our salad and lastly the steaks tasted very over chemically tenderized. Even the filet mignon! Not a good experience. This used to be the old Cattlemen Steakhouse. I went in expecting a good salad and steak. The salad was OK, however, they brought out the house salad, as the salad bar has been replaced by an overpriced wine storage container. I ordered a T-bone steak and for the price I paid was not worth the amount of steak I received. The steak was only half inch thick and overcooked when I ordered medium rare. The service was good. The floor was very slick, but I believe it's because they just mopped the floor. I can't speak for the restroom as I did no visit it. Their ribeye steak was so juicy and flavorful that I didn't even miss steak sauce like I usually do! The appetizer of melted cheese was just alright and I wouldn't exactly recommend it. But the churros with Nutella sauce were amazing so those were the cherry on top of a good meal! I have eaten at Corralito Steak House twice. Each time, both the food and the service were excellent! The first time I went for lunch and had the Tampicana. The steak was tender deliciously seasoned and wonderful. The enchilada and roasted poblano that came with it were also fabulous. It was also an excellent value (steak, refried beans, guacamole, roasted poblano, and an enchilada all for $11.99!) The second time I went for dinner and ordered the Baja fish tacos. They were crispy spicy, and absolutely delicious. the chips and sauces they serve when you are seated are also delicious. This place is a gem! read more

We arrived at 8:00 pm on a Thursday evening. It was NOT busy. We were asked if we would sit in the bar, because it was quieter. The bar area was freezing. The waitress was a little slow coming to our table. We ordered drinks. She brought out chips and salsa and water to the table and we placed our order. There was a placard on the table pointing out the Ladies Night Half Price drinks on Thursday evenings. It took quite a while for the drinks to get to the table (and we were sitting in the bar)! Our salads FINALLY came out about 5 minutes before our food, which led us to believe the waitress had forgotten the salads. The steaks were mediocre and the baked potatoes were warm, but NOT hot. The waitress never came back to the table to ask if we needed anything , including refills on our waters. When she FINALLY brought our check she had charged us full price for our drinks. She took the check and told us she would check on it. When she finally brought the check back she informed us the drinks we had ordered, which were $ 9.99 each were not included on the 1/2 price drinks, even though no mention of it was noted on the menu. She DID give us the half price for the drinks, even though she said they weren't obligated to do so. The real kicker was the initial bill was over $ 80.00, which was charged to my credit card. Then the revised bill was $ 60.00 +. We were told the first bill of $ 80.00 would be credited back to the card in 2-3 days. The final/corrected bill of $ 60.00 was also charged to my card. Trust me when I say that $ 150.00 for that meal was absurd! We would NOT recommend this restaurant! read more
