    Wings, Sandwiches, Fries Menu
    Britt C.

Updated Menu (March 2019) I got the pork chop sandwich. Fries are a little soggy, and they only give you 1 price of bread. In my opinion, you should get 2 since it's considered a sandwich. I requested more bread and she gave me another slice. Pork chop was seasoned good. I'm guessing you have to request ketchup, hot sauce and mustard but I will use what I have at home. The prices are higher than what's on their site so I did upload the updated menu prices.

Polish sausage combo with cheese fries

Great little local neighborhood spot that serves a variety of food from a local guy gone good. The owner is a graduate of the high school I teach at, and I'm proud that he stayed in his community to open his business. His sauce (I guess it's a BBQ sauce he made his own) is delicious and really makes his food stand out. My favorites are the polish sausage combo and the loaded beefy fries. He has other healthier items on the menu, but when I stop here, healthy food isn't on my mind! There's also a second location in Pleasant Grove and a food truck that frequents the Social Security building. Make sure you stop by either location for some delicious food and great service!

Soggy fries, salty lemon pepper wings and watered down "hot lava" wings/
    DaShay M.

The office decided to order from here. The food truck wasn't too far away, so since the we're willing to have someone deliver to our office from the truck we figured we'd give it a try. The food took almost 2 hours to come, it was cold and the order was completely incorrect. The hot lava sauce was like watered down Texas Pete Hot Sauce. I don't know what exactly happened on this food truck but we were NOT impressed!!

I've tried almost everything on the menu....so far so good!!! My favorite are the steak fries and the 2nd favorite is the polish sausage! They usually are busy and crowded at this location but worth the wait! Need to be a bit bigger tho for eating in.....but that's nothing the food is great!!!!

First off, the disclaimer. ONLY come here if you have time to kill. I don't mean that as an insult in anyway, but it took almost forty five minutes to get our food. The atmosphere is that you were invited into someone's house and they are cooking fresh food from scratch, and if you are patient, that is what you will enjoy. The staff was very friendly, made sure we were taken care of, and ALL said goodbye when we left. Now, then, onto the food. I wanted the traditional foods I can't get tasty anywhere else, and my plate was fried catfish, seasoned rice, cabbage, corn bread, and sweet tea. I am not a fan of super sweet things, so I was not fond of the tea. That is most likely my personal taste, and not a knock on their tea by any means. Catfish was hot, well-seasoned, and crispily battered. My wife (Southeast Asian), who cooks cabbage a lot and deliciously (love you babe!), has never made cabbage like this. It was some of the best cabbage I have ever had, and I did not know a side dish like cabbage could taste that good. The cornbread did not need butter, and I was munching on it on my way out the door. So, DEFINITELY eat here. Just be warned, this is where you go to take your time and enjoy the meal. If in a hurry, maybe come back a different day.

It's kind of hard to tell what all the food options are, so I had to ask what some stuff was. I managed to get a meat and 2 instead of a meat and 5! There were quite a few veggie options that looked amazingly delicious! I do not recommend coming here hungry or hangry. Ok, sooo I love meat loaf so naturally that's what I got. I also got collards and cornbread dressing & yes they had cranberry sauce. Everything was good tasting. The meatloaf was a little sweet to my taste so I probably wouldn't order it again. The veggies were not over seasoned or overcooked. I will definitely comeback here bc there is still just so much I wanna try. The staff is nice and took care of the crowd. I even witnessed them give a person in need food, as they were about to dig in the restaurant's garbage can outside for scraps. Made me count my blessings.. all of them! There is street parking only. I didn't have any issues parking on a Sunday afternoon. The inside of this restaurant is not big but I was comfortable dining in.

Only about 3 people at a time can hold inside before it's starts getting crowded. It stay pretty busy. Options are 1 meat with two sides or 2 meats with three sides combination. A la cart is available as well. They have ice tea or lemonade drinks in a cup that they also serve you. Lemonade was good. There's a very small counter to pay after you order. Fry chicken is tasty with perfect crisp. Collard greens were seasoned well and perfect texture. Yams (my favorite) was perfect - flavorful, not too sweet and firm but not hard. Both of us thought the Black eyed peas looked really good but taste bland. I would have preferred it without the Okra. I didn't see that when I ordered. One in our group commented the meat loaf was good. The dressing was really good too - well seasoned and tasty. After paying there's a dining area for self seating. It serves the purpose to sit and eat but definitely could use sprucing up along with the restrooms. Please seriously consider! It would make the experience much more pleasant to enjoy their delicious food. I took off two stars for that reason and yes it's that unpleasant as the tables/chairs are also too clustered together. The chairs don't fit around the table properly. Overall good southern food at a reasonable price and recommended. Skip dining in if you don't have too. Just my two cents.

On to the 3rd chicken wing place!…read more When I was looking for a place to fix my buffalo chicken wings craving, since previous places have disappointed me, I had high hopes for A-Train Station. This is a food truck that also offers delivery. VERY VERY disappointed. First off, the menu does not describe it, but most of the wings options come with fries. Okay, cool, the fries were crinkle cut and crispy. When I opened the container to chow down, I was so let down I wanted to cry (not really cry like tears though...well, maybe the food heart in me did). The wings are TINY TINY TINY TINY. Itty itty itty bitty. Think the length and the width of a pinkie finger. I have small hands (I need to buy child-sized gloves for winter wear and kid's sized shoes) and as you can see from the picture, they are smaller than a normal sized fork. What was more, I paid extra for "extra saucy wings." There was barely any sauce coating one side let alone being extra saucy! What was more, they were soggy and the minimal meat that was on the bone was a poor and tough quality. Thus, 1/5 for size, 1/5 for crispiness 1/5 for meat quality, 1/5 for sauce. RUN AWAAAY! BOOO HISSSSS THE WINGS HERE!!! Not worth the money. And the hot sauce? NOT SPICY. I've tasted ketchup that is more spicy!

It was an hour before closing so my friend and I decided to eat inside. The lady at the counter was pleasant as she took our orders. I ordered the egg roll combo, which was the special of the day. My friend ordered the Philly with fries. My egg rolls looked as if they had been reheated. They did throw in a soul food egg roll I guess for us to try. All of them were extra....crunchy, and I had to break the end parts off because they were dry and overcooked. I don't remember my friend having anything either way to say about his food. There was no option for the drink...they just handed us some green punch in a cup. The ice machine wasn't working and the lady had to go across the street for ice. The ice in our punch had already melted. There was both inside and outside seating. Overall, I think I will stick to the food truck when it's on my side of town. I wasn't really happy with my food but I know they offer better options. One thing to note....there was a kid in the place that was watching something on the tv (YouTube, maybe?) that, in my opinion was inappropriate due to the subject matter and profanity. The guy in the back was aware of this, shook his head, but did not tell the boy to turn it. This overall left a not so good impression. Yeah...I'll definitely be sticking to the food truck for my A-Train fix.

We arrived fairly early, shortly after opening, but the place was already bustling and the hot bar was full of yummy-looking and smelling food. It has a pleasant, sort of old-timey feel, which makes sense given it's been open since the 70s. This is a "Greek and three," fairly common in Bham, so they offer country cooking favorites like fried chicken in addition to Greek foods like souvlaki. You order as you move through the line in front of the hot bar. The food is protected from guests by glass so it doesn't feel as icky as a buffet does (to me, at least). The folks working the hot bar were pleasant and working diligently. There was one waitress who was suuuuper bossy and a little short with me (she really didn't want me to stand still and look at a paper menu, apparently), but she eventually warmed to us after my dad chatted her up while she was getting our drinks. I ordered fried chicken with yams and fried okra. My mom also got fried chicken, hers with mashed potatoes and cabbage. My dad tried the baked Greek chicken with green beans and macaroni and cheese. I snagged a roll and a sweet tea to drink. The tea was refreshing and not overly sweet. The food was overwhelmingly quite solid. My fried chicken breast wasn't ready when I ordered it so I had to wait a while for it to be prepared, but on the bright side it arrived piping hot and super crispy. It was great fried chicken, clearly brined and flavorful throughout, not just on the crunchy batter. The yams were nicely spiced and not overly soft. The fried okra was a delight as well, crispy and plentiful. The roll was average, but nbd. My parents were also quite happy with their meals. My mom RAVED about the cabbage and ate all her mashed potatoes and gravy. The macaroni and cheese was outstanding (I wish I'd gotten three sides and it been my third). The Greek chicken was succulent and light. The only so-so item was the green beans, and even those were decent. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Birmingham! One of the better meat and twos/threes I've had in a while.
