I have only been to this Full Moon location three times, but each visit has been a great experience! The first time, I ordered the turkey plate with the side of the day, sweet potato casserole. The portion size was incredible. There was enough turkey for two meals, and it was so tender and flavorful. The sweet potato casserole was delicious as well. On another visit, I tried the chopped BBQ plate. Once again, the portion was generous enough for two meals. Everything was fresh, satisfying, and full of flavor. A special shoutout goes to Linda, who was working the drive thru. From the moment she greeted me through the speaker, she was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely pleasant. Some people simply have a gift for making others feel welcome, and Linda is one of them. Her positive attitude added so much to the experience. Someone in another review remarked that this reminded them of "Fast Food BBQ"... and in some ways they are right. Its is pretty fast. Service is quick.... Order - Sit Down - Your food arrives within a few minutes. But the big difference (IMHO) is the quality of the food vs CFF (Common Fast Food). Good BBQ takes a bit more time than simply slapping a burger on the grill or dropping a chunk 'a' chicken in the fryer. Our better than CFF dine-in consisted of: Deviled eggs: these reminded me of grandma's (but hers were just a little better - (likely the extra love she put in them.) Brisket: tender yumminess, cut in appropriate size slices. Pulled Pork: a tad dry but very flavorful - especially when topped with the amazing Chow-Chow. The latter (relish) was spicy, sharply acidic, and just dang good! Riblets: BIG disappointment - tough as nails! I have eaten a lot of BBQ and a lot of sides at a lot of restaurants in a lot of states, and I still say Full Moon is my favorite. Why, you may ask? First and foremost, their vinegar cole slaw. I could eat a bowl of it. It's that good!! Their pork is also really tender. I prefer it sliced with a large heaping of red sauce. The sauce adds so much with its sweet, tangy flavor. Also, the beans are my really good with their full, rich flavor. If you have a sweet tooth, don't miss out on their half-moon cookies. They are delicious, a chocolate chip cookie half dipped in chocolate! If you have a large group and want to eat in, they have several tables and large booths that will seat six. I normally enjoy Full Moon Bar-B-Que and think their open face sandwich is usually very good, but this visit was disappointing. About 90% of the meat we were served was fat and gristle, which made it nearly inedible. The ambience was also uncomfortable because they had Fox News playing on the TVs -- not everyone wants to watch political coverage while trying to enjoy a meal. Kudos to the manager for kindly changing the channel when I requested it, but honestly, it would be better if the restaurant just stuck with sports or something neutral to begin with. read more

Greeted with a friendly staff. Restaurant was clean and neat. Everywhere you turn you can see the love of Alabama college sports. Staff was very helpful with any questions my family had about the menu and b their own personal recommendations. I decided on the classic rib plate with my 2 sides being Mac and cheese and greens. You get 4 generous sized ribs dressed in BBQ sauce. The Mac and cheese was ok. Seemed like they boiled noodles and put some cheese sauce on top. Could have been a little more seasoned. I ate at full moon barbecue yesterday. The food was excellent, but I got to admit the sweet tea was so sweet. I put in my fridge raider this morning. I got up thinking the ice for the mailed it and made the sweetness go away not happening so I brought it to work with me added more ice, thinking it would water down the rest of the day make it taste not as sweet, but I think they added about 10 bags of sugar. I frequent this place for the 2 meat and 2 vegetable combo. Last night I went through the drive through and ordered a chopped pork sandwich. It was horrible. Lots of meat on the sandwich but it wasn't chewable. The pork was hard and old plus dry. After several unsuccessful bites I gave up. Money gone down the drain and I'm still hungry. Came by this location for Sunday dinner with my folks. The drive thru line was wrapped around but we are inside which wasn't over overcrowded. I saw a stack of great looking ribs walk by me as they headed to a table and I was sold... I decided to get the rib plate, 4 bones. I chose greens and baked beans as my sides. I was a bit disappointed because my ribs were pretty tiny. The baked beans were thick but still tasty and I enjoyed the greens. My G-ma loves the moon dogs. It's a hot dog with chow chow and BBQ sauce. Today she said they overloaded it with too much topping. Overall our party of 4 was fairly pleasedb with our meal. We agreed that although the food was ok, it really didn't taste like Full Moon... not even the sauce. But it is likely that we'll be back. I ordered the 1/4 white meat chicken with fried green tomatoes and french fries on the side. The fries were the thick cut kind that I like, but it was soggy by the time I was able to eat it. It's probably best to order fries when you're dining there. The fried green tomatoes were heavenly as usual! My chicken was a little smaller than I remember so that was a slight upset. The ranch dressing and bread were amazing! Best ranch ever! They also now charge a 3% fee for packaging and utensils. I went to get food at around 3 pm on a weekday and it was not super busy at all! The restaurant is decorated very typically for a BBQ place, with sports memorabilia and a darker interior. The staff was friendly and efficient. don't eat pork so I ordered the barbecue chicken sandwich with fries. The meal was reasonably priced and it did not take very long to be prepared (tops 8 to 10 minutes). The sandwich was a tad bit dry so I had to add a little more BBQ sauce, but I understand that they are most known for their pork BBQ. My friend who got the brisket and said it was very good. Full Moon is one of my favorite barbeque spots. The staff is always super friendly, and the food is always consistent. My favorite menu item to get is their smoked wings tossed in buffalo sauce. Those are truly the best smoked wings I have ever had. That is what I always recommend when I tell someone about them. Another one of my favorites is their carrot cake. Every time we come here the food is always good. My daughter loves the kids drumstick meal which consists of 2 drumsticks a side and a cookie. The past couple of times I've gotten the ribs here they were very tender. The BBQ sauce is amazing! I always have to ask for extra. Since the drive they is only open right now, the wait is not that long. When the drive thru gets backed up someone comes out any takes your order. 5/22/20 Drove past this place and noticed a huge wrap around line in the drive thru. Common sense told me, this place had to be amazing to draw such traffic. So I put in a take out order to avoid such line. I ordered a rack of BBQ ribs, collard greens and fried green tomatoes as my sides, and also a side salad. When I say, the food was phenomenal, I mean, IT WAS SO DAMN DELICIOUS, I had BBQ sauce all over my face. I was in fat kid heaven eating this food. The BBQ was so tender and falling off the bone. The fact that they give you a large container for sauce was a nice surprise. They provide you with so much sauce for everything! I love that! Many restaurants have become selfish on their sauces like McDonald's but that's not a real restaurant. Anyway, the food is so damn good, you can't go wrong here, so go enjoy some real southern soul food. I wish I lived closer, I'd be getting this food more often. I have been a little disappointed lately. This is generally and go to lunch spot for me but the past few times it has not been the best. I've recently been getting salads with chicken on them, and every time I do that I always have chicken bones in my salad. Today I almost choked on one. Some of the chicken was also a little pink. The lettuce was very fresh, and I like the croutons but finding multiple chicken bones in one salad I believe is unacceptable. I'm a huge full moon fan and this location did not disappoint! I had a pulled chicken sandwich with sweet BBQ sauce and baked beans - both delicious! My friend got the smoked wings and said they were really good as well. I can also vouch for the potato salad, chocolate silk pie, Mac and cheese (RIP to my previous dairy inclusive life) and the SWEET TEA! That, however was lost on her. She barely spoke, never made eye contact, and threw BBQ at a little lady in front of me who asked for extra sauce.
