Someone in another review remarked that this reminded them of "Fast Food BBQ"... and in some ways they are right. Its is pretty fast. Service is quick.... Order - Sit Down - Your food arrives within a few minutes. But the big difference (IMHO) is the quality of the food vs CFF (Common Fast Food). Good BBQ takes a bit more time than simply slapping a burger on the grill or dropping a chunk 'a' chicken in the fryer. Our better than CFF dine-in consisted of: Deviled eggs: these reminded me of grandma's (but hers were just a little better - (likely the extra love she put in them.) Brisket: tender yumminess, cut in appropriate size slices. Pulled Pork: a tad dry but very flavorful - especially when topped with the amazing Chow-Chow. The latter (relish) was spicy, sharply acidic, and just dang good! Riblets: BIG disappointment - tough as nails! Vinegar-based cole slaw - excellent (my wife's favorite) Fried Green Tomatoes - fine, nothing exceptional Ranch (style) Fries - crispy on outside and tender inside Lots more on menu yet to try ... so Full Moon is on our "return" bucket list.

I have eaten a lot of BBQ and a lot of sides at a lot of restaurants in a lot of states, and I still say Full Moon is my favorite. Why, you may ask? First and foremost, their vinegar cole slaw. I could eat a bowl of it. It's that good!! Their pork is also really tender. I prefer it sliced with a large heaping of red sauce. The sauce adds so much with its sweet, tangy flavor. Also, the beans are my really good with their full, rich flavor. If you have a sweet tooth, don't miss out on their half-moon cookies. They are delicious, a chocolate chip cookie half dipped in chocolate! If you have a large group and want to eat in, they have several tables and large booths that will seat six. If you want to take it to go, there is a drive-through.

Was coming down to Birmingham, AL for family reunion and asked a god friend from the area for some good recommendations to eat. Full Moon BBQ was highly recommended and I'm so glad it was. Greeted with a friendly staff. Restaurant was clean and neat. Everywhere you turn you can see the love of Alabama college sports. Staff was very helpful with any questions my family had about the menu and b their own personal recommendations. I decided on the classic rib plate with my 2 sides being Mac and cheese and greens. You get 4 generous sized ribs dressed in BBQ sauce. The Mac and cheese was ok. Seemed like they boiled noodles and put some cheese sauce on top. Could have been a little more seasoned. Greens were pretty good. Other family members enjoyed their food as well. This will be a stop for me anytime I come to Alabama.

Deviled eggs second to ...No One! Sorry I didn't get a better picture of my food, but I ate it all, every bit. It's all inside me now and I'm going to use it to great purpose. Thank you pigs, and thank you farmers and thank you Full Moon for your excellent preparation, you never disappoint. From your delicious chow chow, to your pickles to your toasted buns, it is all terrific !

I love the decor and vibe when I first walk into Full Moon restaurant! A couple of folks suggested I try the barbecue at Full Moon when visiting Birmingham. I was excited when I walked and smelled the barbecue and felt the warm southern vibes. My barbecue chicken was very good and the collard greens and baked beans were perfect! I got a lot of food for my money and love that part! I'm coming back!!

Came by this location for Sunday dinner with my folks. The drive thru line was wrapped around but we are inside which wasn't over overcrowded. I saw a stack of great looking ribs walk by me as they headed to a table and I was sold... I decided to get the rib plate, 4 bones. I chose greens and baked beans as my sides. I was a bit disappointed because my ribs were pretty tiny. The baked beans were thick but still tasty and I enjoyed the greens. My G-ma loves the moon dogs. It's a hot dog with chow chow and BBQ sauce. Today she said they overloaded it with too much topping. Overall our party of 4 was fairly pleasedb with our meal. We agreed that although the food was ok, it really didn't taste like Full Moon... not even the sauce. But it is likely that we'll be back. This is still a great location with many yummy options.

Now this was good BBQ! Just got a sandwich here for lunch on the way to the airport but it was yummy. Loved the sweet tomato sauce. I did get it without the chow chow bc I'm not a fan. Chock full of tender meat on a nice toasted roll. My husband had the Turkey and liked that a lot as well. We split the fries and they were huge steak fries but very tasty. And they had some good country deserts that were yummy as well. We were very intrigued by their claim that they could cater for up to 10,000! Now that's a party!

I'm very unsatisfied for my plate order. I got 2 meat combo and 2 side of Vegs. The ribs is dry and very small. The bbq chicken is kinda old breast bbq . I order greens , I'm very unsatisfied too it's very tart. And sours. . I order coconut pie. Still not best pie . My over all rate honestly is zero. Never coming back in this place.

These are my favorite kind of places in the world. From the moment I walked up and saw the big piles of wood outside I knew I was probably going to like this place. We had an amazing meal here. Every single bite was good. I ate myself damn near sick! I cannot wait to come back!! The day we were there the bartender was waiting on the whole place himself with just someone helping him run food and clear tables. We only had an hour before we had to be at an appointment, so when we sat down at the bar I got concerned that we would not have time to eat here. He was busy. He seemed behind. Thank goodness I was wrong. Once he finally got to us we were decided on our meals. He took our order on his little handheld register thing, grabbed our tasty beverages, and poof, off he went. C had the pulled chicken sandwich with deviled eggs and I had pulled pork, smoked chicken thighs, beans, and a giant pile of pork rinds. Holy shit it was good!!! I didn't pay attention to the fact that my thighs had AL white sauce on them until well after I had ordered. Had I know that, I would not have ordered them. I despise all things that have anything to do with mayonnaise. But.... Had I known, I would have never known. I fucking loved it! I could have eaten 10 of them. There were hands down the best smoked chicken that I have ever had. The pork was bad ass too! I dare say perfect. Beans were great, and the pork rinds side was massive and still warm from the fryer with a killer seasoning on them. There are not enough adjectives to describe this food. I am in love. I cannot wait to get some more of those damn chicken thighs!! '26 - 68

I have worn the same Pepsi hat to every restaurant, gas station, casino, gift shop, and livestock auction from Missouri to Montana. It's basically my formal wear. Folks, that bought more goodwill than any rewards program ever could. I told him I've worn this hat across 47 states and through three separate back injuries. He nodded like he understood the responsibility. I ordered the hot chicken. Now listen. I love chicken. I don't mean normal people love chicken. I mean if chicken ever ran for president, I'd volunteer for the campaign. This chicken was good. Real good. Crispy, juicy, enough heat to remind me I'm alive but not enough to make me start seeing old ex-boyfriends. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because I built it up too much in my head. A restaurant named Eugene's serving chicken to a man named Eugene? That's a lot of pressure for one meal. A menu board sitting in front of the truck had their menu for today. They had BBQ pork sandwiches, pork plates, rib plates, bbq nachos, wings, roasted corn, bbq beans, pineapple lemonade, and more. The service here was fast and friendly. The prices are about what you would expect for bbq. I got the bbq pork sandwich for $9, the rib plate with two sides -roasted corn and beans- for $18, and a pineapple lemonade for $4. Two people for $36. The amount of food you get is very generous. The bbq pork sandwich was pretty basic, just pork and sauce, but it was huge. Pork and sauce poured over the bun to fill the biggest portion of the to go plate. The meat was tender and juicy and is somewhere between pulled and chopped. The bbq sauce isn't overly sweet and has a spicy kick. It's not a hot sauce but if you are sensitive to heat, you may want to choose something else. There is a bit of after burn. My mom couldn't eat it due to an extreme aversion to spice but I had it later for dinner and I enjoyed it very much. The real star for me was the rib plate. These ribs were huge, tender, and moist, with just enough bite to keep them from falling off the bone. They are rubbed with spices and you have the option of bbq sauce, which I got. Get plenty of napkins because you will need them. These are some of the best ribs I've had in a while. I wanted to suck the bones. My sides were roasted corn and baked beans. Both of these had a little kick of heat to them, so once again, if you can't stand spice look out. Both side items were delicious. Let's talk about the pineapple lemonade. When I saw it was $4, I almost skipped it, but am I ever glad I didn't! This lemonade is so refreshing, sweet, and smooth I could have happily finished off a gallon or more. It's very sweet and there is little tang. It was so worth it. If you see this truck, get over there quick, you don't want to miss out.
