Was really craving some Cortaditos so decided to stop by this place. The spot is pretty cute and small and doesn't seem to get too full. The service was speedy and the people were super friendly making sure to help us get our cortadito fix before they closed up. I ordered a regular cortadito and it was pretty good. Not Miami cortadito level but good enough to satisfy the craving. I also tried the cortadito bombón which is basically a cortadito with condensed milk. I ended up mixing my cortadito with the bombón one as the bombón one was too sweet for my partner and mine needed some sugar. Overall a good place for a quick cortadito fix and their cuatro leches cake looked incredible. I would come back to try it! They have lots of other pastries and goods which looked really good and I didn't get only because I was super full already. read more

Cuban breakfast/ brunch spot set on a corner. The selection at first seems standard but they have a few things I've never seen before as well. Ordered a omelette in a Cuban style bread - got one with turkey in it as well. But why would I complain when someone gets you more than you ordered? Never had turkey slices on my omelette, didn't love it so the other half of the sandwich I removed the turkey. The bread is what really sold me here. It's completely different than what I've had up until now. Almost flaky, a little oil, piping hot, slight crunch on the outside with a soft inside, almost like a tayyaki in a way. I thought it was delicious. Though I didn't feel like having a dessert for here, most of the items seem super sweet. Like this raisin pudding cake I saw and really wanted to taste. Highly disappointed, the owners are obviously not Cuban because the Cuban sandwich I ordered was horrible, dry pernil, a ton of mustard, and it wasn't on Cuban bread. This is probably my go to when I want to order some food on uber eats since it's near by and cheap. Their sandwich are usually pretty good (my fave would be the pollo loco) their Cuban is also very good and a decent size. They have all types of pastries so if you're looking for something sweet then check them out. I usually order from here at least once a week through uber eats and 85% of the time something is wrong with our order (coffees have milk or no milk , cappuccino isn't done the right way or we get the wrong items) My coworker and I each Ordered a Capuchino and it tastes like plain old coffee , if I am paying more I expect it to be right and what I ordered if not I would have just ordered plain old coffee and pay less. so if you ever decide to order through uber eats make sure to call the bakery and go over your order again. read more

Very dissapointed today... Although this is not. "Cuban" place, as they claim to be, they do a decent job imitating it. At first visit I was impressed because around town there is hardlyba good Cuban bakery anymore and for some reason this one had certain things the others have lost. I've come back a few times; but when I order a Pan con Tortilla, they mever get it right. I've ordered it about 6 times, including today. I actually drove away today and just came back because it was a totally different order that I was given. At a Cuban place, if I order a Pan Con Tortilla, they might ask, "with what?" I like it with Ham, swiss cheese and onions... Not a problem. They will charge you extra per item, plus $1.00 for Cuban bread vs. Roll. A Roll is never an option at a Cuban place. It just goes on a Cuban Bread. Well, what usually happens is that they seem to heat up the bread with the cheese in it. Then cook an egg omelette and add a piece of ham to it. To me that is a ham, egg and cheese sandwich. A Cuban Pan Con Tortilla, you add all your ingredients to the eggs. Beat then in a bowl. Cook it on the grill or pan. Flip it to fit on your Cuban Bread and them place the Pan Con Tortilla on the press just to toast properly. This morning I got a sloppy egg, bacon and cheese with mayo and tomatoes.... I came back. The girl at the front (always nice) said yeah, thats not what you ordered. She actually was specific because they have two types of sandwiches. The correct one I described and the wrong one which is the ham, egg and cheese sandwich. Im a just person and hate bad reviews, I hope this one just helps out anyone ordering a Pan Con Tortilla and helps the location get it right. read more

I am so glad that I have come across another great Cuban bakery close to home. I've had sweets and cortaditos for breakfast several times through Uber Eats and have loved every meal. Their croqueta preparada is absolutely delicious as well as their omelette breakfast sandwich. The coffee has a nice roast and gives me the pick me up I need to jumpstart my day. You can also request to add another espresso shot to your coffee, which I like because I need a little more caffeine these days. I definitely recommend checking them out. Ordered from Ubereats. I had the potato ball, chicken empanada, and the cuban. The potato ball was perfect to me. It was a bit oily but its a deep fried ball of potato with a meat filling so of course it'll be oily! Tasted amazing and reminded me of high school when I used to get it for lunch at school. The chicken empanada was pretty dry. I wouldn't recommend it but the taste was alright. Might be a hit or miss but its up to you. Cuban was pretty dry for me as well, didn't have much flavor to it as well so it just wasn't for me. read more

Great coffee but idk where the line starts. This place is great to grab coffee and some pastries. It's located on the corner with huge windows and great lighting. It's very clean and modern. The only bad thing is you don't know where the line to order starts or ends. It's kind of cluttered and if you don't pay attention someone will cut in front of you. It wasn't too packed, but it took some time to get our order. Bring some quarter to feed the meter if you are lucky enough to find parking. read more

This is a new Cuban bakery in the area. I would give it a 3.5 rating. I've gotten various sandwiches a few time to go. The bakery itself is very clean, and the service is great. Very Disappointed! This is not an authentic Cuban restaurant. I ordered a pan con bistec sandwich to go. Was told that it only came with onions and anything extra I had to add and would be charged for. I was OK with that. So I added papitas, swiss cheese and mayo. When I arrived home and opened the sandwich, it only had onions. I was charged 50 cents for each extra and they did not include them, and barely any onions at all. A slab of meat in bread. Every Cuban restaurant includes everything in their pan con bistec sandwiches. I also ordered Cuban sandwich for my son, and he said that it was just OK. I will not be ordering from them again, and will not recommend. Go to El Artesano in Union City. They are authentic Cuban. read more

My S.O. ordered me a few things from this place today. 1. The pan con bistec: I've tried it twice before and it was absolutely delicious. However, today it tasted quite... different. There was no seasoning: It literally tasted like a slab of meat. Yuck! On top of that, the bistec was tough to chew on. I felt like I was playing tug of war with the sandwich. Safe to say that I did not eat the other half. Not even ketchup helped! 2. The papa rellena: While it was a bit greasy it was so good! I loved it. I definitely recommend it. 3. The ropa vieja empanada: I've tasted better... from them. The dough was hard which hurt the roof of my mouth (sigh). However, the ropa vieja was perfectly cooked and juicy. Im never disappointed when i come here. Their coffee is amazing. The pastries are delicious. My favorites right now are their iced coffee with caramel, their bread pudding and of course their empanadas. I always get the beef empanadas which are filled with Ropa vieja!! Omg amazing. I did have one empanada that was dried out ONCE but ill chalk it up to it was late when I bought it but i wont hold it against them. Their servers are ALWAYS friendly. I really wanted to give them 5 stars because I've been to the location in Belleville and loved it. My review is based on mostly I guess on service. I went in , not many customers there, I placed an order of a cafe con Leche with two sugars , a croissant and two bread puddings to go. My cafe con Leche had no sugar , OK no biggie I added it in myself even though it would taste better when it's made with the sugar. She gives me a box with my desserts and I asked oh don't forget my crossaint, she said she had put it inside the box with the desserts. By the way those desserts are sticky etc ...why would you put bread on it is beyond me instead of a paper bag. I go home , I didn't have the dessert yet. My mom had her piece and said to me Jenny you can't eat this. I'm like why? ....because it has coconut under it. I'm like huh? Since when does bread pudding pudin de pan have coconut ? Im allergic to coconut. So I look and I'm like wait this doesn't look right... I thought its suppose to have raisins, . Maybe they gave me the wrong dessert....I don't know. All I know is overall that's not a good experience , if I were to eat that without knowing I would have had an allergic reaction, . I would say management just needs to speak with the young girl who works there. To make sure she takes customers orders correctly, because certain people can have allergies to certain ingredients etc. And also if a recipe is going to have alterations please state "pudin de pan de coco" or something because it's misleading. This place is clean, has free wifi, excellent customer service with a smile and the food is always fresh! I am not a fan of the croquettes but then again I don't like any croquette except my grandmother's! No one ever seems to get them just right! The empanadas were not the best either. I'd say a bit dry and flavorless. However, they still get 4 stars from me due to the positive points I made above and the media noche was fresh, delicious and the bread was perfectly crispy! The coffee is absolutely delicious and spot on! I will definitely stop back in and try some desserts next time. This place was needed on Bergenline Avenue and is certainly a great addition to the neighborhood! read more

Just came back from here. The girls were nice. Ordered a ham and cheese sandwich and a pastellio de carne and a guava and cheese pastry. The ham and cheese first of all is with American cheese ...... They didn't ask me nor did I say I wanted Swiss cheese. Usually at Cuban bakeries it's Swiss cheese not American I was a bit disappointed in not a fan of American cheese. Then my sandwhich was sooooo soggy like they popped it in the microwave..... I knew it because it was done so fast.... I really wanted a nice toasty sandwich. I really likes this place. The girls were nice. I ordered cafe con leche my coworker got a cappuccino, and I had a sweet called "montecristo" I think it was, and a coconut pudin. the Cafe con leche and the coconut pudin were awesome, my boss had the montecristo and he loved it. The only thing I would say is that they should probably pay a little bit more attention when taking orders, since is a new place they dont want yo get it wrong with new customes. I also ordered a ham and cheese sandwich and asked for swiss cheese to find out when I got home that they have used American cheese. It is not a big deal, we all make mistakes. I am definitely coming back and trying everything they have, and Im already telling everybody how great this place is. Keep it up. I went to Sweet & Cortaditos the very first day they opened on March 19th (I had been so excited two weeks prior and was eagerly awaiting) and instantly I was transported to my beloved Miami. This is an authentic Cuban bakery with the best cafe con leche in the Tri-state area and the kindest family at the helm of this gem. I consider this my little treat and at least once a month I pass by for their delicious tostada cubana and coffee. The family operated cafe has charm, warmth and just makes me feel so welcome.
