Mr. Corwin was a delight to talk with and took time to explain things. He was generous and had fair pricing. After a few months of really great service, we received infrequent complaints from our tenants. When we would bring it to Mr. Corwin's attention there was no resolution. (Update: I hate writing poor reviews. I have upset the owner. I have since omitted the details of an upsetting conversation. The Pool in question wasn't being serviced, which was backed by photos I took of an obviously unswept Pool with no chlorine in the floater a few hours after "services" were done. A problem for the customer usually indicates a problem for the company as well...Perhaps there is an employee two timing jobs with his chlorine, what do I know. Mr. Corwin has asked me to remove my review. I take my YELP reviews very seriously. I do my best to have good faith, I try for honesty and fairness as I would expect other YELP users to do. I do not use this platform punitively, but to hope for and potentially facilitate positive change for both the customers and the businesses. Unreliable, unprofessional, and down right inconsiderate. The owner has a serious attitude problem. I really tried to stay with this company because Dan was so great to my mother in the beginning. She hired him to clean our pool while we were selling our other house. He installed a new pump and took it from gross to amazing. The problems began in December with some reliability issues. When I brought it up, he got defensive, but I still continued to do business with him and gave him the benefit of the doubt. After some continued reliability issues and seeing a few different pool guys in the span of a few months, we decided to look elsewhere. When I tried to inform Dan that our pool had not been cleaned, he assured us it had even though we saw no difference on the day he claimed someone was out. It got really frustrating because I know what a clean pool is supposed to look like and I was being told I was wrong. Keep in mind I work from home and am in my backyard 5 times a day with my old beagle. I know when my pool hasn't been skimmed or tended to. After we hired someone new, we learned that our pump was having some major issues and it completely died. No one had checked it or informed us about it from Corwin's team. Turns out it was a 2.40 hp pump on a box that only went up to 1.10 and the pump was burning out and shutting itself off. He obviously blamed us for the pump dying even though we hadn't touched it. We pay a pool company to handle our pool equipment for a reason. There was supposed to be a warranty on the parts my mother paid Dan Corwin top dollar to install, but there was none and we were left high and dry. When we tried to communicate with him to get the warranty information, not only was he incredibly insulting, but he was defensive and unapologetic. Great customer service in the beginning when he was trying to get my mothers business. Poor customer care beyond that. The way he responds to bad reviews on yelp is how he responds to his customers when they have any issues. Take note. Response: If your customer service is incredible, then I certainly didn't see any of it. Let's get serious here for just a second. I've worked in customer service my whole life and if I ever sent anyone even one of the emails you sent me or my family, I would have been fired instantly. The fact that you own your own business and treat your customers the way you do is mind blowing No one was living in the house until October, Dan. My mother lives in California, 4 hours away. Naturally, no one could call you out on your unreliable service until someone was living there. But thank you for the accusation that for some reason I am to blame for your reliability. Our new part has a warranty, but yours does not. Suspicious. Again, I remind you that I hired a new pool service before I fired you and they came and cleaned my pool and water. Not you. I asked them if they thought this water had been cleaned that week. They said clearly not. Please don't take credit for someone else's good work. My new service had been out twice by the time you invited yourself onto my property to take pictures of my home without permission. You came onto the property without asking or letting any of my family members know that you would be there after you were fired. You told my mother you thought my email was retarded when I told you everything my new pool service asked me to. In what universe did you think that was a good idea? You have done a so much better job of proving my point than I ever could have, so thank you for that. I stand by my review 100%, steer clear of this company. read more

Promising start, but the last year has been nothing but constantly having to check work and follow up after repeated missed service dates. Even when they came they only were in the yard 5 mins. New pool service came by and showed us a full chemistry diagnosis. The chemistry was so jacked up we have to drain the pool again this year! That's $500 in damages out of pocket. Corwin Pool Service never picked up a scrub brush or skimmer. As other reviewers have stated, Corwin Pool Service was only ever as good as his employees and they constantly varied/changed over and all I ever got was excuses...never an apology for missed service or improper actions by employees. And there was some seriously sketchy behavior from one particular individual. Seriously, just avoid the headache and look for pool service elsewhere. Didn't check either skim bucket for months. Do fake water testing to say the levels are regular while there's algae growing on the pool wall. Accused Leslies of scamming us when we got the water tested.
