Stopped in here for the first time since I moved to the area about a month ago. I'm a huge fan of good local breakfast diners so I was happy to see there was one in the area. When I first walked in at almost noon on Saturday the place was packed. Our group of 5 was still seated very quickly. The waitstaff was friendly, quick, and attentive. The menu is very impressive. They have any omelet you can imagine and any of them can be made cosmic (add cream cheese) for an extra dollar. It took a while to read through all of the options but it was worth it to see what creative combinations they came up with. I ordered the Cosmic Mad Max which was delicious and filling. I definitely plan on making this a regular stop during my stay in Manchester :-) read more

If you're looking for a somewhat eccentric yet reasonably-priced breakfast, search no further. This quirky establishment specializes in three-egg omelets, available in more than 30 creative choices (yes, I counted). You can create-your-own omelet too but honestly, where's the fun in that?! Served with hash browns and your choice of toast. You can sub out the toast and have an omelet wrap instead. And for extra $1, you can add cream cheese to any omelet to make it "cosmic". Try the Cosmic Cloud Nine, with turkey, tomato and bacon, or JoshO's Cosmic, with shaved steak, mushrooms, cream cheese and cheddar (add hot peppers and red onions if you're feeling bold!). I'm not sure what Aliens and ETs have to do with breakfast foods, but if the food and prompt service is any sign, then I'll just go ahead and believe that Cosmic Omelet knows what's going on! We arrived to a full restaurant, two waitresses ushering about and a busboy cleaning up tables. We walked in and were instantly greeted and told to "sit over there!" So we grabbed a booth seat, a waitress brought some menus and took our drink orders, and a few seconds later she was back with our paper cups full of ice-cold water (paper cups!? YES!). I ordered an egg-white omelet with cheddar cheese, with hashbrowns and wheat toast. The place was hopping and few people actually had to sit and wait for a seat. The food came out SUPER fast, and it was deliciously hot. The omelets are made in a fairly unique way -- they're rolled like a burrito, basically. The specialty omelets come with a variety of insides, so the burrito-rolling method makes sense. There was something peculiar about the omelet, but it was delicious, so I can't complain. The hashbrowns had this special seasoning on them that made them kinda spicy, but not really. Basically it made them yummy as hell. The toast was buttery and good, and the entire plate of food was filling (much to my surprise, actually). The waitresses were friendly, the people there seemed to be very happy, and the entire experience was quite outstanding. Oh, and did I mention how CHEAP it is!? My favorite meal of the day is breakfast and my favorite place to get it is Cosmic. My friends and I have been going here since 2008, and since then, they have renovated and grown so much but kept their amazing food the same. I can't really comment on the whole menu, as this is the one place I go and order the same thing every time, (the Tracy's) but I've never gone with someone who didn't enjoy their food. My boyfriend usually orders the sausage pancakes, which are delicious, and my mom always creates her own omelet. If you don't like eggs, you'll still find something to eat that rocks. The decor is fun and nerdy space themed, they even have a Tardis hidden on their wall! The back of the building is actually a small art gallery and arcade games for while you wait. Speaking of waiting, if you get there after 10 on a weekend, you will be. Just get your butt out of bed and you'll make it. The staff is lovely and accommodating, young and hip without being unprofessional, and super nice. Also, get your omelet with cream cheese. Just try it. You'll like it. Yes, breakfast was good. No, it wasn't great. After a thirty minute wait on a Sunday morning we were seated and informed that they were short staffed and wait times were going to be longer than normal. Our waitress was awesome...she made suggestions, had an upbeat demeanor, and was incredibly attentive. I loved that they offered iced coffee and it was served promptly. Our food...not so much. We waited another half an hour for them to be served. Everything on the menu looked awesome, the flavor concepts seem great and should be great given the description, however there was something about execution that just missed the mark. My "Irish Eggs Benedict" (with corned beef hash) was okay, but the hollandaise was largely flavorless and my eggs were overcooked. Big no-no for me. I thought the side of hash browns provided was on the small side for the price. Hub's biscuits and gravy was once again, just okay. I didn't like this place. Decor wasn't good. Very cafeteria looking. I ordered hash browns and a biscuit. They had no more fruit bowls. The biscuit came split in half and put on the cooktop with a strange garlic flavoring. It was really bad. The hash browns were just as bad. They had all this weird seasoning on them. This was such a great experience! My daughter and I had the corn beef omelette and it was great! I do wish I asked for cheddar cheese instead of the American. The Cosmic Omelet is nearly a significant Manchester landmark. Most people living in Manchester have made the trip! I went to the Cosmic Omelet this morning with my mom and sister. Strengths: The omelets are bangin!!! There are several omelets to choose from or you can create your own. You can make your omelet "cosmic" by including cream cheese, so worth it. The coffee is also tasty and the waitstaff walks around often to fill up your cup! The decor is artsy and fun! Needs: Despite significantly expanding the restaurant a few years ago, this place gets very crowded. If you are going on a weekend, expect to wait at least 15 min for a table. If you arrive around 10am bring a book. Due to the volume of breakfast patrons there is also a longer wait for good, however it is worth the wait! I will continue to hit the omelet for breakfast. Please don't take the 3 stars to mean "mediocre"...they mean just what Yelp says they do: A-OK. It's hard to give a pretty basic breakfast diner more than that. Had breakfast here with some friends, and everything was good. Large selection of omelets, as you'd expect -- so many it was hard to choose which one to order. But if that's not your thing, they have all the standard breakfast options, too. Tip: make your omelet "cosmic" by adding cream cheese. Decor was pretty basic -- standard "diner" type tables in a big open space, with colorful walls and a "cosmic" themed floor. Kind of funky, but nothing special. Top notch breakfast served at this bawdy little breakfast joint in Manchester. My companion enjoyed a south-western inspired eggs Benedict and I, a non-egg eater, enjoyed really good home-made corned beef hash and a specialty sandwich on toasted wheat with cream cheese, sauteed onions, and sausage. The home fries were also crisp on the outside, soft on the inside and well seasoned. The endless coffee cup was quickly replenished and the friendly staff was very accommodating to my somewhat insane aversion to eggs being anywhere near my plate. They have a HUGE menu for a breakfast place, but the best part about it is that it has a huge assortment of different kinds of foods, omelets, yes, but also other breakfast treats from the usual- oatmeal, muffins, to the out of the ordinary- peanut butter and bacon bagel sandwiches! A solid east coast diner-like experience, mixed with a bit of Portland, OR of all places. The funky wall and floor coverings certainly reminded me of that west coast city. The omelets eat like a meal... perhaps moreso because I got a variation on their "cheeseburger omelet" -- nicely browned and drained hamburger, crispy bacon, and cheddar cheese (I think American Cheese should really be considered a cheese product, much along the limes of Velveeta and things that come in a spray-can). It was tasty and not-too heavy, considering what I ordered. The eggs themselves very fluffy, and the coffee kept coming back around at regular intervals. I am not a huge fan of their relatively low number of booths (giving it that cafeteria feel), and I thought the hash browns were completely boring and somewhat greasy. The prices were reasonable for the area, and of course I wasn't shocked that they had no dairy alternatives for my coffee. All in all, I'd go back next time I'm in Manchester... a town I find myself in more often than one might think. Please note that I went on a Monday at like 11am, so I highly doubt I saw what this place was like at full tilt -- but even then, all the booths were taken. I absolutely love the cosmic omlete, I come here most weeks on at lest one of my days off. The wait staff knows the regular customers, they are friendly and very attentive. The portions are great and tasty. Every week they have special's so there is always room for adventure and new tastes. And if that wasn't enough most of the special's are done way home made from the staff. My personal favorites are the philly omlete (no mayo), the Mc omlete (no onions, with pickles), tests just like a Mc donald cheese burger, and any of the ones with cream cheese. Here for the first time on a snowy, busy day. Place appeals to our hippie backgrounds right off the bat. Service from Kyla was quick & attentive. I had an omelet, soft, with cream cheese, in a basil tomato wrap. Delicious!!! Rob had eggs Benedict on top of hash browns. Beautiful, huge cooked just right. We both took half home. I also had grits with cheddar. Grits are tough to do correctly but Coz has it right. Tasty, creamy with just a tiny feel of the grit. The cheese flavored it so there was no need for salt or butter. Great breakfast...100 times yes! Found this place on Yelp, and decided to check it out after a hankering for a hearty breakfast set in. This little, unassuming spot, tucked into the back corner of a run down strip mall setting is a gem. The decor is adorned with "comsic" artwork, tying in the whole space to egg...um...whatever, it's cool. A total locals joint, everyone knew each other, a real family place. The food was great! It's breakfast, with focus on a wide variety of omelets...but pancakes and your typical fare as well. The special of the day was a "Gardener" omelet, which consisted of a ton frsh veggies and cream cheese. Never had an omelet with cream cheese, but boy did it work. We got here at about 8:30 on a Saturday morning, and it wasn't too busy. Our party of six sat right down. The food took a little while to get to the table, but not too long. I had the Tiffany's omelet, which I really enjoyed. My hashbrowns on the side seemed to have suffered from a spicing malfunction (think: cap fell off), so they were a little intense, but I happily ate my entire omelet. The pancakes were alright, but nothing spectacular. However, the biscuits and gravy were spectacular. I went to Cosmic Omelette for the first time in years this past weekend with some friends who were visiting from out of town. Since they're only open for breakfast and a fairly abbreviated lunch shift (they close at 2:00pm on Sundays) there was a wait of about 15 minutes to get ourselves a table of four. They were turning over the tables pretty quickly and the dining area was clean, bright and a little crowded with tables. Not so much as to be overwhelming, but you are fairly close to all the other patrons. The menu is pretty much standard breakfast fare with a two-page omelette portion supplemented by the option to "build your own" from a list of ingredients. I tried the new "Miss Piggy's Junk in her Trunk" (a lot of them have pretty quirky names) which was stuffed with sauteed onions and BBQ Pulled Pork and served with Rye toast and a side of hash browns. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the pork was awesome. One of my guests ordered biscuits and gravy and couldn't stop raving about it. The service was professional, if not always incredibly warm and though the dishes took a little while longer than you might expect at a short-order breakfast restaurant the quality and taste makes up for it. If you're within 20 minutes or so of Manchester, CT and looking for breakfast I would definitely suggest it. read more

Cosmic Omelet! Finally we've met and I enjoyed our breakfast together. I was drooling over the menu forever and finally motivated to get my bum across the CT river to get me some food. We went on a Saturday morning around 8:30. No wait but the place was bustling and a line formed shortly after we were seated. I love the fact that the cups (for coffee and tea) were not the teeny tiny diner kind. I like a big cup of tea so this was a little victory for me. I thought I wanted an omelet but after reading reviews of how they're put together (and seeing them) I opted for something else. (I like the eggs and stuff to get cozy together but they make theirs like an egg crepe that is rolled around your fillings, like a cigar) I was delighted to see the magical words: biscuits and sausage gravy on the menu. I ordered the #7 (biscuits, sausage gravy, hash browns and two eggs). I got mine scrambled and I asked for the loaded hash browns. The biscuit was JUST enough. It was one biscuit, cut in half and grilled with a nice bit of gravy on it. It was nummers. The loaded hash browns were tasty but I something I think I'd only get once as they were a little too full of stuff I shouldn't eat. I adore shredded hashbrowns and am happy to find a place other than iHop that has them. Our waitress had zero personality but the other folks I encountered (when paying the bill) were super sweet (and made my day by calling me pet names, hey, I'm easy to please). This is a good place! I had the country club omelet, a mix of deli ham, turkey, swiss cheese and my favorite condiment, honey mustard-- Very creative and nicely made, comes with hash browns and toast. Service was decent but nothing remarkable, price was average and we had a nice time. Sign most of your day away if you plan on getting breakfast or brunch here on a weekend... I lived a mile away from this place for more than two years, and I literally never sat down to have a meal. The waiting period is always outrageous, leading us to seek other local venues that serve an equally good breakfast. I award two stars since I actually ordered take-out from here a few times before work, and it was darned good. A well made bacon, egg & cheese, and tasty home fries. A nice start to the day when you've got a long drive... I also appreciate the off-the-wall decor and opportunity to play games while you wait for your meal... Order the Lonestar omelet or Miss Piggy's "junk in the trunk" omelet and you'll see what I'm talking about! The homemade grits are the best I've had at a restaurant, anywhere! I love this place for breakfast. I have been going there for years- it's been better since they expanded because the wait times have been way less than they used to be. They have the biggest selection of omelets I've seen, and any omelet that doesn't have it- you have the option to make it "cosmic"- aka, with cream cheese in it. My favorite has to be Tiffany's Omelet or Joey's Cosmic Omelet. Now, you have to keep an open mind when it comes to omelets here because they are not so much omelets as egg burritos. In that the "tortilla" part of the burrito is the egg, and the fillings stuffed inside of the egg "tortilla." Also, there is much debate between me and my friends as to whether or not the eggs are actually eggs, or if they are egg mix, since there is no white/yellow marbling on the eggs the consensus seems to be it is egg mix. To be honest, I couldn't care less what it is, because it tastes good. Always get your hash browns loaded. This means it comes with cheddar, bacon, and ranch. This happens to basically be the filling of the Tiffany Omelet, so if you REALLY like it you could get both, and overkill it. But they are delicious, shoe-string style home fries. Their coffee is ok, not strong, maybe somewhat on the weak side. They also have a great selection of baked items, one of which you can switch out for your toast with your omelet. The Nutty Frenchman french toast is also one of my favorite go-tos if I'm not in the mood for an omelet. The staff is super friendly too. A nice place to wake up to. read more

Let me start by saying that 5 stars for me is a tough give but this place is really a 4.75 out of 5 Food- always awesome. Big fan of the Miss Piggy Omelet (Puled pork goodness at it's best) and the pancakes are top notch and HUGE! 3 full plate size monsters that are fluffy and delicious. Hash browns are ok better than most but still not like home. but the to die for order is the corned beef hash and biscuts. Biscuts are fluffy and soft and the hash is chunky and HOMEMADE, More corned beef than potato. crisp enough yet moist...none of that canned hash pate you may see at other joints. You can als get that in your omelet too. Service-The staff is friendly and busy but they always keep your drink full and the coffee flowing. Atmosphere-This is a sweat pants, jeans and t-shirt joint! Nothing fussy here. The walls are a bit orange and ETish but the rest of the place makes up for it and the super ugly plates which you never see till your plate is empty and by then you arent paying attention. Plenty of parking but don't arrive too late on a weekend or you will wait in line...and if you end up not having a seat and need to wait you should. As far as funky local breakfast diners go, this is a solid breakfast spot. Not surprisingly, they specialize in having all kinds of omlet choices- so many so that some people in our group were a little overwhelmed! Beware the loaded hash browns . They seem awesome in description (in that hmmm this-may-induce-a-heart-attack sort of way..) But I was disappointed by the low quality taste of the cheese and very greasy hash browns. However! Everyone found something they wanted and left very full. With so many choices, it's on you to find something right for your preferences. Everyone who made their Omlet "cosmic" seemed to agree it was a Good with the cream cheese. I do recommend their hot chocolate which is rich and delicious without that watered down instant package taste you often get. Service, was just ok, not super friendly or engaging which I think is very important with local small breakfast diners. They did however come by often to check if we needed coffee refills. A Friday morning, 10:30 am It was very busy, but we were able to seat ourselves at a table and grab a highchair. It took a good 5-10 minutes to get some menus and coffee. My sister asked for a side of milk for her coffee, but it never came (I think she asked, politely, three times). The menu does have many enticing options. Two of us settled on the Tracey's cosmic omelet, which had a mix of tomatoes, red onion, and cilantro as well as the signature dollop of cream cheese. It was good, a perfect portion, and cooked well. The hash browns (which everyone looks forward to) were a much smaller portion than inticipated and tasted like cleaner. Perhaps they were put on the plate too soon after it came out of the dishwasher? But it was disappointing. And the "loaded"hash browns were also a let down.. We asked for a side of toast for my 15 month old which also never came. And price wise- 3 breakfasts, 2 cups of coffee, $30 before tip. I would say it was not a "comfy cozy take your time" breakfast place, but the menu does have some unique offerings. read more

Yesterday the girlfriend and I were looking for a good local breakfast. There were a couple of places on Main St that I wanted to hit up before heading over to see a show at the Little Theatre of Manchester, but alas both of them were closed. Then all of a sudden it hit me, I remembered this place existed but had never been. We pulled up and were excited to see that they were still open. We walked in and the waitress told us to sit down at the last available table. There were only two waitresses for the whole place, but they seemed to be keeping up and had a huge smile on their faces. At each table they had the menus set up, so you didnt need to wait for someone to come over, and if you got bored, there were a deck of playing cards in a cool holder on the wall. There were a lot of very cool sounding omelets on the menu, but due to religious purposes we couldn't do the mix of the milk and meat, so we stuck with the plain ordinary omelets. I ordered an egg white omelet with cheddar cheese (they didn't have mozzarella unfortunately), with their hash browns and a bagel instead of toast. The bagel was huge and probably on of the best I had in the state. The egg had a bit of a weird texture to it and was a bit small but was still delicious. The hash browns however were definitely the best I have ever had. I have no idea what the season them with, but I want the recipe! Every breakfast place should have potatoes that taste that good. Whoever says all "breakfast joints" are the same has never eaten at Cosmic Omelet. This space/comic book themed restaurant is a delight. Part restaurant/part art gallery. Weird but wonderful.I had the three pig omelet..absolutely loaded and delicious. My buddy(a corned beef hash lover) had Steves Irish omelet and gave it very high praise. Server Kristen was extremely nice and attentive. Busy place..decent atmosphere....all good. Make certain to "visit" the art gallery in the rear of the restaurant.
