Big fan of this little spot. It is a small space, so if you are a large party I would recommend giving them a heads up. The menu is tailored to griddle style fare. Meaning, eggs Benedict and shrimp and grits are not a regular menu item. You are getting fantastic omelets and pancakes with little wait. You are also given the option of your toast being homemade bread! They had country white and multigrain today. It was delicious. To top your toast they have homemade berry jam made from fruit grown just up the way. Everyone is so nice and they made my friend's daughter the most perfect Minnie Mouse pancakes too. This was a nice surprise. A last minute breakfast decision thanks to a quick Yelp search. After reading so many positive reviews we decided to try it out. Place is hidden in a business center. There was a small wait outside since the placed was packed on a Friday morning. Service was friendly and promptly. The food was pretty good. Home fries were crispy and tasty. All in all a really solid breakfast; and the prices are decent. My only disappointment they didn't have Eggs Benedict on the menu. Finally got a chance to visit Lottie's this weekend, what a treat! The food is great, eggs cooked perfectly, high quality crispy bacon, and their homemade thick cut bread is delicious. I didn't get a chance to try the homemade jam but that looked good too. Prices are very reasonable and the line moves quickly, due to the speed that they get food out. They moved to this new location a while ago but it's the first time I have been to this location it doesn't have the homey feel the last one had. Breakfast is good simple standard fair. They do have awesome crispy bacon.....really meaty not the skimpy bacon you get elsewhere. The Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes have nice plump fresh blueberries scattered throughout. The Omelette are on the medium to small size but filled and perfect sized so you don't have to unbutton your pants. But the star here is there fresh homemade homestyle toast.....pay the extra for it you will be happy you did. They have several flavors Cinnamon Swirl, White, Wheat, Multi& Raisin. I love breakfast. It is the first thing I eat every day. OK, seriously, breakfast food is my favorite and finding the perfect place to be served it has been a long-time mission of mine. And, while the frontrunner is a marvelous counter in Philadelphia, there are some runner ups locally that have standout meals I love. One such place is Lottie's. Fresh foods, great service, and friendly staff. The pancakes are my young son's favorite and I love the home made corned beef hash. The down side is the hash is rarely available. So, I settle for the standard breakfast foods which, although drlicious, are, well, standard. What is far from standard are the home made breads....these alone are worthy of frequent visits. I love the home fries as well. I like this place. It does breakfast well and is convenient. Among the best in the area. read more

We ventured out to Lottie's on Sunday morning, as we always love to try new breakfast spots. I'm a sucker for homemade bread and muffins, so Yelp led me to Lottie's. We got there at 9:30 on Sunday and it was packed, which is not surprising as it's pretty far out in South Glastonbury and there isn't much else around. We seemed to arrive at just the right time...a few minutes after we got there, there was a line out the door. We sat at the counter because we felt bad taking up a booth with only 2 people, with a family of 4 walking in behind us. The plus of sitting at the counter is being able to see into the kitchen, shelves full of freshly baked yummies in plain view! The minus about sitting at the counter is seeing most everything else going on in the kitchen. Some things are better unseen. At every table there was a glass jar of (I assume homemade?) jam. We had blueberry, some other tables looked like they had strawberry. They said nothing about it, which was too bad. I tried it anyway and it was delicious, they really should have hyped it up. The menu was pretty basic diner food, a little on the pricey side. Muffins of the day were coffee cake and butterscotch, homemade breads were white, wheat, multigrain and cinnamon raisin. We ordered a coffee cake muffin "to start" and we both got egg sandwiches. We also tacked on an order of home fries as an after thought. Sitting at the counter, we saw the boredom and disinterest of the teenage girls who worked there, first hand. Never mind getting the orders that were up or asking if people need drink refills...slumping on the counter and checking your phone FAR more important than helping the customers! (eye roll) We had to beg for coffee and water refills, and our muffin did not come prior to the rest of our food, even though it sat ready on the counter for 10 minutes. During that time, I saw one of the cooks shoving food in his mouth, resume cooking, shove more food in his mouth, etc. You get the idea. Don't worry about washing your hands, after all germs help us all build immunity. I'm sure it happens everywhere, but here I had to watch it. The waitress had a snack too. And why not? She wasn't doing anything else. Now that the staff was well fed, it was time for us to get our food. Again, visibility into the kitchen is not necessarily a good thing. The muffin was good, grilled with butter. It had good flavor. Even better with fresh blueberry jam all over it!! It wasn't the best muffin I've ever had, but it was solid. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on whole wheat homemade bread. The bread was dark,like pumpernickel, with seeds in it. I asked the waitress if this was the whole wheat? She said it was, but it didn't look or taste like it. The bacon on the sandwich was crispy and the sandwich was tasty overall. The bread wasn't toasted. Maybe that's my bad, but I just assumed the bread on a sandwich would be toasted. My husband ordered kielbasa, egg and cheese on a grilled bagel. That was fabulous! The kielbasa was thinly sliced, flavorful and perfectly grilled. It was the perfect combination for a sandwich. The home fries - so so. But I'm picky about home fries. I like them to be crispy and these were not, and they were not terribly flavorful either. Overall, it was good. We had a good meal. But the distance, combined with the prices and disinterested wait staff throw Lottie's right out of contention for a spot on our regular Sunday breakfast rotation. However, if you find yourself in the area, it's a good option. We would go back if we found ourselves needing to be in the area again. Definitely would get another muffin and have a healthy serving of jam!! read more

During this pandemic we have been very cautious as to who we get takeout from. So happy Lottie's is open for takeout again! It is our treat for brunch on Sunday. I love Lottie's! It's become my local go-to spot for breakfast in GBury. I definitely understand the mixed reviews on here because Lottie's really isn't for everyone. It's dated, it's dirty, it lacks organization..... but it's charming as hell! I have always found the staff to be super friendly, and they really treat you like family after you've been there a few times. They've done a good job building up a very loyal following in the area. As far as the food goes.... it's pretty standard diner-type fare, but there are a few definite standouts. The bread is homemade, and it's fantastic (especially the cinnamon swirl)! They also have homemade strawberry and blueberry jams, which will knock your socks off. It's kinda weird to find 'side items' like this as the highlight, but Lottie's is a weird kinda place... I will never be back after my last visit. I have been here several times with my boyfriend. We love the homemade bread! Unfortunately the rest of the food was always greasy and just not good. Plus, the place is just so dirty. I can't help but squirm when I look around. But, we kept coming back for the bread since it's great. We walked in and sat down at an empty table. The restaurant was not busy at all. Our waitress made the choice to flirt with the booth filled with men next to us for quite a while. Finally she took our order. Like I said before, my boyfriend loves the bread. He likes it so much that we replace the home fries that are drenched in grease for extra bread. I also asked for a side of bacon. So, about 10 minutes later our coffee comes. It was cold and clearly old. About 20 minutes later I see another waitress heading out of the kitchen with our plates. That waitress turns to our waitress and discuss the plates. All of a sudden both waitresses and the cooks were laughing about what we had ordered. Now, if they were smart, they could have consideration for the customers that can hear and see what they are talking about. Is it my fault that the ONLY decent thing this place offers is bread? It shouldn't matter what the customer orders, you treat them with respect. I was shocked by all of their behavior. The food comes. The eggs were again drenched in grease and were just gross. My boyfriend had good size egg shells in his eggs. We never got the bacon we ordered, but were charged for it. And I was basically unable to eat after being treated I had the plague by the staff. We just wanted to get out of the place and never return. My boyfriend had to get up and go into the kitchen to get any of the staff to pay any attention to us. And when we pointed out that they charged us for bacon that we never got, the waitress got snippy. What kind of business is this? I asked for a manager and was told they weren't there. I suggest that the manager get there ASAP and fix this mess. The staff is horrible, food needs some serious help, and honestly the place is dirty. I don't like to sit in a booth with dirt and old food stains on the cloth. Yuck! Seriously?? Try cleaning. The only chance they have is to call Robert Irvine to be on Restaurant Impossible. I ate at Lottie's for years- food was always great, availability of seating was limited. However, for the food and the custom jam- it was worth the wait, even on the weekends when it was super busy. Their bread and jam is a meal in itself. However, another review listed here by 'Tim K' is 100% truthful- was in here for breakfast that morning and watched the cook call my friend a Faggot because he asked for his order to be taken instead of the inattentive waitress toying with her boyfriend instead of doing her job. My step-daughter and I decided to give Lottie's a whirl, since we passed by it on the way to school every day. While it's not the worst breakfast out there by far, it does leave something to be desired. The atmosphere is local-yocal, which wasn't bad, much of what I would expect to see for a "country kitchen". The menu is VERY basic: omelets are cheese, with an additional cost for each item (which is standard), the egg combinations are there, along with french toast, pancakes, and waffles. However, the hash is from a can and the waffles are frozen, so that was disappointing. The bright side is that they make their own bread - and the cinnamon loaf was outstanding. My step-daughter informed me that the chocolate chip pancakes I make are better (which. admittedly, was nice to hear). The prices were average, no real bargain here, but the waitress was wonderful. Would we go back? Maybe in a pinch, but I'm not sold. read more

Being from Glastonbury I thought I would support a local business. That is the last time we ever go there. The service was the worst I had ever encountered anywhere. I appreciate the homemade jams, but I can't give the place 4 stars on that alone. When I've visited everything has been satisfying, but I have not left drooling or aching to return. Most staff appeared to be chit chatting with one another and doing prep work (filling syrups, jams, etc) instead of paying attention to the customers. Most staff were complaining how long the day was and waiting for day to end. As a customer, we want to relax and enjoy the food on a Sunday morning. Amazing homemade jam and breads keep us coming back. This is your average diner breakfast with some decent specials and good coffee. Food comes fast and in big portions. The service is great most of the time except for one waitress that is a little abrupt (maybe she has a bad hangover or isn't a morning person?). It seems like they split tips so we have a hard time tipping the bare minimum but it's hard to reward such awful service from this one girl.
