Firstly- we were driving through from Long Island to Connecticut and this place came up in my list to "go-tos" on Yelp. So we stopped in and good music was playing (already a good start!) Really wish there were 3 to an order for $12 but thats me. My husband and I went for a nice walk at the Harbor with our dog and then around the avenue. Was happy to be able to sit outside with the dog and grab a bite to eat. We ordered pork belly app, and wings with Alabama white sauce on the side. My husband ordered a Brisket sandwich and I ordered 2 shrimp tacos. They didn't put the Alabama white sauce on the side, but my husband still ate them. The pork belly was very good, as was the brisket sandwich and tacos. We will definitely be back when in town again. Hit the right spot. Was searching the area looking for a new place to try and came upon this place. Looked interesting and I wanted to try it - was glad I did. The menu is smaller, but enough and great choices. I settled on the brisket empanadas for an appetizer. I honestly could've eaten a bucket of these as they were that good. The 'nada sauce was fine, but you don't need it either. They have a good drink selection and had Mexican Coke (and Sprite)! If you haven't ever tried Mexican Coke, I'd strongly recommend it. Superior to American Coke for sure. For the main course, I went with the reliable burger - in this case, the 'house double'(w/ a side). I added bacon, because why not. Burger was very tasty and something I'd easily have again, though there were enough options on the menu that I'd also love to try. Alana was excellent. Friendly, welcoming, attentive, and a pleasure. Simply outstanding all around. The place is small, but comfortable. 3 booths and several tables - a bar if you want to sit there. Several TVs as well. There is another location in New Rochelle (the first one actually). Parking is metered street. There is a 2 hour limit on the meters (that only accepts quarters), so make sure you keep track. We had a really nice dinner here. I started off with a cranberry margarita which was outstanding, and I got chicken tacos for dinner. My girlfriend had a regular margarita and we got more tacos to share, this time we added in the pork taco. The chicken tacos were really flavorful with lots of Pico de Gallo, really tasty. The sesame pork tacos had an Asian flair and were overflowing with pork and pickled onion Our server was very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is just very chill. Food was a real letdown. For a place calling itself a smokehouse, the barbecue was shockingly dry and lacked any real flavor. Meat tasted overcooked and tired, like it had been sitting far too long, and nothing stood out as memorable in a good way. Sauces did little to save it, and overall the food felt bland and uninspired. Prices don't match the quality at all. Service was acceptable, but it doesn't make up for food that was simply mediocre at best. Definitely not a spot I'd return to or recommend if you're expecting proper BBQ. Food was poor. Tasty food - but not a lot of smoke flavor. We shared the mixed grill for two. The serving was generous and the chicken was surprisingly good. We tried to guess how the meats were smoked, as everything was tender, but didn't taste smoked. Our favorite item was the street corn. The room is small and comfortable. My boyfriend had the brisket which was great but the real star of that platter was the cornbread. It's the best cornbread I've ever had. Our waitress, Ashley, was fantastic. Engaging, helpful, pleasant and super happy. The brisket appetizers were stupendous--a small wedge of tender brisket ensconced in a flaky pastry with some dipping sauce. Wow-eeee. Deeelicious!! The sausage board was ok--not great; not bad and certainly a repeater for a second try. The feast for two was really big enough for three or four. Ashley said she ate one herself but was dubious given her waifish physique. Fearful of growing a 3rd butt cheek, I shared with a colleague....and took home of hog of leftovers. The fries were really good--not oily, crisp and warm. The cheddar infused cornbread was phenomenal. Not some chintzy corn muffin masquerader. Super soft super moist and about 2-3 inches thick. The baked beans were good, the added onions was a helpful twist and the sweetness was expectedly alluring. The beans themselves were a little smallish and tasteless when tasted sans the sauce and onion splendor. The Brussels sprouts were served with cut up apples and a sauce. Suggestion to the chef, maybe braise or char them and bag the apples. It was not a winning dish as is. The ribs were awesome, nice Smokey flavor and cooked with a very nice crust. The meat fell off the bone and it was clear that the chef had rendered and reared them right. I'd order them solo again. The chicken was extremely moist and tender, with and without its skin. The steak....well, ok--it wasn't strong; it might have been helped with some dry aging--which costs nothing--a more generous application of salt, pepper and spice as well as a better smoke (I couldn't see a smoke ring). The place was noisy. My colleagues couldn't hear much of what I said--probably no harm there; and I could not hear them so well either-- a bummer. Lighting was not so great. It was between 3 and 4; Ashley pushed it up; but some of the technical imperfections brought it down to lower 3s. I will go again--if for no other reason then to try to figure out the 3 vs 4. My hunch tells me it will migrate down but my hope is that it will elevate up. read more

I was in a mood for BBQ so badly and found this place not located too far from me in Mamaroneck. This place is nice aesthetically and offers plenty of outdoor & indoor seating and is a good place to eat and watch sports. They have a wide selection of drafts and wine. I ordered the babe rosé ( bubbly wine) which I thought was okay. To see the menu you have to scan the QR code with your phone ( 1 menu for drinks & 1 for food.) The brisket empanadas we ordered for appetizer were rather small & tasted ok but the sauce that it came with was amazing (server said it was sour cream with cilantro, garlic & onion.) I ordered the crispy skin chicken which came with mashed potatoes and corn bread. The chicken was very juicy, but I didn't really like the dressing on the chicken. The cornbread, however, was yummy. Mashed potatoes were also good and tasted homey. The ribs were tender but lacked a bit of flavor. I would like to say this place satisfied my craving of BBQ, but it just missed the mark a bit. My wife and I had the brisket, which is their house special. The waitress recommended the fatty version vs. the lean because most people like the taste better. Aside from a little fat on the outside that I had to cut away, it was really good. I might try the lean version next time just to compare. Excellent mashed potatoes too. And it comes with a large piece of cornbread. My wife loved the sangria. I was a little so-so on it. A bit too sweet for me. To be fair, the waitress did warn us about that so I took the chance. I would go with one of the house cocktails next time. They also have genuine Mexican Coca Cola, which is cool. Prices are more than fair and the service was good. We felt comfortable there. The place has receptacle outlets under the bar so you can charge your phone. All in all the meal was great but the TV is way too loud. My son had the wings and he he did not think they were the best the sauce was very bland. The waitress was very pleasant. definitely pricey because you are in Mamaroneck Avenue. This place has been on my list for years. I don't know why I didn't go sooner honestly. I've recently started working nearby and decided to try some new places to eat and this was one of the first on my list. So far I've gone twice in the span of two weeks, that says alot. I've gotten their pastrami sandwich, brisket empanadas, mac and cheese and St. Louis ribs which came with cornbread and a side. I keep opting to pay extra for the Mac because it's friggin delicious. The ribs were seasononed well, glazed lightly with sauce, tender and smoked. The pastrami is Juicy, flavorful and smoked and the honey cornbread is super tasty. I haven't dined in yet, only takeout so far but I definitely will dine in soon. Give yourself enough time for takeout it can move slowly but it's worth it. read more

We have reserved the booth seating at 12.30pm on Saturday, Dec 3 via Resy. And we picked up our son from his SAT Test and realized that we will be late so we called them at 12.25 to tell them that we will be 5 minutes late (there's 15 mins grace period of reservation). We arrived around 12:35pm and all booth seatings have been filled and given to other customers while there were so many seats (non-booth) available. We talked to the waitress and they said it was our mistake that we're late so they gave our seat to other customers (even though we already called earlier to let them know that we'll be late but we're coming). No apologies or good attention and trying to make it works. It was extremely bad customer service. They just don't care and rude. We finally left and brought our business somewhere else. -- Very sad since we're residents of Mamaroneck and we know they have a good food but bad... bad service. read more

The waitress took our plates without asking to make room for the meal. A few of our party were annoyed by the lack of finesse. Entrees were nice. The Cuban sandwich is great - especially with pork belly. The fries were just ok. I would have liked them a touch darker and crispy. Maybe more seasoning, like a bbq blend or something special. Worst part of the experience was finding out the $3 draft happy hour was only available at the bar, literally 3 feet behind me. Cmon guys, is this petty or what? This is a pretty solid place for BBQ. We had the agave chicken wings, which were very tasty, and brisket empanadas. These were a little denser than I would have preferred but still good. We had the burger, which was juicy and big and delicious, ribs and spicy chicken sandwich. All in all, this was a good meal and I look forward to returning. read more
