Luego vine hace poco para hacerme un night guard y la verdad que fue una perdida de tiempo, dicen que lo barato sale caro y así fue. Cuando regrese para hacerme el fitting del night guard el doctor tenía que forzarlo y apesar que le decía que me dolía mucho, el seguía forzando y aunque yo se que al principio usar night guard es bastante incómodo, el dolor que yo sentía en ese momento era extremo y pues no es mi primera vez usando night guard entonces yo ya sentía malas vibras pero aún así no dije nada porque ya lo había pagado. El doctor procede a decirme que si sentía dolor es porque a lo mejor yo debería usar el materia suave ya que yo había escogido el material duro. Le dije ok esta bien y me dijo que fuera al front desk para hacer cita la próxima vez. Cuando hable con la chica del front desk le pregunté cual es la diferencia y me dijo que uno es material suave y el otro dura más y es el mismo precio y le pregunté en si de que material estaba hecho? Porque no tenía sentido que uno dura más que el otro pero es el mismo precio ( no se si así son los precios en general por eso quise preguntar para obtener más información) y a lo que ella me responde " NO SE" yo se que ella no es la doctora y solo la asistente pero debería saber la información no? O ir preguntarle al doctor o mínimo decirme que esperara al doctor que terminara con su paciente para que el mismo me explicara, entonces como yo no vi que ella estaba interesada en ayudarme pues yo tampoco estaba interesada en que ellos tomaran mi dinero así que amablemente le pedí que me devolviera el dinero. Worse service ever! The front desk lady in her 60's has the worse attitude ever. I came in to the clinic hoping to get some information regarding the clinic before I actually schedule an appointment. So I went in today and asked about pamphlets to take home and a business card. Also asked if they accept dental insurance. Her response was very rude. This was the best trip to a dentist ever. Dr. Howard saved my teeth. I was told by another dentist that I had three cavities and needed to spend couple hundred dollars to treat them. Let me start by saying I have the worst dental experiences ever. Probably because I don't do my research on places. However I got really lucky this time with the help of my boyfriend checking out which locations my insurance covered, and actually yelping a few of them. This place was the only one with good reviews, and there are a lot of reasons why they would. We came in as walk in costumers, and was greeted by Shirley. She was very friendly, and let me know that I wasn't able to come in right then but she would be able to squeeze me in a few hours later. The paperwork was very easy and straight forward. When I came back for my appointment Shirley was there once again to greet me and make small talk. She's really funny, and you can sense that she was very genuine. The dental assistance only screened my trouble areas on the left side of my mouth, and I was seen quickly after by Dr. Lien. He was friendly which made me feel much more secure about him doing any work on my teeth. He asked me a series of questions to help him determine what type of attention I would need on my teeth. He assured me that my "2 root canals" where just old fillings that needed to be repaired, and the pain I was feeling was due to my wisdom tooth that had already rooted. We ended up doing an extraction on the spot. I did not feel any pain, and even the smallest/slightest grunt he would stop and ensure I was okay to continue. I have already scheduled my next appointment confidently for my other dental needs. Needless to say this place is not a place looking to scam their patients on unnecessary procedures. Prior to my first visit, Shirley, who works at Cosmo, called to check if I had any questions or concerns. She patiently addressed my concerns and alleviated my anxiety. Upon walking into the office, I was immediately greeted with smiles. Paperwork was easy and quick. They sat me down and Dr. Howard Lien greeted me and made me feel comfortable before taking x-ray. Afterwards, he patiently explained my condition and helped me weigh in on options before further examination. His work was by far the best I have experienced. He doesn't rush to finish any process and always focuses on precision and details for his patients. Both Howard and his assistants periodically pause and check how I felt and whether my pain was tolerable. Cost was explained and no unnecessary work was included in the bill. I have total confidence for all my dental care needs at Cosmo Dental. My teeth are now both healthy and beautiful, thanks to the doctor and his team. At first, I saw Dr. Lien for teeth cleaning. I had heard he was good, inexpensive and thorough, which he is. He educates, yet does not pressure you to do procedures if there are any problems he discovers. I never have gotten the impression he is recommending unnecessary work. His professionalism, skill, steady hand, and gentle manner inspire confidence. When I worked in Menlo Park, I saw dentists in Palo Alto and Atherton, who were excellent but very expensive. After I semi-retired, I fortunately found this guy who was in his mid-30s and building a practice. I was pleasantly surprised to he see he was located in a new and modern, state-of-the-art facility. He is just as good as those high-priced dentists at their fancy addresses! Best of all, I never need any numbing medicine when I get his bill; it just does not hurt (very much). ;-) He does it all. He has subsequently filled cavities with composite, replaced silver fillings, fixed and saved a broken tooth that I thought I had lost, pulled a tooth and replaced it with an implant, whitened my teeth after straightening them with Invisalign. I hope I never need a root canal, but I'll have him do it if I do. Now that I need to be more careful than ever with my budget, I am glad he will be around for a longtime to take care of my future needs. It is totally worth it for me to drive a little to save a lot for the excellent results I have received there. read more

Patients beware! Dental work doesn't last! Oh, where to begin? About the only good thing I can say is that the price was low and the receptionist was mostly nice when she wasn't trying to guilt me into coming in earlier than my scheduled appointment time (I do have a job and have to take sick time for these appointments). As those things have nothing to do with the actual -work- being done, I'm still giving this dental care facility 1 star. And they get that 1 star from those things. First, the assistant doesn't know how to suction a mouth properly. The few times I was there, I was always choking on the water because she was afraid of putting the hose too far back (it wasn't even at the back of my tongue). I was chastised for -CHOKING- on the water once because it was in the middle of doing a filling. I ended up holding the hose myself to get the excess water out of my mouth so I'd stop choking on it constantly since she couldn't seem to do her job. Then there's the dentist. Shoddy dental work, to say the least. After going to a new dentist and getting a deep cleaning (which I needed and wasn't even suggested by Dr. Lien), I've had not one, but TWO fillings fall out that were completed less than a year ago. Now, I may not be the best at personal dental care (how many of us -actually- floss multiple times a day, if at all?), but I have fillings much older than that, which have lasted way longer. In fact, they're still in place. Imagine that. The fillings he did are already breaking free, if they haven't already. Finally, there's the chair setup, which is completely open. There is a little wall between the chairs, but the back of the chair (where your head goes) is clearly visible from the other two seats. Most of the time, this wasn't an issue because nobody else was in there, but one time there was another patient. Instead of sticking me in the far seat, I was put in the middle seat and I could not only hear everything, but -see- everything going on in the "room" next to me. (I'm pretty sure that's a violation of HIPAA.) And, of course, that person could see me, which I really didn't like. It was very uncomfortable overall. read more

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Lien and the Cosmo Dental Care staff. My bond that covered up a chip on my front tooth fell out this morning (Friday) and I had a second round interview on Monday for the job I actually currently have. I immediately freaked out thinking there was no way I was going to be able to get it fixed before my interview and my friend recommended that I call Cosmo Dental Care. They got me in within the next 10 minutes! When I got to the office, the entire staff introduced themselves to me and everyone was so friendly! He fixed my bond in the blink of an eye and had me out of there within the hour. The bond looks PERFECT. The color is an identical match and the bond feels even smoother than it did the first time I got it done. This was probably one of the easiest and successful dentist visits I have ever had. I really can't believe that this dental office has such good review, you'd better not believe it, I will tell you what my truth experience. The front desk is a very old woman( she said that she is the owner Dr Lien`s mother) rude, mean, speak very loud nearly yelling to me also to the other customer, the workers speak in Spanish in front of you, talking louder, laughing and coughing, when they are doing your oral, The dentist is not good in working skill(very painful), my teeth filling was fall out only less than 4 weeks, as owner promise the warranties is 2 years ( check the negatives review Dr lien's promise) they give you appointment and when you visit this office Dr lien's mom said they will charge you again or you leave, they don't do anything for free she said, when I said it's paid $569 it's not fair without liability the old lady just give me a note and said you are terminated by Dr Lien's fax note. so far I didn't see Dr Lien yet and no liability with what we paid for, they do nothing and drill my tooth a big hole without cover it , don't go this dental office, don't make yourself unhappy and worthless treatment, for sure this dental office is the most lousy service and skill in the world. read more

Dr howard is the best dentist i have ever had in all my 37 years of life. His mom works the front desk and they are an amazing team. After your first visit you can totally tell he cares about his patients and wants to make sure they understand and takes his time his work which i see as art and professionalism as a dentist. He does better work than the places i use to pay twice the price for. This place isn't exactly exotic with huge hdtv screens all over the place but that doesn't really matter when the dental work itself blows everyone else out of the water. I switched dentist and my insurance had gave me a list of places to go to and I had choose Cosmo dental care because it had 5 star reviews on yelp. So I made an appointment for cleaning. My first time there I didn't have to wait to get in. I was seated right away. The cleaning and exams went well and fast. Everything went great. So I had asked Dr. Howard lien if I can change one of my fillings to white instead of silver. Of course he said yes. I came back the second time for that appointment. He change the fillings for my tooth and not only he did that he made that one tooth looked fuller so that it can cover the gap I had. Now that the gap is cover I don't need to get braces anymore. I had always wanted to get braces because of that tooth but now it's fixed thanks to Dr. Lien. I'm super happy and I love my new dentist. He's great, friendly, and awesome!!! I've been a client of Cosmo Dental Care for a few years now. I've been well cared for there. The staff is always polite and friendly.
