I never write reviews but I really wanna be a great makeup artist and if you want to be a great makeup artist I wouldn't recommend it here they give there certificates to anyone I had people in my class that did a terrible job and got certified if I was the owner I wouldn't give someone a certified if I know they didn't do a good job and then have your name on that certificate and someone goes to do someone's makeup terribly and having to say they went to this school. I wanted to like this place so much and I did. But because of their greed it made me hate it. I was getting a 2 for 1 "deal" which ran about $2500 give or take. Class was 16 sessions and you are required to pay $125 to attend each class. At class #3 I wanted out, they told me I would forfeit any money I put down. And I was ok with loosing the $375 but when I signed up. I had put down a large lump sum of $1000 and I wanted that back. They said NO. I of course didn't want to waste my money. So I tried to push through I made it to class #8 and then I lost my job and could no longer afford to make the mandatory payments. So if I wanted to go back. I would have to pay $50 to make up for each class I missed which would be an extra $400 on top of everything! Such a rip off especially when life happens. So I'm really sad because I spent my savings on coming here. All to not be able to complete it or if I did I was going to pay pay pay. It's all about the money to them. And to be honest I don't think it was worth the money at all. Class is 5 hours total. And I felt we only had less than an hour to actually get hands on training. Brittany was my instructor and she's absolutely amazing, very informative. I would highly recommend her to anyone. However, all of this stuff you can learn and watch videos online and practice practice practice. That's all it is. How much work you put into it. You don't need this school. And if I could go back in time I would save my money. And learn on my own. Save your pockets girls. Unless your man is paying for this. And you have time to kill. Or you have money to burn. What started like an adventure converted into a passion, 55 yr old woman looking for something fun to do, admiring all the beautiful makeup now days, wishing to learn and do it. One day talking to a 21 yr old coworker we decided to make an appointment into Cosmo Makeup Academy because a former and a friend just recently graduated from it. Well I ended enrolling into the program, my friend didn't and later regretted. I can not tell you how much fun and interesting it is to learn how to apply makeup. I really love the school from Amanda at the front desk always happy and willing to help you at the store, the teachers, specially my teacher Cassie which she is an amazing teacher and person, holds the crown for her patience, Janny Florea, Donovan Gibbs amazing teachers, to the owners, Armin (owner) and his wife are the best. Whoever says different is because the person was not going with the right attitude. Armin always have the door to his office open to listen any complain no matter how big or small is. He was the want who in reality I choose to enroll in the program, he is very humble. And so what if they are walking with expensive things, they deserve it. The two negative reviews are obviously fucking nobody's with no pictures that most likely didn't have the patience to learn or just want to anonymously hate. I must say I love this school. They're professional they have amazing teachers that teach you well. Gabby was my teacher and her work is point as well as Janny. I really love their work. Possibly the worst school i ever attended , they straight up don't care about anyone attending all they really do care is about the money nothing but that. I used to hear ARMIN'S thing" money talks" that's all they even care about oh and the kit's are shit. They only waist maybe no more than $100 on your suppose $300-$400 kits worth. Bullshit just keep in mind if you want to go to a makeup academy you should look around for something better than this crappy academy. Horrible horrible! Paid for my sister course and she liked it but she wanted to retake the program with another instructor because she was still not comfortable doing makeup professionally. When I signed her up I was told that she was going to learn and that she could retake the course as many times as she wanted. This is what made me pay for her course and enroll her right away ! Recently , We went to see when new classes were going to start and she was told that she could only retake a couple classes but not retake the whole course because she probably didn't practice. This isn't what I was told when I signed her up ! I was told she could retake the course as MANY times as she needed ! Not that she could only retake a couple classes a& bring a model. This isn't a bad school , but some people learn better than other and I just wish they let students retake the course like they were promised. I know my sister isn't the only one trying to retake the course , they're other ppl too and they too were promised the same thing ! read more

Okay so how do I start off if I could rate this no Stars I would I DO NOT RECOMMEND this school to anyone!!! they talk you into lies so you can go to this school you could straight up tell the owners are just in it for the money and not for you to achieve as a makeup artist there just in it for the cash to drive there Mercedes around the instructors never once said a word to the students never bothered to ask if where doing okay or any feed back or questions we needed about the school never made us feel welcomed okay now let's start with the school when I walked in that academy they made it sound like a whole diffrent story they showed me a "kit" they gave me a tour the girl said the kit was about 500$ and I saw the kit and it had a lot of things it had LA girl concelaras/correctors it had a lot of brushes it had bronzes highlighters ect ect and when I got my 500$ "kit" I was like this is BS it was missing so many things from the kit I saw when they gave me the tour it didn't have it's not worth 500$ even my boyfriend my mom my sisters told me that is not worth 500$ the most is 150 to 200 the eyeshadow pallets are like 20$ morphe pallets the STAR GLUE EYELASH GLUE IS 1$ at the dollar store they gave us cheap makeup that's noteven pigmented they gave us like 8 brushes and just cheap makeup! If it was worth 500 they would've gave us more brushes better palletes a bigger liquid brush cleaner they give you this mini brush cleaner everything is just cheap oh andThe girl also said oh yea and to make the class fun we buy you guys pizza on you're breaks and try to make it fun by giving you guys snacks and chilling hahah never did I even see them order pizza? On our half an hour break like is that even nessary such a long break we only go in once a week and we hardly even do anything we walk in the class supplousfly starts at 9 to 2 when the teacher would start class at almost 9:30 take notes for almost an hour than take a half an hour break like why so long it's not like we do anything all the girls are just on there phones anyways just waiting for class to start and the teacher then does a makeover to a model and then we do the same as her but when we start there was times I needed help and the teacher was always outside talking to the girl on the front desk kracking jokes and on there phones texting ect and I was over here stuck needed help and she was just out there hanging out or most of the time she would just be on her phone instead of walking around checking up on how her students are doing or asking if they need help she's just on her phone noteven doing her job!! Besides that she would always make me feel pressured expected me to learn what she did In one day like I told her it takes practice you're here to help not to make me feel pressured No one there that work does anything there always just hanging out talking and laughing so unprofessionals and we get out before 2 so idk why they say we need a limit of hours if we don't even complete them we get out early and start class late oh and about the whole makeup thing the brushes are so cheap if I would do my makeup I would see the brush hair fall out they would be on my cheeks so cheap!!! I just think I got ripped off I'm so disappointed how I wasted all my savings on this trashy school since they talked you into there lies and once you're there it's a diffrent story!! Great school , very very hands on ... Clean campus ... Plenty of parking at the cerritos campus .. My teacher CHIkANita is the Best ... She will keep helping you until you get the technique & she is very very patient.. You will leave her class knowing sooo much .....
