I thought this place was really good and very authentic. The salsas are very tasty, especially the Robertina salsa, it's a green sauce that goes well on any dish. They have an excellent happy hour and taco Tuesday as well, you can't beat the prices. I got the combo fajitas and the complimentary soup, they were both delicious. Went here with a group of 8 for dinner. There was no wait, so we were sat immediately. Lots of menu selections. We each had a large margarita and some shots of clase azul. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. Our server May was very helpful and knowledgeable. Food was excellent. My mom ordered the whole fried Tilapia, we got Aguachiles, and my husband got steak fajitas. Handmade corn tortillas were the best. Came here today for Father's Day.... My father wanted to come here. I have never been. Since we are celebrating him/I let him pick the restaurant. Personally I did not like the Atmosphere, in my opinion it's not inviting. Food was good, but service was not. Food came promptly but to check out room for ever. Warning: make sure you verify the prices!! We ordered food, and when we went to pick it up, they tried to charge us an extra $20! My husband said that the price was too much and he was quoted something else on the phone, they said it was wrong. He mentioned the prices on their website, and they were much cheaper than what the restaurant was charging. This was my third visit to Costa Azul restaurant. We took our boss to lunch and this is one of his favorite places. We were all happy with the outstanding service, and with our food. I took advantage of one of the lunch specials, which was an enchilada and a soap with a side of rice and beans, I chose the veggie soup for my side dish instead of the salad and I had a soda pop, all included for $10.95. My enchilada was made with a handmade corn tortilla and I requested the cheese and carne asada option with green sauce. I also had the carne asada sope for my second entree. Everything tasted really good, and my coworkers were just as pleased. All in all, this restaurant is a great find and we will all be returning. We were all delighted and touched when we heard and sang the traditional Las Mañanitas when the server brought out the awesome chocolate cake. What a great experience. read more

I went to eat there with my man and he ordered caldo de res, I ordered campechana and un taco de pescado. 1. The fish taco was on a flower tortilla. The sauce was not good on the fish, the quality of the fish was poor, and although it was breaded, it was not crunchy. Overall, the taco was not pleasant, but I was really hungry and I ate it because I felt like passing out when I got there, I was so hungry. 2. La campechana. This has to be the worst one I've had in my life. I immediately noticed the shrimp looked like it had just been poured out of a bag, You know one of those cheap shrimp bags they sell in the grocery stores at Walmart . lol it smelled horribly, when I tasted it, it was undercooked. I dared to taste the broth, it smelled and tasted like vomit. I left it alone and did not proceeded to eat. It was absolutely disgusting. I will forever have this taste memory. It's been over 24 hours and I can still remember it. I don't know who told them that this is even mediocre food. They should not be selling this dish. 3. My man ordered the beef stew. He had tried to change his order, but the waitress said it was too late. I don't know too late for what all they did was microwaved his food. The piece of corn that was in the broth was still cold. There was no flavor in the stew and honestly, he did not eat it as well. It was at that time that we both decided to just leave the restaurant and just pay for the food and go somewhere else. When we approach to us, we did not eat the food and I was very polite and honest with my food review and how disgusting the food was. They offered to switch to another plate and we both said that it wouldn't matter because the food overall was very displeasing. Sidenote; what type of restaurant would not change your order right after you take it? The Customerservice was also poor. My boyfriend and I did not even complain about not wanting to pay for the order. We were just very honest with our review and I think that they appreciated that we were so honest with our discussed that they felt like they could not charge us for the plates. We could've made a scene in front of everybody, but we stayed quiet and we didn't want other guests to be impacted by our decisions, but they did not charge us which was fine. Horrible place. About an hour wait just to be seated, our table had no menus then about 10 minutes later one of the waitresses finally notices and brings them over. Had to wait another 10 minutes to order drinks which one of the beers had a hair in it and our table also was not properly cleaned because there were small hairs on the table as well. The food took about an hour after we ordered for it to get to us so in the meantime we noticed towels behind us and on the floor with a wet floor sign. Apparently something was dripping. read more

I went to the Costa Azul restaurant and I ordered a molcajete. The molcajete was very tasty and delicious. I love this dish. It comes with different kinds of meats like pork, beef, chicken, shrimp, and quail. Also comes with different types of vegetables and with their special salsas. You get homemade tortillas too. In my opinion the servers are friendly and they are very attentive every time I go. The Cons is that the molcajete it very hot and if you are not careful you can get burned.
