Normally, I'd be indifferent about a chain restaurant opening up near me. But I'm surprisingly excited about having a Costa Vida nearby, in Farmington Station. To date, I've tried all of the restaurants in Farmington Station; and I'm only keen about making return visits to two of them. Now, I have a third that I can add to the list! I think that Costa Vida's sweet pork is better than Cafe Rio's, and certainly tastier than anything I could make myself. My favorite dish is the sweet pork tacos. But I'll take the sweet pork on a salad, any time too. On our first visit to this location, I had the sweet pork salad, and my husband had the steak salad. My kids were all content to eat black beans & rice. No complaints from me, or the peanut gallery about our meal. Our total came to $16-ish. Completely affordable. This location just opened & everything is shiny & new. We went on a weeknight around 5PM & were able to order immediately. Everything about this location was standard. There isn't anything about it that's awe-inspiring. But I know I'll continue to make regular visits because I'm fairly certain the quality will be consistent. read more

Okay another dine in experience. I cannot figure out why it's so blasted noisy in there, noisy fans in the order area and in the dining room. They play music Lowder than the fans no way to have a conversation without yelling. And why does the dining room smell like the bathrooms yuck. Maybe open some doors to clear the bad air out. the ladies at the counter have always been rude to me whenever i go to this location. and they don't seem to care about anyone besides themselves. on multiple occasions the staff has rolled their eyes, dismissed me, spoke to their coworkers about me in spanish, not thinking i can speak spanish, and just generally being very unprofessional towards me. they also consistently eat the food in front of them while they are preparing it, which just screams unsanitary to me. i don't often leave reviews, and tend to give people leeway when it comes to bad days, but this restaurant always has bad attitudes so it's crossed the line with me. do not go to this location if you value kindness, professionalism, sanitation and courtesy read more

I'll never take my family to this Costa Vida ever again. Went to order my regular sweet pork salad and the guy was sooo frugal with the sweet pork. He tried to spread it around the salad to make it look more than what he gave. It was so bad I asked for extra and he even gave me a smaller portion than the first! Crazy that they charged me the extra $3.98 for what they say "2 oz" of meat. Never again! You're better off going to a different place than here. read more

One of the worst things any business can do is a bait and switch. When I watched the ad for honey butter shrimp I was excited, thinking they brought back the Bajio favorite. Instead I got pre-cooked shrimp warmed in honey butter with no spice at all. There is absolutely no way the shrimp pictured in the advertisement was achieved using precooked shrimp and it is clearly seasoned with chili flakes I don't know if the owner knows what kind of product they're putting out but compromising on quality is the road to failure. If I'm eating my meal thinking I should have stayed home and cooked, the chances of my return are it doubt. Charge what you must but don't skimp on the product quality or quantity. read more

I had one of the worst experiences ever at this Costa Vida. The portions they served were ridiculously small--like half of what you'd normally expect. On top of that, the staff was completely unprofessional. One of them actually swore at me in Spanish when I asked about the portion size not knowing I speak Spanish fluently. BEWARE if you place an online order they wont start making it until you come to the store, even if your online order tells you it will be ready at a certain time. Don't bother with the new hand held burrito. They are boring and bland. Workers at a couple locations I've been too feel out out of place when you ask for anything to add some flavor and variety to fix them into some sort of proper burrito. They need something like lettuce, grilled veggies, pico, sour cream, avacado etc. If you ask for a veggie burrito you don't get any veggies at all - you get a bean and rice burrito. This location is great, the staff is always very friendly; and the food is great! I love their queso! I always get a bean and cheese burrito with medium sauce and it's my favorite! Their tres leches is really good, and I love to add that on for desert! This is my favorite location out of all the ones I've been to! I HIGHLY recommend joining their rewards program! I love Costa Vida's food... when I get it at other locations. I have eaten at Station Park at least 20 times over 3 years and always have a bad experience. Farmington's store doesn't give enough meat. Often they put on a minimum amount of meat then take some back off. NOT ok. My sweet pork burrito with no beans had about 8% meat and 92% rice tonight. [Tuesday I ate at Centerville's and got a grilled chicken burrito, no beans. It had about 40% meat and 60% rice.] Farmington's staff are slow, seem unable to understand when I ask for 2 tablespoons of beans so I say NO beans. The food is usually barely warm. Horchata is often empty and watery when it is there. Manager or owner must be cutting costs, but destroying the quality will lose customers in the long run. It looks busy because they take so long to get you through the line. read more

I wouldn't have given this place a one - my wife is gluten free and ask for corn tortillas - the guy did change his gloves and rewash his hands - proceeded to prepare the dish - we sat down - there were five corn tortillas in the dish which corn soakes up all of the sauce and that left the dish very difficult and dry to eat. TL; DR Decent food. Poor service. My experience here was not very good in terms of service. When placing my order I was asked what I wanted and as soon as "salad" escaped my mouth, the server placed a plain tortilla in the tin. When I said that I would like a whole-wheat tortilla with no rice she scowled at me and threw the one she started in the garbage forcefully. Later on down the line the same happened with the tortilla strips on top. Before I could say if I wanted them or not they were already on the salad. To add to the confusion, it was busy and the employees mixed up the line of people's orders. There were several times my fellow patrons and I exchanged puzzled looks at the seeming lack of order or clear communication in the assembly line. The food was great. I really enjoyed it. It's on par with Cafe Rio. Because of the experience I had here, however, I will not be coming back and will refer my family/friends/strangers on Yelp elsewhere. My advice to management would be to pay a little more to hire employees worth keeping. This is our go-to whenever we need a quick dinner. Every time we go to this location I am impressed by the staff, always very friendly. We never have to wait in line long and it's always clean.
