I would give 5 stars but Bellingham gets a lot of rude people. They push and shove and are generally borish. (Theres an old Utube showing this.) Also, and more importantly, they discontinue products without notice or good reason. IE: 1: red potatoes..(reason: "we carry only for holidays") We make our potato salads from the reds) 2: Hoodys Peanuts in the 56 oz. container (they used to carry them and I can get them if I drive 1 hour 1 way or in other states but I can not understand why they will not resume this very good product again in Bellingham?) Sometimes they will respond positively to requests but often Not. And parking is a problem on weekends! read more

US Costco is AMAZING!!!! I 12 pack of Monster here is like $46, USA Costco a 24 pack is only $30! I don't know how they do it but I like it! 90 pack of EmergenC only $30, waaay cheaper then here. Many things are similar price then Canada but holy crap the things that are cheaper are extremely cheaper. We even found a 53 inch teddy bear for $30! I forced myself to walk the entire store and there is just so much to see and buy, but boy does it add up quickly with bulk shopping so watch out! read more

I love buying random things from Costco. I agree with the first review. I went in just to buy new pillows because they're pretty comfortable and were for a good price...for TWO! But then I found myself walking out with DVDs, food, and a video game. Thanks Costco, you're the best. It's also one of the few places I can get my churro fix! read more

The new store is huge - the aisles are wide, the parking lot is the size of a dozen NFL football fields, and the line at the food court moves at lightspeed. And kudos to the folks who planned this place cuz it's exactly the same layout as the old store, thus less confusion. Still the same great deals, but now with more room to maneuver my cart. There's also a great local craft beer section in the back - kinda hidden but worth checking out. read more

It's always SOOOOOOOOOOOO busy!!!! Be prepared to deal with crowds anytime you go. We've been on weekends as well as middle of the day during the week and there's always a crowd. I feel like they switch things around too much in the store too. I'll go to grab something in the spot it was in a few weeks prior and won't be able to find it. If I feel the desire to ask someone, I'm lead to a very different spot than where the product was before. At this point I've decided if I can't find it within a couple of minutes I'll just add it to my shopping list for Winco. It's nice to be able to buy things in bulk, but it's not really worth fighting the crowds or spending a ton of time searching around for what you're wanting. read more

I love Costco and this location is the newest of them all. It's huge, very well organized and clean. One of employees said that its so well organized and custom built for their needs, that they had to let staff go because there wasn't a need for them anymore. I didn't know the moved if it wasn't for the border guard coming into the US. He asked me where I was going and I said Costco etc... He said "did you know Costco moved ?" I said "I did not". He then proceeded to give me directions, so glad he did because I had no idea where the new location was. Costco is one of those places I have to visit No matter what country I'm in, because each one stocks different things depending where it's located. Hawaii Costco has poke, macadamia nuts galore, Kona pop (the most amazing popcorn on the world) Japan has a huge selection of raw fish, Japanese desserts, seaweed etc.. I bake a lot and buy all of my baking needs here, I buy my cream cheese here because it's only $5.99 for a large brick 12" and for the same size in Canada is $14.99. Tabasco sauce is $4.99 there and $12.99 here for the same price. Cheese, milk and eggs are better priced in the US as well, not to mention gas. I know, I know people are going " what about the exchange" it's not just the money/saving or not for me. It's something I have done since I was 19. Road trips to the US, planning crazy 2-10 day shopping trips. Black Friday weekend trips with NO sleeping. Planning our eating extravaganzas along the way. Good times...good times indeed....memories we will have for a lifetime. Every stop along the way we hit a Costco and a Nordstrom Rack.... It's our thing and has been for 25 years, even when the exchange rate hit 1.57 we still went, and this was wasaaaaaaay before it became popular. Oregon, Federal Way, Bellevue, Seattle, Las Vegas, San Fransisco, LA, etc....the UK, China, Australia,Hawaii, Japan, Taiwan, Mexico etc.... so exciting for me to walk into each new location! This is specifically for the Costco Tire Department. I find the general Costco completely overwhelming and the mind boggles at what you would need all of that stuff for. But I digress. I got some tires from Costco. I made an appointment to have them put on and when I arrived, they checked me right in, skipped off happily to fetch my car, and had me out in under an hour. Just the way things have been going recently, but my tire developed this strange noise the next day. I'm driving across three states in less than a week, so I'm feeling a little twitchy about car trouble. I took it back in, no appointment. They immediately helped me, and when they couldn't find the problem by lifting my car up and spinning the tires really fast, they took it for a little spin around the parking lot with one guy jogging next to it to see if he could hear the noise. Sure enough, they found the noise, figured out the problem, reweighted my tires and rotated them, and handed the keys back to me, free of charge. No muss, no fuss. I wish every car experience could be like that. That alone is worth the price of membership. But not the trillion bajillion size pack of K-cups. First time at the brand new Costco in Bellingham, WA. The inside was spacious and bright similar to their Burlington store. We had gotten some groceries - it isn't that cheap anymore as our Canadian dollar is down in the dumps. However, gas is still much more cheaper in the US than in Vancouver, BC. I stocked up on the three pack Kirkland contact lense solution - on sale for $7 USD but it's the generic brand of Bausch and Lomb ReNu so it's quite a deal. Their dairy products such as milk and cheese is also a better deal compared to Canadian prices but we're both lactose intolerant so we're not exactly going down there to purchase jugs and jugs of milk.The gas station is much bigger now, the wait aren't as bad as before however it sucks to wait behind someone that is filling up their full sized truck and three gas cans. Great place to check out however we didn't find much value there as we are only shopping for a family of 2. Oh and they only accept VISA here...not mastercard like up north. read more

We saw 2 Costcos off the Hwy 5 en route to Vancouver. Although a 2 miles off the main 5 North freeway, it was worth the $3.94/gallon price to pay as most gas stations were $4.19/gallon. LINES waiting for gas were short too; as well as waiting for the hotdog stand! read more

I love the big parking lot at this location, I'm easily able to find a parking space every time I come here. Easy access, right by I-5 freeway exit. Even though the store space is bigger than the old location, selections are about the same. The gas station has diesel and good number of pumps. They moved here a while ago from their old location along Meridian Way. It took me a while to realize. The parking lot is massive - one of the biggest I've ever seen for a Costco. Inside, it's similar in size to other Costcos. Probably the best place in the area to get gas because of the low price, many pumps, and wide lanes. It also seems to be where the Bellingham locals bump into each other all the time. At first, prices seem cheap, but after conversion to Canadian dollars, then not so much. But whatever. read more

We always end up spending more money here than we intend to, but the quality of the items are amazing. There is also the challenge of storing the extra items you are not currently going to use. This location can get rather busy. Especially on the weekends. My favorite time to go is midweek later in the afternoon. It can get pretty packed in the morning as well, regardless of the day of the week. Dealing with the massive crowds is my biggest complaint when shopping here. Shopping with a baby when it is busy just tends to stress me out ( I get bumped or cut off quite a bit). The staff is hit or miss. I have had experiences where they are super friendly and helpful, quickly getting us through the checkout process and expertly packing our purchases. There have been other visits where I felt ignored. One bagger once watched me struggle for several minutes to move all of the items around in my cart for so I could fit the baby carrier. She never once offered to help me, and it was clear that juggling everything by myself was proving a difficult task. If she had been doing something else I would have understood, but she was standing there chatting. There was also a visit where something was mis-tagged. We got it up to the register, and it was $40 more expensive than advertised. My husband left the register to take a picture of the sign with the price. When he came back the cashier just said, oh that's wrong, but didn't apologize or fix the problem. We left the item and were disappointed that the mistake was hardly acknowledged. The store is set up like every other Costco, so that makes navigating the aisles super easy. I think it is worthwhile to purchase diapers, wipes, cheese, and household items. We stay away from the dry goods because we don't eat a lot of them, and it would take us months to go through it. Membership is worth it for the hotdogs alone! $1.50 for a foot long dog and drink. This is one of my favorite Costco locations! It's large, very close to the freeway, and has a roomy parking lot. The gas station also has an incredible number of pumps. It's always a little amusing to see the Canadians filling up extra containers at the gas pumps... For being located in a smaller city, this location sells a surprisingly diverse assortment of food items. For instance, I've seen Taiwanese pineapple cakes and Godiva Chinese New Year edition chocolates here. The close proximity of Metro Vancouver probably allows this location to stock different items compared to others in Washington state. Whenever I come here, about half of the license plates in the parking lot are from BC. I always enjoy browsing the aisles here and filling up on cheap American gas before crossing the border. read more

Seems many of the visitors from across the border are used to large crowds and rude behavior. I guess not too different than our own citizens who want free stuff. I realize they come for the better prices but I wish they would leave their gas cans at home--or that Costco would have a gas can only line or a designated pump just for them. This Costco location just opened and is so much better than the original location off of Meridian St. This store size is bigger with a larger parking lot and the parking spots are also larger in size so that you have more room to get out of your car, which is perfect for a fat person like me. It is also more convenient since it is right off of Highway 5 and across from another popular store, Fred Meyer. The gas station has doubled in size so no more wasting gas waiting in the car line just to get gas. The inside is pretty much the same as the original store except a bit bigger. There are still samples on weekends if you want a free lunch here. Lastly, don't forget they check receipts upon exit, which I completely forgot due to a brain fart. I was turned back from the checker and had to humiliate myself digging through the food court dumpster for my receipt... while trying to balance my rotisserie chicken in one hand. read more

This place is constantly crazy crowded due to the influx of people coming in from British Columbia for lower prices, but the crowds are with good reason: relative to prices elsewhere in Bellingham, many goods here are considerably cheaper than anywhere else in town, especially for gasoline without having to pay cash, non-perishable generic home goods,and many food items. I love being able to buy stuff like rice and flour in bulk and not having to worry about getting another bag anytime soon. The pharmacy also provides good service. The employees also seem happier than many retail places which I appreciate. The main challenges are parking and trying to find the least crowded time. read more

Being Canadian I decided to piss off the (hopefully) small percentage of Americans who didn't want us in their costco and headed in with my family. The food is great I love the hotdogs, pizza, and berry smoothies. I recommend the food. The parking is absolutely packed with Canadians. I had a bad incident in the bathroom, the toilet paper was all out and I had to use a sock. Other than that Costco is a solid place. read more

Yes, 7, while those who want to fill up and go are FORCED to wait and wait and wait while Canadians fill up their 7 , gas cans, we wait. I buy gas here more often now as it's convenient to get to. Hours are good (6a - 9.30p on weekdays / 7a - 7p weekends) but the line-ups can be a bit annoying still when BC folks are intent on "stocking up". Stopped by this costco to gas up. Surprisingly the prices are practically the same as the gas stations around, so there's no advantage. I did not face any long lines surprisingly (compared to NorCal Costco) but maybe I got a lull during the daytime. I guess this is one of the popular ones with Canadians (I think it's the closest Costco on Canadian 99-US I-5 with a gas station. I welcome returning back to sanity of US prices-- $5 rotisserie chickens! Maybe that's why it's popular--they even take my CAD bills (unfortunately I couldn't get rid of the CAD coins) I grabbed a combo pizza pie and I swear it tastes better here. We do the bulk of our shopping here. The "red vest" managers have been helpful if I cannot find something that is usually stocked. However, I would only give the gas station 2 stars.
