I have made returns and there is one staff member, Cece- (black hair, lipstick )who is incredibly rude every single time I come in. She is dismissive and abrasive and I wonder if she walks through life as a customer treating other people this way. I will be going to the Pleasanton Costco from now on. I don't enjoy going to this location because of the parking lot entrances. The design of the parking lot backs the traffic up regularly and is frustrating to deal with. Luckily, they put the gas station across the street which would had made things 10000x worse. This location is typically stocked with many things and is clean. Staff here are a little less friendly than those in Livermore, but overall 8/10 experience. read more

A much needed update as this Costco now has a gas station but it is across the street which makes things a little easier especially if you're only there for gas. Besides that, I don't know how I feel that they've blocked off the front area so you can't drive through the front of Costco anymore. But just be aware because you'll have to drive around. Parking can still be a mess here. They have such a small parking lot though you can park in front of Marshalls as a last resort and walk over. Today it wasn't too bad and I found a spot easily. I also only come here on weekday afternoons which isn't too bad. I was surprised today in the selection of items I found at this Costco. I've been on a hunt for specific mugs that I kept seeing on Instagram and I also saw them available on the Costco.com, but I was able to find them here for a fraction of the price which was nice. I also finally found the Bibigo Beef Pho Dumplings which Fremont has never gotten or if they did, it flew off the shelves. I saw that it had the death star so I bought a box. What I also like doing here is going through the clothing area to see deals. They have some awesome deals here. I bought 3 leggings for only $5 each. I find that they always have my sizes when they're trying to get rid of stuff. Also I didn't feel like it was super crowded, but then again it's a weekday and the afternoon. Perfect time to go. Decent selection of items in this Costco location, but drastically smaller than other surrounding Costco locations (Livermore and Concord). Some speciality items are not available in this location due to size restrictions of the store. This location sells the most popular and newest items and discontinues the items that many still want to buy. Service: Always for the most part, friendly service with helpful and cheerful employees ready to help. Is not difficult to find an employee for help which is a plus. Has 12 ( I think) self check out registers that really do help the lines which are perfect for quick grab n go necessities. Down side is no gas station at this location which throws many off. Products: A bunch I mean a bunch, of winter clothes to be bought here. From snow jackets, gloves, pants, ect. Almost feels like the clothes are why people come here and not the products... still has many of the common items from meats, seafood, dry goods, you name it. Overall: A decent Costco with many of the items you may want, but really lacks on smaller less popular items that many still want. read more

We come here often. We had a super disappointing trip today. Our checker was seriously rude. We had a lot of stuff in our cart and I was still emptying it out and he kept on insisting we need to still get stuff out of the cart. I knew that I had to empty the cart. But, the conveyor belt was also full. There was no one behind us. So I don't get the rush. Also, his helper was helping me, but she was also super rude after helping me. I tried to help her pack the cart back up. Super horrid experience with the staff! Very upsetting. The workers name was Kris according to our receipt. Updated Review: Quite a few changes happened since my last review of my local Costco 4 years ago. They added onsite Optometry and moved their eyeglass section to the back. They also remodeled their restrooms I think. More recently, there is ongoing debate about adding a gas station here. The most significant change is COVID-19 of course. This really discouraged me from shopping in the store. Instead, I've been using their same-day Instacart service for biweekly/weekly groceries. I'n keeping my 4 star rating since I remain a huge Costco fan. I've even bought some of their stock since my last review and its been a great investment. Although the Instacart service is good, there are some downsides to be aware of: * Produce quality is generally good, but occasionally you'll find a moldy berry or two or in one extreme case, smelly corn cobs. No problem - notify Instacart and you'll get a refund. * The online inventory isn't the most updated - they'll often run out of items and your shopper will offer a replacement item or refund. * Prices are slightly higher on Instacart than in-store shopping, but factor in the time and hassle you save by avoiding parking, lines, and people during a pandemic. * If you buy alcohol, do note that you'll need to provide ID to the Instacart delivery person. This is not our usual Costco - we usually go to Livermore as the Costco there has a gas station. However, I was in the area and realized we needed to buy a few essentials. And I didn't need gas. The Danville Costco has a smaller parking lot than the one in Livermore, and the store is about half as big, but I liked the cozy feeling. The layout is similar - so I found what I needed without any problem. Shopping done, I headed to the checkout area with my seven essentials and twelve other things I had no intention of buying! The lines were unusually long for a weekday evening, so I used self-checkout for the first time. It was super easy as they have a person with a hand-held scanner helping with the heavy items. The service people do a very good but the wine selection over the last two years has become boring- you see the same labels and the ones that they bring in are not exciting wines. It feels like they are just filling slots and getting new SKUs but that the wine buyer has lost his passion and love for wine. My 3yr old lost her favorite stuffy- you know, the one special stuffed animal that your child can't live without and will have in their childhood memories chest for the rest of their lives. Anyway, it was a raggedy old monkey, but she was devastated when she lost it in the aisles of Costco nonetheless. We came back later that evening to look for it but to no avail. We spoke to Jared about it, he took my number and said he'd look for it. We assumed we'd never see that monkey again. But lo and behold the next day he called and said he found it! This is not your typical Costco. Sure they carry Kirkland products, but other than that-- it is not a Costco. The parking lot is awful. They have you park at a 90 degree angle which is not typical of Costco parking lots. The spots are also tiny. The selection is not as great as other Costcos but I do like that the gas station is across the street so the gas people don't bother the store people. The main gripe is the food court. On 2 separate occasions, either food is not ready or they don't have something. When we went last night, there was 20+ people waiting for pizzas as well as we had to wait+ minutes for chicken bakes. The guy said they were short handed and they didn't prep properly. I came another time and they didn't have any pizza ready either. This is the redheaded step child of Costcos. 20/5 stars for the meat department. Came in today over lunch and was helped by the team to purchase American wagyu for my bachelor party. Not only does Costco offer the best prices, it was the best service as well. They went out of their way to find the right cuts for me and help make sure I knew to come in on Thursday to get the best selection. I'm definitely a fan of this Costco. Came here for the first time due to grabbing a bite to eat prior to a doctor's appointment and then returned to process and pick up some medication. Like most Costco locations, parking is plentiful but anticipating something front row almost never happens. The products sold here range from fresh baked goods, hot deli items, fresh produce, home goods, clothing, and medicines. They pretty much carry all of life's essentials all under one huge roof. This particular location always seems very well stocked and organized. I go here almost every other week but this time had the hubby with me. We didn't buy much stuff only need a couple of items. The employee was helpful ringing our heavy items at the self checkout. Once we got to the exit door to leave. I've noticed the employee, Drew checked off the receipt from the customers in front of us without even looking at their cart but when it came to us, DREW (2015) GAVE US A DIFFICULT TIME. He kept questioning us about how many items we have, you're suppose to know, why not. Etc. Are we suppose to know? Isn't that your job? I just didn't like how we were discriminated. Cause I know we don't fit in with the crowd here. I always felt that vibe when coming to this location and Livermore location. If you plan your trip to Costco you can get in and out quickly. My preferred time of day to go is around 2 PM. The crowds ago at lunch have left. The moms are getting ready to go pick their kids up from school. Costco's prices on bulk items are competitive. The quality of their paper goods is good. Costco on Hesperian in Hayward is my to go spot for shopping. During this annoying pandemic that has everyone all paranoid. I found myself going to different Costco location for essentials because they're either sold out or there's long line. My brother came here with my sister a while back and told me this Costco is fully stocked on everything. I was here the next day with my mom. There was no line. Everyone walking calmly and not rushing. I swear people in this area are more civilized. You can go to any other location super early and wait in line to go in and not find what you need. Not at this Costco. The area where they stack all the TP was full plus the had 6 isles of more pallets of TP on both ends which is good because that's what everyone goes for. Unfortunately they don't take cash at the food court like other locations I frequent and told me I would have to go to the registers and order it there. We've come to this Costco location for years and have spend hundreds of dollars weekly. It has always been great, especially during the pandemic. It's amazing how a bad experience can turn it all upside down. My post-partum wife went to Costco today and was wearing our 2 month old daughter. She apparently didn't "empty the cart onto the checkout belt" sufficiently enough for the cashier. Shout out to Costco's employees especially Jim at returns in getting my Japanese maple tree home. I bought this beautiful tree and couldn't fit it into my suv so I was just about to return it. Jim at return was listening to my story and how I would need a flatbed truck and drive it home to Walnut Creek. He said he has a truck and lives in Walnut Creek and offered to drive it home for me after he gets off. He delivered it as promised and made my day/week/month! This is not apart of Costco's service but Jim is just a kind person and I am grateful and lucky to come across someone like him. This is the Costco that we go to the most. It has a pretty good size of a parking lot - but with Costco as usual it doesn't matter because they're always busy!!! But on a weekday afternoon, the crowdedness is generally slightly more manageable. The inside of the store looked pretty much the same as the other Costco. Products were organized pretty well and, despite being filled with shoppers, the place was pretty neat and wasn't messy at all. I personally love Costco because they offer stuff in bulk and therefore at better prices compared to typical chain grocery stores generally. Also, you'd find items findable exclusively only at Costco too! Another great thing about Costco stores is that typically each store would sell items that matches the demography of the area of its location. For example, in this Danville/San Ramon store, I found Indian kitchen staples such as ghee, Chinese seasonal items such as moon cakes (yasss!!!), and so many others. I was also able to also what I was looking for, what looked like very authentic Japanese matcha powder, which was quite pricey (at $20) but I purchased it anyway cause I really wanted it. One thing that I found that I thought was pretty amazing was this huge jar of peeled pears in light syrup - it looked so good I had to buy it. It was priced close to $7, not bad, given the amount of pears inside that jar. read more

Not sure why I fought going to this location for so long- I think it is the lack of a gas station. Aside from that small fact, this Costco is a great place to stock up on all your staple needs, from condiments and meats, to light bulbs, batteries and leggings, Costco has it all. I have shopped at this location at all different days of the week and times. Yes, the parking gets crowded but I always try and park far to get some extra steps in so it is not too much of a problem. I understand the parking lot complaints though. I really like how organized the clothing section is here. Sizes are typically in a logical order, making it easy to find what I need. I also find the employees to be friendly and helpful. One weird thing is that this is the only Costco location where I don't always have to flash my card when I come in. Kinda weird but it you have to have your card to check out so it all works out in the end. They have started having a great selection of Keto snacks which is great because the prices are reasonable and allow me to try some new things. A five star review is in their future if that has station gets built. If not, this is still a great Costco filled with friendly people and everything you expect to see on the Costco shelves. read more

Costco will always be 5 stars for me. I have no complaints. It's pretty much the same like everywhere else. You have the warehouse where you can buy alcohol, food, household items, water, and Hawaii chocolates. Location: Close to the airport so before you head to your hotel, stop by here and pick up whatever you need. Food Court: The only item that we don't have in california was the mango juice and that was good. Parking: A lot of parking so don't worry about that What we bought: We bought a case of water for the entire week, anko spread and Hawaiian bread. If you've never had Anko spread, it's pretty good. The parking lot is always full but I was in and out very quick. There was a bunch of lines open you can either go to self checkout or go to a cashier. Which is very nice and convenient when you are in a hurry (specially if you only have one item or two items). Everything was clean and neat and easy to find what you are looking for. When you place your order in for your food they get a notification and get your order ready for you. So when you go up to the window you just show them your receipt and they already have your food ready for you! read more
