Can you prepay another four months at the current rate? no you can't. I went from a hair under $200 with insurance to about $300 - So you are either stuck paying 50% more (after introductory rate) especially if you have a bunch of junk or you move out. I chose the latter as I do have a truck and I was able to get a shed in my backyard. This may be the practice in the industry, but personally it feels pretty scummy to me. I'm only giving 2 stars as the staff were pleasant and easy to work with. As long as you know what you are getting into things should be fine. I just wasn't aware the rate would increase so drastically. Buyer (ahem renter) beware

This review is for the Public Storage facility located at 9520 San Ramon Valley Blvd., San Ramon, CA 94583 These guys really are the "crooks" that all the previous reviews say they are! Any positive reviews you happen to see are most likely from them, basically catfishing the public and trying to offset the numerous negative reviews they've received because I refuse to believe anyone is legitimately giving these pirates anything more than one or two stars, at best. This particular franchise is so bad we're filing a complaint with the corporate office and suggesting that they strip the owner(s) of their franchise rights! They are single handedly dragging the entire company, and possibly the entire storage industry down with them. Like so many other posts you'll read, what they do is lure you in with cheap pricing. We originally rented a 10'x35' space for what seemed like at the time a very fair and decent price. But within the first year they raised the prices three (3) times. Then most recently they contacted us stating that they were going to raise our rent from $458 /month to $732 a month!! Adding further insult to injury, the only explanation they would give us was, "it's what the market will bear." After we complained and informed them that we were leaving they tried to sweeten the deal and tell us they would only charge us $586 a month for the next month and then raise the rent again after that! AS IF THAT WAS SOME KIND OF INCREDIBLY SWEET DEAL!?! I have no doubt those conniving con artists will likely type some sort of rebuttal and try to claim that it wasn't their fault. But DO NOT believe them!!! These guys are nothing more than storage pirates and they're NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!! Here's how their scheme works... They lure you in with what appears to be an affordable and a reasonable price. Then they wait for you to get all your stuff moved into your space, and obviously if you're renting a 10'x35' space you probably have a car and/or a lot of stuff to move, right? Then after a couple of months they come back at you and start jacking up the price. All the while using the excuse, "that's the market price." What they're betting on is the fact that you very likely just spent a lot of time, money and effort to move in and don't have the time, the money or the will to move again so soon. We vacated our unit in mid-January 2026 and sadly we already know there is no way we're going to receive any sort of pro-rated refund. Again, as the previous reviews say, "they're crooks" and when have you ever heard of a crook offering you a refund? if they do, I'm sure it will come with the condition that I change my review. But you know what? F' them! It's worth the money to let the public know to drive right past these a-holes and go find someone, ANYONE else to rent the storage space they need. We found a great deal at Extra Space Storage on Alcosta Blvd., by the way. www.extraspace.com/ Lastly, even if you don't want to accept our review or the other 1-star reviews telling you that they are "crooks," be sure to check out the photos. (See the RAT DAMAGES!) The alley where all the largest storage spaces are located has barely enough space for two cars, and in several spots you can't fit two cars. In fact, people are frequently getting into arguments about not being able to pass and how it's a "one-way driveway" and you can't block it. However, if you're moving into or out of a 10'x35' space you very likely have a truck load of items and as a result you can't help but block the driveway. And yet... other people can file a complaint against you and end up causing you problems with your account. The one positive review I read recently was in regard to the app you can use to open the gates. BFD! Every storage facility has an app to open their gates. However, the thing with this facility is that the app frequently doesn't work. Some days it works, but most days it doesn't. And then there are the days when one gate works and the other doesn't. And there's never anyone around when you need them. Having no representatives on site is not a bonus. It shows a lack of care or attention to the business. or likely a fear of confronting the public with their complaints. Most of the tenants we've met can't stand this place, but they put up with it because of the convenience of their location. They only reason why I've giving them a 1 star rating is because you can't give anyone A ZERO STAR RATING! But that's what I would give these folks, zip, zero, nada, nothing, a big fat friggin' goose egg, no stars rating all the way around! Find someplace else. Try the Public Storage facility just North at 1925 San Ramon Valley Blvd, they may be better. They certainly have better reviews. Seriously, try anyplace else and don't get suckered into this location's scam. READ ALL THE 1-STAR REVIEWS!

We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

To make matters worse, I was instructed to unload and move my own pallet of batteries for recycling. After I had already done the work, I was suddenly told I couldn't continue because I was wearing Birkenstocks. If that was actually a safety policy, one of the employees could have easily told me before I started unloading instead of waiting until I was finished. When I was told I had to wait in my car, I simply walked over to my vehicle, and the owner continued insulting me by calling me a "dick" as I left. Customer service and basic professionalism were completely absent. There are plenty of other recycling businesses that treat their customers with respect. I would definitely recommend taking your business elsewhere.

Instead...and this time..I'm genuinely so happy with the service and value associated with it. I just had to write up a Yelp review! I was knee deep in a bathroom renovation project and had to get all of the demolition junk outta sight before my wife came home from a long weeken. She surely would have lost it on me with the vast amount of well...crap...EVERYWHERE!! I needed help and I needed it yesterday. I made exactly one phone call that day. Chip (owner) picked up and personally delivered a truck within an hour or so of the call. He was informative, flexible with timing, and most of all fair. The cost was reasonable and actually less than I had anticipated it being, the delivery and pickup were at the exact time that was promised, and you can tell from speaking with them....it's just a company run by genuine and very real human beings. At any rate...i could go on and on as Chip and I dove into some pretty great conversations during the drop off and subsequent pickup. But instead of waxing poetic, I'll just say give these guys a ring! If you're in any similar situation to mine...don't bother calling anyone else.

Three (3) great local self storage facilities in our rental experience are: 1) DUBLIN Security Storage., DUBLIN, CA. It was clean and the price was fair. Managers were helpful. 2) Another great option for self storage is UNTS in LIVERMORE, CA: it's clean, and the owners are extremely professional. My nicest furniture is still at Livermore UNITS. The UNITS drivers will drive right to your FROM & TO destinations! It's easy. 3) Other good options are in PLEASANTON: many storage facilities in Pleasanton are climate controlled. Prices are fair. Management is helpful. 4) Friends of mine rented here in San Ramon. I wish I had listened to them and chosen this SAN RAMON facility before making the decision to rent in Danville. I would rather drive extra miles to rent here in San Ramon than rent at Danville Self Storage. A video will be posted on YouTube this week to show my experience there in Danville, to match the Danville Self Storage Yelp reviews. Type "self storage" and type your East a Bay zip code, and you get the largest selection of self storage options with that search. I have been using SPS for the last 2.5 years and have been extremely satisified. Lisa and Norm go out of their way to insure that your storage experience is the best that it can be. Their customer service is paramount. I feel safe and comfortable using the facility. It has "state of the art" video surveillance constantly monitoring the entire facility and each storage unit is equiped with its own individual security alarm. How terrific is that? I also find the extra large freight elevator and the facility's complimentary flat bed especially handy. I've used the flat bed many times even after the move in process. Originally, I chose SPS because of its climate control feature. Now, I recognize that there is so.......... much more to the package. SPS you rock!!! When I decided to move to Contra Costa County from the midwest this summer, I contacted SPS knowing I would need to rent a climate controlled storage facility. Lisa and Bruce were very helpful and made sure the right size unit would be available when the moving van arrived. Additionally they guided the movers with docking a 28 foot trailer. They have continued to provide exceptional service whether it's a call or visit to SPS. I am grateful not only for the fine service but also the reasonable price and quality of the storage facility. It's clean, well-lit, and highly secure. I also have peace of mind knowing that my possessions are protected to the maximum extent possible. I have been using this facility in San Ramon since they opened in 2003. Over the last 9 years I have had multiple units. The place is so clean it is hard to believe it is a storage facility. I have used other storage places in the past, but nothing compares to this. Units are climate controlled or they have some great indoor air system. My stuff has been in here for years... no dust, no bugs, no cobwebs. Plus, the facility is SUPER secure. Code to get it your unit or an alarm goes off. The manager Lisa is always super friendly and helpful. She really goes the extra mile to make sure I am taken care of. I would recommend this facility to anyone! This public storage is the best place I could find after searching for many places. Not only is it clean, new, and secure, the customer service is outstanding. Lisa is by far one of the nicest, and professional/informative people you can meet, and nothings better than having an individual as such to help out with your storage needs. Overall, the service is great, and very helpful. As mentioned, the building appears to be very new, and is certainly very secure. The storage rooms are very clean, and are kept at the right room temperature, in order to keep all your furniture in its greatest condition. Exceptionally clean, with an exceptional staff who is willing to do whatever it takes to resolve an issue. The manager I worked with was very professional and provided exceptional customer service. He made it a point to go over the paperwork and show how to access the storage unit with the security pad and helped navigate the labyrinth of hallways and units. Absolutely would recommend this facility ! Lisa ( manager on duty) is always helpful and courteous and would go out of her way to remedy any situation - helped me with my lock when i lost my key, gave me payment reminder calls when I asked her, and is just an overall pleasant person to deal! This place is well maintained and always clean and well vented- it doesnt have that stuffy, dust -filled atmosphere that other storage units seem to have. Lisa was extremely helpful to me when I called to find out about the facility, taking the time to answer all of my questions, and was also very kind and helpful when I rented my storage space and when I got my lock stuck. The facility is much cleaner and has a much fresher feel to it than any other storage facility that I have used or looked at in the Bay Area. The garage-type door on my unit is easy to use and much more convenient than the types of doors on other units I have used in the Bay Area. This storage facility is quite perfect, not just because it's walking distance to where I live, but because Lisa, the property manager is a delight to deal with. She's very maternal, in a positive/good way of course, and sets a supreme example for what customer service is. The ideal selling point about storing here is that the facility is climate controlled, so you don't have to worry about certain valuables melting from the heat or getting mildewy or gross from the cold. This is a fantastic place. Safe, secure, and air conditioned. The personnel are so very helpful - it makes it a pleasure to use our space. We recommend this place to anyone who wants to rest at ease with their belongings being stored outside of their home. We moved everything from a nearby competitor's storage facility - as our unit had been broken into and the surveillance and security were so poor. Security Public Storage in San Ramon is a great solution for storing items while away. It is easily accessible and climate controlled which means there is no risk of humidity ruining your items. The staff is very helpful guiding one with the proper size unit for your belongings. Transporting in and out of the facility is a breeze as there are carts to use. This is by far the best storage space business I have ever had the pleasure of using. The facility is clean, extremely well-run, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. It is an environment-controlled space so you don't have to worry about temperature and humidity, which is important for paperwork, artwork and sensitive electronics. I have been using the San Ramon Security Public Storage to store Fine Art and wine. for 6 years. Security Public Storage San Ramon is the best in the Greater San Ramon Valley Area for two reasons. First the Security aspects are great with the surveilence and alarm sytems. Second the climate control is important with the hot summers in this valley. This storage location is centrally located off the freeway, and is a lovely garden facility. There is ample amount of parking and it is easy to access the storage unit from two different entrances. There is climate control which is a plus, and it also provides safety and security with a good alarm system and someone is always available during access hours to help you in a neighbourly way. read more

We reached out to the on-site manager, Mark. He was very kind and went above and beyond by making some phone calls to find us a water source close by where we can fill up our water tank. close by is the Pleasanton fairgrounds and they were more than happy to let us use their water.
