I swear people in Kirkland don't work. This place is constantly packed with awful drivers. I highly suggest getting gas first and then coming in through the back to park. Oh man, this place is a nightmare. But you can get some really great deals and only have to shop every 2 weeks. The parking is terrible and the shopping experience is worse. They give you carts the size of a car which turns the whole place into a traffic jam. People can not navigate the store well and they will stop right in front of you and jam up the whole aisle. And with your fridge sized cart, you can't get around them. Same goes for the checkout. They are normally pretty speedy and efficient, but you'll find yourself in a swarm of carts and you just hope you're in a line. All in all, it's like any warehouse store. This place is popular and busy for a reason. If you can brave the congestion, you will make out. And maybe even get some tasty samples. Some things are definitely not good deals, but you will find some great ones if you shop smart. Downside is they do not take credit cards (except AE), but the upside is they have everything you might need. A good place to hide out if the zombies attack. read more

I spend way too much money here. Having the executive membership has actually benefited me. Last year I made $150 bucks and the year before... if I HAD the executive membership I would have made $600!!! When you have a whole family to feed, Costco can be a great place to shop. I prefer it over Walmart because they obviously DO take care of their employees because they're always closed on major holidays! Weekdays are the best times to go to avoid fighting for a parking spot and long lines inside. Love how I can purchase my gas and then get my car washed for $8... Tires come out shiny and looking new. You buy three items and you're up to $100. Easily. It becomes overwhelming at times. Especially when you want to buy things you don't need. And if you lose the person you're with. TG for cell phones. Fairly pleasant staff but can be super duper busy. I went in a Monday afternoon and it wasn't too bad. Person who checked me out never really made eye contact and do did have a nice bedside manner so to speak. But in the same transaction the person packing my belongings into my cart was over welcoming and telling me a funny story. Polar opposites in the same line. I would definitely return to this Costco. I LOVE COSTCO!! not so much this location as the one in vegas! This location needs to expand their parking as well as their check out counters. It takes forever to find parking at this location and no one seems to be courteous when they're walking back to their car - they always walk in the middle of the parking lot!! I will say tho I wish this costco had their food court indoors as i dont enjoy having birds fly around while i'm eating. I heart inexpensive gas and fast food that is still affordable. The optometry department can result in a bit of a wait, but is also worth it. The tire services are also useful when I can't make it to my regular location in an emergency. My car said that it had low tire pressure and I took it by Costco to see if it just needed air or what have you. Went inside the sales office and only one other couple was in front of me. Granted, it's a Saturday and I'm not dressed to the nine's as I normally would be during the week but I was wearing nice pants and a t-shirt but the couple in front of me clearly were well dressed. Apparently, I wasn't worth noting because the solitary gentleman working the desk didn't even bat an eyelid at me and I stood waiting quietly and patiently in front of him for over five minutes. No "I'll be right with you" no "good morning" nothing. He didn't acknowledge me at all. So I left and went to Firestone up the road where I was in and out in under 10 minutes and was treated far better. Won't waste time here again. read more

This is my back-up Costco (yeh - I know Federal Way and Redmond are just minutes apart). They have recently revamped the store and it now has the same layout as my store - so I really don't mind stopping here. Nice Costco. I know they're all supposed to be the same, but I've found that isn't close to the case. This location was the only store in the state to have the food item I was looking for (yes, I checked at another location and had them track it down for me.) I'd give it one of my coveted five star reviews, but it was so crowded and the parking lot was a disaster. Can't really say anything wrong about this place. It's costco, good prices, bulk items, and good selections. There's a lot across the street from the main lot that I always park out and it's a short walk to the front door. I always end up buying more than intended b/c they have so many random and great finds (usually food). Last time I went, I got Tom Douglas' rub with love seasoning ($10) and it's freaking awesome. I've already had it on salmon and chicken. I always stock up on salmon from here. Much cheaper than normal (sockeye was $8.99/lb) and portion it out into individual services. Pop the left over pieces in the freezer and I'll be having salmon for days. They carry major brands although I've found that I like pretty much anything "Kirkland" brand also. Their wine selection is always nice too :-) Costco rocks. Buying in bulk definitely saves $, it feels like a lot at the time, but household items (foil, saran wrap, trash bags) last forever and it's way cheaper than buying it from the store. read more

I love this costco, it's easy to get to right off the freeway, the hours are pretty good, the food court keeps me happy while wandering their aisles, the staff here is always friendly. The only reason I'm docking a star is because parking can be a giant pain and the layout makes it relatively easy to get into an accident or stuck waiting behind a giant line. My sis and I were there on Saturday, Feb 29th stocking up due to the growing concerns related to the coronavirus (Covid-19). The place was packed but manageable. The only BIG issue we had was that we were disrespected by an employee there. He was at the exit checking everyone's receipt between the hrs of 5p-7p. As we walked over to him, we handed our receipt to him. Seeing that he had gloves and probably touched hundreds of receipt, we kindly asked him to throw ours away (the trash can was next to him). He then said rudely, 'No, you throw it away!!' And then shoves it to my sis who had no gloves or sanitizer on hand! We were in shocked!! I called him an asshole and we walked out. Doesn't he realize the outbreak occurred in Kirkland?!?! He should be considerate!! This guy needs to be fired! He was a white male, gray/white hair, in his late 60s, and miserable. Costco is reliable for great prices. Costco is not reliable for consistent inventory. It's so annoying to have a list and not find your "usual." I was hoping to find some different items here also, as it's Kirkland and all. Is it not a test store? Food Court is on the outside of the store. I originally wrote this specifically for the gas station, but Yelp merged the pages..... Re: gas - You gotta be a member and you have to use your Costco American Express or a debit card. No cash. No credit cards. Prices are reasonable and the driving setup encourages fast turnover at the pumps. Octane ratings are 87 or 92 though, so they don't quite translate easy to what you might have in your tank or find at a regular gas station. Re: store - If you don't want to hate yourself and the rest of the human race, try to avoid this place on the weekend. Best times to shop are early morning or just before closing during the week. I used to love getting produce from here, but lately it's all been pretty old/rough looking by the time it makes it to the store. There's no way that large bag of spinach or that bucket of mushrooms is going to last the two weeks it will take to get through it. I find even if produce looks good, be sure to check the "packaged on" date and/or the "best by" date. Other than that, it's a Costco. Nothing inherently better or worse about it than other big box warehouses. read more

This was one the first Costco store I shopped at and I've been a Costco member for almost 20 years. I used to think this store was great, but after shopping at Shoreline, Tumwater and now the new Woodinville store, this Costco is not my favorite. Parking at this store is a challenge compared to these other locations. The store is more crowded than the others, even though the Woodinville store should have taken some of the load. One of the bright spots at this location is still the Optical department. The optometrist is one of the best I have been to. He was a former Group Health doctor who opted for his own practice. For those of you who were mislead about the Kirkland Signature brand, it was not named after the store. It was because the Costco corporate headquarters was in Kirkland between 1987 and 1996. The Kirkland Signature brand was introduced in 1995. Costco overall gets 5 stars from me, but this location only gets 3, due to the horrible parking, outdoor food court and crowded store. read more

Nice friendly people; great merchandise; wonderful guarantees; fantastic food and incredible prices. Only one drawback - no gas - do NOT blame Costco. They would love to have one. This cost has two 'issues'. 1. the parking design makes no sense to me.. i'm always seemingly stuck some where and cars don't move. Got a bit better after they renovated the whole place 2. First Costco ever? Surprising just like any other Costco you find anywhere else. You might be able to get a few items there that you can't find anywhere else.. but I'd sure like to see this place be more touristy! I came here during their construction. I guess it's trying to make it better. Just take that into consideration. This has the largest parking lot I've never found close parking in. Some Costcos have shallow but long parking lots, this one is long and deep. no one parks close. They have angled parking in parts too. so it's easy to not go the right way. Inside everything is hunky-dory. Their food /hot dog stand is outside because most customers work up an appetite walking in from Bothell (I mean, where they parked). There's a tire center, glasses center, pharmacy, and the usual selection of goods. One bonus this Costco gets is that it's gas station is huge and rather efficient. read more

I think I'm just not meant to shop in large stores like costco. There are to many people, it's overwhelming, the carts are so big... I'm not that tall, they don't carry everything and sometimes even though I'm aware of the large portions I can't believe how much they want me to buy at once. There meat selection is wonderful and I like getting their steak packages. Customers tend to just stop in the middle of the aisles with those huge carts and the people giving out samples just cause back ups. The staff is friendly though. The food court is pretty good too. This is your typical Costco. The gas stations they have are very nice and updated. The parking lot isn't very big, so it's probably best to park far and just walk it rather than fighting for a close parking spot. The food court here is oddly located on an outside room. I seem to be always buying either the hot dod/Polish dog for $1.99 or a slice of cheese pizza. They are the best deals and about as cheap eat as you can get for the quality! read more
