I said incredulousl, "Do you want to see my placard?" She said, "Yeah, show me your placard." Lady--no one is allowed to ask for my placard and identifying information except for a peace officer. This Chevron took advantage of my 79 year old mom! My mom's regular Chevron was too busy to replace a light bulb in her mini cooper. It's a 30 minute process involving removing things inside the trunk. She asked if the mechanic was familiar with minis and he said yes. 45 minutes later (and only $43), he said he was all done and she drove away. The VERY NEXT DAY, the dome light was coming off and on and the light indicating the convertible top was activating kept coming on. She reached out to this shop and they told her she would have to schedule for several days later. Turns out the mechanic that did the work was the manager, Paul. She couldn't afford to miss work for that many days, so she went back to her regular shop. He found wires pulled out and melted plastic. He had to replace the tail light, install plastic that holds the switch correctly so the light doesn't stay on (which caused damage and deformation to plastic), and install wiring gromet into trunk lid. That was the immediate work necessary to prevent a fire or further damage. The next day she had to go back to replace the package shelf switch. Total of $557.14! When I contacted Paul, he told me he was the one that did the work and was very quick to argue that if they screw up, they are supposed to get first dibs at fixing the work. Then he argued that he didn't know it was his work that caused the problem! (the day after he did the work, in the same place he did the work). He was hostile and said he wouldn't pay for someone else's labor, when I told him the correction had already been completed. Paul was the first one to mention taking advantage, when he defensively told me that he "didn't take advantage of her, I only charged her around $40". The damage he caused was visible to ANYONE that looked. He knew he screwed up and instead of apologizing, explaining, and arranging for my mom to come back at a convenient time FOR HER, he chose to try to hide it and hoped she wouldn't notice until time had gone by and he could deny it was his work that caused the damage. Shame on this Chevron and Paul! He did take advantage of a 79 year old woman and won't hesitate to do it again- on any vehicle he screws up the work on. read more

What a fabulous experience. Placing the credit card in box, it asked who I was by entering zipcode digits. Upon doing so, the message on screen prompted me immediately to unhook something called a "nozzle". The nozzle had a pump attached. Fitting perfectly into the side of the car, gasoline began to flow once I applied pressure on the handle, using my right hand. After the tank was full and the screen said $2,135.54 - the nozzle easily refit into it's cradle, where I found it in the first place. I will return, as the box was quite service oriented and gave me a receipt, complete with phone number in case i wanted to call it. Thank you Self. You made my day. read more

You wouldn't normally think that a local service station could compete with factory trained technicians at major dealerships. Wrong! Today, for the second time, Paul and his service crews have proved themselves superior to dealership technicians. The first time was a couple of years ago, when I smelled a gas leak from the engine of my 8 year old VW Tuareg. I took the car in to Michaels VW of Bellevue. They couldn't find any leak, I took it to Paul and his crew who found a very dangerous fuel leak near the carburetor. When I took it back to Michaels, they wouldn't release the car until they could fix it. The second time Paul rescued me from a problem is when the technicians at VW of Kirkland couldn't find the cause of my intermittent left rear turn signal. After replacing the light bulb they charged me $120 to replaced the light bulb fixture. When that didn't solve the problem they suggested doing a $200 diagnostic check. I took the car back to Paul at the Old Bellevue Chevron station who found the problem without charging me any extra. That is what I call 5 star service. read more

This shop saved my car. I had been taking it to another mechanic and felt like I kept getting it back with more problems than I had before. So, I was recommended by a friend to bring it in and they said they'd take a look. Not only did they explain to me what was going wrong in detail. But they offered wonderful solutions as to help me make sure I could do it in stages so I didn't walk out of there with $0 money in my bank account. The service was beyond what I would have envisioned a mechanic shop too be. I fully trust them, their expertise, their service, and how they worked with me to make sure I had a safe and reliable car. If there are any issues with the service of the car, they told me to bring it back and they'd be happy to ensure I was satisfied. However, I've never had an issue every time I got my car back. But I love the fact they give me that opportunity since my last mechanic just milked my bank account. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for help to fix their vehicle. Ask for Paul. Normally, I don't have any trouble at this gas station, but one day, none of my cards were working at the pump... So I went in to see the attendant to buy gas and my card worked just fine inside. Long story short, I've had to go in (where my card worked just fine) and speak with the attendant. This isn't my first time talking with this person (name withheld for hope) and she makes it clear that she does not want to help me everytime. Everyone else I've spoken to there has been pleasant... Maybe they can help her figure things out. Anyway, the attendant told me "I don't care" when I said the pump might be having problems. I do, and I'm buying my gas elsewhere. read more

I had a blocked sunroof drain. After the local Toyota dealership told me they'd charge $150 just to diagnose the issue, I started investigating "home remedies." In the process, I figured a quick call to my go-to gas station couldn't hurt. The service rep took my call right away, and told me to swing by at my convenience. I had the worst service at this mechanic shop. I let the guy know that I needed new rear brake pads and he said it would cost 115 for labor and 50 for brake pads (just rear pads) and I wouldn't get out over there under 300 dollars. Hello!! can you add? When I actually had them look at my car it went from 175 to 600 because the brake pad was stuck! So I gave them 20 bucks for looking at it and said see you later. When I left my brakes actually sounded worse than before it got there. I went to a local mechanic shop and it cost less than 200 dollars to get my front, back, and roters replaced. The mechanic also said that someone had tampered with my break pads. I would never come back to this place for any mechanic work again. read more

When I told them I needed to go to my place to get some cash (which is just across the street), some redneck ass of a mechanic threatened to tow my car to a spot 10 feet away and charge me $100 bucks. I have had 4 vehicles to this Chevron station since I moved here. The mechanics are very polite and do a good job. They don't up sell you unless you need it. The costs are less than other Bellevue places I have been to. You can't expect them to jump on your car unless you have an appointment since they only have 3 bays. I'm so disappointed... As a 17 year old girl who just wanted a battery replacement and wanted to save some money for installment, I was told to pay a decent $20 fee. This "fee" ended up costing me over $100. I wanted to get a trade in value for my old battery, so the attendant after replacing my battery placed the old one in my trunk. As a mechanical professional talking to a 17 year old teen maybe he should let me know that if the battery tilts, the acid will spill. Who new, I come home to my cargo rug about 60% eaten by the chemicals! I was devastated... I'm tired of companies not following protocol ensuring the safely of their customers. I'm so used to seeing this that I don't even blame myself one bit for not predicting this incident. Imagine if this was a $100,000 sports car and the mechanic decided to stick in in the back seat. goodbye leather seats.
